Author's Note

This is a Cozy Glow chapter, which means it's going to be a first person Cozy Glow P.O.V. the entire chapter. Takes place a few days after Chrysalis's reformation.

Season 1, Episode 20: Cozy Diplomacy

"YOU WANT ME TO WHAT?!" I exclaimed, a bit panicky. A few of my friends were there with me as I was summoned by Princess Twilight herself.

"I would love for you to act as an overseer of Chrysalis and her daughter while they stay in Ponyville; Luster Dawn has already told you all the details right? I know you and her are pen pals, writing letters back and forth." Princess Twilight said.

"But...me?" I asked. "Out of all of the individuals you could send, your picking me?" I was so confused.

"In all fairness, Princess..." Tempest Shadow Spoke up. "Don't you think we should send somebody else? I'm sure one of the royal guards or..." She was silenced when Princess Twilight raised a single hoof.

"I understand your concerns; both of yours, really..." Princess Twilight said. "But trust me Cozy Glow...I think this is the kind of experience you need to understand the good of yourself all the better. Besides, I think your ready for something like this." She said. I couldn't help but find tears in my eyes from that.

"I'll...I'll do my best then, your highness..." I said, finding it hard to fight back the tears. Princess Twilight smiled.

"Your best is all that I ask for in the first place. And please, just call me Twilight." Princess Twilight said. My eyes went wide.

"P-princess...I mean T-twilight...I mean..." I was stumbling over my words.

"Your chariot leaves in thirty minutes." Twilight said. I nodded and starting flying out of the room.

"Thank you..." I couldn't help but say as I was leaving.

My chariot arrived in Ponyville thirty minutes later. Heading into the Castle of Friendship; which is where Chrysalis and her daughter Chrystalis are staying; I first found myself greated by Luster Dawn.

"Cozy Glow!" Luster Dawn said to me before we did one hoof bump followed by another one and then hugged one another. "It's so nice to see you." She said.

"It's good to see you to. How's things with your other friends?" I asked.

"Same as usual...we hang out, do some things here and there around town...nothing really I haven't already written to you about in our letters." Luster Dawn said. I couldn't help but giggle at that.

"As for me, I've been making more and more friends. Seems even the Princess has taken notice." I said.

"So I've heard; your going to be here overseeing Chrysalis and Chrystalis's stay as they search for somewhere to make a new hive at." Luster said.

"So, the former changeling tyrant really is good now?" I asked.

"You bet!" Luster said.

"Then...I would like some time alone with her..." Cozy Glow said.

"Whatever you need. I'll get Amelia to keep Chrystalis occupied." Luster said as we reached the Map room where mother and daughter were enjoying time with some animals from the animal sanctuary with Amelia nearby. "Hey Amelia...could you and Chrystalis go play somewhere else in the castle? Cozy Glow wants a few minutes with Chrysalis alone." Luster said.

"Sure thing. C'mon Chrystalis!" Amelia said before scurring off with Chrystalis and the animals in tow and then Luster left to give us the room.

"Hello Cozy Glow. I see you've been doing well." Chrysalis said. "But I must ask, why ask to speak with me alone?" She asked.

"Because of my heritage..." I paused and made sure to lock all the doors. "...Auntie Chrysalis." I said. This comment took Chrysalis by surprise.

"Auntie? What are you talking about?" Chrysalis said.

"Chrysalis...it's about my father. I found him." I added before taking a seat. "And I found out exactly what I am..." I noted.

"So...what does your father have to do with me?" Chrysalis said as she too took a seat.

"Chrysalis...this is not easy to say, and you most likely won't believe me..." I stated. "...But the truth of the matter is, I'm biologically half-changeling. Seems one of your old drones from who knows how long ago met a mare here in Ponyville, fell in love, and together they had a child." I explained. "And that child was me. Which biologically makes me your niece." I added. Chrysalis looked like she was about to faint.

"That's...a lot to take in...do you know where he lives?" Chrysalis asked.

"Not exactly, but I know he's currently disguised himself as a pony realtor for my mom's house." I said. "I only ask that you don't punish him too harshly." I added.

"I wasn't planning on it. I just want to know how long he's been here." Chrysalis said.

"That's not something I asked him a few weeks ago. I might come with you to hear the answer myself." I said. Chrysalis nodded.

"So...do you think anyone else knows?" Chrysalis asked me.

"As far as I know? No one but you and my most trusted friends now. Luster is amongst those." I said. "...I think it's time we let your daughter back in here with us. Give her the realization too. she deserves to know too." I said. Chrysalis nodded.

"I think she'll be happy to meet her cousin." Chrysalis said. "And, allow me to officially say: Welcome to the family, Cozy Glow." Chrysalis said with a smile. I smiled back.

All in all...I think maybe Twilight secretly found out about my heritage somehow. Am I complaining? No. Am I mad? Maybe a little. But if there's one thing I do know: Friends forgive each other. And if Twilight letting me call her Twilight is any indication, she considers me her friend too.

...I didn't even notice my necklace was glowing during both meetings because everything was moving so fast.
