Scenery Corner

"W-what was that?!" He yelled, Laura gasped as she covered his mouth. She got closer to him before she hung onto him. "Shh, it might hear us." She whispered. Zephyr's pupils shrunken from her comment. "Who?" He muffled. "T-the creature." She whispered once more, as she sound cold in her statement.

It's been now an hour since the couple have been stuck in the basement, it was all dark around them as the sound of nothing but slight groaning noises came. They didn't know what was coming to them, they could smell this thing around the area.

It smelled as if it didn't bathe in years, the unholy smell that made your stomach turn and feelings of vomit would rise in throat. It felt like it was slowly watching you as if it knew what moves you're making. It was unknown what the monster looked like, in fact the only appearance it had were werewolf like eyes as it glowed purple in the darkness.

The sound of growling was slowly arising, as it used it's nostrils to sniff the air. Laura went closer to Zephyr, almost if she was hugging him. Zephyr couldn't help but feel his heart rise from this, as his eyes started to fill with tears as he felt his fear continuing to sink in. Laura slowly felt the same, but tried her best not to cry.

The place they're hiding was behind a bunch of hold boxes, knowing that the creature wouldn't get them. It continued to walk around as he slowly shoved the things in the way. It started to slowly do that, slapping anything out of the way with it's claws and the sound of glasses were breaking. Hearing the noise made the couple jump in their spots. The monster let out a small sniff as he turned his head back and forth, in his eyes he could see what was going on.

"Where are you?" He said, as it's voice was demonic.

Oh no, it can talk! Zephyr thought as he let out a quiet whimper, Laura slightly gasped from this.

"Sh, he might hear us." She whispered, removing her hand off his mouth.

"I-I can't help it m'lady, I don't know what's going to happen to us." He whispered back.

"Zephyr, we're going to be okay. Trust me." She said.

He couldn't help but continue to whimper. He felt like his life was gonna flash before his eyes, he truly didn't want to perish like this. Not at all. He had more to life then this! He truly did. He felt his heart pumping fast as he heard the steps of the monster getting closer, as it continued to break and throw each item across the basement floor. Laura slowly felt the same and feared for her life.

"D-don't worry, I'll make sure to protect you. I-in fact, if the monster tries to hurt you, I'll try to take the hit." She said, Zephyr let out a quiet gasp.

"Are you crazy?! That thing will, will hurt you! Make you dead! Why would you-" She covered his mouth again, as she looked at him even though she couldn't see him in the darkness, she imagined how he looked, sad and tearful. She sighed quietly, as she held onto his hand and looked up at him.

"Because Zephyr, I love you. And I'll do anything for you. I promise, even with my full heart, if this monster get's you, I'll take the hit. I promise." She said, as her eyes slowly filled with tears. Zephyr's tears started to fall as it hit his cheeks, he sniffled before looking at his girl and carefully grabbed her face as he gave a kiss on the forehead.

"T-thank you. M'lady," He softly said, as he let out a slight hiccup. "I-I promise to do the same with you."

"Of course you will," She said, sounding softly too as her tears now fell. "Because, if we both die together, we'll be together." The two slowly leaned against each other, as they're gonna give a kiss. A kiss which may be their last before their deaths. However, it was too late as boxes flew against them and the couple let out a scream. The couple have been pushed across the basement floor, about five inches away. In their eyes, they saw the monster as it slowly ran to them in force.

"I've found you, you dumb fools!"
