Chapters You Are Dead
Those three words drove a literal knot in my stomach as I stared at the floating text above me. I was scared but more than anything I was confused, the last thing I remembered was going to sleep after beating that weird game and now here I am in wherever the fucksville. A loud beep sound cut off my next thought as I looked at the message in front of me change
"Hello there I'll be your friendly gm this session you can call me G are there any questions before we proceed?"
I stared at the words in disbelief my brain slowly trying to process what I was reading before the text changed again
"I'm gonna assume then you don't have any questions then and we can proce-"
"Wait no I have questions i promise I'm not ready to proceed!" I shouted quickly the text stopped writing as if it paused. "...where am i?" I slowly asked staring at the text. Another beep was heard as a side message showed up saying 4 questions were left.
"You're in my domain."
I paused waiting for more context but when the text doesn't change after a moment I realized that its giving me the bare minimum. "Ok super helpful what do you want with me then?" Another beep from the side messages and I saw I had 3 questions left.
"Simple you've wasted your life so I've taken claim of it and your my new video game character and i'm putting you through a new adventure obviously."
*Alright that's rude I wouldn't say I wasted my life just didn't live it to its fullest. * The screen with the main messages flipped over showing a video, in the video was my life with a small arrow saying "this you" I saw my life spent locked in my room playing games and eating noodles.
"isn't you spending years of your life until your literal death being a NEET, refusing to leave unless it's for food gods I can only imagine the smell. You lived your life in that room and died in their and you expect me to not think your life didn't go to waste."
I bit my tongue holding back from saying anything rude, *so he can read my mind that's great. * "Fine we can agree to disagree I lived my life how I chose that doesn't give you the right to take me as some little game piece you can do whatever you want with. " I was starting to get irritated with how this being was looking down at me like some peasant. "Whatever so what's the point of this game?"
"Your going on an adventure obviously just like all those silly little games you play I shall spawn you into this new world and your goal is to gain as many achievements and abilities throughout your life."
"Oookay but what's the end goal how do I win?" There has to be a catch right this felt way to good to be true like some bullshit was about to come next.
"simple. Towards the end of your journey you have to use all of your skills and defeat me and if you fail....well we will keep playing this game until you beat me."
"WHAT?! WHAT KIND OF SHIT IS THAT HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?" My mind wracked thinking about how stacked against me this was.
"I'm not going to give you the answer to win silly I want to keep playing with you forever this is already the 5th time i won and I wanna keep the win streak going."
"Yeah well-" My mind froze on what the message just said and frantically reread it multiple times. "....what do you mean 5th time?" I stared at the screen waiting for the text to change but nothing happened. "Hello I asked a question what does the 5th time mean?"
"Wellll we've already gone through this whole tutorial gimmick 5 times and I've won each time."
"I don't understand why don't I remember this?" I started at the floor going through my memories but no matter how many times I mentally retraced my thoughts the only thing I can remember is my life as a NEET. As I stood their racking my brain in a flash a bright light blinded me and before me stood 5 still figures looking back at me. The first figure was a burly male with bulging muscles and a gentle aura, the burly man seemed to almost pose flamboyantly before vanishing. The next figure was a much smaller male wearing what looked like a red and blue superhero costume and just like before the small male posed heroically before vanishing. "I don't understand who are these people?" I looked to the text waiting to see what it would say.
"They're what you would call your previous save files I guess each of these were a you who didn't win the game and when I new game plus'd you I kept the previous save every time for this conversation and for shits and giggles I guess." I looked back to 2 more male versions of me slightly different in stature and then what i could only assume was a female me with a red sword and red hair to match.
"Ok I think I get it now so I just have to beat you and you'll free me from this hell then did I get that right?" I took a deep and steeled my nerves looking over at the floating words a random burst of determination filling inside me. The words began to swirl around before forming what i could only imagine was the equivalent of a Cheshire smile as the checks changed to a simple question.
"Are you ready to play?"
"Not like I have much of a choice do I?' The text didn't respond instead flying around me swirling around me in a flurry before eventually blinding me all together, The last thing I heard before everything faded to black was the sound of a little girl giggling madly into my head directly. The next thing I know all I could here were muffled voices saying something, my environment felt extremely warm and comfy but pitch black dark. I heard the voices getting louder although i still couldn't understand what anyone was saying, suddenly I felt my entire body lurch forward as a bright white light shined on me *I don't understand what the hell is going on but everything in my previous life has told me to never go into the light. * Immediately my body lurched forward again as I felt myself get pulled to the blinding white, the first thing i felt what a deep chill as i opened my eyes to see a extremely colorful hospital room. *….No fucking way. *
"Congratulations Ms. Moonlight its a healthy baby boy." I felt my body move as someone took me in and snuggled me up against something very warm and fuzzy. *There is no fucking way...was I just born-* My eyes finally adjust to the light only to see a multicolored pony smiling down at me.
"What do you want to name him honey?" I turn my head to the sound the voice came from to see a grey stallion beaming happily while looking at, I immediately look down to see instead of hands i had a pair black hooves. *-AS A PONY??* I frantically looked around to see the entire room is filled with multicolored ponies all looking at me.
" I think we'll name him Onyx Star don't you agree you love?' The female pony kept moving her mouth but for some reason all I could hear was a high pitched ringing sound blocking everything out as i see a small message appear in the corner of my eye saying 'Achievement Unlocked: You've been born', everything became to much to handle as it all finally clicked and I screamed.
Author's Note
Well this is my first crack at this I'm coming at this with pretty low expectations of it being perfect. Criticism is appreciated but I'm mainly working on this to let out a lot of creative flow and to notch this off my bucket list.
Its been 7 years since I died and was reborn in this new world and there are a few things I've learned and picked up. I spent the first few years gaining an understanding of my new body basically having to relearn every single basic skill again from how to walk as a quadruped to learning basic reading and writing. While learning how to function comfortably in this new body I spent time on the side gathering information and I've learned so far a few things. One; getting the obvious out of they way I'm currently a pony (or gender specifically a colt) living on the planet Terran in the country Equestria currently living in Las Pegasus, I used to love puns but after living in a place called Las Pegasus has soured that enjoyment from my previous life. Two; I've taken note that their are four types of ponies being Unicorn, Pegasus, Earth Pony and Alicorn although it seems alicorns only pertain to royalty, speaking of the government system of this entire country is a Monarchy ran by a princess who is kind of treated like a god which makes sense since apparently she controls the rising and setting of the sun and moon. Three; My Parents are nice I guess its hard to look as them as parents with knowledge of my previous life, my mother's name is Sugar Moonlight a unicorn who runs a bakery in the city and my father Shadow Bronco an earth pony who's a captain of the royal guard in las pegasus and it seems I'm an earth pony like him. Four; and for the strangest and most important part my eyes aren't like anyone else, I have a literal HUD with a health bar, mana stats and everything, it seems I'm for sure the only one like this since no one seems to understand what I'm talking about when I mention it.
"Onyx sweetheart can you do mommy a favor and go fetch your father from the station and let daddy know dinners ready?" My mom called out from the kitchen, I turned to look at her to see the usual floating text above her head; Name: Sugar Moonlight, Class: Mom/Baker, Level: 10. After my mother asked me to run the errand on que a small bleep caught my attention.
You got a new quest do you accept? I tapped the accept button and swiped away the extra details from the quest before heading off in my room grabbing my satchel and my mareball cap and turned to head outside. These quest have been showing up for a week now but it doesn't seem to be giving me any special rewards aside from money, another thing I've noticed is that several parts of my "Character Sheet" are locked away, the only thing I can access is my stats and quest page if I try swapping to my skills page I get an error and a message that I can't understand.
"I'll be back in a few mama with papa don't worry." I give her a sweet smile to which she looked up giving me a warm smile in return, I trotted out the door heading down the street scrolling through my information on my character sheet even though I've finished a quest everyday this week but yet for some reason I'm still level 1. Maybe I'm still a level 1 because the quests aren't giving me enough EXP I'm pretty sure that I could-
"Well Well if it isn't shrimp legs how's it hanging buddy?" my thoughts were cut off by my current bullies Big B and his lackeys Gladmane and Rocky Road, some things never change I guess even in a new body in a completely different dimension I can never escape being bullied huh . I feel a sharp pain in my head as Big B took it upon himself to hit me in the head to get my attention.
"Its rude to ignore yah friends shrimp legs come on man were just asking where yah headed buddy." I shrug off my pain and bite my tongue already knowing that any answer I give including none will just continue the bullying. My ears perked up as I hear my quest tracker notification go off I sneakily open the quest information to see two different quests available.
Please choose one, Quest 1: Show your courage and fight the bullies. Rewards : 1 level up & 1 Random Combat Skill. Quest 2: Live to fight another day (Successfully run away from your bullies) . Rewards : 1 level up & 1 Random Movement Skill
I took a moment to ponder which one to choose before I made a decision, I accepted the second quest backing away slowly and made a mental note of where to go before refocusing my attention on the bullies.
"I'm not your friend I'm your meal ticket since you guys are to poor to afford food without having to beat up weak kids like me." With that statement their smug faces morphed into heavy scowls they were all easily set off when you mention their financial situation its kind of sad. Big B started menacingly walking towards me most clearly going in to hit me but I didn't give him a chance as I kicked some dirt at gravel at his face momentarily blinding him.
"Gah what the-" Big B immediately brought a hoof to his eye trying to wipe the dirt and I took that opportunity to shove Big B into his lackeys having them topple over like a stack of dominoes. I galloped past them only faintly hearing Big B shouting to get me, I never gave them the chance as I zoomed down the road running into the Las Pegasus Casino zipping between all the pony's looking for another exit.
"Get back here shrimp legs your totally getting a pounding for this!" I look back to see only Big B chasing me and further behind him is his lackeys being grabbed by the security guards. 'wait did he just say he was gonna pound me? Repressed homosexuality or a bad choice of words...questions for later . I made a beeline past the slot machines and took a quick dive into a photo booth as I watch Big B stampede by looking for me.
"Ha suck on that Big D stupid bucking prick!" I took a deep sigh of relief as I backed away from the door bumping into something fuzzy.
"Well well hello there you lost sweetheart? I quickly turned around to see a gryphon looking down at me with a pair of shades and an amused smile. 'Ok best course of action it to play the lost kid role and try to leave.
"Oh I'm sorry miss nice lady I was wandering around and I didn't see you there I'll just get out of your feathers." I turn around to make my escape and felt a yank on my tail, I look back to see this gryphon holding my tail with a claw.
"Now now you don't have to leave just yet I wanted to ask you a quick question." I take a careful pause and watch her movements for any sign of her going for an attack but her posture seemed relaxed and her tone sounded coy. "I'll assume I can ask so here it is what are you exactly? You may look like a colt but you don't smell like a child you smell like a grown stallion." She didn't wait for an answer as she kept talking aloud watching me. "Now age wise I can definitely tell on the inside your a stallion but on the outside I can tell this isn't a spell and that your physically a colt so what's the right answer?" Her voice sounded so soft and melodic but her tone felt cold and calculating, my body kicked into hard drive as I felt a knot twist in my stomach telling me I'm in danger if I don't play this right.
"I'm sorry miss I don't under-." before I could finish my sentence I felt a strong force grab and squeeze my throat cutting off my oxygen, I could do nothing but gasp for air trying to get free from the green aura holding me up.
"Now careful sweetheart cause lying to me would be your biggest mistake." As she spoke I watched as she pulled off her glasses and her blue eyes flashed green for a split second as she glared at me with a hungry stare. I began to lose focus as the world started slowly turning back and I watched as my health bar started going down by 5HP every second, before fully passing out she let me go and I dropped to the floor gasping for air. "Lets try that again don't you think?" I quickly nodded wheezing trying to quickly regain my breath.
"I died and was reincarnated but I kept my previous life memories." As soon as I finished my sentence she paused looking at me critically staring deep into my eyes my whole body shuddered in fear as her look reminded me of a predator looking at a free meal.
"Hmm... I see i can tell your telling the truth and i want to ask more but oh well I suppose this mystery will be solved another day if you survive of course, now if you excuse me i need to feed one last time in las pegasus." And with that she stepped out of the photo booth smoothly before i could say anything, a flash of green flames swirled blocking my view before dying down I peeked my head to see the direction to where the psycho gryphon only to see only other ponies leaving their own photo booths.
"What the fuck just happened." I fell back on my back taking a deep haggard breath as I took deep breaths trying to calm my heart down, I finally pricked my ears to hear a pinging sound and noticed my quest tracker and achievements icons had a exclamation point on it. I quickly opened my character sheet and swiped over to my quest tracker seeing a notification pop up.
You've completed your "Live to fight another day" quest. Rewards: +1 Level, Skill Phase Run Unlocked. 'Finally some actual progress on this shit thank god...right its thank Celestia I really have to get used to saying that sooner rather then later.'

"I have never been so happy to level up in my entire life lets start with this full character sheet and see what the rest looks." I swipe back to my character sheet completely overhauled and take a moment to read everything.

"Holy shit there's so much to take in right now, despite my circumstances this is kind of cool wait there's an achievement section." I quickly swap over it and see 1 achievement gained. Achievement Unlocked: "Just as courage is the danger of life, so is fear its safeguard." Survive a chance encounter with a hungry changeling. Rewards: Charisma +1
"Oh neat I mean I nearly died but hey a reward is a reward I guess." I swiped away before my brain paused and swiped back rereading the achievement. Wait a minute a changeling that doesn't sound right I could've sworn that was a gryphon, furthermore what even is a changeling? I shook my head saving this train of thought for another time sneaking out of the photo booth heading for the back exit, as I peak my head out I see Big B posted by the exit.
"Dammit where is that asshole when I find him I'm gonna kill him." Big B spat at the ground as he looked around for me, I quickly slip my head back inside as an idea popped in my head. 'Let's see how these skills work.' I took a deep breath and focused on what the skill described and felt my body start to get warm all over to nearly a boiling point, I Dashed forward running right for the door closing my eyes but when I didn't immediately crash into the wall I opened my eyes to see that i was fully outside running down the street. 'Holy shit it worked thank god' looking at my HUD I saw that I lost 10 mana and that the skills duration timer lasts 30 seconds, taking advantage of that I zoomed past several stores before finally making it to my fathers barracks. The warm feeling left my body as I checked my skills again seeing a 4 minute cooldown on phase run, I took a deep breath as my heavily winded body has never exerted this much power at a time. 'Jesus I definitely need to build my body up I'm way to weak in my current state.'
"Onyx is that you? I looked up to see a familiar white furred unicorn mare in a guards uniform looking down at me the guard pulled off her helmet revealing herself to be Lucky Rose my fathers right hand woman and second in command, I opened my mouth to respond but simply wheeze as I try to regain my breath. "Lemme guess, running from some bullies again." I shrug vaguely hoping she doesn't push the subject knowing she would report it to my dad when I wasn't around. She simply sighed before lifting me up with a gentle white aura and placing me on her back. "Just get your breath back kid neither of us want to deal with the captain freaking out about what happened."
"....Thank you." I quietly responded keeping my head down hoping she would pity me enough to not snitch, she grunted sounding somewhat annoyed as we started walking up to my fathers tent. Before we walked in i saw a flash report show up on my HUD.

Notice: You are in the vicinity of a Level 10 Catastrophe please evacuate immediately!
"Wait somethings wrong." I call out to Lucky Rose who in turned stopped to look back at me confused, I jumped off Lucky Rose's back and started looking around frantically for any sign of a catastrophe but nothing gave me any sign there was any danger to begin with.
"What's wron-" Before Lucky Rose could finish her sentence a loud almost deafening roar could be heard forcing me to cover my ears as a large shadow dragon flew over Las Pegasus. "What the hell dammit." I heard Lucky Rose run off but I couldn't move as I watch in horror as the large shadow dragon hovered right over the las pegasus casino before opening its maw as a bright blue light shined out of its mouth before a giant fireball slammed into the casino causing a large explosion, a large shockwave hit the entire city and I felt myself get pushed off feet as the wave hit me too. The last thing I could see before the world went black was the shadow dragon opening its maw getting ready for another attack.
Pain. The only thing I could feel as I regained consciousness was a searing pain all over my body, a sharp pain in my leg drove me to tears and my chest felt tighter and tighter with each breath I took. 'I can't do this...everything hurts so much why can't I just die.' My body seemed to agree as the pain subsided and darkness began to take me, I laid there accepting that I was going to die here. 'Hopefully mom and dad are ok... I'm ok with this I never stood a chance any- . A loud boom snapped me from my thoughts as I opened my eyes, what greeted me was a gush of wind strong enough to push all the ash and fragments of debris off of me, then a beautiful wave of a rainbow sailed past me before settling in a direction almost as if it was pointing where I need to go.
"YOU CAN'T GIVE UP ONYX!" I heard a group of voices I didn't recognize call out to me but when I looked around I was alone. I looked back up at the rainbow and felt a well of strength rise inside of me. I groaned as I finally stood up seeing what the pain in my leg was, a piece of rebar had stabbed through my hind leg.

I stared at the warning message with contempt as I spat on the ground I felt my anger rising as I reflected on all this bullshit. ...Fuck this as if I let some stupid dragon or a stupid system from a god that's fucking with me kill me just so when I die I could be back in his void with him taunting me...or worse I have to go through this shit all over again! A low growl escaped my muzzle as I push past the pain and started limping towards the rainbow, each painful step only fueled my anger.
"I can't believe this what kind of dumb luck do I have to somehow survive this shit but be so far from any help that I'm going to die out here on my o-" Before I could finish my sentence I heard the sound of wings flapping overhead, I looked up to see a golden carriage flying past me with what looked like other ponies leaving the area. "-WAIT WAIT WAit don't bucking leave me are you kidding me just turn around please!' I rasped waving my arms hoping someone would notice me but they just kept flying away much to my dismay. I stared off in the distance as they left pissed knowing that they just left me behind, I looked back at the piece of rebar stuck in my leg and grabbed it with my teeth yanking it out in a fit of rage. I screamed out in pain trudging forward slowly dragging my leg behind me, I didn't know where I was going but I knew I couldn't be here anymore.
"F...fuck this bullshit as if I'm going to die here, I'm going to kill that piece of shit god...but first I'm going to kill that motherfucking dragon and avenge my home and if that piece of shit killed my family...." My words trailed off when I mentioned my family, as I limped my anger subsided with each step sadness replacing it in its stead thoughts of my pony family flooded in my head my pony family were amazing they loved me with all their hearts and now their most likely dead, I didn't even get to truly cherish them before a dragon came in taking it all away from me. Memories of my pony mother and father rushing to my aid if I got hurt, or taking time out of their day to make sure I'm happy. It was the little things they did that mattered to me because not even my human family would do those little things. 'Of course I became a neet no one cared about me anyways so I would've been better off hiding away gaming to my hearts content.'

Are you Kidding me!! Goddamn it there's no one around I cant die out here like this! I trudged forward getting outside of the city limits and heading as far east to the rainbow as I could go, I felt my lungs burns and each step felt heavier than the last until eventually I dropped to the ground, my legs refused to move, my body didn't listen to me and then eventually I could barely keep my eyes open as I saw what looked like a figure walking towards me, "Please...help....me." I rasped out before everything went dark.

"When do you think he's going to wake up?" A loud voice pulled me from my dreams followed by a series of shushing. I kept my eyes closed and continued to listen to what sounded like girls my age "attempting" to whisper around me.
"Your being too loud papa says he needs to rest." A gruff voice snapped at the loud voice, a much quieter voice agreed wordlessly. As the group of girls continued to discuss about me I eventually realized that all the pain in my body has dimmed down to a numb feeling. As I thought over to what they did to fix me a gentle older mares voice caught my attention.
"Girls alloweth the boy to rest the boy hath been through enough." I heard several hoof steps retreating and I sighed in relief. "Better now boy?" I jumped in surprise and finally opened my eyes to be greeted by kind blue eyes looking down at me. "Fret not boy we shan't bring you any harm." The mare immediately reassured me pulling the blanket off me revealing my hind leg and my torso wrapped up in bandages.
"W...where am I?" I coughed out hoarsely finally looking around finding myself in a basic bedroom but the décor looked set a decade behind. My eyes landed on the mare who seemed to be currently focused on changing my bandages and replacing them. I finally got a better look at her overall seeing she had a light grey fur with a dull green mane tied up into bun, she had a small blouse collar with a pendant in the middle and small glasses on the bridge of her nose.
"Thy is in our home, Mine own nameth is Cloudy Quartz, what is thy's?" The mare finished wrapping my bandages and looked up at me patiently waiting for a response.
"My name is onyx ma'am.... thank you for saving me." I smiled at her gratefully before trying to pull myself off the bed, immediately I felt a hoof touch my chest pushing me back into bed.
"Now now child you mustn't push yourself your injuries are far too severe." Cloudy looked a little panicked as she kept me in the bed. mental note she dropped the heavy old English for modern but kept the accent. "and if you wish to thank anyone thank my husband he found you on a voyage to Las Pegasus, had he had shown up a day later who knows what would've happened to you. " I nodded quietly noticing my HUD silently blipping several messages, before I could make a plan to get some alone time I saw four girls my age walk into the room carrying food and drinks.
"Mama papa said to bring some food in for the...oh he's awake!" A pink pony with a frizzy pink mane spoke a mile a minute upon noticing me awake, immediately I noticed that she rapidly kept switching topics ranging from my wounds, too her family. I think at one point she tried introducing herself and her sisters but I couldn't keep up with her even if I tried. Eventually before she could keep going a light grey pony with a purple mane put her hoof to the pink ones lips shushing her.
"Thank you Maud now Pinkamena Diane Pie, is that how you greet a guest." The Pink one apparently named Pinkamena immediately apologized and took a deep breath.
"Sorry well as mama said my name is Pinkamena Diane Pie, this is my big sister Maud Pie, my bigger sister Limestone Pie and my baby sister Marble Pie you said your name is onyx rightI'llbebackIhavetogetasurprisereadynowforonemoreguest! " Just like a hurricane she was gone before I could assess what just happened, I looked at the rest of her siblings for an answer and was given nonchalance in return.
"Right well it seems I may have to monitor my daughter to see what she's planning so here eat up and rest child I shall return in the morning to check your bandages." She took the plate of food leaving it on a dresser next to me before ushering the other girls much to their disappointment.
"Thank you ma'am." I rasped out as she closed the door behind her. I took a small sigh recalling everything that happened before finally opening the menu checking all the messages from the system

I felt frustrated looking at the "achievements" and even more so at the quests in front of me i felt like the screen was taunting me telling I was too weak but I pushed my feelings aside opening up the skills menu.

I laid my head back against my pillow beyond exhausted and sad, I took note that the system confirmed that I lost at least one of my parents but I refused to dwell on which parent I lost as I closed my eyes getting some more rest.

I found myself back in las pegasus at my fathers barracks, it felt like an out of body experience as I watched the shadow Dragonlord firing its blast in the center of the city as the force of the blast reached me time slowed down as my physical body flew back. I turned to look at the Dragonlord trying to remember every detail only to see a hooded figure flying out of the flames and clashing with the giant Dragon before flying at highspeed away, the dragon recoiled from the blow falling back before roaring and flying after its assailant. I felt a presence behind me and turned around to see my father knelt over my physical body, I noticed him whispering into my bodies ear and stepped closer to hear what he was saying.
" -sorry my son I have failed at protecting you and your mother but I won't make the same mistake twice-" My dad nuzzled my head talking to me not looking for a reply before snapping at attention at the sound of the dragon roaring in the distance. "-Ok kid I'll be back for you in a flash but until then this should protect you till I come back." My dad's horn spark with a small rose gold aura that enveloped my physical body, immediately my dad ran off towards the direction of where the dragon was last heard with a determined look on his face. I tried reaching out to him but felt the ground beneath me give way as I was pulled into an inky black void.
I snapped awake drenched in sweat in the dead of night, for a moment I forgot where I was and expected to see my mom and dad doting over me easing my fears but instead I found myself alone. My throat got tight as tears began to well up in my eyes, I quickly got out of my bed limping out of the bedroom and house looking for somewhere secluded. Eventually I found myself in a small clearing a good distance away from the nice family and I crumpled to the floor wiping away my tears taking deep breaths, I felt my frustration burn like a fire in my chest as I let out a primal scream of anger up at the sky. My emotions felt all over the place, my mind knew that they weren't my human family but they still loved me more than my human family ever could and now I couldn't even have them for a little longer to watch me grow up and tell me how proud they were. Eventually I took a deep shaky breath before wiping my tears away and stood up to head back to the nice family's home, I turned around to see the Pinkamena watching me quietly noticeably her hair looked a lot less poofy as she trotted over to me before pulling me in a tight embrace
"I'm sorry about what you've been through it might not be much but mama and papa would never turn their back on a lost foal so you can live with us if you want..." I felt her hug around get very tight almost like she was trying to hug my sadness away. "I finished my surprise by the way if you'd like to see it now?" She looked at me with a pleading looking in her eyes as I sigh and nod in agreeance.

I smiled softly to myself thanking dad for this gift and looked ahead seeing Pinkamena bouncing with every step her home visible in the distance, the sun started to rise and I saw Pinkamena sisters and parents already outside working on a bunch of rocks diligently they noticed me and smiled waving me over, I headed over to them apologizing for running off but they dismissed giving me an understanding look.
"Ohhhhh its time for the surprise hurry hurry so you can see it!" Pinkamena was practically dragging me inside, she had wrapped a blindfold around my eyes as I heard shuffling around me.
"Pinkamena what's this all about now we gots to get back to work on the farm." Pinkamena's father spoke with a dull yet harsh tone, Pinkamena didn't really register her fathers words as she quickly shuffled around the room.
"Alright ready 3..2..1 andddd take off your blindfolds-" as I removed my blindfold I looked around to see pinkie had set up a large party with cake, streamers and balloons and everything. I looked around kind of impressed how well she set everything up in such short notice. "-I call it a party do you like it?" She looked at us smiling giving a hopeful look and I smiled giving her an enthusiastic smile but I saw her smile waver as she looked at her family, I turned to look at them and saw their faces giving a mixture of discomfort and surprise before a big smile appeared on their face.
"Oh Pinkamena darling this...party is amazing come now children lets enjoy ourselves Pinkamena sweetheart why don't you show us what we do at a....party." Cloudy gave a slow emphasis on the word party like she didn't understand the word but rolled with it, everyone piled into the shed interacting with different things that Pinkamena set up. I walked around looking at different things before noticing Pinkamena begin to glow a faint pink glow as a cutie mark of three multicolored balloons appeared on her flank, Pinkamena began jumping around for joy before she pulled her sisters in a big hug.
"Child come over here for a moment." I looked over to see Pinkamena's father beckoning me over I followed him quietly not wanting to disrupt Pinkamena's party, he led me outside to a field of rocks. "As you may have noticed this is our rock farm and while you may be be to injured to work I do believe that a little bit of work can help build some muscle on you get you up in running and when your ready we can talk about what you want to do how's that sound?"
