Contamination

"Soar'in!Wake the hell up!"Rainbow Dash screamed.Soar'in's eyes shot open and he sat up to the wailing of town alarms."What the hell is going on?!?!"
"I don't know,but Celestia is calling all pegasi to Canterlot immedietly!"
"Well let's get going mabey we'll find out what's going on."With that Rainbow and Soar'in ran to the balcony and took off towards Canterlot.As the two flew over Ponyville,they saw ponies franticly running around with their belongings and families.Soar'in caught a glimps of a unicorn limping down the street,he pointed at her so Rainbow would see and he went down to her.When he landed near her he asked if she was okay,but got no response.He walked closer to her and touched her shoulder and she spun around and jumped towards him,her left eye was missing.Soar'in smashed his hoove into the side of her head and then kicked her over and lefted off and made sure Dash was with him."What the hell is she?!?!"Soar'in asked Dash,while they both stayed out of reach of the unicorn who was jumping at them and trying to bight them.Dash just stared at her and shook her head.Soar'in came closer to Dash and touched her shoulder."We should go now."he said.She nodded and followed him as they returned to their course.

Every town they flew over,they saw ponies who were missing limbs and on four different occasions,they saw the deformed ponies eating ones who were trying to escape.Every time Dash saw one of the "deformed" her expression became a little more uneased and Soar'in was begining to notice."Are you okay Dashie."He gave a weak smile with the question."Well do you think I'm okay,we've seen ponies eating each other!"She yelled at him.She could tell she hurt his feeling when she yelled at him and apologized for yelling.

After five or six hours of flying they reached the outter parts of Canterlot.When they came a little closer five gaurds flew to them and made sure they weren't,as the gaurds said,"infected".When they were cleared to enter one of the gaurds said to go to the barracks for gear if you are willing to defend the castle.Of course both Soar'in and Rainbow Dash agreed to enlist.They flew to the barracks and were given armor that royal gaurds wear and the Quater Master gave them both hoof daggers.They went on just like horse shoes,but they had small blades on the back for if you were confronted by infected.After they were geared and instructed on what to do and how to fight,they were sent to the castle it's self.As they approched a unicorn soilder stopped them and asked for their names and after he checked their names and positions,he told them to go to the Main Hall and stay on watch.As they came in,a familiar face walked up to Soar'in and gave him a hug."Spitfire?What are you doing here?"Soar'in asked."Probaly the same reason you're here,all pegasi were to report,so I did and we are Wonderbolts so that's probaly why we got put so close to Celestia."Spitfire explained."And you must be Rainbow Dash,the savior of Soar'in's mystical pie.Nice to meet you."Spitfire joked around."Um,actually I'm his marefriend now too."Rainbow smiled.Spitfire suddenly grew a wide grin and looked at Soar'in who began to turn red."So you did take my advice?"Soar'in nodded and looked at Dash who was obviously confused now."Spitfire said I should ask you on a date and well you know it from there."Soar'in explained.Suddenly there was a smash at the main door to the hall they were in.They all jumped toward the door and waited for what ever they could possibly wait for.The door smashed again and a gaurd yelled down from the tower"Infected at the door.Firing!"another gaurd yelled back "Confirmed,take the shot."Almost instantly after that an explosion rocked the front door and the three pegasi stood still watching and listening.A gaurd walked down through the stair well brhind the three and asked"Every pony okay?"They nodded and Spitfire let out a breath."This is gonna be fun....."she said.

After about five hours of watch,three new ponies came to relive the group.Instead of only pegasi though,it was two unicorns and an earth pony.They didn't pay much attention to it though and they gladly went to the the castle barracks for some sleep.They walked into the bunk room and it was empty except for two gaurds who were play a card game.The bunks were huge compared to the ones in the first barracks where they got they equiptment."One of the gaurds playing cards got up and said"You want your daggers off?"All of them nodded and he walked to Soar'in and motioned for him to put his front hoof up.He lefted his hoof and the gaurd tap the blade in a weird way and it fell off,but left the shoe on.The gaurd repeated this move on all of them and put there blades on a table and showed them how to put them back on in case of emergency or just back to duty.There was a different way to put them on for the two different circumstances.After all was said and done they all picked a bunk and plopped down in one.Spitfire stretched out and said"Damn,this bed could fit two ponies."One of the gaurds at the back heard and explained that most the gaurds that sleep in here are twice the size of the three pegasi.After a few minutes all of the ponies fell asleep including the two playing cards,but Rainbow Dash wasn't sleeping well as a dark nightmare haunted her dreams.

"Soar'in,what's wrong?"Rainbow Dash asked.
"I don't know,my head hurts so much.......oh Celestia it hurts."
"Can I help in any way?"
"I don't think you ca......................"Soar'in fell over,pasted out.Dash ran over to him and screamed for a gaurd to help.The door opened and Luna walked in and put her hoof on Dash's shoulder,who now had tears streaming down her face."Can you help him?"she cried.Luna shook her head and pointed to a window.Dash refused to leave Soar'in's side and then looked back to where he was,but he was gone.Luna pointed to the window again.Dash stood and walked to the window and saw Ponyville in flames and many infected chasing after the living.She came closer to the window and one of the soilders who where fighting the infected saw her looking at him and began to walk to window.It was too dark for Dash to see him yet.He finally came close enough to the window for her to see him,it was Soar'in and he was covered in blood.He gave her a weak smile through the window and put his hoof to the window,Dash put her hoof to his on the window and the background behind Soar'in changed.There were hundreds of infected standing a few feet behind him and he knew it his smile became weaker and mouthed the words"I love you,now and forever."He gave one more smile and then turned to face the crowd of infected and charged into them knocking many over and then slashing with his daggers.The window started to fade and Luna appeared behind Dash."This is your one and only warning.Do not return to the town you have just seen or your fate will be the same."She warned and everything went black.
