Chapter 31: Training on Yardrat
Previous ChapterNext ChapterVegeta was pulled by Sunset’s incredible strength after the Yardrats, they arrived at a large tower like structure. They soon were guided to a room. When the Yardrats opened the door, they discovered it it was fairly small with a singular bed in the room. There was also small drawers and a simple bathroom.
Vegeta frowned as Sunset let go of his arm “Why are you so excited?”
Sunset grinned “The faster we got here the sooner we could train, I want to learn everything that I can from Pybara. We need to go.”
Vegeta put a hand on her “Slow down, tell me about yourself. If we are going to be sharing a single room, I might as well get to know you.”
Sunset sighed as they walked down the tower “I was the student of the High Princess back home, we didn’t have Queens or Kings. Princess Celestia taught me a lot but I also learned on my own, I was the most capable mage aside from the Princess yet she stopped providing me with books. Stopped allowing me to learn, to increase the power of my magic.”
Vegeta raised an eyebrow “That sounds stupid.”
Sunset grimaced “She blabbed on about morals and me making friends. She was so out of touch, how was I so suppose develop morals form the arrogant ponies who would only be friends so they could get closer to her ‘glorious radiance.’ There was no way to make friends in Canterlot!”
Vegeta nodded “I’m guessing you ran away and that’s how you got to Earth.”
Sunset smirked “I hopped through dimensions but that’s enough about me. Tell what your home was like.”
Vegeta frowned “I don’t much about my Planet Vegeta before it’s destruction. After the Saiyans were recruited by King Cold years before I was born, our world became a military hub for what became the Frieza Force. I was sent on so many mission during my younger years that I barely remember the planet.”
Sunset put a hand on his shoulder “I’m sorry.”
Vegeta shook his head “It’s good to get this off my chest. The truth is I had a lot of blood on my hands but after Planet Vegeta’s destruction I was lost. That only grew further when I forced into Rainbow’s squad. I had nothing left, my title was meaningless. I was technically at the bottom and not trusted to do any work.”
Sunset blinked “But you were stronger than the other two above you.”
Vegeta chuckled “More powerful but less loyal. Neither Frieza nor Rainbow trusted me but didn’t think I was any real threat. I was very cruel when I was young but that changed as I saw Frieza and Rainbow, I didn’t want to be them. So I tried to be kinder, more considerate. To be different from those who I opposed.”
Sunset frowned “Why did you pity Rainbow?”
Vegeta’s face darkened “She was who I could have become had I been in charge of the Saiyans. Someone molded to suit Frieza’s ideals, him living on through another. It was sad to see that happen to a fellow Saiyan, he tossed her aside so casually!”
Sunset nodded “I can understand that. Still we should hurry, don’t wish to leave Pybara waiting.” They soon returned to Pybara.
Pybara waved his hand “We Yardrats may lack raw power but we can teach you how to refine your spirit. I must admit Sunset’s spirit is far more refined, now we shall mediate. Meditation helps one refine their spirit, you need to do more than just mediate. You need to reach into your energy and find peace within your energy which will increase your power immensely.”
Sunset and Vegeta sat down, Sunset smiled “Vegeta you need to close your eyes. You have never done this before so this will be difficult but a fighter must train both mind and body.” The two closed their eyes.
Pybara watched them closely. He could feel Sunset’s energy was loud and fierce yet calm, controlled. Vegeta’s was like a wildfire burning everything in it’s path, to calm it and press forward for him will be much harder.
Vegeta was beginning to sweat, he turned away and got some water. He walked back only to see Vegeta open his eyes and pant, he gave him the glass which he guzzled. Pybara took a deep breath “Your energy is quite wild, young Vegeta. It will take you a long time before you truly master the abilities we have to offer.”
Vegeta turned to Sunset “What about her?”
Pybara smiled “She may master most techniques buy the end of the years and learn enough to finish her training without us. She also will be able to instruct you when you return.”
Vegeta took a deep breath “I should at least get the basics down.”
Sunset raises a hand and suddenly a powerful fiery aura flares up around her before dissipating. Sunset stood up “I almost had it.”
Vegeta frowned “What was that?”
Sunset smirked “I call it Mana Mode, it’s inspired by your Super Saiyan. I made by combining my magical energy with my Ki I can do a transformation similar to Super Saiyan, I will actively do it soon. Can you transform into Super Saiyan at will.”
Vegeta closed his eyes and focused, a golden aura flared around him as his hair turned gold. His blue eyes looking forward, he took a deep breath “This is hard to maintain.”
Sunset frowned “Well try to maintain as long as possible. It will help you sustain it for longer.”
Vegeta winced “I’m starting to wonder whether the original Super Saiyan from the legend burnt himself out of power and died that way rather than destroying himself from losing control.”
Sunset shrugged “I’m not a Saiyan so I don’t know the legend, regardless it would be wise to practice enough that you don’t yourself out. We are going to have a busy year learning all we can from here before returning home.” Vegeta nodded as he sat down to try and mediate once more, Sunset also returning to her mediation under the watchful eyes of Pybara.
Author's Note
I don't think there any real new power levels to add here. I probably will do at least one more chapter of in between stuff first.
