My Little Pony: Dawn of Friendship
Season 2, Episode 6: Sunset at Dawn
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSunset was moving through the castle of Friendship; her new place of residence; we she found Luster Dawn in the castle Library.
"Oh hey Auntie Sunset." Luster Dawn said.
"Luster please...I may be your mother's friend, but I'm practically the same age as you." Sunset said, chuckling before going over to Luster.
"Yeah about that. Mother and Father were both surprised to see that your pony body hasn't grown as old as theirs even though your clearly as old as they are." Luster said. "So I've done some digging over the past few days, and I think I've come to a theory." She added.
"What's your theory?" Sunset asked.
"That the human world has a different concept of time then ours. You've spent like what? Several years in the human world? And yet here you are, fully ponified again and your pony body has barely aged more then a year; give or take a couple of months." Luster Dawn said. "Yet when you look at Twilight's friends, my mom, or heck, just about anyone, and compare how they look now to when they were a few years ago, this leads me to believe that one month passing in the human world, is like a week passing in our world." Luster Dawn said. "So I think...that you've accidently caused yourself to live longer then you would have otherwise had you chosen to stay in one world over the other." She added.
"...No wonder your Twilight's own personal protégée." Sunset said with a smile sitting beside Luster Dawn. "You two are quite a lot alike, you know that?" She asked.
"I am?" Luster Dawn asked.
"I think that's why she picked you out of so many others. She saw the same signs about how you were struggling to make friends like she was. I think that's why she already had a plan in place by the time you approached her about friendship. She sent you to Ponyville to learn friendship just like Celestia did for her. And I think you'll do fine in that department." Sunset asked. "After all, you remind me so much of her. And I know two versions of her." Sunset smiled.
"The other Twilight's not a princess though right?" Luster asked.
"Nope. When me, her, and that world's rainbow dash came here during a certain boat incident, and that world's Twilight turned into a unicorn. Then again, the Twilight from this world was originally a unicorn before she became an Alicorn." Sunset said. "And I think if you do enough good in the world, you too could become an Alicorn." She added.
"I'm not really looking to join royalty here." Luster Said. "I'm fine with being a Unicorn my entire life." She said.
"Becoming an Alicorn means more then becoming Royalty, Luster; it makes you a leader, a symbol; something for others to look up to." Sunset explained.
"That...actually sounds nice. But I wouldn't mind if I never became an Alicorn." Luster said.
"Fair enough. Everyone has their own end goals. So Luster, what's your ultimate ambition? What do you want to leave as your mark on the world?" Sunset asked.
"I want to to become the world's ultimate mage!" Luster Dawn said.
"Pretty big ambitions...at least your learning about friendship along the way. Who knows? Maybe by becoming a high mage of some kind, you'll unlock your own Faux Alicorn state." Sunset said, smiling.
"Yeah...I wouldn't mind that." Luster said, smiling back.
