It had been a month since training had begun, Sunset and Goku had just finished their daily training with Roshi. Sunset smiled at her new mentor “I wish to check on dad, we’ll be back in a couple of hours.”

Roshi waved a hand “That’s fine, you have been exceeding my expectations since you got here. You have learnt a lot under Gohan and I may soon run out of things to teach you two.”

Goku bowed “Thank you Master.” The pair hopped on Kin Toun and as they flew over Mt Paozu they recognised the vehicle as one similar to the one Bulma came to the mountain in. They got closer to their home only to find that Bulma was mediating next to Gohan, a faint aura glowing around her.

Sunset giggled “I didn’t expect to see you here Bulma, I thought you were busy with school.”

Bulma spoke, her eyes closed “Twilight is the most precious thing in the world to me. She stuck with me in spite of everything, as long as I can protect her nothing else matters. All the brains in the world can’t protect her without the power to back it up.”

Gohan opened his eyes “You have been making great progress. When you came to me for training I was worried you would not be capable of it but you have proved me wrong. You will grow stronger as long as you keep up your training.”

Bulma stood up and bowed “Thank you master but I must be returning to my dorm. I will continue on my own as best I can with what you have shown me until we meet next.”

Gohan smiled as Bulma got into her car “She has a warrior's spirit, there are many things that strengthen one’s will to grow stronger. She has found hers.”

Sunset smiled “Well she might actually become quite a capable fighter if she keeps up her training. I would love to see her grow stronger.”

Goku’s stomach growled at them, he frowned as he rubbed his stomach “Is there anything I can eat?”

Gohan laughed “I’ll prepare something for us, come on inside.” The three them entered his hut, Gohan gestured to Sunset “How has your training been progressing?”

Sunset shrugged “At this rate he doesn’t seem to have much to teach, much of it is about power but I have a feeling he had something that he is hiding from us. He will teach us when the time is right.”

Gohan chuckled “I know what technique you are talking about, he is very protective of that technique. Took him fifty years to be able to use it and longer to master it. He will teach you when he is ready to pass it down.”

Sunset nodded “That is dedication, I understand why he is keeping it from us and why you sent us to him. To learn the technique of the master who created it.”

Gohan nodded as he headed to the kitchen. Goku asked nervously “Um after the tournament, could we go looking for the Dragonballs again. That adventure was a lot of fun and well, we won’t have much to do afterwards.”

Sunset raised an eyebrow “Why do you want to search for them.”

Goku rubbed the back of his head “Well it’s because then I can fight a lot of strong people and get a lot stronger because of it.”

Sunset smiled “Well that is a good reason, besides there probably are bad guys who want to use them again. If we collect them then they can’t use them to do anything drastic.”

Gohan soon returned with food “I must respect that you both have a drive to get stronger. One must never rest on one’s laurels, there is always someone stronger.”

Sunset cheered “I can agree to that, to growing stronger together!”

Goku cheered “Yeah, we will show the world our strength!” The trio ate their meal with smiles on their faces. Goku smiled “Thanks for the food Grandpa.”

Gohan smiled back “Your welcome Goku.”

Sunset turned to Goku “Want to collect some firewood for Dad?” Goku nodded as Sunset waved to Gohan “We’ll be back shortly.” Gohan nodded with a smile, the mother and son into the forest. Sunset put a hand on a tree and proceeded to pull it out of the ground. She tossed it towards Goku, Goku cut it into finely cut logs at rapid speed.

Goku looked at the logs “Do think this will be enough?”

Sunset smiled “Well we could get more but we don’t want to destroy the forest. Now please help me carry these logs back to the hut.” Sunset and Goku returned to the hut, Gohan was sitting in front of the hut meditating. Sunset whispered “Suppress your energy like I taught you.”

Goku nodded, they carried the logs over to the side of the house. Sunset pulled out a marker and put a single black dot on Gohan’s head. They then snuck back into the house, ten minutes later Gohan reentered the house.

Goku and Sunset giggled, Gohan frowned “What are you laughing about?”

Sunset smirked “Check the mirror in the bathroom and you will see.”

Gohan walked into the bathroom and saw the back dot on his forehead, he chuckled to himself before washing it off. He reentered the room “Suppressing one’s energy isn’t easy to do. That was pretty impressive I must say.”

Goku slumped “It took me a while to figure it out, it was so hard to understand how to do it.”

Gohan crouched down “It took me decades to figure out how to do that. You have potential that I haven’t seen in anyone else other than maybe your mother, don’t ever be disappointed in where you are at. You can always grow stronger, the only limit is in your will to grow stronger.”

Sunset smiled “He is right son. If you ever feel down again just tell me about it, I promise we will get to the bottom of it.” She then turned to Gohan “We better get going, Roshi would us back soonish. I hope that Krillin is getting there.”
