The Real Reason Princess Luna Was Banished to the Moon

“Luna, it's time for bed!”
Princess Luna looked up from her toys and rolled her eyes. “No it’s not!”
“Yes it is!”
“Nuh-uh”
“Uh-huh”
“Nuh-uh”
“Uh-huh”
Princesses Luna and Celestia continued this way for a couple more minutes. Then Luna exclaimed: “Just cause you’re older than me doesn’t make you my boss!”
“Yes it does. And mom and dad said that I was in charge while they are away.”
“So?”
“So that means that when I say you have to go to bed you have to go to bed.”
“No it doesn’t. Mom and dad said my bedtime wasn’t until sunrise! And its only 10!”
“Well I’m in charge so I say you have to go to bed now!”
“No. I’m not gonna.”
“You have to! I said so!”
“So?”
“I’m in charge! You have to do what I say!”
“I’m the Princess of the Night! I’ve been sleeping ALL day! I only woke up, like, three hours ago! I’m not tired.”
“No I’m not! You don’t know that!”
“Yes you are! Yes I do!”
“Since when did you know everything?”
“Since mom put me in charge!”
“That doesn’t make any sense!” Luna exclaimed indignantly. She finally got up from her game and looked her sister straight in the eye.
Or, rather, she tried to. Celestia was a few inches taller than Luna so she ended up glaring upwards. “You think you’re so cool cause mom made you in charge. Well, you’re not! You are just being a big meanie! I can stay up cause its my turn to stay up and theres no reason for you to make me go to sleep and you need to go to sleep night is my time and not your time and I intend to do with it what I want and you can’t tell me no cause its night and its my turn so there!” Luna inhaled deeply, having expended all of her breath on that one sentence.
“Fine, if you wanna stay up all night, you can. ON THE MOON.”
Princess Luna laughed. “You can’t do that.”
“Yes I can!”
“Thats stupid! You can’t do anything to me, I’m almost as powerful as you!”
“Yeah, well, I’m older! So you have to listen to me!”
“No I don’t! Its not like you can do anything to me anyways!”
“Yes I can. I can go get the elements of harmony.”
“You wouldn’t.”
“I will if you don’t go to bed now.”
“No.”
“Fine I’m gonna.”
“If you do mom and dad will just bring me back down and then you’ll be in trouble!”
“No they won’t.”
“Yes they will!”
“Fine. I’m going to go get the elements.”
Princess Celestia stalked out of the room in a fury. Luna rolled her eyes and went back to playing. After a few minutes, Celestia came back into the room with the elements of harmony.
“I have the elements. Will you go to bed now?”
“No. You can’t make me.”
“Fine. Then... I BANISH YOU TO THE MOON! FOREVER!”
Luna simply laughed as the whirlwind of blue smoke spirited her away.
“You are in SOOOO much trouble when mom and dad get home!” She called as she vanished from the room.
A few days later Celestia’s parents did return. That night, at sunset, Celestia both lowered the sun and rose the moon. Confused as to why she was doing her sister’s duty, Celestia’s parents asked: “Celestia, why are you doing Luna’s job? And where is our youngest daughter?”
“Well, you see, about that...”
Celestia wanted to stay out of trouble so she began to weave a tale that blew events way out of proportion. Celestia wove a tale of jealousy and stubbornness, a tale that today is known as the Legend of the Mare in the Moon.
Totally randomness comes after this. You have been warned.
Twilight Sparkle woke up, looking around.
"Spike! Today's election day!"
"Twilight, nobody cares. Go back to bed."
"But Spiiiiikkkeeee. Fine."
Twilight sauntered off to Rarity's, magically skipping thought the space-time continuum until it was midday. Suddenly, she was transported to Sugarcube Corner, where she had already completed part of a meal with Rarity, who was wearing a silly hat with a big blue feather.
"Rarity, today's election day, not silly hat day! Take that off!"
"Buuuutt Twilight, its so fabulous!"
"No its not, it looks dumb. Take it off."
Rarity curled her lower lip in a pout, but since she was a grown-up mare it didn't work on Twilight.
"Anyways, as I was saying, I was talking with Spike earlier today..."
"Twilight, stop talking nonsense. Everypony knows that dragons and ponies don't share a language and thus can't communicate. Their tongues and throats are too different."
"No really! I was talking to him! He said nopony cares about election day!"
"Well, even if he can't talk, he has a point. Nopony cares about election day anyways. We all know Obama will get re-elected."
Author's Note
This is all random crap that came to me in a dream a long while ago. I don't really know the point, or why my brain decided to come up with this crap, but yep. Pretty much.

But seriously, this was like what happened in a short dream last November. The election day was past by then, though, so its not like Rarity was being prophetic...
The Mane 6 get ready to play TF2: PVM (MVM)
Rainbow Dash stared at the computer impatiently as Team Fortress 2 slowly started up. She was already on the group Skype voice call with the rest of her friends, but she refrained from saying anything. As soon as the game had loaded, she got a message from Twilight.
*Magic has invited you to join a PVM party.
*Honesty, Loyalty, and Laughter have joined the party
*Kindness has joined the party
Twilight started the search for games.
*Magic: Where in the hell is Rarity?
*Generosity has joined the party.
*Loyalty: Dibs on Scout!
The game loaded, dumping the six into an empty server. They all groaned.
“Coaltown? Really?”
“I haven’t defeated this map yet!” Twilight replied.
The ponies started choosing their loadouts. Rainbow Dash went for the scout, equipping him with the Force-a-Nature, Mad Milk, and the Sandman.
“Dibs on medic!” Twilight called. She gave her medic the Crusader's Crossbow, the Quickfix, and the standard Bone Saw.
“Oh ok. I guess you can be medic, if you want... I’ll just choose... Heavy? Is that ok with everypony?”
“Cool with us Fluttershy!”
“Ok.. Thanks guys!” Fluttershy immediately started going over the heavy’s armoury. “Hmm... Gloves of Fighting, Natascha, and... Reserve shooter?”
“Haha! I got to the Sniper first!”
“Aww, I wanted the sniper Rarity!”
“Too bad!”
Rarity briefly considered equipping Jarate then decided not to. “How... Uncivilized...” She loaded up with the Bazaar Bargain, the Cleaner’s Carbine and the Bushwacker.
“Ooo! Ooo! I want the pyro! I’m gonna use the rainblower and pyro vision and the candy lollipop thing and its gonna be so fun and those robots are gonna have a party when they die!”
“Cool story Pinkie.”
“Ah want tha Engineer, if thats ok with y’all”
“No prob AJ! No one is as good at you with him anyways!” Applejack went with the Jag, the Wrangler, the Frontier Justice, and the rest of the standard load out.
“Is everpony ready?”
“One second y’all, I gotta get this sentry in just the right spot. Ok, lets go!”
