The unicorn made no attempt to acknowledge the smug voice, the rattling of armor as hooves came clopping closer. That wasn’t part of her assignment. She kept her attention focused upon the task at hand. These tapestries weren’t going to realign themselves, preferable though that might have been.
“Hey, marshmallow.” Just a few paces away. Rarity was sure that she was within reaching distance by now. “Don’t you know that you’re supposed to listen when an officer addresses you?”
“I know that I’m supposed to be doing my job,” she replied tersely. She felt the creasing of skin as she craned her neck upward, carefully examining the dark indigo tapestry, decorated with the moon and the stars, which hung from the wall, stretching into the shadows near the ceiling. The cyan aura of her magic dissipated once she was satisfied. “Oughtn’t you be doing your own job, lieutenant?” She spoke the title with biting denigration, as if she, a mere palace maid, could outrank a royal guard. “Is there not some hall you should be patrolling or a high tower you should be standing watch on?”
“There is, as a matter of fact.” The owner of the smug voice spoke assuredly, perhaps expecting this argument and having her rebuttal prepared, all the more confident in her position. “And it just so happens that my patrol brings me right past this fat ass of yours.”
The touch came then, as had been anticipated. Right upon her cutie mark, the slope of Rarity’s thigh. The fingers squeezed tightly, greedily, sizing up the thickness and pliancy of the broad slab of flesh. The aggressiveness of this motion made it seem like there was an attempt to elicit a reaction out of her, but she didn’t flinch in the slightest. The armor of the night guard supplied those who were tasked with wearing it with a degree of anonymity. It couldn’t fully obscure all of her sky-blue coat, though, or her violet eyes, or that confident grin which was so typical of her.
“You know that our Mistress does not appreciate sampling of her personal property,” Rarity said icily, the threat unspoken, like a concealed dagger. Though, at the same time, she made no attempt to shake the pegasus off either.
“Yeah, I know,” Rainbow Dash muttered, only half-listening, her gaze firmly drawn downward to the expanse of Rarity’s body. The expanse which occupied a significant span between the two of them. She leaned in closer and placed her other hand upon one of Rarity’s breasts, sinking into the doughy surface, kneading through the thin barrier of silken cloth that covered her skin. There was a yearning within her to pant and moan, a base instinct, but she had learned to suppress that a long time ago. That wasn’t part of her assignment.
“You must be aware, then, that the Mistress will be forced to punish you severely for this gross misconduct.” She said this matter-of-factly, no subtle pleasure at the idea of such, but certainly without regret as well.

“Utmost importance my ass!” Rainbow Dash snarled back, sparks crackling in her eyes, fighting back against the intangible forcefield between them. “You’re going to stay here until I’m done with you or else—”
There was a crack as suddenly the titanic mass of a white pony blinked out of existence right in front of her.
Rarity’s magic went with her, leaving Rainbow Dash to topple forward with a crashing clatter on the floor. She grunted and swore as she rubbed her nose. Her wings stood out stiff from her back. “We didn’t even get to the good part…”

Rarity momentarily felt the weightlessness of freefall before her hooves came to rest with a heavy thump upon the floor. Once again, a tremulous wobble shook through her form, but her expression remained as stern and stoic as before. She was used to this. This was very much a part of her assignment.
The Mistress usually had the decency to give her subordinates advance warning when she required something of them.
She did not, however, have the patience to wait for them to navigate the expansive halls of the castle to reach wherever she was waiting, especially a pony as encumbered as Rarity, so usually she would opt to teleport them directly to her.
The room the unicorn now found herself in was dark, only lit by a single ethereal blue candle on a table in front of her, casting long shadows over the walls. Her eyes would take a while longer to adjust to the gloom, but she was well-acquainted with the arrangements and the décor. Gothic furniture in blues and silvers and blacks stood against the walls, eerie twisted and curling shapes that in the low light appeared to be squat ghoulish figures, bowed in reverence. Further tapestries were hung around the perimeter, most of them depicting scenes of a dark pony standing over others—a white mare with a rainbow mane being a prominent recurring figure among them. Far in the shadows of the back of the room there was the shape of a sprawling bed, a low, hulking silhouette.
There was a mirror to the side in which Rarity could see her own reflection in profile—or, at least, a portion of it, as the glass surface wasn’t broad enough to fit her entirely. It would be difficult at a first glance to identify where the center of her mass was, where her skeletal structure began, buried as it was underneath vast acres of flesh. Her bosom jutted out farther in front of herself than the span of her arms, and the vast shelf of her thighs and buttocks did the same for the sides and rear. Her purple mane and tail were tied up in buns, and the doughy plumpness of her face couldn’t entirely detract from the severity of her gaze.
Rarity took a great deal of pleasure in her appearance, not that she was likely to show much indication of it in public or even most private venues, as her reputation and position were of far greater importance. The ways in which she could use her appearance to further her reputation and position were the most important of all.
She turned her focus forward again, toward the one who had summoned her here.
The Mistress sat, watching her, on the other side of the table with the candle. It was difficult to properly identify her while Rarity’s eyes still adjusted to the gloom. Her mane stood out, a billowing cloud of blue dotted with stars, like a piece of the night sky, as did her eyes, icy circles with slitted, predatory pupils, and the thin crescent moon sliver of her smile. The rest of her body, though, was pitch black, and almost seemed to absorb what little light was around her. She had to be identified by her silhouette, an absence of space.
She was already naked. There wasn’t any point in maintaining formalities at this point (not that there was anypony who could have told her this was improper). She would frequently greet guests in this manner, just to see what their reaction would be. Rarity had seen this transpire many times, and there wasn’t much of a consistent pattern in which resulting action would be taken afterward. It depended more upon the Mistress’ mood at the time than how aroused or confused or disgusted the pony might be.
No words were exchanged for several long seconds. The dark mare seemed more than content to merely stare at Rarity, to drink in her shapeliness. The unicorn’s own body stood out strikingly in the low light, curves of gentle white reflecting the glow from the candle, cast in dull azure. She kept her hooves planted firmly upon the floor and held her arms clutched against the sides of her midsection, staring unflinchingly ahead, not speaking a word. “Take a seat, then,” she said, gesturing to the empty space across from her.
“Thank you, Mistress.” The unicorn bowed, her chin pressing into the folds of her neck, her gut into her lap, before she stepped forward. There was no chair prepared for her, but again the routine she was accustomed to told her not to worry over such details. She stepped forward, her gait broad and straddled, grinding her legs together in the process, and, when she moved into position in front of the table, she simply leaned backward into a chair that manifested in place behind her. The “chair” was really more like a bench, as was necessary to accommodate her stupendous width, and her thighs still pressed into the wrought iron arm rests on the sides. Sitting down also wasn’t much different compared to standing, for as thick as the cushion of her rump was, keeping her raised.

“Would you permit me to assist you directly, then?” That crescent smile gleamed in the candlelight.
“Of course, Mistress. I am always grateful for your generosity.”
“And I for yours.”
The two of them rose at the same time, though Rarity’s sluggish body made it so that she was a few seconds behind in this process, and as she stood to her full height Nightmare Moon was already stepping around the table. In motion it became easier to see the faint gleam cast upon her features by the candle, the sinewy tone underneath her skin and the flowing curvature of her frame. “She made unwarranted advances on me despite my warnings as to what the consequences would inevitably be.” Rarity said this all with the utmost nonchalance. “I’m reasonably certain that she was drunk as well. She more or less admitted to me that she was trying to goad you on again.”
“Yes, I am aware,” she grumbled back irritably, “I picked that up as I was scrying for you. That Rainbow Dash is getting on my last nerve…” She squeezed and pushed harder with a slight buck of her hips. “If she weren’t so effective at combat I would have kicked her off the guard and banished her by now. She knows that I can’t afford to be rid of her.”
“Well…perhaps you should give her a reassignment, then.” Rarity whispered into her own ear now, and there was a sort of gossiping, mischievous undertone breaking through her professional demeanor. “If she’s so eager to be intimate with you, then let her be. And she’d be under my charge as well if that were the case; I’d be sure to whip her into shape for you.” There was a low chuckle in the depths of her throat, buried under the folds of her neck, as she let her hips sway from one side to the other.
Nightmare Moon went still as she hummed in thought. The sound was a low tectonic rumbling. They were so close together that they couldn’t truly see each other’s faces, but Rarity could still feel the muscles creasing in the dark mare’s cheek as she grinned wider than ever. “Yes…that sounds like it would be a more favorable outcome.” She giggled as her tongue slipped out to lap at Rarity’s face, pushing into the pliant surface. “And I’m sure it’s not motivated in the slightest by the way she treated you earlier.”
“Certainly not, Mistress,” Rarity replied, though she was grinning herself.
Nightmare Moon continued nuzzling her for a few seconds longer before she made the announcement of “That’s enough sampling. We need to bring out the main course.”
Rarity bit her lip unconsciously.
The alicorn pulled away, slowly dragging her arms along the breadth of the white mare’s chest in the process, toward the front. She paused briefly over the far ends, pushing into the spaces over the nipples. Then to the center, to the buttons. They can only be pushed so far with force before they break. It is becoming apparent to me that ruling with fear is only going to get me so far. Rarity, for her part, still attempted to hold up a neutral countenance, while the fires inside her were stoked more and more, and now while she had to muster some attempt at cognizant thought. “Perhaps…you ought to work on a new image for yourself.”
Through the haze of lust, Nightmare Moon’s icy eyes were suddenly fixed pointedly upon her. A lesser pony might have fallen to their knees or fainted on the spot. Rarity was tougher than that, despite her soft shape. This was part of her assignment.
“Consider…a role of protector, rather than conqueror.” She gave a cursory glance at some of the tapestries around the room. “A monarch graciously protecting her ponies from the terrors of the night. They will gladly offer fealty to you if they understand that you are offering a concrete benefit for them.”
