He turned around and looked at one of the guards. “Excuse me Sir.” Dev said with a polite voice. “Yes? What can I do for you today?” The guard was an older Pegasus stallion. He had dark brown fur, green eyes, a cut wing, and a long grey mane. He also had a nasty scar above his left eye. “I was attending the Gala last night, and I saw the most beautiful mare ever.” Devin replied with a little blush. The guard looked at him with a long smile. “Oh did ya know?” His gruff mature voice had a little bit of playfulness in it, as he smiled at the bat. “Yeah, she was a royal guard as well, so I was wondering if you know who is in the Lunar Guard.” “Sorry kid, I don’t know who is in the Lunar Guard.” He replied. “But you could wait until night, and ask the Night Guards while they are on duty.” It was dusk in 3 hours, so he had that much time to kill. He started to make his way into Canterlot. But before he did, he thanked the stallion for his help.

To his dismay, she wasn’t the mare he had hoped she would be. He decided to approach her. “Hello Ma’am.” Devin greeted her respectfully. “Evening.” was all she said. She was a batpony. She had dark blue fur, and a coal black mane. “I was wondering if you could help me find someone.” “Who are you looking for?” She said, not really caring. “Well she’s in the Lunar Guard. She’s an older mare. Has grey fur and a blue mane.” he described. “She is beautiful.” The thestral Guard thought for a moment. “Oh that would be Gotha.” she replied. “She comes from a long line of Lunar Guards. Why do you care?” She said through a grumble? She spotted his flowers. “Wanna sleep with her?” She finished, with a mean grin. Devin ignored that question. “Thank you for the help.” he replied politely, even though he wanted to say something back to her, but he kept his cool. “Whatever.” She retorted, as he walked away.

He was getting a bit tired, so he started to make his way back. That’s when he saw her... She was laying on a rooftop staring at the moon, all alone. Dev looked at her, and then at the flowers. “This is my chance.” He thought to himself. He flew up to the roof to where she was. “Hello Gotha.” Devin said in a friendly voice. Gotha turned around to see him flying up beside her. “Hello.” She replied. A bit surprised. “Who are you?” “Well, I was attending the Gala.” Devin began “And I saw you, and I just wanted to say, you are so beautiful.” He finished, while showing her the beautiful Night flowers. Gotha looked at the flowers, and began to smile. “We- well thank you so much.” She replied a bit flustered. “No one has said that in a long time.” Blushing, she took the flowers. He was attending the Grand Galloping Gala one night. He had got an invitation from a friend, and he decided to attend. So he got dressed all nicely in his black tuxedo, and headed to Canterlot. The party started off and they all had a blast. He had a chance to meet the Princesses, and try lots of different food and beverages. She had dark grey fur and a dark blue mane. Her face was that of an angel. She was an older mare as well. Devin guessed she was in her early 40s. Not that he minded. he liked the older mares. She was a lunar guard as well (he could tell by her armour) Devin was blushing at her, admiring her looks and beauty, but she didn’t see him because she was a distance away. “Go on Dev, talk to her.” His friend Haze Northfleet said with a little smirk. Haze was his friend. They met on a mining base that he worked on a while ago. And they have been good friends ever since. “I don’t know Haze.” Devin said with a bit of nervousness in his voice The light blue Pegasus mare looked at him. “You can do it Dev. She is alone, so she might be single.” she said encouragingly, with a little wink. Dev smiled at that, while boosted his confidence. “Ok I will. Wish me luck. “I will.” Haze replied with a friendly smile. Dev walked over to were he saw her, but to his surprise, she was gone... Dev looked around trying to find her, but during the time he was talking to Haze, she had seemingly left the party. Dev sadly made his way to the bar table. He looked at his options, and he decided to get some Mango flavoured alcohol. He sat by himself, upset he couldn’t make a move on that beautiful mare he saw. After the party ended, he flew with Haze to her place. “Thanks for flying me home Dev.” Haze said to him as they landed at the door. “You’re welcome Haze.” He replied, with a fake smile. “hey Dev, I know it didn’t work out tonight, but you will probably see her again.” “Yeah I know.” he replied. “Have a good night Haze.” “You as well Dev.” Haze said, as she went inside. The flowersView OnlineFlowers for GothaThe flowersDevin was walking through the maze that was Canterlot. He wasn’t sure what he was going to say to the Night Guards. He still had a few hours until their shift started, so he decided to look at the shops for a while. He wanted to get that pretty mare something nice as a gift, but he didn’t know what to get her. After a bit of walking, he came across a flower store. There was a big sign that read: ‘Roseluck’s boutique’ He knew flowers were romantic, and made a good gift, so he went inside the store. “Hi, can I help you?” A very feminine voice was heard, as a pretty mare emerged from the back door. “Hi there, I’m Devin, and I’m in need of some flowers.” “Ah. Well I’m Roseluck, and that’s my specialty.” she replied happily. “So who are you shopping for?” She asked. Dev blushed for a second. “There is this beautiful mare that I like.” He started. “I want to get her something special.” Was all he said. Roseluck smiled at him. “Well there is something special that I have.” She replied cheerily, as she lead him to the flowers, pointing at them. “These are called Wild Night flowers.” She presented the flowers, holding them up for him to see up close. They were a shade of purple, and looked so beautiful. They were very exotic as well. Roseluck told him that they come from Baltimare only 5 times every year. Devin decided to buy them. He payed 50 bits for the whole bundle. “Have a nice day Devin.” Roseluck said, while counting the bits. “Hope you’re special somepony loves them.” she finished, handing him the bundle. Dev smiled at her “Thank you Roseluck.” Dev replied with a happy smile. And with that, he left the shop.
