"Ugh"

Somewhere, some-when, someplace a monster sat, brooding on his past mistakes and wrongdoings. He thought and thought for many millennia, but only for a few seconds. He lived and died and thought and didn't. He was everything and he was nothing, his mind on display to the miasma of nothingness, to the many wandering nothings and everythings. He went to the end and the beginning searching for the idea. So far and so close in his mind. His limbs stomped and flapped and clamped and clawed as he went. His teeth chattered and chirped and bit and tore as he thought. He roared and sung and danced and pranced and devoured and produced and destroyed and created.

And Finally...

It came to him. He came to it. It sprung forth in a flurry, a brilliant plan.

And then he went tumbling and the plan became nothingness once again.

His body changed when he heard the crack of nothingness snapping open, he was torn from the nothingness and dropped like a brick. A purple flash ridding him of his foul aura. A snap sending him traveling straight to the ground. His eyes tasted and his tongue watched. His body twisted and warped, before settling on a patchwork life-form from a different when and where. From nothing and everything. His mind a cocktail of instincts, chaos, and harmony.

A rumbling snore tore through the forest as a slumbering beast quaked. He had been sleeping for a long time now, the comet he was brought in thawing over time as he slept. The crater he had caused hugged his body, the prime reason he was still asleep. The animals, curious of the snore, wandered closer to the crater, before another snore scared them enough for them to run off to safety. The sun rose once again, brilliant rays of glittering gold pleasantly coating the world. Birds chirped and sang, all kinds of animals pranced and wandered. The light rays splashed through the trees, directly onto the slumbering beast, upon a large eye and a tall rack of antlers.

A rumbling roar reverberated around the forest, echoing from a central point, a crater in the center of the forest.

He hadn't remembered being something when he last went to sleep, what gives this place a right to give him a form... Then again he didn't remember much of anything, only that he was nothing and everything at once, never this... Something

"!sittimiD cnuH !corporealmaldeB !elppalfmotgoR" He ranted and raved to the forest, stomping onwards, spewing forth a soup of syllables and sounds. Fire flung forth from his maw as he raged. Something inside him had changed, something personal and fundemental. His only real trait stripped from him by this world in some way. Acid pooled at his claws as he stomped, his body releasing the liquid as a way to decrease heat. A brilliant ball of churning magic congealed from in between the massive antlers atop his head, before flying free and going tumbling through the forest, a glittering ball of death and fire. His tail sweeped out behind him, knocking over at least a dozen trees and scattering splintered wood throughout the grove.

He screamed to the sky, letting loose his rage and fury, blazing green fire erupting from his nose, mouth and eyes. Tears leaked from his eyes only to dissolve as the fire grew.

His mind had been broken in the fall, a brilliant miasma of thoughts and feelings gone in an instant, all memories replaced with an impenetrable fog. His brain was reduced to that of an animal, a mess of instincts and emotion. He raged on through night and day, light and dark, days upon days of mindless anguish.

"What in the world is that?" A terrified purple pony screamed as she ran from a large glittering disco ball, anything that it went past was bathed in a deep purple light and changing color to a myriad of different colors, dominated by red and black in the pattern of flannel. As it washed over the purple pony, her fur changed, bright blue tufts of fur sprung forth from her purple hide. The purple, now also spotted, pony looked down at herself in shock, before running off, away from the rolling disco ball.

Several more ponies were changed before the elements and Princess Twilight arrived a brilliant, bright purple flash engulfing a small patch of ground in front of the large crystal castle. The disco ball was almost instantly stopped, wrapped in a purple glow as it was pulled elegantly through the air towards twilight.

"Don't worry everypony, we got the situation... handled?" Rainbow Dash started, before she turned to see the state of the town.

Half the town had been changed, many buildings now sporting new colors, the largest of all being town hall, which had changed into a frighteningly pink color with white polka-dots. Several ponies sat nearby, their fur changed in some spots to either a deep jet black or a bright neon blue. Though everypony was unharmed, this was certainly a crisis. This was chaos magic at work, and there was only one who could let loose such magic.

"Discord!" Twilight called, her voice carrying across the valley with a simple amplification spell.

The draconequus appeared with a pop, a look of pure joy on his face. "Why, hello there, Twilight, I'm sure this is about the chaos magic being used." Discord said as he rested an arm against the disco ball, a single claw trailing along the ball's side.

"Discord." Twilight began again, before she was interrupted by Discord again.

"Well! I'm happy to inform you that it wasn't me!" Discord shouted, a friendly smile upon his face.

Silence reigned for a few seconds, before Rainbow Dash burst out laughing, simply from the absurdity of Discord's statement. Applejack brought her hoof to her face as she sat down, grumbling something to herself. Rarity was still in shock over the disastrous color pallet of city hall. Pinkie was rapping her hoof against the side of the disco ball, producing a hollow sounding echo. Fluttershy simply stared at the now sweating Discord, his eyes locked onto hers.

Twilight simply sighed, "Discord, you don't have to lie to us, were not gonna put you back into a statue at any moment."

Discord responded by looking over at Twilight and producing a brilliant ball disco ball with moving panes of glass, orbiting his open paw. "This is what my disco balls look like!" He dropped it in front of Twilight, before turning to the huge ball and cracking it open with a tap. It rumbled for a second, before cracking in half, the inside coated in gems of all kinds and... What looked like many, many slugs. He did the same to his disco ball, and inside was simply a ton of butterflies. "See! Big difference." Discord said with crossed arms, Fluttershy's stare lessened, becoming a simple glare.

"Hold on, girls... He might be right." Twilight spoke, her head tilted to the side and a hoof on her chin. Her horn glowed for a second before her eyes were shrouded in a dark purple aura. Discord's ball was a brilliant shining gold, while the gigantic ball was coated in a dark green miasma of magic, it was engulfed in feelings of rage and desperation. The sight of the aura on the ball was enough for Twilight to gasp and shock, tears threatening to flow forth from her eyes. The spell was dispelled as he concentration broke.

"Twi? You alright?" Rainbow Dash asked, her laughing at ceased at Twilight's gasp, along with the rest of the group turning to look at Twilight in concern for her.

"Y-yeah it's just... That's definitely not Discord's... It feels... Just... Wrong!" She mumbled, stumbling over her words and stuttering occasionally, her wings fluffed out, backing away from the ball and pressing her side against Applejack's, Pinkie moving to press against Twilight's other side. The invading feelings were dispersed as her friends surrounded her. She was safe and she was secure, that desperation wasn't hers.

"Why don't we head back to the castle and relax before we get going on this adventure." Applejack said, nuzzling Twilight's cheek to reassure her of her safety.

"That's a wonderful idea!" Rarity spoke, a gentle smile on her face as she looked at Twilight.

"Do you think you could carry that over to the castle, Discord?" Fluttershy muttered, reaching down with a feather tip to let a slug crawl on.

"Of course, Dearest." Discord did as he was bid, snapping his fingers with a smile on his face, resulting in a loud 'Thump!' in the direction of the castle.
