Starlight And The Lone Crafter

A Strange New World

It became night the moment the crafter had arrived at his home with his passenger still passed out on his back. The house itself was built as a simple oak cabin with the walls of the cabin made of oak wood planks, the outer corners being oak logs, and dark oak stairs making up the roof. The crafter walked up to the entrance to his cabin and carefully opened the double dark oak doors, thankful that he had built the entrance the way it was allowing him to bring in his passenger without much trouble. Once he stepped inside his humble abode he walked over to the back left corner of his cabin where his bed sat and gently set the girl onto it.

Once he was finally freed of his burden he took a better look at the girl he found prior to coming to his home. The first thing he noticed were the purple horse like ears sticking out from atop the girl's head, though they seemed to be slightly shorter than the horses that he had seen during his travels. The girl's hair was also purple, but a with two different shades, and had light blue streaks along the bangs of her hair and possibly along the back as well. He then looked at the girl's attire and took note of the shirt that was similar in color to the streaks in her hair and dark purple pants that went just below the knee. Deciding that he had seen enough the crafter turned away and proceeded to head for one of the chests in his home to set about to preparing a meal for his guest.

It was at this moment when Starlight started to wake up. Groaning she slowly opened her eyes as she tried her best to get up, sensing that something was not right about her body. Once her vision cleared her eyes went wide as she took in her surroundings. Everything that she saw looked like they were made of what looked to be blocks, with each block having what looked like square patterns to resemble textures. She shot up and began to panic as she tried to figure out what was going on when she heard a male voice speak out.

"Oh hey, you're awake."

Starlight slowly looked off to her left and saw a strange blocky figure kneeling by what she assumed was some sort of chest, looking as though he was about to pull something out. Overcome with fear at the unfamiliar environment that she has found herself in she immediately looked around for an exit. She didn't listen to the stranger as he tried to calm her down as she set eyes on the still open doorway leading outside of the strange building she found herself it. Without really thinking about it she jumped out of the bed on her two legs and made a mad dash for the exit and sprinted out into the nearby forest with the night sky overhead.

"Hey wait!" The crafter yelled as he tried to stop her but watched as she raced off into the forest, "oh Notch damn it." Groaning, the crafter took out his iron sword and shield and ran out in pursuit of the girl.

As she got deeper into the forest Starlight Glimmer tripped and fell face first onto the ground. Groaning she lifted her hoof to rub her aching head and froze when she noticed something was off. She looked at what was once a hoof and was now some sort of thick blocky arm somewhat similar to the figure she saw when she woke up. She looked at her other arm and saw that it too was the same way as the other. She also took note of what looked like appendages that were at the end of both of her arms forming what she assumed were hands. Before she could get a better look at the apparent changes to her appearance she heard what sounded like groaning to her right.

When she looked in the direction of the noise she saw what appeared to be a group of six figures similar in shape to the one that she had met, except their skin was sickly green in color and they all seem to be wearing the same type of clothing. She watched as they proceeded to slowly shamble their way towards her, with their red eyes glaring directly at her. Smirking Starlight then proceeded to channel her magic to deal with what were clearly monsters. When she noticed that nothing was happening she brought an arm up to where her horn should be and quickly realized that she didn't have her horn.

Now realizing that she had no effective way to protect herself she then began to back away from the small oncoming horde. "S-stay away," she said as the horde continued to make their way towards her. She continued to back away until she bumped into something behind her. Taking a quick look she noticed that she had backed into what looked like a tree. Turning back to the horde she covered her head with her arms in an attempt to protect herself when she heard a familiar male voice call out.

"Hey!"

Looking up she looked over to where the voice came from she saw the same individual she had initially ran away from and notice what appeared to be a sword and shield in his hands. The horde of creatures turned their attention to the newcomer and began to shamble their way towards him. She watched as the stranger charged at the horde with his shield raised in front of him and proceeded to attack the horde.

Once he reached the first of the creatures he slammed his shield against it and as it staggered followed it up with a thrust of his sword. Once the monstered dropped dead he spun around and backhanded another one with his shield while cutting down two more with his sword. With three now remaining the crafter quickly moved between Starlight and the remaining creatures as he readied himself for another attack. As the one that he knocked out slowly got up the other two creatures quickened their pace as they were spurred with anger. Seeing an opportunity the crafter put away his shield as he lowered himself to prepare for a strong slash. Once the two enemies came into striking distance he sprang forward and slash horizontally, quickly cutting down them down with one strike. With only one enemy left the crafter walked over to the last one as it struggled to get back up.

Starlight watched with wide eyes as the stranger kicked the creature onto its back before raising his sword over his head. She winced slightly as he swiftly brought the sword down onto the creature head, killing it instantly. He then pulled his sword out of the corpse's head and turned towards Starlight. She tensed up as he approached her only to relax slightly as he knelt down in front of her and held out a hand.

"You alright?" he asked.

Unsure of whether she should trust this stranger she gave a slight nod as she accepted his hand. The crafter helped her to her feet and she wobbled a bit as she did her best to get accustomed to her new body. Once she was confident that she wasn't going to topple over she looked up to see that the stranger was now glaring at her.

"What in Notch's name were you thinking." He demanded, catching the former unicorn in surprise. Starlight quickly shifted to a glare of her own as she put her hands to her hips.

"What was I thinking? I woke up to an unfamiliar place and you expect me to not freak out," she demanded keeping her glare while she worked on looking for a way to get away. Now that she was looking at the stranger she saw that he had short silvery hair and light blue eyes. Looking down she took note of what appeared to be a white cloak with a long, grey silk cloth draped over his shoulders.

The crafter rolled his eyes, "Given that you were almost killed by a group of zombies you should at least be thankful that I came in time to save your sorry butt." She winced at those once as he continued. "Just so you know, it's dark out. That means that mobs will be out and about and given that you don't seem to have any weapons on you it would be a very bad idea to be alone out here."

Starlight lowered her gaze as she realized that he was right. The crafter's face softened as he spoke, "Look, I don't blame you from running away like that so why don't we head back over to my place before more mobs show up."

With no other choice she reluctantly nodded accepting his offer. He nodded back and turned in the direction of where she assumed his house would be.

As they were walking the crafter turned his head behind him, "by the way, mind giving me your name. My name's Silver Scorpion."

Raising and eyebrow she answered, "Starlight. Starlight Glimmer."

"Hmm. That's a pretty nice name," Silver replied as he turned his attention back to the direction he's heading, "Well, let's wait on asking questions once we get back to my place."

Nodding Starlight quickened her pace so she could catch up to him as they made their way back to Silver's cabin.

Author's Note

And there we go, another chapter done after seeing that the story got approved. I could've just had the story be auto approved, but I wanted be on the safe side since it's been a while since I've actually written anything on this site. And so we have an introduction to my Minecraft account as well as a look at what my version of Starlight Glimmer might look like. Also, not sure if I got Starlight's current personality correct so let me know if I need to make any changes. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter as I get back around to writing again.

On a side note if when I happen to feel motivated enough I'll get back to writing my Halo fic which seems to be doing fairly well. And for those of you who're worried that I had abandoned it, I apologize. Life has been pretty difficult over the past few years and only recently have I gotten the motivation I need to get back into writing. Hopefully you guys can understand the situation that I was in a look forward to when I write my next chapter.
