Two Weeks Later
I hummed as I typed on the computer in my office. An email dinged and I clicked on the icon. I smiled when I saw the list of names Sunset had sent me. It was the full set of names for the leaders of the territory next to us. I leaned back into the chair as I read over the names. ‘Amazing how much information is at our fingertips in this age. I can’t believe Sunset can use social media to track these people down. And Windy and Bow getting locations for hideouts and drug suppliers. If only we had this back in my dad’s day. He’d shit himself for info like this.’
I laughed at that thought before getting back to work. ‘Well, it’s too late to think about it.’ I started to write a mass email. As I typed a text came in. I took my phone then clicked on it and saw it was from Harshwhinny.
‘Hello Jr, I’m sorry to bother you but do you think you can come and pick me up? I’m at the grocery store if you can?’
I smiled as I replied that I would be happy to pick her up and sent it before I stood up. I grabbed my coat off my coat rack and threw it over my shoulder. I opened my door and walked out to see the guys planning attacks, and I could see them packaging products for shipping. I smiled and nodded before I walked over and knocked on Sunset’s door. A minute passed before she unlocked the door. I opened the door and I smiled down at her. Sunset smiled as she stood to the side.
“Come in Jr, I just found something I think you’ll like.”
I nodded and walked into the office. She closed and locked her door again before she walked over and sat in her chair. She turned the screen and let me see a site called ponybook. I saw a man surrounded by women with a large knife in hand.
“This is Brute, the leader of the area we’re looking at as our next target. From what Windy dug up we know he likes to go to the same bar every Friday night with his brother and whatever woman he’s doing at the time.”
I nodded as I burned his face into my mind. He looked like he wouldn’t be too hard to deal with. “Well, I guess I will get to use that new rifle of mine in a few days. Oh, and come on. I need to take you home. I’m going to pick Harshwinny up in an hour at the grocery store.” She nodded and stood up, and grabbed a red purse. She locked her computer and walked behind me. I unlocked the door, then held the open door for her. She walked out, and I closed the door and she used her key to lock the door.
“Miss Sunset.”
We looked back at one of the women that stayed, and Sunset smiled as she looked at her.
“Yes Misty?”
She smiled as she pulled some papers off a stack she had pressed to her larger chest. I couldn’t help but look for a second, and they were nearly as big as Harshwinny.
“Jr your eye.”
I blushed and looked away, making the girl laugh a little. I could feel the glare from Sunset burning me. “Sorry I’m a guy.” The girl laughed more before she spoke up.
“It’s fine, Miss Sunset. At least he doesn’t just grab them like a lot of the men used to.”
I looked back at her face, and she smiled as she slightly nodded back to the men. I looked back out and saw a few quickly look away. I nodded as I walked over to a cabinet and opened it, and pulled out a nine-millimeter. I checked it, and it had a full clip which made me happy. I put the clip back in the walked over and held it out to her. “Next time someone tries that, give them a hit with this.” She laughed, then took it from me and slipped it into the corner of her belt.
“Thanks boss.”
I nodded, and we started to walk Sunset, reading the papers. Once she finished reading it, she held it out to me a minute later. I took them and saw it was Chrysalis's handwriting. “So she’s having some trouble with the gang to the south, the Never Dies? That’s one hell of a weird name.’ I sighed, then folded it up and slipped it into my pocket. We walked out into the parking lot and over to my car. We got in, and she sprayed some perfume as I got in. I waved the air since it was a little strong.
“Sorry, I don’t like to stink.”
I nodded and rolled my window down, and she did the same. I pulled out of the spot, and I got onto the road. Sunset played on her phone as I drove, and I watched the road. It was a light traffic day, and I was getting all green light.
“Say, Jr can I ask you something?”
I looked at her real quick, then back to the road. “Sure, what do you need?” She was quiet for a minute then spoke.
“Well, can I ask what kind of girl’s do you like?”
I was a little caught off guard, not ready for something like that. I opened and closed my mouth a few times, not sure what to say. “Well, damn. That is a hell of a question Sunset. What brought this up?” She looked down at her b cup breast, and I understood. “Sunset, I don’t really have a type. If I think she’s a good person then I’d be happy to give it a try.” She seemed a little annoyed by my answer if the huff meant anything.
“Okay, let me ask another question.”
“Okay.”
“Do you like girls with bodies like mine or that girl you were staring at?”
My throat became dry as I tried to find words. A few seconds passed before I got my words out. “Damn Sunset, that's a hell of a loaded question.”
“That’s not an answer.”
I laughed a little and knew lying was only going to drag this out. “Ya, not going to lie. Like most guys, I do like to see the big ones but it’s not the biggest thing to me. Really what I like is a nice ass if you want to keep pushing me like you are.” My tone was sharp, and I think the point was made for a second until she snapped back.
“Well, excuse me! I thought maybe you weren’t that shallow!”
“Shallow!? Who the hell are you calling shallow!? Ask any guy if they don’t look!”
Sunset looked pissed and put her phone in her purse, and unlocked the door. I knew where this was going, and I knew fighting with her was a losing battle. “We’re almost to the apartments so just hold on before you jump out at the first red light. Neither of us want that much attention on us and we both know what this area was used for in the past. What if someone you know is nearby?” She stopped, and I could see she was thinking about what I was saying. She sighed and locked the door back as I pulled to a stop at the first red light to catch us. And Funny enough, we stopped right on the street. Sombra used to have his girls work. The realization of how it would have looked if she had gotten out when we stopped like she was planning.
“Asshole.”
I huffed and pulled off, not saying anything. “I may be an asshole, but I’m always fair with everyone.” She crossed her arms with her fist balled around the purse strap. I nodded as I headed down the street, heading straight for the apartments. After a few more minutes, I pulled into the parking lot, and once I was stopped, she got up then slammed my door. Not wanting to fight, I pulled back then drove out of the parking lot as she stormed up the steps to her apartment. Again, I nodded, then pulled out my phone and started to dial Chrysalis’s number. After a minute, I hit the call button, and after a few rings, she picked up.
“Hey Jr, what’s up?”
“Well, I’m giving you a heads up that we’ll be hitting the never dies soon. I wanted to warn you so none of your people get caught in the crossfire.”
“Thanks, oh and I need you to come by the hotel.”
“Is everything okay?”
“Well, I have a few of the girls Sombra had just got and was about to force into prostitution and they say they got something they think you should know.”
“Okay? Well, I’ve got plans so I’ll be over later tonight. Give me a call if anything comes up with those girls in the meantime.”
“Sure Jr.”
She hung up, and I locked my phone then set it down in the passenger seat. I hummed as I drove.
“Well you seem like you’ve taken to this age well.”
I jumped as I looked in the rearview mirror. I saw the man sitting there, fingers interlocked and his right leg resting on his knee. I relaxed a minute later as I looked back at the road.
“I guess I scared you. Sorry Leonardo.”
I sighed as I felt my heartbeat slowing down. “Yeah, a hell of a scare. What’s up? You have a job you want me to do?” He smiled as he looked at me.
“Those girls you're going to meet have lied. They are sirens but have lost their power.”
He held up three spiked chokers with red gems in the center of them.
“These will give them back their powers and will make it so they will always subconsciously think of how to help you in the long run. But beyond that they will have free will.”
“What do you get out of this?”
He smiled as he held them out.
“Chaos. I get chaos.”
I slowly nodded, then reached around and grabbed the chokers.
“Oh, and this may help when you find that girl you want to spend your life with.”
He pulled out two small black boxes. I set the chokers in the seat, then reached back out as I turned the corner and started to head down the street to the store. I took them then as I looked at the road then stopped at a red light. I turned, wanting to ask him something, but he was gone. I blinked and nodded my head before I turned back around. I nodded, not sure what to think of that man, but it worried me that I didn’t know how he got in the car. ‘Something to deal with later.’ I turned into the parking lot of the grocery store. I pulled into a spot near the front door and grabbed my phone, then checked the time. I saw I was thirty minutes early and sighed then remembered I didn’t have much left in the way of food. I looked back at the building and sighed before getting out and checking to see how much cash I had. I had two hundred in my twenties and a hundred dollar bill. I closed my wallet and walked to the door. The door opened, and I walked into the store then grabbed a shopping cart. I leaned onto it as I started to walk around the shelves. I grabbed bread, sam, and frozen meals. I turned the corner and hit a cart head-on. “I’m sorry.” I looked up to see Harshwinny, and I stopped to see she was in a pair of black jeans with a white belt on with a white, pink shirt tucked into her pants. Her top was slightly open, and she had her hair down. “Damn.” She laughed and moved her hair out of her face as she looked at me.
“Thank you.”
I laughed and nodded as I pulled my cart back. “Yeah, I was out driving when you sent me that email. So I figured I’d get my shopping done while I was here.”
“That makes sense. You're already here so why not go ahead and get it done.”
I nodded, and we went our ways to finish getting everything.
“Jr?”
I looked behind me and saw Chrysalis in jeans with a black t-shirt on. She had just the lipstick on with a blue eye shadow. “Hey Chrysalis.” She smiled as she walked over with a handbasket on her arm. She walked up and gave me a hug before she pulled back and looked at me.
“Well look at you all dressed up. Black is a good color on you.”
I laughed, then shoved her shoulder before we started to walk again. “The girls?”
“Waiting at the hotel. Heaven knows they needed a safe place to go.”
“Okay so what are we supposed to do with them?”
“I was thinking that we can't have them work for us for a little while just until they get their own place.”
“Well I don't mind that but then you have to earn their keep.”
“Jr?”
I turned around and saw Harshwenny standing there looking at us. I smiled and held a hand up as I looked back at Chrysalis. “This is Chrysalis, well I guess you could call her a coworker.” Harshwhinny smiled, pushed her cart up, and started to look Chrysalis up and down. Looking at them like Chrysalis was in better shape but was smaller but at least ten years younger. They looked at one another for another minute then Chrysalis laughed as she looked at her.
“I think you’ve got the wrong idea here, miss. While Jr is really nice, I have no interest in him in the way you may be thinking.”
Harshwhinny blushed as she looked at her, then nodded her head before she looked at me.
“I’m going up to check out.”
She walked off red cheeks and muttered. I smirked as I leaned down onto the cart then looked at her. With an innocent inn smile, she looked down at me.
“That was way too easy.”
I nodded my head as I looked back at her. “I would love it if you don’t make my life harder.”
“Yeah no, this is more entertaining.”
I flipped her off as I stood up, making her laugh more. I went to start walking away, but she reached into her pocket and pulled out a piece of folded paper. I took it then slipped it into my pocket before I started to walk to check out.
“Are you done with your friend?”
I stopped and looked to the right. There stood Harshwhinny with an annoyed look on her face. I laughed and nodded before I started to walk. “You and sunset both got so defensive today.” She walked up beside me and glared at me.
“Well, sorry but I’ve seen girls like her and they’re just trouble.”
I stopped and looked at her with a nasty look. She stopped realizing what she said then looked away. I took a deep breath then nodded as I looked at the near-empty checkout lanes. “Let’s just get checked out and get home.”
“Okay.”
She went over to the lane on the right, and I took the one on the left. We checked out, and she stood with the carts as I pulled my cart up to the front. I got out and put her stuff in the trunk and my stuff in the back seat. I put the carts back into the cart and got back in, then pulled off. We rode in silence.
“I’m sorry.”
I sighed then nodded as I drove. “Don’t worry, I just haven’t had to deal with an upset woman for a long time. I didn’t want to deal with two of you at once.”
“I am sorry, you're just a nice guy and I don’t want you to get in trouble.”
I laughed a little before I stopped at a red light. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to let myself go down like that.” She smiled then nodded as I turned into the apartment parking lot, and to my surprise, Sunset was sitting on the steps. When we parked near her, I got out and looked at her. She rubbed her arm as she looked at me. “Go on back to your apartment. I'm not too happy with you right now.” She looked a little more hurt and tried to speak.
“But…”
I narrowed my eyes, and she laughed as she stood up. I sighed and saw then spoke up. “Come to my apartment in twenty minutes and we'll talk.” She stopped and looked back at me, a smile on her face. I smiled back at her before she turned and walked back up the steps. I nodded my head before I grabbed my stuff then walked to my apartment. Once I had everything in the apartment, I smiled as I started to put the food away. I heard my door open behind me, and I looked back at the door as Sunset walked in. I nodded over to the chair. She sat down, and I smiled as I finished. I turned and leaned back on the counter, looking her in the eye.
“Hey, look I’m sorry you know how some guys are.”
I raised an eyebrow then nodded my head before I stood back up. “Yeah, but you don’t have to lump us all into that group.” She laughed a little, and I nodded my head before I walked over and sat down on the couch. “Well, I do need to ask you for help.”
“Oh?”
“Chrysalis has some girls Sombra tried to make work for him.”
Sunset frowned as she leaned back into the chair.
“I’ve been looking into that. Most of the girls have stayed with our group. A few have left the city but a few I did lose track of.” I nodded, understanding why this would bother her. “Yeah, I’m going to go talk with them tonight. Tomorrow I’ll be having them come to the office. I want to see if you may be able to help them. I’m sure they won’t trust me so much, so seeing a woman in power in the group may help them open up.”
“Yeah, but I still worry about what could happen.”
I nodded before I stood up. “Yeah, I don’t know what he did to them but I took over the gang so they are my trouble to deal with now.”
“Yeah it is.”
We laughed before we stood up. “Okay I’ll be going to deal with them, you go back to your apartment.” Sunset laughed a little before she opened the door and looked back and waved as she looked at me. I laughed then nodded my head before I grabbed my keys and walked back into the bathroom and pulled out the sack of cash. I pulled out a few hundred dollars and smiled as I put the bag back up. ‘Two grand should be a start-up bonus.’ I put the cash in my pocket then grabbed my keys before I walked out of the door. I locked the door behind me and walked over to my car.
“Hey Jr!”
I looked up and saw Rainbow leaning over the railing. I waved up to her then got in my car before I had to get into a conversation with her. I started up the engine and pulled out of the parking spot. I pulled onto the road and smiled as I drove down the street. I opened the glove box and grabbed the chokers and set them in the passenger seat. I rode down the road in silence, my thoughts about how I could deal with these girls. ‘Maybe I should get them a room in the apartments. No, no, if I do that, Sunset's friends will start asking questions.’ I drove into the hotel parking lot. I parked in front of the hotel and grabbed the chokers then stuffed them into my pocket. My colts appeared on my side just in case Chrysalis was trying something. “Never trust them as far as you could throw them.” I closed and locked the door before I looked back up to the hotel.
“Good to see you again Jr.”
I looked over to the door and smiled as I saw Chrysalis walking out. I smiled as I walked over hands in my coat pockets. “Good to see you too. So, how are the girls doing?” She sighed as she looked back up to the top floor.
“Yeah, but they’ve been keeping to themselves since I called you.”
I nodded as I looked at her. “Well, let’s go and get this over with.” She nodded then stepped aside and I walked into the hotel. Chrysalis hit the elevator button and held out a key card.
“Room 322.”
I nodded as the door opened. I got on and hit the third-floor button. The door closed and I sighed as I leaned back into the wall. I smiled at all the plans I had for these three. The elevator stopped the door siding open a second later. I walked out and was met with a girl. She had blue hair with purple highlights and b-cup breasts. She had pink eyes and had blue eyeliner and lipstick. She had on a short sleeve jacket and a small skirt with some nice hips. She had on a pair of knee-high, high heel boots.
“Hi, I’m Sonata Duck.”
I smiled and held out my hand. “Hello Sonata, call me Jr.” She smiled then took my hand. She let my hand go then we walked down to the room and she pulled out a key card from her bra. She unlocked the door and we walked in. Sitting on the couch were two girls and a good god. A large blonde sat on the right side of the couch with her hair tied back. She had on a purple shirt and shorts with a set of golden eyes with d-cup breasts. She had on leggings with triangles and short high-heel boots. She had on a spike belt and hairband. The last one was the biggest out of the three she had purple hair with bright blue highlights tied up into two ponytails. Her rack had to be at least a fucking e-cup. She had on a top with a sea-green jacket with ripped-off sleeves. Her pants were pink and she had on another set of high-heel boots.
“Hey girls this is Jr the guy Chrysalis said stopped Sombra’s old crew.”
They smiled up at me before Sonata sat down in between the two of them. I smiled as I walked back over to the door and locked the door and put the top door stopper in place. I turned and saw the nervous looks on their faces. I laughed and nodded as I looked at them. “Relax, I’ve come with a deal and you get something whether you say yes or no.” They all looked between each other and they looked worried as they looked back at me. The blonde spoke up for the group.
“What do you want?”
I laughed a little more then I pulled out the chokers. Their eyes went wide as they looked at them. “Information gatherers. I know you’ll be attending Canterlot high as well. I need people who can get into groups and have ears to the ground. To listen for anything from parties to gang activities in the school.”
“Okay, we’ve got some experience with that but how did you?”
“I know what you three are. I know what you can do and I want that on my side. I also know these can feed your powers. As for where I got them. My benefactor told me you three were what I was looking for. And I have a starting bonus for y’all.” I pulled out the cash and set the cash and chokers down on the table between us. I crossed my left leg over my right and interlocked my fingers. “Like I said, you get the chokers regardless of your answer. The cash if you say yes.” I smiled as they all looked at each other and I laughed. Then stood and walked back over to the door. “I’m going down to the kitchen to give you all some time to talk.” I moved the stopped and unlocked the door. “Oh, and it would take me a day to hunt you three down if you really want to play that game.” I opened the door and moved outside. I closed the door and saw Chrysalis standing at the end of the hall with a glass of wine in hand. I smiled then walked down the hall to her and she smiled as she looked at me.
“So, how’d it go?”
I stopped a few feet away from her and smiled as I looked at her. “I gave them some options. Figured I’d give them some alone time to think about it.” She sipped her wine then looked back at the door.
“I have the feeling you're planning something. Want to let me in on it?”
I laughed then nodded as I looked at her. “Not much of a plan, more like a gamble.” Chrysalis raised an eyebrow before I looked back to the door waiting.
“Say J…”
The door opened and the blonde-haired girl looked at me. She stepped out and looked at me.
“We’d be happy to work with you. When do we start?”
I smiled as I walked back over to her. “Once school starts. Beyond that you need not worry.” She smiled and nodded before I noticed the choker around her neck.
