Day 20
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI'm sore..
Today I helped Applejack on the farm, it's really a stunning place, really beautiful. I met her family too. I have already met Big Mac, but this time I got to meet her granny, Granny Smith. She's awesome, and she bakes a mean apple pie! She also has a little sister, Apple Bloom, the most adorable filly I have ever met for the first time. That big pink bow in her mane, I almost died from an overdose of cuteness.
So Applejack showed me the things I had to do, which seemed simple enough. I asked If I should pick apples, but she insisted I was not ready for that yet. So like any good pony intern I stuck to the things she asked me to do.
I watered the field by turning several wheels! Why in the hell she just not keep the others open and then just turn one to feed the entire line I have no clue.
It was like everything she wanted me to do I needed to go through an insane amount of unnecessary effort. At first I thought it was to train me more, but I don't think that's the case.
The most insane thing however was how she wanted me to feed the pigs. She wanted me to open and close the gate, make faces at them, dance like a chicken, tie rope around my barrel and jump from the roof of the barn!
Yeah, I wasn't going to do any of that.
I simply dumped the food into the trough and spread a little amount among the pigs to get them to realize there is food. Worked like a charm and I saved like an hour of work.
Applejack was impressed with me, at first I thought she was kidding, but then I found out she was actually serious. I explained to her the reason that I finished so fast was because I didn't do all those slow things she wanted me to do.
She was a little confused at first, so I explained, and once done she was apparently even more impressed. So impressed in fact I was rewarded with more work, this time pulling carts.
Yay me!
So Now I'm sore, lying in my room. Twilight is making me some tea as a reward for a hard day of work well done, that will go well with the pie Granny gave me for the same thing. Pie, tea, and a mare to bring it up to me.
All I need now is one of Spike's comic books and I would be living the dream!
I have to admit, despite the hard work I feel like it was a good day. It was fun working with Applejack and Big Mac, and it was nice talking to Granny and meeting Apple Bloom. All in all I think I've had some good experiences so far. I will miss them when I go home, so I will try to enjoy each day as they come.
Twilight suggested I'll start writing my own friendship reports to Celestia, but I told her no way.
Tomorrow I'm helping Fluttershy. Apparently she likes animals, and since I do too it will hopefully be fun!
A sore, but happy;
Robin.
