Goku and Krillin cleared out the competition beating each opponent that faced them in a single strike. Sunset and Bulma were watching, waiting patiently for their turns. Goku and Krillin had easily made it into the main tournament, Sunset and Bulma soon following suit.

The four of them exited the building only to see Roshi, Gohan, Twilight and Oolong standing next to each other amidst the large crowd. They made their way through the crowd, Bulma smiled warmly “Twilight.”

Twilight leapt at her, Bulma caught the leaping girl and pulled her into a kiss. Roshi’s jaw dropped as Gohan chuckled, Sunset smiled “I’m happy for you two.”

Oolong grinned “I been having a lot of fun in the city, it’s good to see you all again!”

Bulma cracked her knuckles “Who is ready for the tournament, I can’t wait to see how much stronger I’ve gotten!”

A voice boomed “We will now begin the Tenkaichi Budoukai! To the eight chosen contestants, please gather yourselves in the main temple!”

Goku grinned as he grabbed Krillin and hopped over the wall “Let’s go!” Sunset and Bulma leapt after them as the four of them ran into a tall fancy temple. They saw a man wearing a turban mediating, a strange short dragon like creature, a huge smelly man with barely any clothes on and Yamcha standing in the corner. Bulma glared at him immediately.

Sunset winced as she could smell the huge guy from across the room “That guy smells like he has never washed himself in his entire life.” Her muzzle scrunched up as the smelly giant man walked through the group many of them pinching their noses.

The announcer informed them as he pointed to a simple chart on the wall “In order to determine order of battles we will do another lottery. Sunset is first.” Sunset pulled out number 7, he then called out to the man with the turban “Nam is next.” Nam bowed politely as he took out the next number which was six.

The dragon looking creature whose name was Gilan pulled out 8. The huge smelly man, whose name was Bacterian pulled out number 2. Bulma pulled out number 4 and Yamcha pulled out number 3, their glares met each other. Krillin pulled out 1 and Goku pulled out 5.

The announcer boomed “The first match is between Bacterian and Krillin! Now for the rules, the battles are one on one with no time limit! If you fall off the stage, or say anything like giving up then you will lose! Any attacks on vitals will have you disqualified! Now wait here the tournament will begin soon!”

The announcer left, Goku asked “Can I have lunch?”

The announcer frowned “Are you sure you want to eat before fighting?”

Goku nodded, food was soon prepared. Goku ate as the other waited for the tournament to start. They then heard the announcer boom “Thank you for waiting for so long. Now being the 21st Tenkaichi Budoukai! The first match is between Krillin and Bacterian!”

Krillin walked out with a determined look on his face, he got into a battle stance in front of the hulking man. The announcer boomed “Our contestant here is Krillin, the youngest contestant to grace this tournament! His opposition is Bacterian a huge man who has never bathed in his entire life! Without further ado let the match begin!”

Krillin didn’t waste anytime, he leapt towards Bacterian delivering a barrage of punches quickly knocking him out. Krillin chuckled as he poked the centre of his face “Smelling bad matters little to someone who has no nose.”

The announcer boomed “The victory goes to Krillin whose speed and strength was too much for the huge Bacterian!”

Krillin walked out with a smile on his face, Goku cheered “That was amazing!”

Sunset smiled “You did a good job Krillin, I hope you can stand up to Bulma in the next round. She will win her match against Yamcha. I can tell.”

Bulma was already walking into the stage as was Yamcha, both eyeing the other. Bulma growled “I entered the tournament to beat you!”

Yamcha smirked “Well I guess you will leave disappointed.”

The announcer’s voice pierced the air “It seems that Yamcha, one of the two infamous Desert Bandits has caused a grudge within Bulma the prodigal daughter of Dr Briefs, head of Capsule Corp! Let’s see how this match goes! You may begin!”

Yamcha leapt at Bulma, delivering a straight punch. Bulma pushed it to the side and caught the second punch. She then slammed her knee into his stomach, Yamcha growled as he stood up “You think this is a game! I will win this fight!”

Krillin looked towards “Are you sure she can win, she doesn’t look that strong.”

Sunset smiled “She wasn’t fighter until eight months ago but Gohan my father taught her. She has all the basics down pat, her opponent does not.”

Yamcha roared as he charged “Wolf Fang Fist!” Sunset noticed that Jackie was watching with a slight smirk as Puar was cheering.

Bulma had grabbed his arm mid swing and punched him hard in the gut. She then followed that with a punch to the jaw “You waste so much time with your movements.” She then kicked him out of the ring “You have missed many of the basics that fighter needs to know. You are too predictable, every movement you make is so obvious.”

Bulma then turned to the crowd “Eight months ago I had never thrown a punch, now I am here as one of the top four fighters in the Tenkaichi Budoukai. Anyone can be a fighter if they only find their reason for fighting, their reason to become as strong as they can no matter how hard it is!”

The crowd cheered, Bulma closed her eyes as she left the ring. The sound of the cheers didn’t matter to her, she had defeated Yamcha. That was worth more than almost anything in the world, in fact there was only one thing worth more to her and she would protect that until her death.
