Baa-Ram-Ewe!
453. All In: Incoming Heroes!
Previous ChapterNext Chapter-Equus, Ponyville, Jade-
“I’m honestly surprised you managed to restrain yourself the whole trip.” Why wouldn’t one be able to Fizzy, my beloved shadowy tempest in a tea pot? The cute mare with those beautiful vibrant glaring eyes. Also that she was fit and had muscles, on a unicorn, was hot. “Even Silvers managed to not cause an incident… the one I’m truly angry at is Mara.”
“Sorry…” Mara stated, the sabretooth tiger was currently separated from her sister Maria and Marie with her tail between her legs. She was in the naughty corner.
“I was watching Jade and Silvers like a hawk the entire time and nothing happened, we even had a nice trip down the River of Denial with inner tubes and even had a very nice spiced campfire baked piranha lunch.” Fizzy continued while glaring at Mara. “How in the world were you the one that caused the problems and not Jaded ‘Mirage, the enemy of Saddle Arabia’ La Perm? I was expecting Jade to go crazy and do something to Saddle Arabia at some point.”
“Not going to lie to my family, I still want to.” I said loudly and clearly as I cuddled Silvers to my chest and they mewled happily at the affection snuggle. “Also my plan worked perfectly I’ll have you know, all eyes were on us and not the secret shipment of quick growing blobs of living gelatin… the most annoying flavor no less! It was kind of hard for me to get the ‘battle durians’ shipped in from Huoshan for it, but I’m sure the Saddle Arabians will appreciate the unique flavor. I’m sure most have heard of the Smooze right? Well Saddle Arabia now has an edible flavorful version of it… and the most evil thing about it is that its sugar free. If you need to know, I set that up four months in advance, so there was no chance of anyone stopping ‘this’ gelatin attack.”
They forgot that I could repeat plans and make them even worse the second time around.
“Ugh, Jaded… why, I thought you were doing so good?!” Fizzy resisted face hoofing and sighed, I still had immediatley told after we had already basically arrived back home. “Come on… family hug, I’m needy you jerks.”
“We’re all jerks here Fizz.” I said as I rubbed up against Fizzy affectionately and licked the tip of her nose, she still wrapped a hoof around me and squeezed roughly and even brought all of Maries into the snuggle session. She idly levitated and rocked Silvers in the air carefully off to the side as she tried to strangle me… affectionately of course.
“Wait… so Saddle Arabia is trying to be weirder than Ponyville now… I can’t let that happen!” Pinkie Pie declared with a raised hoof before she ran off. She eventually ran back and glared at me. “Also sugar free… like Fizzlepop said… really, REALLY NOW?! I know you dislike Saddle Arabia, but I didn’t think you’d be ‘THAT’ petty evil about it!”
Within a week Saddle Arabia would be declared weirder than Ponyville, mostly just because Pinkie Pie showed up there. This was much to the pink hyper magical earth pony’s chagrin.
Apparently the yaks of Yakyakistan had a blast fighting the edible ‘battle durian’ flavored slime monsters that that were now a common sight in Saddle Arabia as a part of its ecosystem and Prince Rutherford of the yaks declared it one of the greatest, smelliest and most smash happy battles of all time having fought the initial swarm.
Yep the slimes are now a pest species of Saddle Arabia as a self-replicating unique desert dessert for connoisseurs or gourmets, always very distinctly smelled before seen.
Yaks actually liked ‘battle durian’ flavored things, who knew.
-Pokémon Realm, Ransei, news-
Arceus broadcasted the battle that united all of Ransei, at least those who weren’t currently embattled with the Enemy Programs or tearing apart the Moon Cell Mystery Dungeons with everything they had. The god of Pokémon wasn’t about to distract his subjects in the middle of something important.
Fifteen times King Evan was felled, fifteen times he got up to keep fighting to unite the continent that looked like Arceus from the side.
Evan even voided an evolution at one point and kept fighting with a broken body, that he even felled a Hydreigon was a great upheaval in itself… but it was also Lord Nobunaga that he defeated that really made the point stick.
When both Oda and Evan went down, the Eevee was the one that struggled onto his front paws… his back legs were long since broken at that point.
A sixteenth time the bloody and still barely aware battered Eevee stood up to make sure that if anyone wanted to challenge him on uniting Ransei, then they had to go through him first. Nobody wanted to challenge ‘crazy’.
Everyone just blinked collectively at the same time and Arceus was there, as if he always had been there and had been watching among the crowd the entire time as he stepped forward.
Nobody had dared attack Evan as Arceus, the god of Pokémon and ‘the legendary’ themselves, had shown up to stare down at the Eevee.
Evan stared into Arceus’s eyes, he didn’t blink, he didn’t back down and he would have fought to the death if it was needed. The little Eevee was declared to have an unbending spirit despite a thoroughly broken body. The little fox did just fight a dragon to within a few inches of his life.
Oda only needed to go down once and stay down, Evan refused to stay down until he was dead and he absolutely proved his willpower unbreakable to the dragons of the kingdom of Dragnor. He also proved a legend about uniting Ransei, if after more than fifty years have passed since the last time he was summoned, Arceus would appear when Ransei becomes united for a single cause again.
It didn’t matter what that cause was, as long as Ransei united for it and fighting didn’t even need to be a part of the equation… but it was the fun way for Pokémon to do things and so they tended to go the route of fighting. King Evan went mostly the route of diplomacy.
Ransei, as one, started working to take the fight to the major enemy that was Moon Cell and they would quickly have their forces in Moon Cell’s realm soon enough.
Only all of Ransei wouldn’t be able to be the next to arrive on the field of battle. As that honor, surprisingly enough, belonged to the Digital Realms of Yggdrasil System and whatever they could spare with the enemy crystal alien super computer of genocide in their systems.
-Pokémon Afterlife Bureau, Yveltal-
Yveltal the ‘Y’ shaped Pokémon bird god of death had been busy in making sure the magical computer couldn’t reuse or steal souls that fell in Ransei, the Ghost type Pokémon were perfectly safe. Hundreds fell, but Moon Cell was having a problem grasping at any souls without a Velber to vacuum them up.
The recent additions to Yveltal’s collection were the inner sailor scouts, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Artemis and Jupiter.
Jupiter was sent to her afterlife family to be reincarnated in a world where crazy stuff didn’t happen to her, where she could be happy. She kind of deserved it for going above and beyond while under Moon Cell’s control to rat out all her friends’ abilities, so a nice quiet and boring world would be nice for her.
So maybe the Cake Masters world? Jupiter never shied away from a little spice.
Mars was being sent to a world of demons that needed all the help it could get. Hopefully some growth would at least let her break out of her shell this time… that or put her with Tanya Degurechaff in a fit of irony, might actually save her from that jerk Being X if done correctly. Also Mars had a thing for blondes that was intrinsic to her soul and couldn’t be removed, so Yveltal didn’t bother trying. Choices, choices, Yveltal kicked it to the Pokémon deer of life Xerneas for a final decision.
Venus… well he was definitely separating her soul from Artemis for multiple reasons, she needed a world where she could have some friends and a functionally normal and ‘absolutely stable’ relationship not built on bizarre circumstances.
Artemis was far worse than a Wooloo and a Wooloo’s crimes were usually benign and only trying too hard to love everything all at once without breaking taboos. Not once has a Wooloo broken said taboos as a faithful flock.
Yveltal simply put a mental sticky note on the white furred Mau’s soul and passed it to Xerneas for judgement, he didn’t want that soul molesting any other girl’s souls by proximity and it was surprising he even managed to have a child with Luna. The continuation of the Mau as an uplifted species was never going to be a thing.
If Luna the Mau eventually came in, she would quickly be given a break after being driven to insanity… maybe as a pony with a loving sister in a friendship based world?
-Moon Cell, Inner Realm, Desert of Devastation, middle of the ruined Crystal Maze region, Castle Alexander, Ocellus-
Pom’s offensive got better now that those servants were out of the way and two even retreated, didn’t know if the black cat counted as a full on servant though so it was two and a sub servant at best. If there was such a thing.
It had me wondering what was up with that, individually they weren’t nearly as much of a problem as Merak had been. Maybe if they had worked together instead of being split up and taken down individually by multiple opponents?
Had Merak not been as lazy as he was, we would have entered this inner realm in a far worse state.
-Nexus side of the battlefield, BB-
Oh right… they weren’t connected to their planets were they, so they drew an egregious amount of power from Moon Cell. No wonder they fell so fast, even if they could call up an equivalent of their recorded power temporarily as servants.
At least Moon and Tuxedo were powerful enough without planetary connections and didn’t need them, but summoning the outers now would likely end as poorly… as the inners. Also the fact that the inners couldn’t be revived told me the enemy action was preventing us from resurrecting servants back to our side of the field.
Might be summoning the outers anyway, very few beings can stand up to the spear wielded by the Chrysomallus. Saturn would definitely be hard for them to deal with quickly and a good match to slow down that ewe’s constant forward progress.
“Sending requisition form… sailor senshi outers, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto and Saturn… with the Silence Glaive.” A pause and then granted by a desperate Moon Cell system as Moon and Tuxedo quietly waited next to me, the summoning sequence began for the four servants.
The Silence Glaive, Scythe of Silence, a conceptual weapon that is the end of all things… how well will it compare to the likes of the Rhongomyniad?
-Castle Alexander, Ocellus-
However with most of our forces out there on the attack we’re mostly down to a skeleton crew of noncombatants in the form of the Miltanks and the Gazimon. Elise and Copen were here, but Artoria and Mash were out bringing in as many APs as they could field from their medieval forces, Fou would be bringing his wild beasts to the front eventually too.
Fou still wanted to hunt Pom afterwards, but he didn’t want anyone else to be the one to end Pom before he’s done with her. It sounded more playful than evil from the way Mash tells it, but Pom still didn’t like being near Fou for notable reasons.
Jeanne didn’t want to leave us undefended. We only took out every EP in a five mile radius, every EP beyond that radius was now showing up on the horizon and there were still thousands of them even as Pom tried get whatever forces we could cobble together to punch through to Moon Cell’s Nexus to get inside and destroy the core. Things weren’t going well on that front, Pom and the others had been stalled out by their numbers… at least they were attracting the brunt of what Moon Cell could throw at us.
We were the last bastion of the counter invasion force. If this castle and its self-produced territory fell, then there would be no safe haven to transfer supplies to the front from.
The Mirage Collective with their leader Mirage Mew was sending in combat aid behind us and Mirage Mew pledged to take the field themselves soon.
Moon Cell was actively trying to cut off our stressed supply lines, as we thought it would, since we got this close the nexus. Pom still had like ten miles of EPs to battle through towards the floating cube in the distance.
The Combat APs from Mare Melum Harmony Programs were also trickling in, but it wasn’t going to be nearly enough to save us from the hordes of Enemy Programs bearing down on us. The Skvader Caerbannogs were very much welcome on the field of battle or delivering supplies to us or our fielded soldiers, their utility and support were always a welcome sight.
Moon Cell has tried to focus on stopping them from reaching Castle Alexander or the defensive anti-air firepower in the form of the Blumebears. Moon Cell’s aerial forces were becoming quite a problem and we didn’t exactly have the ability to keep this up for much longer, giant wasps, strange flying vehicles, flying saucers, flying horseshoes with strange grenade happy turtle things… nobody could know how many destroyed worlds Moon Cell was pulling from for its aerial forces.
We were surrounded, but we weren’t dead yet and weren’t doing too bad either… now if only Castle Alexander wasn’t currently experiencing extreme power drain because of its most powerful ability ‘Divine Judgement’.
We cleared a space, but we were about to be hammered from all sides instead of just being hit with swarms of aerial enemies bypassing our front lines to give us trouble. Our Blumebears setting up cycling Torneko mine defenses wouldn’t hold them off for much longer. Every available AP that wasn’t needed for defense, was being put out there to run to front line immediately as soon as they formed.
We’d be soon crushed under the weight of the enemy forces if Pom and the others couldn’t break through Moon Cell’s defensive lines quickly enough to take out Moon Cell. They currently couldn’t so… yeah… this was a major problem.
“Ocellus, sensors are back up, unknown signatures are coming in from our left… do you think it might be those Eater things?” Smolder asked as she was particularly worried about those things when they ate half of Midgar before we collapsed more than half the city to destroy them while destroying another quarter of the city with Castle Alexander itself.
Had there been any living beings that we needed to be worried about, the situation of destroying a city of that size would have been more horrifying than it was. NPCs like Cait Sith weren’t too worried, they were preserved information and souls forced to carry out their jobs by Moon Cell.
They even showed up briefly before Geoff and Aurora’s militia forces appeared, thankfully overriding said Eater invasion. It was still a major worry as we couldn’t handle an invasion of Eaters suddenly attacking us right now on top of everything else going on with me having to coordinate a brain destroying load of information at once.
It’s a good thing I’m used to the mentally crushing pressure, I will begrudgingly admit that ‘Bad Queen’ Chrysalis at least prepared me for all of this.
I was about to answer Smolder’s worry as I looked over the freshly rejuvenated sensors that came back online.
We were surrounded by an angry mass of red bearing down on us. Blue was our forces and behind us more blue appeared as Artoria and Mash finally arrived with their AP forces. The unknown signatures weren’t labeled until we got an idea of what they were, if they were just more EPs, then they’d be labeled accordingly. Like we don’t have enough enemy programs already.
The only empty ground we would soon see was between us and the front lines of battle being led by Geoff at the moment, as Pom moved up to support our Aurora allies. I hoped Maiden Jig was okay back in Aurora with just Tauros, if anyone were to attack Aurora now they’d probably be entirely defenseless.
“Cid can we get visuals back up? Sensor screens showing unusual activity to our left.” If it was the Eaters, we were in for a Tartarus of a fight trying to survive them as there wasn’t much edible in the desert and we were a big juicy target for them to chew on next to Moon Cell.
“Almost got it… thirty seconds… are we about to come under attack?” If there was a godsend, it was our engineer Cid for sticking with us through all of this mess since we recruited him.
“Negative, we’re still in the clear for another five minutes before the EP waves coming at both our sides hit us. Pom, be aware Grabbers are around, Moon Cell has stalled you long enough to field a few. Sensors show seismic activity in your area.” My ability for mental calculations grew quite a lot, also being mission control was becoming a thing for me. The visuals came up and… I blinked… I blinked again and then just stared wide eyed. “Seventy percent of the APs around Castle Alexander, defenses to our front and back, focus on the aerial forces. Once our allied forces from Artoria and Mash arrive, they will cover our backs, then change to forward defnse… yes, we have allies inbound from left!”
(Music: ‘Hoshi No Kaabi- Warp Star’ or ‘Stadium- Kirby Air Ride’)
The visuals showed the Metal Walkers brigade as we saw them passing through the digital realm, they weren’t alone as they faded into existence on the horizon behind the wall of enemies coming at us. They came along with what Pom had described as the Kings Kames, Skate Scamps, Data Divers, Basher Bullies, Pink Poopers and even Musical Maestros led by a dancing penguin with a serious looking peg legged penguin at his side and they were coming in fast.
They weren’t the only ones coming though… they weren’t alone, not by a long shot. A majority of their forces were coming here to reinforce us, however that wasn’t the best news… that was seen in the next instant
A red spark appeared high in the sky at the left side of Castle Alexander and I turned visuals up and blinked a single arcing lance like red light suddenly burst apart, billions upon billions of branches expanding from one point… the air, no… reality itself, looked to have broken in sudden an instant and cracked.
I knew that the spears struck the hearts of the enemy before it was ever thrown. That was a strange feeling, because the only being I knew that could do that was...
Suddenly there were only a quarter of the thousands to possible millions of EPs there previously were on the left side of Castle Alexander and thousands more Digimon appearing by the second following them. What were at first a swarm of smaller Digimon, some of which I recognized like Commandramon, soon started growing into monstrously sized Digimon coming in and a lot of them had dinosaur like aesthetics and there were just as many flying as there were walking on the ground.
That’s when Cu Chulainn landed and raised his right spiked fist into the air while letting out a soundless roar on the visuals as he pointed towards us and then at Moon Cell’s nexus. With him were several beings, including that owl archer that once shot at Pom… the small group following Cu Chulainn’s lead broke off and started for the front lines including a white wolf with red markings, a familiar yet far friendlier looking noivern, the nine tailed fox that oddly called Pom ‘husband’ and an indescribable variety of weird beings surged forth onto the battlefield with them. Likely all of them were Digimon.
A minute later, things started to look brighter as on our right more signatures started to appear, looking at visuals on the horizon I saw a brown paw fade into existence, this was soon followed by the confident eyes of King Evan and what had to be every single last combat capable Pokémon in the Ransei region that wasn’t needed for their kingdoms defenses slowly fading into existence behind him.
He looked at the castle tilted his head and he pointed out the battle field where arcing electro balls were trying to puncture through the thick wall of EPs. The Kings, Queens, Overlords and other leaders of Ransei immediately started forth towards the front lines with their strongest contingents, while the rest of their armies started hitting the backsides of the enemies on our right with a brutal assault that the enemy tried to fend off against.
King Evan charged forward heedless of the many, MANY, Enemy Programs in his path. What happened next was a large swath of EPs being burned down by a raining what looked like a ‘Divine Judgement’ on our right side. The sensors showed a depletion of more than eighty five percent of the enemies on our right.
Stalking forth, the one who had unleashed an attack just as, if not far more powerful than Cu Chulainn’s was Arceus. The majestic god slowly stalked forward at an even pace while staring at the nexus, not running forward like his children the Pokémon. The god didn’t seemed to be bothered at all by what was happening around them as they slowly took the field at an even pace.
We weren’t alone anymore on the front lines, for help had arrived and it would be quite welcome even as the number of EPs surged around Moon Cell’s Nexus and it recovered from the earlier Divine Judgement bombardment.
-Stalled on the front lines, nearing the Moon Cell Nexus and approximately ten miles out, Pom-
“What was that?” I asked as I continued to try and bludgeon my way through the front lines and watched as the Assassin Reaper finally started dissolving.
Dolly was getting hammered above us and we were almost dry of aerial forces and our ground forces were starting to suffer from the Moon Cell Watcher’s bombarding us with lasers.
It had looked like Cu Chulainn’s attack, then another Divine Judgment went off, but it wasn’t caused by Castle Alexander this time.
A swarm of incoming Moon Cell Watcher’s were quickly blown away by what remained of our air forces. It kept them from tearing apart our front lines. The Wooloo and Dubwool kept trying to push the enemy defenses back and break them despite us being hit from three sides at once, they seemed to enjoy the struggle at least.
The Commandramon were much better pilots than the Rider Zealots for the Jet Magitek Armors, Dolly was at the head of their two squadrons trying to keep the enemy air off of us. As they had been attempting to beat us into the dirt.
“I have returned!” Stated Dragoon Fenix as he came falling out of the sky, bodily smashing through a swarm of Moon Cell Watcher’s and landed in sand kicking up huge pillars of the stuff and then the four legged took up a position with shielding me and several friends from hundreds of projectiles with its shields.
It continued forward unheeded… but it hadn’t come from Castle Alexander, how did it appear here? Last I saw it was once a pile of wrecked metal and blue fluids.
That’s when the combat in the air suddenly changed and I looked back to see the Skarmory unit flying off to the right of our forces, suddenly a large bird streaked in and tore the enemy out of the air with numerous Flying Type Pokémon.
“Ah yeah, Masumune Date in the house from Avia to the battlefront!” Shouted the giant bird as he flew near me and he continued to careen through numerous enemies without stopping… or even getting injured. He eventually swooped around and stopped above me flapping his powerful wings. “Well if it isn’t the hero of Team Harmony, don’t worry about the enemy air. There soon won’t be any left because Avia is in the skies! And I guess Dragnor is helping too… need an escort or aerial support, well we’ve got you covered hero!”
“I don’t like being called a hero.” I grumbled loudly.
“Hey, don’t be like that, party over here!” Masamune Date yelled off to the right as he took to the skies. “Team Harmony representing and still alive after being stuck behind enemy lines for so long!”
“Nice to see you’re doing alright little lady!” Stated Etemon’s voice, but when I looked I saw a mass of metal and muscle. “Aw yeah, I’ve gotten bigger guns since I last saw you. Coming through!”
The metallic Etemon charged off.
“Sorry I’m late… but an Eevee needed to beat an insanely tough dragon into submission.” Kenshin said as he appeared and slashed tends of EPs away from Shanty in a swirling storm of cutting arcs that clearly amazed and enthralled Shanty. “Illusio forces, Mentalis, focus on help the injured and protect the weakened! I take it the castle is your fallback point? All forces take the injured back there for healing as needed!”
It took a simple nod for me to confirm and with that Kenshin was off as psychic Pokémon teleported in to support the battle line.
Overhead I saw Latias, Latios and… a digimon that looked like them blasting through enemy air forces like butter, large Digimon were actively stomping the EPs into paste to the left as they forced their way towards the front lines, Pokémon were launching attacks in every direction. It was chaos and we were actually starting to push forward.
We still needed more though, it still wasn’t enough!
“For the doggy messiah!” Renamon yelled, along with several other Renamon as they started firing diamond leaves into the enemy masses as they came in from the left.
“For the doggy messiah!” A group of artic canines from Nixtorm roared forth from the right, yelling at the same time as the Renamon.
They all stopped to stare at one another for a moment in the middle of an active warzone as they continued to avoid attacks. As one they all nodded in some kind of unspoken agreement and formed up a defensive perimeter around me.
“For she is sweet and kind, the belly rubs are divine!” They yelled in unison much to my embarrassment, I really should stop giving so many canines affection if this is how they turn out.
What was it about me that engendered trust, love and absolutely insane religious zealotry in canines?! I even hesitatingly included Dolly in the insane zealotry department mentally and she didn’t even hold it against me for thinking it. The word ‘fair’ came from Dolly sending me a mental hug as she bursts through the air shredding whatever enemies were trying to bypass us to hit Castle Alexander.
All over the battlefield, friends and…
“WAGGGHHH!” It sounded like Ogremon was here too and he sounded rougher than I remembered his voice being, if the darkness and flying bodies of dissolving EPs was anything to go by he was happy to be here.
Even some enemies were helping us with fighting Moon Cell.
Ultros was more of a neutral entity and even he was on the field of battle tearing through things with his purple tentacles. His loyal Monitamon followers blasting elements and the Black Widow plowing through enemy after enemy as it stomped forward… never wanted to see that thing again, but apparently it was a good thing it was on our side.
“Pom, it’s so good to see you!” I found myself being hugged by a giant rabbit. “It’s me Jiri, need some help? I’ve become a Lopunny and my Bear Brawlers unit is on the case!”
Jiri had turned into a Lopunny and bounded off into battle followed by a gaggle of evolved bears. I wonder if I would eventually inform her that they might be sweet on her as more than friends. Didn’t matter at the moment because they were tearing through the enemy.
“Ice Type Bear is glad to see non Pokémon friend is mostly in one piece.” As eloquent as ever said a familiar if bigger ice bears voice, he set off after Jiri with his friends.
“I think I already have more than enough help.” The two worlds we were trying to save were apparently quite tired of Moon Cell’s invasion and everyone was converging on us here.
Even Hideyoshi wielding a staff was blazing a trail towards the front lines in cartwheels of flames. It was mystifying, but we still didn’t have enough to puncture the forces even if we had pushed the front lines.
“… guy’s, I can carry us in closer, give me a moment to turn into Cargomon!” Sami suddenly called out and waved me over as she gunned down what looked like harpies, a few giant wasps and an ugly flying bull thing. “Pom can you get Dolly and the Commandramon to cover us? I’m going to try and bust the front line by flying us on a one way tip.”
I nodded and sent a message to Dolly and called up the Commandramon on the headset to be ready to cover us. Canard blasted several enemies out of the air with a cluster of exploding digital pucks, he was getting really good at those slap shots.
“Mom, I think we all might be close to achieving our mega forms.” Dormarch announced as he and Frizzle continued to battle in their Rookie forms. “If our partners put themselves in danger, which includes yourself… we might be able to break our limits.”
“That would be helpful, but I would rather you didn’t evolve out of stress.” Looking around I finally spotted Geoff calling another unite command to blasts a series of rounds into the horde, the soundwaves positively shattering large amounts of enemies, yet for every one destroyed several more took its place and Moon Cell had an infinite supply to throw at us.
“Stress is kind of the best time for us digimon partners, since it’ll help us keep ‘you’ alive.” Frizzle stated on the rare occasion where she actually talked as we gathered together.
“Commandramon, warp digivolve too… Cargodramon!” One second Sami was a small orange lizard with guns, the next she was a flying tiltrotor vehicle with even bigger gun. Digimon were quite weird when it came to evolution, at least Pokémon made some sense with their evolutions giving them a change to suit multiple environments better. “Now get in my belly!”
At what point would transforming into a tiltrotor aircraft be normal for somethings evolutionary progression, also she was going to be much faster than an airship so there was that in Sami’s favor.
“You do realize how wrong that can be taken Sami.” Canard stated blandly before hopping aboard her opened side.
“Don’t know if I can touch on that without sounding insensitive… so I won’t.” Still, Dazzle hopped aboard with Frizzle.
“Oh come on, it’s not as bad as if I were to say the words ‘I enjoy all of you being inside of me’.” Going to ignore that Sami even said that and didn’t say the words ‘and I mean it too’, since we would literally be inside of her as she took off from the ground.
“Geoff, if you survive this, much less me, I might kiss you for showing up when we needed you the most.” I said as Geoff turned my way with a vibrant smile. I shook my head. “MIGHT, not will.”
“I’ll take it!” Geoff stated loudly, give him an inch and he perks up like the world was his pearl. “Move forward guys, this is going to be the biggest battle of our lives!”
“You not be leaving without us Pom!” Shanty, along with Dodo and Favela all hopped onboard. We were at Sami’s maximum capacity.
I hopped inside my friend in the form of a flying vehicle and we took to the air, I waved to the Masumune Date guy with a hoof as we passed by while ascending and he nodded as Sami started forward above the more ground bound EPs.
Missiles and bullets started pouring out of Sami’s body in highly destructive manner a second later as we took off over the enemy battle lines. Dragons and Flying types soaring forth and colliding with the horrible enemy aerial defenses as they strafed the enemy ground forces intermittently.
“I saw what you’re doing here and I want a part in it! Metal Walkers, help clear the road for our friends again!” It was that Giromon again, he revved his chainsaw and a number of flying metallic ball shaped digimon surged forth. “Bwahhahaha, I hope they see us coming!”
-Pokémon battle line, Primarina-
I remember being rescued from that castle and now I can return the favor… I had a blue water crystal at my neck and a song in my heart.
“AhhhhhhhhhahhhhhhhhhhhhhhAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH~!” A massive ocean size orb of water blotted out the sky above the other Pokémon as they waited for me to launch my attack. Fontaine had the best artillery force in the world and I was about to hit the enemy with an ocean of sound. “Oceanic Operetta!”
After the front lines of the enemy ground forces were blasted away by a deluge of water, I bowed down and then settled back with Grit and the Fontaine artillery forces.
Grit grinned and held up two fingers and then aimed them out across the battlefield.
-Digimon battle line, a digimon Black Wargreymon-
I watched as a massive number of the enemy programs get hit with an ocean sized wave of destruction that washed them away and found myself wanting to match that power and find the one who did it so I can introduce myself to them.
“Well we can’t let them show us up now can we?” I was a big bipedal guy in black armor, I stalked forward slowly and drew on all the darkness of negativity around me and brightened everyone’s day by leaving the positive emotions alone as I drew any negativity to me. Said negativity included that of my enemy, I would save the digital world I’ve come to protect. “Gaia destroyer!”
I sent an equally massive wave of negativity energy into our enemies’ front lines from the opposite side. Nothing like trying to show up an ally by one upping them.
Now to seek out the one that created that wave of destruction before and we would compare notes… eventually I would be a bouncer and partner to a very pretty, if slightly scarred, singer.
-Castle Alexander, Ocellus-
Did someone just suck away all the trauma and negativity in the area with that attack?
I feel… amazing! I could barely sense Pom’s anxiety, which was still there and highly muted.
“Okay, Ozzy, what happened, you’re looking too giddy in the middle of a battlefield.” Smolder stated also looking like her negative mood was removed. “Also what happened to all the negativity in the area?”
-Skies over the desert of devastation, Pom-
Where did most of my anxiety just go? I should not feel this good being in the middle of a warzone.
Sami shuddered and shook as various impacts hit her body as she flew over the battle field and tried to pry a way through the heavy aerial defenses.
“We’re approaching the target, they are not going to let us through since they know you’re onboard me Pom.” It was a little weird hearing Sami’s voice come from everywhere in her body.
A missile rose up and was about to strike us when a small blob of water struck it and said small high speed blast of water, blew apart another EP from hitting us.
“They be thinking they can be stopping us at this point?” Shanty stated as she and Favela relaxed with Dodo. The goat chuckled audibly as she imbibed some pecha berry rum. “That is being a very cute idea.”
“Don’t taunt them too loudly Shanty, who knows what they still have waiting for us… Jupiter implied there were four more of their number that weren’t there before Moon and Tuxedo retreated.” Also the fact that we might actually run into them was a non-zero chance and I have the personification of ‘Misfortune’ as a friend on speed dial to ask how they could make my life worse on a moment’s notice.
“How would they even be knowing?” Shanty stated as Sami was rocked by several explosions.
“It sounds suspiciously close to tempting fate, that’s how!” I stated audibly, Dormarch shivered as did everyone else who knew me and everyone currently inside of Sami and Sami herself knew me very well.
“We’re starting to take too much heat and don’t think I can get us much closer. Also spotted some more servants in sailor fukus, Pom’s right there are four more of them. At least the ones we previously defeated aren’t back.” Well that’s good news Sami, because I don’t think I could face Jupiter a second time after splitting her in half in such a violent manner. “A ferret, a weasel, a black cat and… a lizard.”
“Get as far as you can, we’ll throw out Dormarch and Frizzle’s Ultimate evolutions if we have to.” My response was met with nods from Dormarch and both Dazzle and Frizzle as they gained determined looks. “Dazzle will need to decide what kind of energy she’ll be giving to Frizzle for it while we still have a another minute or two.”
“That would be more like thirty seconds, they’re really hammering at me here even with a lot of our allies taking up airspace!” Sami stated as she swerved side to side in the air wildly and I think we might have flipped upside down for a moment.
“I have an idea as to why we’re taking a lot of heat, Moon Cell really doesn’t like me.” I would not be wrong about it either, Moon Cell was quite insistent that I not get any closer to it.
“At this point I’m surprised the feeling isn’t mutual.” Canard grumbled as Sami took another painful hit that made our transport grunt audibly. He’s really come to care for his partner
“I’m more upset that I’m actual target of importance, than actually capable of fully outright hating something.” We still had to take down Moon Cell though, that was something I was guaranteed to do.
“Going down to a landing zone, clearing what I can on the way in, this is going rough.” Sami called out as we all felt her sharply nosedive. “Hold on to something!”
The entire world started spinning as we held onto Sami’s insides, I felt a little awkward about it when I took a breather and used it to get some air into my lungs… then realized that the breather was probably coming from Sami’s lungs and shivered.
We eventually came close to the ground and started to skim across the top of it.
“Open both sides Sami!” I called out as Dormarch’s digivice started glowing brightly, the sides opened into a hail of energy, bullets and a variety of elements in the form of projectiles. “Go Dormarch!”
“Frizzle!” Dazzle called out a second later at the other side of Sami the flying transport while gripping and loaded up the other Digivice with elemental energy.
Garummon and a dragon energy powered Wargrowlmon dropped out of Sami.
“Atomic Blaster!” The squeaky pitched voice did not actually fit something of that size, Frizzle immediately blasted an area in front of Sami.
Frizzle cleared a decent sized road with the two powerful beams from her chest as she spread a pair of giant metallic wings to go with the metal axe arms. This was going to give us space so we could hop out as Sami slowed down to a hover above ground to drop us off.
Dormarch meanwhile started to zip around and fire lasers in a sweeping manner to clear up space and to help ease up the fire incoming at Dragon Wargrowlmon from the EPs all around us.
I hopped down, followed by Dodo, Shanty and Favela while Canard and Dazzle hopped out on the other side.
“Let’s go!” Canard called out as he readied his hockey stick for a fight and started forward as Sami quickly rose back into the air to avoid getting fired on. Sami looked to have taken several painful hits while carrying us this far, she still had quite a bit of fight in her.
Looking around, I could see that we had cleared more than half the distance and the nexus was close enough that it loomed over us all. I wasn’t standing still while doing this though, oh no, this would have been the height of stupidity in an active warzone where I’m a primary high value target.
I was running for the Nexus, but trying not to outpace Canard as Sami, Dormarch and Frizzle gave us cover.
“Come on Frizzle, to the front!” Dazzle called out urging her partner forward through a wall of fire coming at us from all sides and push forward for us, swing her large bladed arms and blasting a pass to the nexus. Most of said fire was aimed at me as I moved to use the Rhongomyniad as shelter to cover Canard and myself from being gunned down, there were so many projectiles that I couldn’t feasibly block them all.
Canard was setting our pace and he had Equus level Olympic runner status… which was a little slow for me, but I wasn’t leaving a friend behind to the hordes trying to close in on us. I was disrupting Moon Cell’s entire battle line by existing and continuing to not die in short order.
“World Shaking!” The attack wasn’t one of ours, it was a powerful vibrating wave of energy.
Despite her massive size, Frizzle managed to actually dodge the equally massive attack that came from a shorted haired blonde biped ferret wielding a sword. Next to the ferret was an aquamarine haired a little past her shoulders was a biped weasel with a violin. Behind them was a black cat with shoulder length raven hair with a glaive that gave off similar feelings to the Rhongomyniad. Further behind all of them there was a staff wielding green lizard that glared at us with waist length green hair, possibly ankle length considering the small bun.
Apparently these were the outers as Moon and Tuxedo stood behind them.
“Hmph… didn’t think you’d survive to make it this far, you are quite a thorn. I am simply BB, Moon Cell does not want you to get any closer to the nexus.” The purple haired squirrel stated with a twitching purple and white furred tail in black clothing stated blandly. She had rapier on her hip and she didn’t seem keen on using it quite yet, she had a calculating look on her face. “Please die so that I may fulfill my duty.”
As she said that BB’s eyes glowed red and every EP suddenly surged in from all sides. We would have to fight them and the enemy servants, this was going to be a rough battle. Also the fact that BB can control all the EPs directly meant that she had to be something like Moon Cell, I can’t let her walk away from this battle.
“Gae Bulg!” Was that Cu Chulainn?! All the EPs nearest to us were pierced and quickly evaporated by a beam of branching red light. Was that how the attack was supposed to work? Wow… “We’ll take care of the enemy soldiers, while you deal with them. It’s nice to see you again in better circumstances. If one could call the fate of three worlds better circumstances.”
Three… oh right, Moon Cell’s realms, guess Cu Chulainn was thinking of the full scope of what we were dealing with. I’ll have to keep that in mind myself that it’s not just the Digital or Pokémon realm we were saving, we could probably liberate the Moon Cell realms for Cait Sith and the other trapped souls as well.
“Spirit Shackle!” Stated a familiar cloaked owl Pokémon. Arrows rained down on an entire patch of EPs freezing them in place. “Sorry about shooting at you a while back, I had some issues with being territorial. Name’s Robin Hood.”
“Hey, guess what, I made some friends Pom!” Elli yelled as she flew over us as a Noivern and blasted away some more EPs from our rear with a powerful Boom Burst. Nice to see her doing well and wasn’t the evil trap castle version of herself. I still didn’t know how that worked. “Thanks for that pep talk, now I’m here to help out.”
“Nice to see you again great husband… and in a better mood.” I found myself protectively wrapped up in nine tails by. “I hope you didn’t forget about your loyal Tomamo now, I’ll do anything for you… quite literally… ask me to mate with you on the battlefield, I will do it right here and now even if it’ll get me killed. So sorry to have upset you earlier… somehow… I’ll make it up to you, just wish it of me. I’ll even let you use me as a sock puppet if it’ll make you happy.”
“No.” Despite being an adult, I think I still needed one in this moment. The fox looked disappointed, but still willing to try and push the issues I had with her. She’s the reason I’m even aware that I was a Chrysomallus. “Just protect our backs and sides.”
“I will win you over yet oh great doggy messiah, I owe you my services as a loyal acolyte of your cuddle based religion!” Tomamo unwound her tails from me and lashed out a mystically controlled fire in all directions like how Shine would do it if she still used that move, she did it protectively while chuckling brightly at my reaction to her snuggling up against me. She slowly stopped and looked at my golden wool a bit more closely. “Oh… you’re that kind of Chrysomallus… I can see why you reacted poorly to learning the truth. Have you told anyone about the...”
“Don’t!” I snapped harshly at her as she was likely about to break a secret that I didn’t want anyone to know about. “Nobody needs to know what’ll happen to me if I grow wings, just go!”
“Right, I’m sorry my greatest of husbands, I forgot how painful such an existence as yours might be.” Tamamo sounded far more reverent after my harsh snapping at her as she fended off several EPs with a strange power and glowing eyes.
A white wolf with red markings soon showed up, the world slowed down and large mass of ink seemed to paint over and slash apart a large swath of EPs. I looked at the white wolf and she looked back at me.
What was a functional goddess doing on the battlefield and why were they in the appearance of a beautiful furred white wolf with red divinity markings all over her? You know what, I wasn’t going to think too hard about that at this point, considering all the crazy stuff I’ve had to deal with over the last several realms and knowing Arceus was actively on the battlefield.
Shoving Tamamo away from me and shooing her off, I stalked forward with my friends and an airborne Sami ready to throw down while Cu Chulainn and his team covered our backs.
“Deal with them, I need to prepare the final defenses if you can’t.” BB scoffed as she motioned to Moon and Tuxedo, then turned to walk away towards the nexus as we were basically at the base of the stairs leading up to Moon Cell’s core.
“I’m Sailor Moon… cell… and I’m going to punish you from taking away my friends and making them impossible for me to revive for some reason!” Sailor Moon was one for a lot of talk wasn’t she?
Sailor Moon soon screeched and dodged out of the way of dark red burning Rapidash, I think that was Red Hare from Ignis's attack on Aurora? In any case they were supporting Cu Chulainn, so I didn’t think much of it as they continued on to give us breathing room to fight within.
-Shape of the battlefield-
North, south, east and west didn’t exist in the digital world as there was no planet for said directions to exist on.
If the nexus was considered to be north of Castle Alexander, then we have something of a direction of the battle.
Ocellus was being reinforced by Artoria and Mash from the south alongside Mirage Collective and the Harmony Programs.
To the west was the forces of the Yggdrasil.sys in the form of a variety of Digimon of all sizes and types there numbers were smaller than the Pokémon, but they were no less mighty or equal in quality.
To the east was the forces of Ransei, more in quantity and not slacking on the quality as an aspect of Arceus walked with the many children into battle. Several of the kingdoms strongest units plowed forth into battle heedless of the number of enemies in their path.
Both of them were meeting in the middle and quick friendships were quickly being made in the middle of a fight.
As far as notable units on the field of battle, there were many.
Violite in particular with their anti-ground Eelektross tore through ranks of EPs.
The Bullet Floatzels having come in with Valora and evolved at some point into twin tailed water spewing hellions.
Aurora’s Skitty Squad with Captain Skeeball and her beloved Wailord Wilhelm, never had the screwball cat bene more notorious on a battlefield with how she sowed chaos in her wake with her giant husband.
Grit and his artillery units of Fontaine were taking out the enemy artillery in short order, the enemy could barely get a shot off in the direction of Grits units before they were hit bombardments of pressurized water.
Support from Kenshin and his teleporting psychic types was a boon to those who didn’t have a backspace system like the digimon to escape lethal injuries.
The Rockruff Brothers in their defense of Castle Alexander moved to the front lines and showed that the three Pokémon unit could rock the battlefield as the two of the three blurred through the enemy forces and the third one protected his two faster brothers where needed.
Even if she wasn’t joining the fighting, Cotton Murkrow was giving real time tactical advice to all the armies and keeping them on track at the back of the battlefield behind Grits units as one of the most brilliant tacticians and spies of Ransei coming from the kingdom of Avia. She didn’t bother with commanding Grit’s forces as they were doing more than enough on their own.
Oda Nobunaga was laughing proudly and somewhat madly as the enemy buckled under an assault of dragons flying or on the ground tearing through endless waves of enemies in a reckless and highly destructive fashion.
While the battlefield swarmed with Pokémon heroes. You also had the digimon heroes, meeting with Pokémon and forging friendships in the fires of battle.
A Primarina and a Black Wargreymon became fast friends, eventually Blackwargreymon passed a digivice on to the mermaid like Pokémon.
Metal Etemon buddied up with Ieyasu bringing along his Kamemon to support the steely soldiers.
Ultros was seen giving a protective effort to the Octillery Artillery from Fontaine.
Avia’s forces were joined by Raptor Sparrowmon and a veritable Flying Flotilla of Falconmon in a flying fortress that descended from the clouds that looked to almost be made out of the clouds themselves.
Blacktailmon Uver was supplying healing items to those that needed a pick me up after hearing about the Hi-potions, he had several units of supply movers helping the whole battlefront while Pistmon and Moosemon watched his back.
HEA-Gatomon was healing injured digimon right and left, receiving help from the likes of several healing digimon like Marineangemon the small fairy like digital monsters to get those who backspaced back into the field of battle faster.
Fleer and Abby, the mercenaries from the falling city of Cerebrum incident in Illusio brought a lot of mercenary forces with them, including a mercenary Zoroark that was helping with rebuilding Illusio and was working on donating money to that effort.
Shine and Quetal fought side by side with various monitamon from the Data Divers, including the one that had found the truth of what happened to Dormarch’s body. Snake the Caerbannog soon had them acting as a high speed strike squad with his own Caerbannog forces added to the mix.
Pringer-Z-mon was a caped hero of the battlefield, proving that Prinnymon weren’t just for exploding violently as he followed his leader Tempomon across the field and met some rather fun Ludicolo.
Lucha Mundo met a digimon that immediately wanted to partner up with him named Muchomon, the red flight penguin hit it off with Mundo and the two were quick buddies on the battlefield, including a digivice. A love of samba and wrestling with an equivalent amount of enthusiasm between the two got Muchomon evolving fairly quickly.
There was even one digimon that was looking for Lit on the battlefield, it used to be a Tsumemon a small digital bug and now it had evolved into something more. It had almost evolved straight into being a mega level digimon that was a samurai fused with a horse called a Zanbamon, a raw terror on the field of battle who was just looking for a friend while wiping out any enemy that got in his or his allies way.
Now Zanbamon wanted to help that friend who they felt was somewhere on the battlefield. If it weren’t for Lit not being afraid of him, Tsumemon might not have made as many friends with the other baby digimon and grew as strong as he did. He wanted to return that favor several fold to Lit for their friendship had helped him, now he’d help save their worlds in return and meet with Lit again… mostly just to say hello.
Even the innocent Calumon had somehow managed to wander onto the battlefield, not that he was a battle rated digimon or much help. Sideline the Sidekicky Digi-bot was attempting to keep him mostly away from the action and safe because of his general importance to Yggdrasil.sys. That and his ability to cause Digimon to evolve which might soon be needed as even with several armies worth of Digimon and Pokémon being dropped into the field of battle… Moon Cell’s combat lines had not broken.
The battlefield swarmed with monsters, all of them starting to come together to work in tandem to fight the biggest monster of them all Moon Cell.
Arceus’s aspect on the battlefield watched on and supported his children where feasible as long as he didn’t accidentally come close to hitting anyone he liked. Those who weren’t as brave or nearly as strong stayed near the towering figure and image of the Pokémon god who protected his children with his form.
Even some digimon were in awe of Arceus as he slowly walked forward heedless of the many attacks coming at him, even Moon Cell was taking his presence seriously, but it wouldn’t be nearly enough to the forces brought about by a need to stop Moon Cell’s lunar lunacy.
Alongside Arceus aspects of the various legendary Pokémon, the gods of the Pokémon realms, started appearing.
Opposite to their side of the battlefield, the Deva, Royal Knights and Demon Lord digimon of the Yggdrasil Systems started showing up as well as the gods of their digital worlds. While they might not have been the original Deva, Royal Knights or Demon Lord digimon, they would all be fighting with the same strength as the originals alongside one another against the much larger threat all the same.
A pause and a glance passed between some of the most powerful beings of the two realms, there was a silent agreement before both sides moved forth at the same time.
The Pokémon and digital realms had suffered losses, grief and damages yet untold… now it was time for them all to return that favor to Moon Cell with extra thrown in for good measure. The rallying point being the counter invasion force that Moon Cell couldn’t root out of its systems and had forced back to fighting in its own inner realm where its core resided.
-
Near the front of Castle Alexander a small metal dragon digimon called Hackmon and a Smeargle stood back and took in the full scope of things as EPs assaulted Castle Alexander from the back and sides as Artoria and Mash tore their way to start helping protect the place. With Copen and Elise already running interference.
The Hackmon calmly passed a digivice to the Smeargle. The dog Pokémon just took the device with idle curiosity and a raised brow, then they both set about recording the battle for posterity in their own ways together as a companionship forged without words or even thoughts passing between the two.
It was just a gut feeling that led Hackmon to choosing to befriend a strange bipedal canine Pokémon in the middle of all the chaos. No one being could possibly hope to have recorded the full scope of this battle without being a god level entity.
The Smeargle had a gut feeling he was going on the adventure of a lifetime with the strange red cape wearing dragon and that would be another story entirely, never likely to be written in the annals of time.
Pokémon and Digimon enjoyed a good battle and this battle was going to go down as one of the most memorable in the history of the realms, for none of those who lived through it all would ever be able to forget it.
Author's Note
"Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom" is my only response as to why this one took a while.
The game is easy, but on the whole a lot of fun for all the creativity in how you go about solving problems. I will end up playing it again on Hero Mode.
