Author's Note

First person Cozy Glow P.O.V. Chapter...you know the drill by now. Takes place right after Episode 20

Season 1, Episode 21: Cozy Cousins

Chrystalis and Amelia came back shortly after me and Chrysalis agreed to let Chrystalis know about my relationship with her.

"Amelia, why don't you be a dear and make sure Luster Dawn is doing okay." Chrysalis said.

"Uh...okay sure." Amelia said before leaving. Chrysalis made sure the doors were closed and locked once more.

"Something up mother?" Chrystalis asked. "What'd you and Cozy Glow talk about?" She inquired.

"I told her about my heritage. It actually involves you too." I said.

"Oh? That's interesting." Chrystalis said.

"Chrystalis...believe or not...I'm biologically half-changeling." I said. Chrystalis's eyes went wide. "...Which essentially makes me your cousin." I added.

"That's...whoa..." Chrystalis said. "That's sudden..." She said. "How do you know?" Chrystalis asked.

"I met my biological father the other day. He's currently disguised as a realtor pony for my mother's house. I went to look at the house I was born in when he found me inside." I said. "Once I revealed to him the previous owner of the house was my mother, he revealed onto me his true identity and my heritage." I added.

"I'm going to guess you told Princess Twilight and that's why you got picked for this." Chrystalis said.

"Actually, I didn't tell Twilight anything." I said. "But I wouldn't put it past her to find out somehow. This is the current ruler of Equestria we're talking about after all." I added with a giggle. Both changelings laughed.

"That does sound like good old Princess Twilight." Chrysalis said. I slammed a hoof on the map.

"Twilight isn't that old yet!" I pratically yelled.

"...It was a figure of speech Cozy Glow...calm down..." Chrysalis said. I blinked.

"Oh...right...sorry." I said. Suddenly my eyes went wide. "...I really just got upset over thinking you were calling Twilight old didn't I?" I asked for clarification. Both changelings chuckled.

"Your forgiven." Chrysalis said.

"That's not my point. For some reason when I thought you were calling Twilight old I just...I just lost it a bit..." I said.

"And that's a problem how?" Chrystalis said.

"Because I've never felt this way about someone before...anyone at all for that matter." I admitted.

"Niece of mine...it seems that in your heart, you've already accepted the princess as your friend." Chrysalis said. "That is literally the only explanation." She said. My eyes went wide again.

"Oh my god your right...I do..." I said. I have barely noticed how calling Princess Twilight just Twilight felt so normal to me now. And now here I was defending her. "Is this...what friendship truely is? Is friendship really more about standing up for those you care about willing to defend them even against family?" I asked.

"Aren't you pen pals with Luster? She could've told you that easy." Chrystalis said.

"Maybe but..." I looked over to the changelings. "I don't think she's learnt about this kind of friendship lesson yet." I said. "Heh...that'd make a good report..." I said with a smile.

"Seems someone is really getting into seeing Friendship Twilight's way." Chrysalis said.

"In some ways yeah. Don't get me wrong, I still see friendship as a tool of power but...I've been thinking that that's only half the equation." I admitted. "...I've been having thoughts that friendship is powerful magic of some kind. Not exactly sure what kind of powerful magic I'm referring to, but with some help from this necklace, I think I can put the pieces together on my own." I explained.

"So your still not one hundred percent reformed them..." Chrysalis said.

"Well I'm not going to try and take over Equestria again if that's what your thinking." I countered. "I'm done trying to rule the world; I just wanna be myself, be a young kid out exploring the world. Like I always wanted to be." I said before looking at my cutie mark. "...That's all I've ever really wanted..." I added.
