Chapter two-A night in the woods
Previous ChapterNext ChapterAs Brandon walked into the forest, a certain skeleton with a paintbrush was watching him from behind a tree.
“Hmm…” he blinked to show that his normal starry eyes were replaced with hourglasses to show that he was thinking. “This is supposed to be a universe where ponies and other magical creatures live, but I didn’t sense any humans here...weird.” He said to himself before his eyes turned back to normal. “I need to keep an eye on him, and see what he’s planning.”
Brandon was now wandering around the woods, trying to find out where he was. This lasted around ten minutes until he got irritated, which made him stop walking.
“Welp, it’s official. I’m completely lost now.” Brandon said annoyed. “I mean!? First I was relaxing in my bed and now I am in a fucking forest in “god who knows where” this place could be?”
The skeleton blinked to show purple diamond shapes. At the very least, he was confused about what he said. “What did he mean by that?”
To Brandon, he didn’t like going out to the woods that much. It would be a nightmare to get stuck in a place with no cellular service, especially if it's just a camping trip. Not to say he didn’t like camping, but he hated having to deal with avoiding wildfires or other occurrences that could happen.
Now he was here, in a forest he doesn’t recognize at all. It was all due to a picture a random person sent. Whoever it was, sure had a way of pranking someone.
Brandon's thoughts were interrupted when he heard rustling and growling coming from the bushes. It sounded like an animal of some sort, but he wasn't sure which animal it was.
It then popped out of the bushes and lunged at Brandon to attack him. Luckily, he dodges by jumping to the left and counterattacks with an explosive flamed kick to the side of the attacker.
He then looked at what attacked him and saw a large, dark, werewolf-like creature looking at him with murderous intent. Brandon could already tell that this doesn’t look friendly.
“What the fuck is that thing?” Brandon asked, confused.
The creature lunged at him again, but Brandon leaped forward, spun, and delivered a downward, explosive roundhouse kick to the top of his skull. This made the creature hit the ground, face first with its head stuck in it.
“I don’t have time for this, I need to get out of these woods and back home.” He thought.
Brandon started bolting forward, away from the creature and further in the woods. As he ran, he turned his head and saw the creature trying to get its head off the ground, but to no avail.
Meanwhile, the skeleton was shocked by the whole scene of what just happened. “What’s a Grimm Beowolf doing here, and more importantly why is it trying to attack a human?” He thought while pulling out his paintbrush. “I better make sure that human is ok after I get rid of this.”
As a few minutes passed, he began to slow down as he was further away from the creature. It didn’t make sense for him, but for some reason, he knew that whatever attacked him didn’t look like any wild animal from a forest.
Brandon sighed as he was confused about what’s going on here. “How did I get here?" He asked himself. "Why I'm I here? Who brought me here? What was that creature that just attacked me?” Brandon kept asking these questions as he walked down the path in the forest.
He then suddenly heard heavy footsteps coming closer to him and turned to see the same creature approaching him. “Seriously, I can’t catch a break for once.” He asked, annoyed.
As the creature lunged at him yet again, a random girl launched herself toward the beast, getting her scythe ready before slicing it clean in half. The creature disintegrated soon after the girl landed on the ground.
Brandon was mildly confused about who this girl was or where she came from just now. The only thing that he saw was that she looked like a red riding hood.
“Who is this girl? And why does she look like that?”
She wore a black long-sleeved blouse with a high collar and red trim on the sleeves, over which is a black waist cincher with red lacing up the front, and a matching skirt with red lining. She also wears a pair of thick black stockings and black combat boots with red laces, red trims around the top, and red soles.
Her outfit is topped by a red hooded cloak fastened to her shoulders by cross-shaped pins. Her emblem appears as a large silver buckle on her wide black belt, which is slung around her hips at an angle. Attached to her belt are a pocket and a row of bullets.
The girl looked at Brandon with concern. “You okay?” She asked.
Brandon snapped out of his thoughts, realizing that the girl was asking him a question. “Oh yeah, I’m okay. Thanks for saving me.” He said happily.
The red hooded girl smiled. “Glad you're safe, didn’t know who the Grimm was after until I saw another person here.” She said.
“Grimm?” Brandon asked curiously.
“Creatures of destruction that are unable to use Aura. They are drawn to feelings of negativity such as envy, sadness, loneliness, and hatred, often congregating on the source of these emotions.” She explained.
“This doesn’t make any sense. I haven’t heard anything about creatures of destruction before.” Brandon replied in disbelief. “More importantly, what’s a girl like you doing here, all dressed up like that?”
The girl was confused about what Brandon was saying. “I don’t understand what you’re getting at here?” She asked, confused. “Aren’t you from Remnant?”
“No, I’m from America. I don’t know anything about a place called Remnant.” Brandon answered. “I’m also asking why you’re here in these woods?”
“Look, I don’t know, ok. All I remember is that I was reading my comic in my room, then I suddenly got a weird picture on my scroll and-“
“Wait!” He interrupted. “Did that picture happen to have the universe showing on it?”
The girl’s eyes widened as if she knew what Brandon was talking about. “Yes, that’s exactly what I saw before I ended up here!” She exclaimed.
At that moment, Brandon was now getting suspicious of what he just heard. The fact that they both received the same picture was oddly enough creepy and downright weird. What made it even more confusing is that they have no idea why they were teleported here of all places.
“This is utterly strange. She says that she’s from a place called Remnant, even though I have never heard of a place like that before, unless-“
Then it clicked, Brandon realized that he could be in a different universe. The only thing that he didn’t know was what universe he ended up in.
“I had a feeling something like that would happen,” Brandon admitted. “Look I don’t want to believe this, but we might be in a different world or Universe.”
"WHAT?" The girl said, surprised. "That doesn't make any sense."
“That’s what I thought too because I received the same picture that you got. I thought it was a random thing on my phone, but after pressing it I ended up here.” He explained.
“What could this mean?” The girl questioned herself.
Just as Brandon was about to say something else, the two both heard the sound of a bunch of screams in the distance. They both looked at each other in shock.
“Did you hear that just now?” The girl asked.
“Yeah, but whatever it was didn’t sound pleasant,” Brandon replied.
They quickly ran as fast as they could to the source of the screaming. However, the task was harder when the various vegetation made it hard to locate the source of the screams.
The screaming continued to grow louder, and they knew they were getting closer to the location. The two pushed through some of the vegetation and saw something that completely made their eyes widened in horror.
A bunch of ponies was surrounded by three Grimm, circling them. The ponies in the center of the circle were a little frightened and defensive, looking back and forth frantically as the creatures circled them.
This threw both of them off as they saw two unicorns, two Pegasuses, and two regular ponies. To Brandon, this all looked like it came out of a five-year-old girl's book. But even so, it didn’t make sense why they were in the woods.
Brandon’s train of thought was interrupted when one of them howled and jumped in the air, leaping for the yellow Pegasus. Without hesitation, he lunged forward creating an explosive flame from his feet.
Brandon gave the creature leaping towards the pony a hard explosive kick in the side, knocking it to the ground and leaving it stunned. He quickly got between the ponies and the Grimm getting into his fighting stance.
Brandon delivers an uppercut to the chin, launching the first Grimm up into the air. This followed by an explosive punch into the chest region, sending it flying away from him.
The second Grimm came at a white unicorn and swung its paw at her. Brandon crouches and quickly creates an explosive lunge past the Grimm, before delivering a huge roundhouse kick that sends it spinning toward the ground.
The silver-eyed girl shot her sniper scythe to launch herself toward the second Grimm, before slicing it clean in half horizontally. She then turned and sliced the third behind her vertically in half.
The first Grimm was charging at the girl, but then stopped and tried to turn around. She turned and saw the Grimm get uppercut in the face by Brandon, knocking its head off and disintegrating it completely.
With the Grimm completely gone, for now, the two finally decided to take a breather. “I hope that was the last of them.”
As the girl put away her scythe, she began to try and understand the situation. “What’s going on!?” She asked, confused. “First they tried to attack us and now they’re attacking cute horses.”
“Ponies.”
Both of the humans paused, as the two turned their attention to the six ponies they just saved. “Did one of the ponies just-?” Ruby asked.
“Yes, we did!”
They both looked at the purple unicorn in surprise with Brandon only saying three words that came out of him.
“What the hell?”
