Chapter 2: Surviving in Equestria

It was not easy for Max to live in this new world, for the first month Capper brought him food and had him increase his stamina and agility telling him he would not survive with how clumsy he was. So he stayed around the alley he first arrived in since he and Capper were effectively homeless. for training Capper had him sprint a lot each day and to practice moving object without disturbing the other objects around them.

At first Max had a hard time doing much of anything but as each day passed his body was changing rapidly and he was feeling much stronger than he had ever before, even after 1 week his body was recharging faster and faster allowing him to do more and more running each day. His breathing also became easier and he noticed something strange he had cut himself a few times but after a day he would not notice any scarring almost as if when he slept small wounds would heal overnight. At first he was only able to run around 3 miles throughout an entire day, after a week he could run 6 miles in a day, after a month he barely even got tired running all day and could effectively run without tiring.

This was odd to Max and even odd to Capper who thought he would always be slow but he was nearing Capper in endurance though Cappers max speed was still way faster than his running. As well his Dexterity was improving quite well allowing him to move items without others being moved.

Throughout the month Capper and Max grew quite close mostly at night they talked since Capper was gone most of the day while Max trained. Capper would tell Max Stories he heard, his dreams, and just make things up While Max mostly just listened.

After about a month Capper told Max he was ready to come with him to get food. He had already told Max that they would be stealing for food and at first Max was against it but realized he was being a bit of a hypocrite when he had eaten stolen food all this month, and told Capper as long as they only stole what they ate he would do it.

Capper showed him how to keep close to the ground and to seem unassuming. and told him to mostly only target food stalls. Max at first was in awe at all the different creatures he saw throughout the town but snapped out of it when he remember he had to focus on surviving. his first target was an apple stall being quick and using the footwork techniques Capper showed him he moved without making much noise through the crowd around the stall he waited for one of the patrons to start doing business with the stall owner before quickly nabbing an apple with none the wiser to his actions.

as he did this Capper moved from stall to stall doing much the same thing though much faster than Max. Max continued from stall to stall taking what they need for a few days worth. As he was finished he and Capper returned to the alley with their spoils. Max was surprised how well that went, before Capper reassured him "I've been doing this for 3 years and have yet to get caught and I taught you everything you know if you got caught I would've came over and slapped you. I've always been good at sneaking around and you have near the same gift for it I do."

Max was happy that Capper praised him for today and as they settled down to eat he asked "How did it come about that you had to start stealing for food?"

This caused Capper's mood to dampen a little but decided it wouldn't change anything for Max to know "I was abandoned here in this town three years ago by my parents. They were horrid parents to begin with barely fed me anything and would hit me when anything went wrong. so all in all I'm glad I'm not around them anymore!" he started yelling near the end

Upon hearing this Max immediately went to Capper hugging him "that wasn't a family that was just the people who gave birth to you family are people who care about you will always look out for you." Max said in a mellow voice

Capper started crying remembering his childhood was never good for him before responding. "I guess I have no family then."

Max pulled out of the hug. "Well then me and you will have to be a family then. I owe you everything and I always wanted a big brother."

Capper was stunned by this before going for a hug toward Max this time. and telling Max "thanks for that I didn't know I needed that." remembering Max had a family to go to he made a promise. "I Promise you Max one day ill find a way to get you back to your family."

This earned a smile from Max who said "No, one day ill find a way to get us back to our family."

Life continued for another few months with nothing too exciting going on until one day while they were just doing their routine routes for food when they say a patrol of guards going through the city this happened once every so often yet this one had a carriage which looked awfully expensive as Max was grabbing food from one of the carts when a rainbow explosion was seen off in the distance distracting Max causing him to move to fast knocking over a cart of food. As he stumbled he tripped on some of the food causing him to tumble out into the street right in front of the guards and the carriage.

Capper reacted fast going to grab Max before both were grabbed by the guards. "How dare you stop the Storm kings personal carriage!" the guard said before a booming voice came out of the carriage "What's going on out here why have we stopped."

A large satyr came out of the carriage before the guard responded. "Forgive us lord storm king two miscreants blocked the path."

The satyr looked at the two before looking closer toward Max. "well what do we have here what would you be my dear friend?"

Max was slow to answer unsure who this was and began to look toward Capper for an answer before a guard grabbed him "The storm king asked you a question young boy." this new guard which was barely Max's height and wasn't very intimidating.

Stumbling max responded. "M-My name's Max"

"No my dear boy I asked what you are not who" said the Satyr

"I-Im human" replied max

This caused the satyr to pause "Well now that is something I have never heard of before, tell me Max were is it you come from."

Max answered "I'm from Earth sir."

This caused the Satyr to stir a bit "Well now I've been all over the world and have yet to hear of anyplace called Earth tell me boy were is it?"

"I'm not to sure sir I woke up here in this town about 5 months ago with no idea were I am." Max replied

"interesting, boy from hence forth you will be staying at my palace, I find you interesting and wish to learn more about this Earth place." The Satyr said

"um-m sir if its not to much trouble could my friend come along as well?" Max asked

"Boy I have no need for an Abyssinian, however you do need a servant. Boy you will now serve Max as his personal servant do you understand?"

Max was about to protest this when Capper stopped him "Of course your liege anything for my dear friend Max."

Max whispered over to Capper. "What was that for?"

"Listen Max this is the Storm King he's notorious for getting his way one way or another. plus were going into his Palace I don't mind playing servant to you if it mean we get out of the streets." Capper whispered back to max.

"Well ok but I still don't like the idea of my brother playing servant to me." Max replied

"Ok from hence forth Max you are a guest to the palace, you will be trained, fed, and will work with me on a project I've been working on. Abyssinian you will also be trained to be a suitable servant and guard for Max do you both understand?" The Storm king said

"Yes sir" both replied

"Good know climb aboard boys, we've got much to work on." the Storm King said

Author's Note

So the Storm king will act a bit similar but he's not gonna be as much of a 1 dimensional villain. I also viewed him as pretty cautious not taking risks if someone else could, That plays a part into the story later
