"What did I do now!" Sunset angrily muttered,as she rose from the cafeteria table.
"Probably another one of your victims coming back for revenge against you with a magical artifact," Applejack surmised.
Sunset pinched her nose. "Oh yeah."
Human Twilight handed her a paper. "If that's the case, here is your scripted apology," the magicless monkey version of her friend said with a proud smile. "I've even included the proper emotional responses."
"Including the part where she's like 'I ruined your life, so let me give you a new one?'" Rainbow asked.
"Yep."
"I love that part," Rarity gushed. "No matter how many times I hear it, it always brings me to tears."
"Don't worry Sunset," Applejack assured. "I'm sure you can solve this problem like you've solved everything else that's happened."
"You mean using friendship lasers that we've somehow gained without any training, study, or an ounce of effort whatsoever?"
"Of course," Pinkie Pie said. "I don't see anything wrong with that at all."
"You're right," Sunset said in a blissful tone. "Isn't getting everything you want the best?" All her friends nodded with smug smiles.
Sunset walked to the office. When she opened the door, she found Principal Luna looking at her with a grave frown.
"Principal Luna, what's-," the woman gestured wordlessly to the corner of the room. There were two people there.
One was a middle-aged man with greying orange hair, sun yellow skin, a large beer gut, and quite a bit of height. He wore a pink dress shirt, orange slacks, fancy brown dress shoes, and glasses. As soon as the man made eye contact with her, he glared at her furiously. Behind him was some girl whose face she couldn't make out, but whose skin and hair were eerily familiar.
Sunset was confused and frightened by the man's rage. "Is there a problem sir?"
"Why don't you tell me?" A female voice asked. The person stepped out from behind them man. She had a familiar-
Sunset's jaw dropped when she saw her own face looking back at her.
"Can you tell me what in the name of Tartarus this is about?" Sunset Shimmer asked with crossed arms and a suspicious glare.
Four Days Prior
Sunset Shimmer came home on her motorbike. While people dismissed her machine as some outdated contraption, she considered this to be her prized possession. It was sturdy, reliable, and easy for her to repair.
Since the weather was early fall, she felt comfortable wearing a pink tank top, orange sandals, and daisy dukes. As soon as the bike came to a halt, she took off her helmet, reached into her pocket, and struggled to find her keys.
"Did I forget my keys again?" Sunset asked herself with gritted teeth. Before she figurd that out, her father burst out of the house.
"What did you do?" Solar Wind asked with a frown. Sunset knew it was the "I know what you did, but I wanted to hear it from you" face. Accepting the inevitable, Sunset sighed and prepared her confession.
"Uh, I left the door open?" The man continued to glare at her.
"Uh, I changed my grade from C to B?" The glare didn't go away.
"I didn't take out the trash?" Sunset said nervously, walking up to the front door. Dad handed her some kind of bill.
"A motorcycle, an apartment, a cake from some place called 'Sugar Cube Corner', a guitar," Sunset read.
"All charged under your name," The pudgy man asked with a stern expression. Sunset felt her skin go pale when she realized what he was insinuating.
"Dad I didn't take out a credit card without your permission," Sunset pleaded. She showed the bill to him. "Do I look like I own any of this stuff."
"If you didn't, then someone did!" The man yelled. He took off his reading glasses to glare at his daughter. "Did you give your account number to some stranger again?"
"Dad, that phone deal sounded real legit," Sunset argued weakly.
"Pedophiles can sound legit when they're offering you free candy."
"DAD!" Sunset bellowed with disgust, angrily pushing past him to enter the house.
"Don't 'dad' me," the rotund man argued angrily. "This is serious. Someone out there stealing your identity, and if you don't get this resolved, this could damage your credit score." Sunset flinched. While she was only 15, she still had to be worried about that kind of thing if she needed student loans or wanting to lease an apartment. Realizing her father had a good reason to be annoyed, she turned toward him with a solemn expression.
"I promise you I didn't give my account information to some stranger," Sunset argued. The yellow-skinned man scrutinized her for a few moments before letting a sigh.
"Fine, I believe you," the man said in a softer tone. "I'll call the credit agency and take care of this. Go do your work." She turned away from him and marched toward the living room.
"And remember sweetie," the man called to her, "if a strange man offers you a ride-,"
"DAD SHUT UP!"
Sunset ignored her father's swipes, running to favorite table in the living room to do her homework. She pulled out her laptop from her book bag, logged on, and went to work. Suddenly, she got a call from Sugar Belle.
"Hey Sug," Sunset answered. "What's happening?"
"When did you join a band?"
Sunset cocked her head in confusion. "What?"
"There's this video of you, dancing with a bunch of girls that's going viral." Sunset looked at her father angrily arguing with a credit agency on the landline and felt a pit in her stomach grow.
"Is this a joke?" Sunset asked with narrowed eyes. "I'm not a band member. I haven't even played drums since I was ten years old."
"Then why is there this video of you dancing?" Sunset's jaw was set.
"What's the name of the video?"
"Crystal Rainbooms-Dance Magic." Sunset opened a WatchMe on a window, and entered the words into a search bar. She opened and...
She saw a video of...
Her blood went cold.
She saw herself dancing and singing in some video with a bunch of girls in fancy costumes. She was wearing a red and gold dress and golden gauntlets on her arms. She also had some really long hair extension, and what looked like horse ears coming out of the side of her head.
"Sunset," Sugar Belle asked. "Sunset." Sunset was so in shock, she didn't answer, the phone laying ignored on the table. When the video ended, she let out a horrified yell.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!"
