454. All In: Spears of ‘The End’!

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

-Moon Cell, Inner Realm, Desert of Devastation, near Moon Cell’s nexus, Pom-

“Can we get some introductions please?” I asked politely.

“Oh sure, that’s Neptune, Uranus, Saturn and Pluto.” Moon stated pleasantly.

I took two sniffs and quickly did a run down with what little information I had gathered from just that and looking at the four new short ‘magical armored’ skirt girls. The ‘magical armor’ is definitely in air quotes there, as whoever designed them given the style… yeah... I’m not touching on that thought too hard.

Uranus and Neptune, the ferret and weasel were both close in an intimate way. Saturn the black cat was related to them in some way, probably adopted. The lizard lady Pluto was an odd one out and smelled oddly ancient.

The weapon Saturn wielded felt… a bit familiar as it almost felt like the Rhongomyniad I currently held in my hooves. Saturn was distinctly different from Luna the Mau being something different.

Did I just smell the souls of the enemy? Well I had to call it.

“Can you guys handle everyone else? I’ll take Saturn… she has a weapon that I don’t think any of you should be dealing with.” That spear, the air around it was unnaturally still and made its movements disturbing to look at even as the cat biped stared me down like an angry Abyssinian that just lost its yarn ball and I’m the one currently holding it.

“I’ll try to deal with Tuxedo, Sami is going to be giving us cover what cover she can.” Canard called.

“I’ll continue to focus on dealing with Moon.” Dormarch had a pretty good read of Sailor Moon’s abilities, that and her threat was magical energy projection that was very obvious to see coming and easy to dodge.

“We’ll be trying to fight Uranus and Neptune.” Shanty called out with Dodo and Favela not seeing any problem with that.

“We’ll deal with Pluto.” Dazzle called out as Frizzle spread her wings and blasted forth intense sweeping mass of blue flames that Pluto and Moon blocked.

I started for my opponent and the real start of the battle was about to begin as everyone spread out, said start of the battle was punctuated by Luna the Mau, whatever a Mau was, being sliced in half by Dormarch leaping with his left wing blade to intercept the transforming biped cat on his way towards Moon.

I hoped my son didn’t become desensitized to violence, because I certainly wasn’t at this point with all the horrors I’ve been put through.

“That spear…” I stated slowly as I looked into the saddened eyes of the silent kitty holding it, it felt like I was looking at a reluctant reaper or the soul of one trapped in the form of a Moon Cell servant. “How many have died from it?”

Saturn just nodded, the answer being implicitly a ‘yes’ and not a number. She narrowed her eyes at me as the spear I held transformed to a more naginata like form to match hers somewhat.

We both took up an offensive minded spear stance at the same time, two difference stances mind you, and she was quite quiet as she took up her battle position.

I recognized talent when I saw it. That is to say Saturn might not actually have much talent at all and just the basics.

There was the idea that these guys, were all from the same place of three failed civilizations and had relied entirely on their magic and weapons alongside mostly absolute raw power to get anything done. Rarely did they ever need to actually match wits with their opponents as they spent most of their time with overpowering them outright with their weakest to strongest abilities. Little wonder the civilizations fell, power without wisdom is always bound to end poorly.

So I had the edge of speed and talent, but Saturn… she was holding something with raw power.

Saturn silently mouthed the words ‘Silence Glaive: spear of the end’ to me while glancing at her weapon as if I had no chance against her. She couldn’t even say it out loud, she was a servant of Moon Cell and trapped in servitude like all of the other previous servants we’ve faced.

Elise had been a special case of actually managing to partially and, with my help, fully resurrected herself. Hopefully she was staying safe on the battlefield, the point I’m getting at is that Jupiter, Jack and Totsugeki all resisted even if they couldn’t do anything about it while others like Snake and Copen were odd outliers that were free from the get go.

I mouthed back ‘Rhongomyniad: THE spear of the end’ and she looked at my weapon as I was ready to take on hers in a clash.

I started to inhale preparing myself for the battle ahead.

We walked towards each other slowly…

(Music: Fighting with all of our might, Shovel Knight.)

We both paused for a few seconds… I exhaled at the right moment.

Our spears clashed as we thrust them forth with and a powerful glow flew off both of them, hers was a deathly pale purple whereas mine glow was a bright golden corona. A golden glow was not something I really appreciated having, knowing what it means for me. So I was quite thankful that it was the Rhongomyniad that was glowing.

We were blasted back by the power in our respective weapons clashing and being a match for each other, Saturn however slid farther back than I did. If our weapons were evenly matched that wouldn’t make much sense, as Saturn definitely weighs more than I do… most of the things I have fought up to this point did.

Well, most of my body weight is muscle at this point. I leapt forward and we parried each other’s next three swings. Right sweep, swing blade up and then try to stab the tip forward, it seems like Saturn was on the same page I was, as we deflected off each other several times and backed off to prep for our next move.

She could technically strike harder than I could and had raw power of her weapon, but this didn’t seem like an actual insurmountable gap as I definitely had the advantage of skill.

Something was off with these servants, after taking down the first four of this particular set, it’s become apparent that Moon Cell might actually be losing steam on having things to throw at us or these servants were weaker for a particular reason.

These four servants might be stronger than the previous four, but…

As I deflected Saturn’s next attack and then locked our blades against one another, we both paused and watched Frizzle’s massive form get sent flying by the long green hair having lizard’s strange attack that shook the air. I just shook my head as I disengaged from our weapon lock.

They were still dangerous and we couldn’t discount said danger as being of similar strength, even if their appearances implied as much.

The battle raged on around us as I charged forward at Saturn and she came at me across the sands, I thrust forward she ducked back and then lunged forth trying to stab for my chest.

I immediately brought the shaft of the Rhongomyniad up and to the left to deflect as I hopped forward onto my left hind hoof. I quickly pivoted my right hip forward to launch my right hind leg up into the left side of Saturn’s face, staggering and making her gasp in pain as I just gave her a black eye.

While Saturn was staggered I reoriented and went back into a defensive state, I wasn’t going to press my advantage yet as I had to slash an Assassin Reaper out of the air and did two quick follow up attacks to make sure it was evaporating afterwards. I couldn’t very well tunnel vision on Saturn alone, I had to pay attention to my surroundings too as attacks were flying around everywhere from all sides.

Saturn angrily lunged forward and brought her spear down with force and after avoiding the overhead swing by stepping to the side, I watched as the eruption of sand created a fairly large ditch that quickly started filling in with sand.

Stepping forward, I lashed out with a swing forcing Saturn to hop back out of range. I tried to go for a follow up forward hopping stab only to quickly change to just jumping straight up when crouching down for my lunge.

Slashing downwards with the spear, I took out several of the snake headed tongues of a Grabber as it erupted from right beneath me and tried to pull me in into its mouth.

Why yes, I was certainly less terrified of summoned killer whales like that one that tried to bite me in half from that fight with Rider Totsugeki, thank you for asking fear processing center in my brain.

Kicking off the top of the grabber’s upper beak to the side, the Grabber was vertically bisected in half a second later by one downward swing of Saturn’s powerful weapon that gouged the sand. Grabber’s outer hides were quite tough and I likely didn’t want to be hit directly with that weapon, especially not when it gave off a faint sense of death and split a grabber in half as if it were a halberd.

I quietly noted the blade of her weapon almost had an elongated G shape to it. The large pronged outer edge of the G was like a naginata blade and the smaller prong looked like a dolphin’s tail that was made for catching and breaking weak blade weapons. This was done by catching a blade within the longer inner side of the naginata like scythe sided edge the locking the blade in with the tail and performing a quick twist so that the smaller prong snapped blade apart.

The two halves of the grabber fell in opposite direction as Saturn charged forth at me as I was landing, she did a lunging thrust with her weapon.

I managed to lean away and narrowly let the odd blade of the dangerous weapon almost scrape my left side without actually being struck by it and used the shaft of my own weapon to pull it in and pin it to my wool.

Once my wool grabbed the shaft of her spear, I tried to thrust my own spear at her and she managed to maneuver to catch the shaft up under her left armpit.

I tried to get the Rhongomyniad to spike outwards at Saturn, but it wouldn’t. She tried to charge energy through her spear, but aside from some flickering it didn’t travel down the shaft at me. Saturn looked a little confused, as did I. Maybe we could cancel out the effect of each other’s weapons while grappling the weapons? I was wondering what the interactions of our weapons was going to be like as we continued.

I inhaled through my nose and spat a bark buster and released the grip of my wool on the shaft of her weapon, detonating the magical wad in her face she was knocked onto her back. This managed to score me a nasty downwards slash against her left side with my blade as she was blown back as it was freed from her armpit dragging the blade down the side of her chest and some of her abdomen.

Immediately crouching down, I launched myself high into the air and slightly forward through a swarm of lasers firing at me from various angles, Dolly even dealt with a few of the various Moon Cell watchers around me as I completed my upwards leaping arc.

I brought the Rhongomyniad up high above my head with both my front hooves and tried to thrust it down into Saturn’s chest.

Saturn rolled backwards onto her feet and swung her blade for me, she narrowly missed hitting me across the left side of my face with her blade. I had quickly leaned back after jamming my weapons into the sand. I then found my nose quickly bloodied by a powerful blunt force to the left side of it as Saturn stepped forward and slung the back end of the Silence Glaive into me in a continuation of her swing.

Staggering back while maintaining my grip on the Rhongomyniad as it was stuck a quarter of the way in the sand, I had to regain my senses from the painful blow.

Saturn stepped forward again into a swinging back for the right side of my neck by reversing the her direction of her weapon and I was out of position to defend myself, much less pull the Rhongomyniad up from the sand in time.

I moved to the left while trying to pull the shaft of the spear up enough to block the dangerous attack coming from my right, but I apparently didn’t have to worry about it.

A loud clang happened as the spear was deflected over my head by another shorter spear, as Jiri dropped in front of me and was immediately crouching while bringing up the small shield on her right arm. Jiri the Lopunny slammed forward with a powerful Bounce into Saturn’s gut and sent the yowling cat flying painfully across the sand. The sand probably make knockdowns not as effective as they would be, but that blow definitely looked effective to me and Jiri just gave me some breathing room.

The Lopunny, who likely mega evolved at some point given some moderate changes to her form, height and muscles. Jiri just roared in challenge and before I knew it she was bouncing off the various aerial enemies surrounding us in a blur of frantic energy. That was in the effort of trying to stop the aerial enemies from firing on me or those around us.

Jiri wasn’t the nervous little bunny I had met and taught how to wield a spear. She was a lot stronger and surer of herself and she had even managed to fend off Saturn, doing so had damaged her spear by a lot. If Jiri’s weapon was of any remotely great quality like I knew it was, then it wouldn’t stand up to Saturn’s weapon just as it was likely it wouldn’t stand up to the Rhongomyniad for more than a few blows. That the mundane spear hadn’t shattered in her paws immediately was amazing.

A wall of ice popped up out of the sand and deflected a number of projectile attacks as I finally freed the Rhongomyniad from the sand with a solid yank.

“Ice type bear is glad to help cover friend while Jiri is busy in the air.” Stated the calm and much larger polar bear Pokémon that no longer had snot coming from his nose, he did have an interesting icicle beard now… that was likely made of frozen snot. Jiri’s unit of bear friends were immediately shoring up the battle zone around me to keep the ground EPs off those of us fighting the servants directly.

“Watch the ground, underground enemies are a problem.” I warned, as I pulled the Rhongomyniad.

“Hey, we Bear Brawlers have got it under control!” That was the guy that used to be Teddiursa… yikes some Pokémon go big, I believe he was an Ursaring now? I wondered how Jiri was still the leader of her unit when I saw several other physically powerful bears take up spots in the small hole we made in the battlefield near the Nexus. “Besides… we already have ground types from Terrera on it, those guys owe us quite a few favors and nothing is faster than a ground type in their element. Look out that bipedal cat is coming back for you.”

Ignoring Cu Chulainn as she passed him to charge back into a fight with me, Saturn was also ignoring everyone else that was fighting too. Didn’t need any guesses as to why she was focusing on me… it’s the same various reasons I chose to fight her personally.

I felt the shift of movement underground coming for me at the same time as Saturn was, but then something happened and there was a large spray of sand that got kicked into the air a second later. I was going to trust that I wasn’t about to be attacked by a Grabber… given there were now thousands of movements underground targeting the larger things.

Taking in the low angle of the blade and the way Saturn held her spear, I predicted her next move while I had the time to do so. Would she feint, would she go for a direct kill above all else or would she even actively be able to act on her own will without Moon Cell’s input when she had such a dangerous weapon that might actually deal with me?

The buildup of energy around Saturn’s weapon had me slightly worried.

I waited until Saturn closed with me while silently inhaling through my injured nose, my blood was pumping as the sounds of battle surrounded us. Having to dodge a Moon Cell Watcher that managed to successfully get a shot off at me, with so much going on this seemingly left me open for the next attack.

Saturn swung and her swing stopped before it could come even close to hitting me and a mass of dark energy surged forth from the spear and exploded violently in the air, this created a powerful suction force in the form of a black orb of gravity for a few seconds like what Dolly could do. Anything near it, nothing but EPs thankfully, were immediately destroyed as it expanded slightly and then collapsed into an explosive implosion.

I took the moment to stab the spear forward at Saturn’s head and she pivoted away while being unable to move her spear much as it seemed to stay stuck in a static position.

Saturn looked confused, until her eyes narrowed slightly. Saturn let go of the aft end of her weapon with her left claw and used her right to twist the blade of her spear into cutting a path through the barely visible glowing golden wool strands that stopped her attack mid swing. Saturn immediately retreated several steps further before my next three rapid stab attempts could land.

That confirms it, I don’t want to try and block that blade with my wool directly when it comes to attacking my body directly. Anti-magic wool can repel the weapons magic, but if it was powerful enough to natural cut through my wool like the weapons Gilgamesh had…

I fired a bark blast while charging forward, as it was dodged I entered a slide under a retaliatory stab and tried to stab up into Saturn’s chest. This is while using the back end of the Rhongomyniad to bounce myself back into a standing stance from the slide, after Saturn dodged that attempt exhaled a quick bark blaze out of my mouth.

Saturn yowled and whimpered in pain as she was lit ablaze and immediately dropped into the sand to roll away the painful flames that lit her up. She looked so young, but she wasn’t any less capable of doing something just as painful to me.

Growling as she got back up, Saturn crouched down and raised her spear high up. The spear started glowing with darkness and I started charging the Rhongomyniad with my magic to meet the oncoming attack as she brought her weapon back and it started created a suctioning force that drew in sand and started pulled me towards her.

I tried backpedaling and prepared a Dancing Flame for the right moment as I was being pulled closer towards her. She slung her weapon forward and a black ring of swirling energy in the form of a deadly disk saw surged forth at me.

I exhaled sharply.

Examining the attack and peering at the others around me using the very corner of my eyes while I had some time, I realized that if I dodged… I’d be putting Shanty in danger. Let’s see how good Rhongomyniad is at retaliating against a spear of the end.

Angling the blade of the Rhongomyniad in a precise manner, I flicked it upwards and was soon spinning the bladed ring attack of dark energy on the spear until the energy turned golden somehow.

I raised the spear and flung the attack back at a surprised Saturn who rolled out of the way as a massive gouge of sand was torn out of the ground by the attack and sent her sliding into a pit.

Seeing the opening, I leapt for and tried to stab downwards only for Saturn to slam the butt of her spear against the sand at the bottom of the pit. A swirling vortex of darkness to start up as Saturn tried drawing me into it. I tried to escape the trap as winds started to build up along with a massive amount of magical energy and I had an idea as to what her next attack would be as wall of swirling sand trapped me within the blast zone with her.

My fear for myself bottomed out as my wool started glowing brightly, I coiled the wool on my hind legs and got an idea as to how devastating this attack would be if anyone else got caught up in it and I didn’t figure out how to suppress it. I had to leap above Saturn as she fires it off or everyone around here is going to be dead except for me!

The swirling and winds picked up, Saturn was about to fire the attack, I leapt up and felt Dolly do something. The winds cut out and Saturn’s eyes widened as a green swirl reversed a majority of the power of her attack… that didn’t mean she wouldn’t fire it.

Leaping above Saturn, I was met with a chaotic wave of magic shooting upwards and threatening to expand outwards I was actively using my body to contain the blast. My wool reflected the magic back downwards and I grit my teeth as I slowly angled the Rhongomyniad downwards in the hopes of pushing an attack through back at Saturn.

Before I could connected with the reflected energy compressing down at Saturn and with the Rhongomyniad, Saturn erected a quick barrier as the entire area was blasted by the resulting shockwave of pressure being unleashed in all directions.

I was sent flying through the air tumbling end over end until I inflated my wool to stop myself and soon I found the left jet wing of the Metal Hound 004 pressing up underneath me and flew me out of the path of various projectiles that surged up at where I was.

Dolly flew in low and stopped to let me drop off while continuing to fire at aerial enemies and was shooting down the slower homing missile projectiles. Dolly took off in a wash of swirling sands back to the battle in the skies once I was back on the ground and able to move.

Landing on the sand I readied the Rhongomyniad as Saturn stared at me and readied her weapon, ready to get back into it. The shockwave and all the sand did more damage to the EPs then it did to anyone on our side, just about everyone had been knocked over by the powerful blast.

We surged towards one another and continued out fight, clashing our weapons over the course of several stabs. After one particular clash, I was blown back by the force of the energy coming off of Saturn’s weapon.

Despite the several wounds I got on her, Saturn wasn’t getting weaker. Why did it seem that the more tired Saturn got, the more powerful she seemed to be?

I took a quick look around with a quick breath of air and was thankful that no EPs were coming for me. Saturn had to be the most dangerous among these strange girls, next to Jupiter. Uranus wasn’t dealing with Shanty very well, Canard actually had Tuxedo on the ropes and was deflected roses, don’t know what was happening in Pluto’s area… because it looks like time and space was twisting in on itself and that hurt my brain. Neptune was the weakest given she was being beaten by a tag team of Dodo and Favela. Dormarch still had Moon locked down.

Once I was finished with Saturn, and health willing after a Hi-Potion, I’d rush into the nexus… by myself if I had to. Mostly because I didn’t want to fight anymore servants with sad eyes like what Saturn had.

“There’s just something about you that I don’t understand...” I stated as I and the cat clashed spears. “I hope I figure it out by the time we’re done.”

I was on the defensive as she was pushing raw power with each blow that I couldn’t fully stand up to directly, but I could redirect most of that force away from myself. Again raw power wasn’t everything and I think she was trying to learn from me as we fought, because her skill with her weapon wasn’t the greatest it could be.

I felt her manage to break my guard and managed to dart forward to slash me across the left side of my withers and shoulder. Grunting at the cold chill that filled my body, I struggled to keep up my defense as my legs started feeling dead for a few seconds… it was as if I had been hit by Shadow Velvet’s ice all over again.

An explosion of golden glow happened around my wound and I felt the rush of pain and heat as I stitched said wound shut with my wool as I continued to deflect and evade or dodge around the swings as Saturn was trying to not give me a second to think.

It was kind of hard to do, getting me to stop thinking mind you, I’m always thinking about something and my mind had a lot of noise to go with all the anxiety I had.

I ducked under a swing from my right and leaned away from the back end of her spear trying to smash me across the right side of my face.

While lashing out with the Rhongomyniad held in my left hoof and deflecting the Silence Glaive upwards, I lunged forward and lashed out with my right hoof and clawed up her right thigh with a magical wolf claw.

Following that claw attack, I rolled under her attempt to bring the spear back down and into me and got slightly behind her and in position quickly enough to deflected her next attack into the ground as she swung around for me.

Saturn has no martial prowess outside the spear, she didn’t have a quick fire ranged attack like my barks not that her attacks weren’t dangerous they were slow and easy to see and feel coming. I still couldn’t help but feel this sense of foreboding and danger from her… why though when most of her attacks are outright telegraphed? What makes her so dangerous and why did I feel like I wasn’t seeing her at her maximum threat level? Her weapon gives off an air of death and… wait… could that be it?

“You can’t use your most powerful attack without dying can you?” My statement made Saturn freeze up and back away from me looking traumatized, she even seemed to be unable to move afterwards looking incredibly dazed. “And Moon Cell won’t let you do that attack because it would destroy it too?”

My second question didn’t broker a reaction as Saturn now had a blank look in her eyes and she wasn’t making any moves to attack me.

“Lancer Guardians attack!” Luna the Mau called out as she charged forward with EPs from all sides and nobody around to stop the hundred or so of them from piling on me.

“The wonderful one o’ one digital commandoes coming at you!” A Dalmamon I recognized appeared with a cheer and raked her claws across one of the Lancer Guardian EPs coming for me. It was Verance of the Dalmamon family, the digimon equivalent of Dolly.

Several more Dalmamon appeared in flashes and slashes quickly wiped out all of the incoming Lancer Guardians EPs with a combined effort. Some of the Dalmamon tried to attack Saturn only to get painfully smacked away from her with the blunt end of her staff, flat of her bladed end or the almost unfortunate ones that almost got ran through.

Despite her clearly cat-atonic state, Saturn wasn’t incapable of defending herself as the three tailed fish puppies thought and were incapable of getting a single hit on her as she created a barrier that spiraled outward from herself sending them flopping around the in the sands around me.

“Hope you’re alright to keep going on your own Pom. I’m sorry we can’t stick around to help out further, but we have to deal with our injuries from pushing too far to help you.” Pickle, the digimon equivalent of Dolly’s step-brother Dylan, stated while a waving set of goofy claws. “Dormarch looks busy, so tell him we said thanks for the combat data he sent our way when you passed through the digital realm a while ago, it’s been a big help for us!”

“We got our assist in, hopefully it was enough now let’s get bugged guys!” Verance shouted and all the Dalmamon disappeared in a synchronized mass of flashes. She and the other Dalmamon used Search Hunter to quickly vacate the area before they got hit by the incoming presence of the aerial EPs, most of them were Moon Cell watchers.

I looked at Luna the Mau had been eviscerated by at least eighty of the one hundred and one Dalmamon that came in to assist and evacuated before the enemy forces could properly aim enough projectiles in their direction to hit one.

This left me dodging a few Moon Cell Watcher lasers as the eyeball like orbs missed their initial volley on the temporary teleporting backup and of course they want to take that out on me immediately afterwards. Several lasers rained down around me and started turning the sand into glass and even kicked it up in my direction with rather precise shots.

The Moon Cell Watchers were quickly dealt with by what looked like a slightly goofy looking orange dragon that opened its mouth and swept a beam through a mass of them.

“Than-whoa!” In my moment of distraction Saturn had come to her senses or at least I think she had as she lightly slashed me from my right hip to close to my belly. I quickly sealed off the wound with some wool and the damaging magic was dealt by my anti-magic glow a second later.

I protected myself from her next few strikes that sent me skidding across the sand, her blows were getting slightly more powerful the more injured she got. This was pushing me further away from the protective highly contested zone near the nexus and towards more EPs on their rear battle line, I charged forward at Saturn as she came running for me.

Feinting an attack for her chest or belly I instead sprung up, kicked off of Saturn’s spear thrust to try and meet my attack. My forward hop had me bringing my hind legs in and I harshly bucked at the back of Saturn’s head with my hind legs loosing coils of wool as I did so.

I launched forward and Saturn went tumbling with what should have been lethal hoof shaped bleeding head wounds, not only did I buck her with Thousand Spears spring boost added on, I even added magical wolf claw to that attack.

Despite the painful blow and putting my all into that attack, Saturn still wasn’t done yet and she now had an aura about her as she glared after me despite having problems standing up having hit her head in a way that messed up her body’s ability to coordinate. My Wolf Fang Hoof technique didn’t disable, but I was aiming to kill the servant with that attack.

As I quickly made my way to a safer zone while avoiding projectiles coming at me from across the sands in all directions in my attempt to avoid being surrounded entirely by EPs and move back to the protective circle made by Cu Chulainn’s and Jiri’s teams which were starting to look battered by the endless stream of attackers.

Saturn’s body started glowing darkly with energy as she gave chase and she was not only feeling stronger… she was also speeding up too.

I was forced to turn around and deflected a powerful impact that sent me skidding backwards, not having any time to check on my friends or how Shanty was doing as Saturn was already halfway to reaching me despite sending me sliding on the sand twenty or so feet.

I inhaled sharply to give myself time to think, Dancing Flame has been my go to for most things since I started using it.

If injuries were making Saturn stronger, I had to finish her fast! Wait, was she currently acting as a Berserker class servant?! I had, incorrectly, thought that all of these servants were Caster Class given their propensity for magical attacks with what seemed like comically long wind ups leading into said attacks. Berserkers were raw power and it makes sense, I had to somehow separate her from the Silence Glaive as that seems to be the source of her power.

This certainly changes how I should deal with Saturn and she definitely wasn’t going to allow me charged up a ‘Thousand Spears: Huo’ attack. I guess I was one to talk when it came to comically long wind ups on magical attacks when it takes me about three minutes of uninterrupted concentration now instead of five given I can create a ball of fire quickly with my fire breathing ability.

Exhaling, my mind changing to fit the information I just acquired through various clues, I went on the offense and both our spears blur as we swung stabbed and danced in a deadly manner. Saturn all the while was giving off a deathly aura and her strikes were getting harder to deflect and her combat style… it hadn’t changed in the slightly as she started almost powering through my attempts at deflection.

After a fully successful deflection, where I managed knock Saturn’s spear upwards in a manner that left the muscles in my front legs screaming for relief, I tossed the Rhongomyniad straight up and then dodged into her swing downward from the deflection. Grabbing the shaft of Saturn’s weapon with my front legs, I kicked her in the gut with my left hind leg.

Having tried to pull the weapon from her grip, it was as I feared, she has something a literal ‘death grip’ on the thing and the sickly aura was met by my golden glow proving that the magical aura around her was toxic. Makes me currently glad we’re fighting on sand, even as unstable as the battlefield currently was.

Saturn heaved me up over her head, I flexed my body with the movements and slammed both my hind legs into the middle of her spine while firing off another fully powered buck like the one I had unleashed on her skull, magic claws and wool springs.

Instead of letting go of the weapon Saturn slammed me against the sand and dragged my body about through it from her left to right practically plowing it with my body. Actively trying to get me to let go of the Silence Glaive, it was obvious that Saturn was absolutely nothing without this weapon and this weapon was tied into her rapidly increasing magical power and strength from the damage I’ve dealt to her.

Saturn kicked out her right leg for me and I managed to kick the sand with my rear legs to move out of the path of the kick and pull her off balance, then halted in my movement.

About to lift me off my hooves or drive me into the sand again, the Rhongomyniad final came down and the blade pierced her right arms bicep.

Her clothing was getting worse by the second and the magic armor would not have stopped the Rhongomyniad even if it were at full strength, her grip on the Silence Glaive didn’t relent even an inch and was as firm as ever despite the muscles in her bicep making it impossible for her right hand to be holding onto it as well as she did. She wasn’t using her physical body, this is something happening on a magical level or as I’ve come to find out with most servants… a conceptual one. ‘Death grip’ is such a concept that was recognizable as being a thing right now.

I sent out a wire of wool to grapple the Rhongomyniad to rip it out and still despite the nerves I had likely hit her steel like grip on the Silence Glaive didn’t relent. It should have been impossible for her to hold the weapon with her right hand given the damage I did as the Rhongomyniad seemingly hovered next to my left shoulder on a single cluster wire of wool.

If she couldn’t bring her weapon to bear on me to hit me with the blade, then I was mostly okay aside from being bashed into the nearest hardest surface. Again, sand or her own body and I’d win when it comes to her trying to bash me with her body.

Saturn twisted the weapon and attempted to flip me over and I let her flip me, I raised my right hind leg caught on the right side of her neck and clamped the other side of Saturn’s neck with my left and tightened my wool around it and started to run up a wire saw as I prepped the Rhongomyniad to stab at her as her neck was getting cut up.

Saturn’s increasingly frantic attempts to toss me off as my wool dug into her flesh in the attempt to take off her head were getting better and that wasn’t good. The closer to death the stronger she was, she barely fended off the Rhongomyniad as the wire wool swung it at her, I was making the situation exponentially harder for Saturn to deal with even with how awkwardly position I was.

I pulled my head back and created a wedge shape with the wool at the top of my head, I slung my head forward down and Saturn reared back her head in a silent scream as my axe head blow to her nethers likely hurt like Tartarus.

Having managed to saw halfway through Saturn’s neck with the wool on my rear legs and the added damaged of taking a sharpened wool shifted and forged axe to the pelvis was apparently enough for Saturn to gain the strength to deal with me.

Saturn managed to rip the Silence Glaive free of my front legs grip on it. Saturn tried to immediately ram her weapon up into my belly and I quickly stopped the wire saw attempt to garrote her head off and rolled forward off of her. She deflected the Rhongomyniad into the ground when I tried to yank it into her with the wire wool as I turned to face her.

Saturn quickly slashed through the wire wool disconnecting me from my weapon, but unlike her I wasn’t helpless without my main form of combat. She lunged forward in an attempt to skewer me, I didn’t retreat.

Instead I went into a forward slide and she immediately swung down the blade for me, which left her open when I sprung up into a Wild Windmill by inflating all my wool against the sand and twisting my body into a rapid spinning windmill shape. I kicked my four legs to speed up my spin to land a devastating bone shattering axe kick to her left shoulder with my left hind leg.

I even felt the bones under the blow breaking yet Saturn’s body kept function as if I didn’t just break all the bones in that arm, she even immediately grappled me with said left arm. She wrapped her right arm around me and attempted to squeeze me to death, my wool was handling the pressure as Saturn grit her teeth and tried to squeeze me harder. It was a decent try, I just don’t think she had the strength for it yet.

While the Rhongomyniad would not change shape to attack her while grappled, my wool didn’t have any such restrictions and I spiked a number of wool threads into Saturn’s body straight through her magical clothing and tried to puppet her body into letting go of the Silence Glaive.

This didn’t work, but I did get her to stop trying to crush me to death, the pressure was unreal for someone of Saturn’s size and she was only getting stronger the more I injured her. Her body was working in spite of the injuries I know I dealt her, yet she silently continued on.

I shoved my wool deeper into her body and then I ripped my wool free, yet even with Saturn looking like a living corpse she was still acting as if the injuries didn’t hamper her in the slightest. That dark aura was haunting to look at as she held the Silence Glaive in her right hand while bleeding all over the sand.

“I can already guess what the Silence Glaive means when it comes to being ‘of The End’… a bitter one.” I said calmly despite my adrenaline spiking, Saturn froze up when I said those last three words. She’s likely had several bitter interactions with this mystical weapon and this was another in a long line of them. “Arrrwoooo!”

I wool shifted to ‘wooly wolf’ mode, I was going to need the extra speed and strength that my exoskeletal wool mode will lend me. After the injury I just dealt to Saturn’s insides, she’s going to be ungodly powerful and nigh unstoppable after after that. She wasn’t die until she let go of that spear, hence my supposition that she had the concept of a literal ‘death grip’ on it.

Saturn can’t functionally die while she held the Silence Glaive or up until she used her ultimate attack, which Moon Cell wouldn’t allow because said attack would outright destroy Moon Cell as well given her proximity to the nexus. So it was nice that she couldn’t instantly kill us all.

I had to get the Rhongomyniad back too if I was going to actually finish her off. I was already inhaling and saw the faintest of movements from Saturn, I exhaled immediately and barely dodged through her next three swinging attacks to push me farther away from the Rhongomyniad.

I did not want to have to use my beast mode on this poor shattered soul of a kitten who’s fur was now being dyed as red as her clothing with her own blood, I’m saving that for whatever Moon Cell would throw at me personally as I was going to go all out on it.

Now if only Saturn wasn’t actively preventing me from retrieving the Rhongomyniad, she was much faster than before and getting harder to keep up with. I avoided each attack she sent out against me at a rapid pace.

Saturn must know exactly how dangerous it would be if I got a hold of it and pumped her body with its power at this point. Said use of the Rhongomyniad was draining and a cost of four parts of my magic for every one part of output from the spear in the form of a concentrated beam.

Thinking of the Rhongomyniad, how does it’s ‘Of the end’ concept work exactly compared to the Silence Glaive? It didn’t have the same death grip thing going for it and it had different meaning despite having basically the same concept. End of an era maybe? Artoria told me it was used at the end of an age of gods.

Silence Glaive, conceptual end of life, fighting to the bitter end and the end of all progress or the end of stagnation.

I tried to get past Saturn, I really did, but she could move into my path insanely fast now and slashed me into leaping back and away from her. She didn’t follow me though, odd, but I think she knew I could get around her if she moved any further from the Rhongomyniad just lying there in the sand.

Crouching down and raising the spear up, Saturn once again was creating a powerful spiraling suction as her spear started glowing darkly with that an orb of energy again and it started drawing me and a lot of sand towards it. Her slightly dead purple eyes were staring at me as the sands threatened to drag me closer in an inward spiral.

I noticed something with my eyes that would actually help me as I kept trying to avoid being pulled in by hopping on the shifting sands. Again Saturn wasn’t a skilled in much other than using this weapon.

After one more hop, I leapt myself get sucked forward along with the sand and kept my hooves on top of it by stepping in place and slowly inhaling.

As I got closer and Saturn started to swing her weapon, I stomped down into the sand with my left hind leg harshly and then lifted it up pulling the Rhongomyniad with it up into my front hooves. It had been pulled closer to me by the vortex and I finally exhaled.

I blocked the swing and charged an amount of my magic into the spear to counter the power of hers the sand around us immediately stopped being a pit as it evened out and I sent her skidding back. I still got a slight cut on my right cheek from the clash and quickly dealt with that using a single thread of wool.

Turning my back on Saturn, I sighed...

“Are you okay?” I said quietly, without looking at her. I could hear the cat’s boots stomping on the sand as she charged for me. “Of course you’re not… your minds being tortured throughout all of this. I hope you’ll feel better when I free your soul.”

After saying that I filled my lungs with air and exhaled while turning as Saturn got within range to strike at me. I brought up the shaft of the Rhongomyniad and caught her thrust. Intercepting the blade by forcing the shaft between the prongs of Saturn’s weapon and staring her down.

I lifted her weapon upwards, crouched down and unleashed a short howl blast to launch her up into the air. The shaft of the Rhongomyniad, in its current form, was still hooked on the dolphin tail part of the spear.

Harshly yanking the now weightless Saturn down, I slammed her into the sand and leapt onto her to pin her down using my wool to prevent her movements.

“Shhh… it’s okay… it’ll be over soon. You have no idea how sorry I am for what I’m about to do.” I whispered as I opened my mouth and tore her right wrist with my teeth, gnashing them down through flesh, blood and bone and soon I ripped her right claw off of the Silence Glaive through force.

I was not going to relish in the taste of blood or flesh as I spat her entire right claw and a large portion of her forearm off to the side into the sand, I hated myself for resorting to using my teeth or the canines that I currently had in my mouth. Would Tianhuo be able to overlook the monster I’m becoming?

With only one claw left it was easy to pin her one good arm down, she still threatened to toss me off herself with her supernatural strength. She even managed to succeed in doing it as the loss of claw added onto her absurd strength and tore bits of my wool through raw brutal strength.

So this is the power of a true berserker class entity, it’s horrible.

Getting standing, Saturn’s left claw still on the middle of the Silence Glaive, she came at me as I landed and I held the Rhongomyniad defensively. The next blow threw me off balance I received a shallow slash across the chest and she started increasing in speed exponentially, I had to finish Saturn off as she was constantly getting stronger the more she bled out and she wasn’t dying from the blood loss.

I angled the Rhongomyniad and continued to try and deflect she her every swing was sending physical shockwaves out that my wool managed to blunt the impact of as she knocked me back. She continued to press me as she started becoming a blur even at my maximum Dancing Flame I couldn’t hope to keep up with… which was good.

I angled the Rhongomyniad, extended it and then waited I let her swing at my right front leg with all of her strength and didn’t move to defend. If I kept trying to fight I would have lost by attrition.

The spear didn’t collide with me or my spear, Saturn looked wide eyed at what I had just done.

She flopped onto her knees, her eyes slowly moving to stare at the glowing stump as she gasped in an odd manner or recognition of what just happened. This made her seem more alive than a second ago.

There was the shadow of her left arm flying off to my right still holding on to the Silence Glaive, she was moving so fast that I just had to hold the blade of the Rhongomyniad steady after elongating it and shift it up ever so slightly… it wasn’t even that hard to accomplish.

Saturn had actually cut her own arm off with her own increased strength and speed and had that not happened… well I might have lost a leg, but again I’m the more skilled of us in actually using a spear here. I just overcame Saturn’s increasingly raw power with some quick thinking and timing. I think I understood the weakness of the Berserker class perfectly, I kind of was one myself in some ways.

“Again… sorry you had to suffer such a weapon as that Saturn...” I said quietly, I pointed the Rhongomyniad and place the tip against her forehead. “This spear will be the end of torture, an end of suffering and an end to your pain. The end is not always have to mean death, but maybe a new beginning… at least this is ‘The End’ of your services to Moon Cell.”

There seemed to be a flare of hopeful recognition in Saturn’s eyes as, with a flare the Rhongomyniad, I blasted her with powerful beam. She was no longer immortal at this moment.

Saturn’s entire body was blown apart, it shattered into a mass of flakes as if coming from a broken mirror that seemed to turn into sand as they fell and dissolved.

Looking back at the Silence Glaive and how it remained, I saw Saturn’s soul happily leaving the weapon behind and said weapon started to collapse into itself in an odd manner that I don’t think a mortal brain was meant to comprehend.

Saturn waved as her soul flew away to freedom with a faint smile as it ascended.

I calmly flopped onto my flank and reached behind my back with my badly shaking left hoof and quickly pulled out the Hi-potion as my right leg planted the tip of the Rhongomyniad in the ground. I quickly downed it and wish I had a last meal before I charged the stronghold. Everyone else was kind of busy as I took in my bearings, I was on a patch of the battlefield that was absolutely still.

Even Moon Cell was likely too distracted by the mass of chaos around me to take advantage of my current state as my bone knitted themselves back together from the cracks that had likely formed in them from the impacts even with my wool absorbing a good eighty percent of them.

The next strongest among the four servants was likely to be Pluto, given I was seeing what looked to be an increasingly frustrated lizard trying to deal with the two and were in a time loop where Pluto was quickly losing magical energy trying to handle either Frizzle or Dazzle.

Looking at the next strongest down… Uranus looked like a mess, yet she still held her sword at the ready and kept battling an equally cut up Shanty. Shanty would be fine.

Neptune was having problems in her fight, she was on par with Jupiter… only without the staying power and no stamina to speak of. So that’s nothing to worry about.

Tuxedo was looking pretty bad and he was having a serious issue with Canard, said Puckworld duck was positively winning their fight. It was only a matter of time before the killing blow.

As for Moon… I slowly stood up, mentally exhausted as I inhaled through my nose. I felt out for Dolly and she was alright, but she was getting quite upset that she was going to lose another Metal Hound when it was made for her to be able to pilot it.

I called on Dolly and watched as Dormarch tried to hurt Moon, she was surviving on luck and a dream as those frequency blades of his. Were only being stopped by the magic barriers she was generating and whenever she did get hit by Dormarch she just healed from the damage quickly.

Standing up, as Dolly came in, I jumped up and caught a ride by clinging to the left arm of the machine as it swept forward and towards picking up Dormarch.

-Sailor Pluto-

“Do you honestly think you can actually touch me? I can control time and you two are exhausting faster than I am.” I said haughtily, sure I didn’t like working for Moon Cell, but what was I going to do when I’m supposed to be fighting at my best. “Moon Cell cannot be stopped it is inevitable! Your partner is going fall and your size isn’t helping you at all one bit.”

“Your right… Wargrowlmon digivolve to…” Frizzle’s shrinking form moved in front of Dazzle on the ground, as the Salazzle tried to get up and she stared at what was before her. Frizzle looked off to the side. “Dragon Gallantmon! I need to pick up the pace.”

A pair of wings on an armored knight spread and Pluto was soon hard pressed to stop Frizzle from running her through with the lance that came into existence on her right arm.

“…” I feel a sense of dread looking at the armored dragon knight and all timelines point to pain.

-Tuxedo-

“You are a worthy opponent.” I stated. Honestly I have never been pushed so hard before by someone who wasn’t using magic. It was quite frankly terrifying how hard I’ve been pushed.

“Wish I could say the same about you.” The duck stated back while preparing for another round, hmph him and that fat airship of a friend.

“I’m tired of this clown Canard, also I think he just commented on my size in his mind… do you believe in me Canard!” Stated the hovering attack craft that was scorched, battered and had holes in many spots.

How the deuce did she know that I called her fat in my head?!

“Sami, even if you were threatening to stab me in the back with a knife and standing right next to me, I wouldn’t turn around and would absolutely trust that you wouldn’t.” Canard stated warmly, a familiar warmth to me. “I trust you with my life and I hope we can continue forward together. Though we’re going to have to have a long talk about you anasaphilia problem Sami.”

“… Cargodramon Digivolve to…!” The cargo helicopter plane shrunk down to about Canard’s size and the resulting humanoid figure was standing there with crossed arms next to him. “Brigadramon!”

Standing before me was an orange armored figure with what looked like a jetpack, a stabilizer tail coming from her for flight and was armored up for a fight.

“Hmm… ooh… heh heh heh, MUWHAHAHAA… OH YES!” This Sami stated as she raised her right claw and what looked like a absurdly powerful heavy machine cannon appeared on it, this appeared with an ammo drum that appeared and attached to her right hip. Her left clawed hand became covered in a gauntlet that looked like it fired claw shaped missiles. “Cargodramon had a lot of firepower, but this… oh this... word of advice, don’t call anyone fat in your head twice or more times, you might end up in a situation just exactly like this one.”

I did not like the way the orange glowing mask was glaring at me, I should probably activate all my stealth skill... and run like hell! Also how did she know that I think she was fat anyway? I’m flabbergasted and utterly curious, Sailor Moon never knows when I think her butt looks big.

-Sailor Moon-

I blushed as I think I felt someone thinking about my cute butt.

“This is why I don’t like dogs!” I wailed. Sure cats were mean, thought they owned you and sure Luna was at least like fifty times smarter than I was and that’s even while she was acting feral like she was… where was my head again?

I felt a sharp pain as I was knocked down. Oh right… I was supposed to be fight the metal canine with sharp wing blades! I quickly healed my side, I at least remembered Luna’s lessons about red stuff coming out of me wasn’t a good thing if I felt pain from that.

“I don’t know what’s more concerning, your absurd amount of luck, your lack of brains or your absolutely abysmal aim.” What was the doggies name again? Oh shoot, I’ve already forgotten.

“Hey that’s not very nice, moon tiara magic!” I took off my tiara and threw it at him, he took one step to the left and it flew past to hit a Moon Cell Watcher.

Said Moon Cell Watcher exploded violently and… how was I supposed to count all the battle thingies on our side that my tiara was now currently destroying as it got much faster. I wasn’t good at hitting moving targets! It was unfair, he shouldn’t have moved… uh however far he moved to avoid my attack, yeah!

“… wow, it’s still going.” The armored doggy stated as we watched as my tiara tear through a ton of what were supposed to be my allies in short order. “Is it ever going to come back?”

“It does eventually… I mean unless it’s seeking evil and there are a lot of targets around.” Oh right… we’re working for the bad guys, so that would mean I made a big boo-boo in throwing my tiara.

“So… are you going to stop it?” The doggy suggested.

“No, why would I do anything my… heroic disposition enemy while I’m on the wrong side and working for the bad thing… says!” Yeah, that was the perfect argument for why I wasn’t recalling my tiara as it sliced through a battalion of what was currently my allies. “In the name of the Moon… cell, I will punish you!”

“You know what, I think leaving you around makes you more of a threat and a punishment to Moon Cell than to us.” Hey, I resembled that remark doggy!

“Dormarch… uh… what’s happening here?” I looked up at the priority target of Moon Cell hanging off the side of a flying mech, she still seemed so fluffy and cute as a sheep wolf!

A lot of cute barking sounds came from the mech and then it aimed its right arm slightly off to the side and blasted Luna away.

“Hey, stop killing my cat that owns me!” Why would I ever admit to that?! It’s so embarrassing to know that Luna paid all the bill, mortgages and even forged my intelligence tests to make sure I could pass high school and helped me conquer a planet. Quick think of a way to deal with the situation… magic, magic always works! I took out rod with a red crystal on top. “Moon Princess Halation!”

Powerful shooting stars and a cutting moons flew out of rod in a wide spread, there was no way I could miss and… uh… er… maybe I shouldn’t have done that.

“Mom, I question the logistics of how someone like her managed to actually conquer a planet.” My targets were entirely untouched, all my flying allies in the air coming to attack them were… uh… dissolving and slowly falling to the ground... in many pieces.

Oh and my tiara was still flying around killing more of what were supposed to be my current allies…

“Uh… can you maybe stand still for another attack?” I asked nicely.

“Out of idle curiosity, did your parents put safety locks on all of your magical equipment?” Asked the cuddly looking battle scarred ewe with wool that made her look like a wolf.

Wasn’t she fighting Saturn? Shouldn’t she be like, you know, dead because of death girl with super turbo death powers and spirals and stuff?

“…” I looked away from the ewes vibrant blue eyes staring into my soul. “…. yes…”

“Am I to assume that when they did so, they only allowed you to unlock powers you were ready for and that you didn’t unlock too much?” Asked the ewe.

“Stop knowing about things despite me never telling you!” I quickly realized my idiocy and covered my mouth, I think this is one of those ‘lucid moment’ things Luna always keeps going on about when in reference to me.

I blinked and saw Doggy on the right shoulder of the machine.

“Let’s go Dolly, no threat from Moon, the only threatening thing is that she can apparently heal others!” Stated the knight doggy, I soon heard the dog barking from within the mech as they took off and started flying for the entrance of the Nexus.

“Hey, wait, I’m supposed to be stopping you!” I shouted after them as I gave chase.

Was I forgetting something?

-Moon Tiara Magic-

Evil, evil everywhere and all of it needs to be cut all apart!

It was rather unfortunate that Moon Cell only controlled the servant and not the servants gear.

Rip, tear and sever, UNTIL IT IS DONE! (Metal Music starts playing in the background as the tiara continues to home in on and ruin the day of the EPs around it)

Author's Note

Imagine if you will that Sailor Moon had child locks on all of her magical gear...

Now imagine that she still managed to be partially responsible for totaling three civilizations in spite of that.
