He sighed and looked to the floor, seeing the trail of bone dust from the mystic mare still present, albeit now disrupted. No doubt from the breeze blowing in.
“...man. That really happened, huh?” He muttered before getting up from the bed and leaving his dirtied, ruffled sheets where they were. In truth, he was glad to know that in a way, he’d helped the Apple family matriarch find peace in her afterlife, even if she didn’t know it was him personally. He would be lucky to find such a mare in his own life, let alone earn her affections to make her his wife. But it was what it was, and he would carry on with his life. “I hope you’re at peace now, Pear Butter.”
A shuffling sound from the bedroom got his attention as he was dabbing at his face with a spare washcloth. Bringing it with him, Caramel came to a stop in the doorway when he took note of his surroundings. The messed bed was made and clean, not a trace of last night’s events being present. The bone dust on the floor had been scooped up and placed back in the spare jar he’d kept on a nearby table, the lid closed tight. It seemed to be missing a little though, which he soon discovered was still on the floor but in the shape of a small heart by the bed. “...Pear?”
His only answer was a soft giggle in his ear, and the tingle on the back of his neck like a soft hand crossing over it.
