Late one night in the Crystal Empire, the newly-appointed Royal Advisor for Princess Twilight Sparkle is tasked with an important mission. Spike was more than willing to help out, especially when he was given an urgent letter by Princess Cadance in secret. It seems that her husband -- AKA, Spike's brother, Shining Armor -- might have been indulging in some... inappropriate activities after hours. And to make matters worse, the source of Cadance's suspicions came from a rather unexpected source: The recently-revived, and heavily guarded Ex-Tyrant of the Crystal Empire, Sombra.

Now, Spike might have gartered a reputation across Equestria and beyond for his 'friendly' association with stallions, but Sombra was definitely not one of them. Of course, considering how he helped defeat the villain twice (and was also brainwashed by him before his most recent downfall), there was definitely a lot of tension between the two. But in an attempt to get to the bottom of things, and to prove Cadance's worries regarding her husband, the two have to work together to discover the truth of Shining Armor's secret happenings.

Unfortunately (or perhaps, very fortunately), what the two find is much more revealing than either of them would've expected~
