Making her way towards the hospital bed, the amber earth pony looked over to see that the blankets were unkemptly laid across the changeling like a clump of cloth. "Now how did this..." Seeing the mess of fabric carelessly strewn about, she arrived at the foot of the bed as she pulled both blankets into a neat position sighing contently.
"There we go, that would've k-" She held her tongue cringing at what she was about to say. Looking down at her, the doctor sighed. "Please wake up, I... I wouldn't know how he'll live with himself if you never do. He's... He's in a lot of pain right now and..." She facehoofs in realization. "He doesn't even know you're even alive! What am I..." she growled, "What am I just doing standing around here for, he should know about this shouldn't he?"
"Mmm... five more minutes..." Her eyes widened at the sudden voice as she turned her head towards the changeling. 'I... I...' She hummed again contently, "Thank you..."
She stood there speechless, whether or not she should do something to wake her. Just as she was making her decision however, a clattering of hoofsteps ran past the room as several ponies cried in alarm. "Somepony catch her, don't let her run away!" Several Barks had soon followed as they reverberated around the room before dissipating.
'Ugh, don't tell me she's-' Her thought was interrupted however as the Changeling rose from her bed.
(Oscar's View)
As I went to open my eyes, a searing pain shot through my head quickly shutting them as I groaned. "Agh, what was-" Closing my mouth to think, the sensation erupted once more as I cried in alarm. "AGH! M-my head..."
Just then, I heard a feminine voice call out to me as I held my trobbing head. "O-oh my goodness, are you-" She halted before quickly responding, "Nevermind, just tell me what's wrong!"
"M-my head... My head feels like- AGH!" My head felt like it was going to burst as I heard her call out.
"I-I'll get you some medicine! B-be back soon." Listening to what sounded like coconuts being clattered together, I heard a door swing open as the sound faded off.
"W-Wait!" But she was already out of range by the time I 'spoke', sighing I tried speaking again only to hear the same unfamiliar voice. "Testing, Test-." I cringed. 'W-what ha-' My thought was cut off however as it felt like my brain was being shirked with several sharp needles. "AAAAAHHHHH!!!"
Sprawling my body across the soft surface, the clattering sound had returned as I heard the door swing open her voice calling out. "O-oh my goodness, h-here! Take this." I felt something shove a pill into my mouth as she responded, "It was the only thing I could find on such short notice, it's Aspirin so I don't know how well this will work but-"
Quickly swallowing the pill whole, I felt my headache go down from intense pain to moderate discomfort. As I tried opening my eyes once again, I felt something touch my face as it held them closed tight. "Try not to open your eyes, I don't want you overexerting yourself again. Okay?"
Attempting to assert myself, I caught a sweet smelling scent enter my nostrils as I sniffed it curiously. This held on for a minute or so until she spoke up again, "Um, Hello? Is everything alright, deary?" The smell faded as another interesting aroma entered my nose, sniffing it intently.
"D-don't you smell that?"
She sounded befuddled as she replied, "Smell what? I don't smell anything."
I sniffed it again trying to make it out, humming silently. "It smells like... nectar?"
The smell continued its potent growth as the woman voiced her confusion. "N-nectar?"
"Y-yeah, Its pretty strong." I gagged, catching a disgustingly faint scent. "And Vinegar too, bleugh. Gross..." Just as I finished my statement however, the smell faded out as it was replaced by... Oranges?
"Oh, Oh my... I-If there's anything I can do to- Hmm..." She pondered her thoughts for a moment before slapping herself. "Oh, I should've known something like this happened to you..." The zesty aroma had been quickly replaced by the smell of wet grass as she sobbed precariously. "I-If only we'd heard about this sooner we..."
The woman continued crying before I retorted. "H-hey, I may not know what's going on but... W-Whatever it is, I doubt it's your fault. You did the best you could, right?" 'What the hell is even going on?'
"Y-you really think so?" She asked with a sorrowful voice.
"Of course, you need to have a little faith. 'I wouldn't say this if I thought otherwise.' "Don't sell yourself short, you can do anything if you put your mind to it."
Hearing her sniffling, a sudden weight fell upon my back embracing me into a tight hug as my eyes burst open. "T-thank you, you have no idea how happy I am to hear that." Looking around the immediate area, I knew I was in a hospital room as the lady in question released me from her hug as I spotted her. "Thank you, you've really made this mare's day."
Registering what I was witnessing, after a few seconds I blacked out.
