Fights among Dragons

A/N - There was actually a lot more to this one but a crash caused it to be lost. I will attempt to rewrite it at some point

"CRIMSON!" Spike roared as he leapt out the window in pursuit. She spun and buried her clawed foot into his gut, flicking her wings and driving him hard into the cobblestone below. She hopped away from him, allowing him to roll to his feet. He clutched his gut, scales forming over his skin.

"These humans have made you weak." She spat, weaving to the side as he swung. Spike followed the move with a flip, bringing his tail down hard but Crimson simply slid around it, her own tail flicking into his gut, smashing into the previous injury and sending him tumbling across the ground.

"They will betray you one day Spike. You cannot stay among them forever. You can face the truth now or deal with the harsh reality later,"

"Yea, you've sure shown I can trust you, haven't you?" he growled, his arms and legs shifting, tearing through his tux.

"You'll have to make these choices sooner or later little whelp," Crimson scoffed. Spike grit his teeth as he flexed his claws.

"You bitch..." he spat, wincing at the effort. Blood had caked over his left eye, sealing it shut. It hadn't been any use to him anyway.

"I'm not the true enemy here Spike. These people took you...!"

"THESE PEOPLE TOOK ME IN! THEY CARED FOR ME!" Spike roared. He stepped backwards as Crimson's tail lashed out, gouging the ground. Spike panted heavily, glaring at the more experienced dragon with his good eye.

"You are blinded by their false kindness. Perhaps you need some time to see their true colors. On that day you'll find me where you belong," She pointed a claw toward the horizon.

"I'll be waiting for that day little whelp. Maybe you can do your true family proud some day," she spat. Spike braced himself as she spread her wings wide and took off like a rocket, vanishing into the distance.

He surged forward and stumbled, gasping as his entire body ached and groaned in protest.

"SPIKE!" Morigan cried out his name. He just barely heard her, turning his gaze over his shoulder. Skylar supported her, moving as fast as his own wounds would allow.

"Y-You can't be out here!" he cried out to them. Skylar paid either no mind, taking each step until he stood before the injured dragon. He knelt down, letting Morigan lean into him. She had tears in her eyes as she placed her hands weakly on Spike's cheeks.

"My Spike...Thank the gods you're alive..." she whispered. Spike grit his teeth, glancing at the horizon for a moment before turning his gaze back to Morigan. Her wounds didn't seem too serious, but she had been thrown rather hard. He sank to his knees, letting her pull him in against her bosom.

"I couldn't stop her...I-I failed you..."

"You've failed no one Spike...I am so proud of you..." Morigan murmured, running her fingers gently through his hair. He looked up at her, finding her lips against his forehead, cracking a bit of dried blood. Though she didn't seem to care.
