Soar to the Dash

Rainbow Dash zooms through the clouds with her fellow wonderbolt teammates. As they all reach to the finish line, Spitfire flies over to Rainbow Dash.

''Well, Rainbow Crash. I got to say, your techniques have really improved over time.''

Rainbow Dash was stargazed in excitement, ''that was the most nice thing you have ever said to me.''

''Yeah,'' she said. ''Well, don't take the compliment too far or else you will be ahead of me,'' Spitfire winks at Rainbow Dash and flies down to rest with the other wonderbolts.

In the meanwhile, Rainbow Dash goes inside the locker room to get a towel from her locker and wipe her sweat of her sweat.

''Well, I got to say, that has been a tiring training.''

Surprise is doing a massage on Fleet Foot.

''Tell me about it: Spitfire's shouting skills need to go to volume 15. I mean who is she? Princess Luna?''

Rainbow Dash chuckles. Spitfire walks in the room saying, ''I heard that.''

Rainbow Dash shuts her locker closed and sees Soarin next to her.

''Oh,'' she uttered. ''Hey, Soarin. What's up?''

''Hey, Dash. I'm just chilling,'' he responded.

''Right.'' Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes in boredom.

''Soarin lost for words, isn't that a surprise?'' exclaimed Spitfire.

Surprise laughs.

Misty Fly comes in, ''when is the SoarinDash ship going to sail?''

''Soar-what ship?'' questioned Rainbow Dash.

Soarin blushed hard, ''shut it, Spitfire. At least I don't shout at ponies for no reason.''

''Damn...'' said Fleetfoot.

''Whatever.'' Spitfire wears her sunglasses and blows through her whistle, ''GO OUT THERE AND GIVE ME 500 LAPS, EVERYPONY. GO, GO, GO!'' Spitfire blows her whistle in Soarin's ears again.

''Are you kidding me?'' Rainbow Dash gusted.

After the 500 laps of flying, Rainbow Dash goes back to her locker and gets her towel to wipe her sweaty face. Soarin comes walking in and say, ''why is she our captain?'' Soarin sighs over to his locker.

Rainbow Dash replies, ''I know right. She wasn't that bad at first.''

FLASHBACK

At the wonderbolt academy, all of the wonderbolt reserves stand in one straight line to wait for Spitfire's service.

Spitfire scatters around them, ''looky what we got here. Bet you all think you are wonderbolt material, don't ya?''

''YES, MA'AM!''

''Think you got what it takes to be an elite flyer?''

''YES, MA'AM!''

''Well, then. Let me be the first to tell ya.'' Spitfire points at a pony, ''YOU DON'T! If you have what it takes to be an elite flyer, you would already be a wonderbolt.'' Spitfire faces a pony in the eye to watching their legs shake, ''still think your something special?''

The pony stuttingly says, ''no, ma'am.''

BACK TO THE PRESENT

''Okay, I change my mind. She was scary and that's saying something from me,'' said Rainbow Dash as she let out a slight chuckle afterwards.

Soarin responds, ''yeah, I remember when I was first new to the wonderbolts.''

Surprise comes walking in with Misty Fly saying, ''yeah, to when you first clipped your wing and earned your nickname, Clipper.'' Misty Fly laughs.

Misty Fly says, ''so is this the time where Soarin finally admits his feelings to...'' Misty Fly was suddenly caught off by a baby blue coloured hoof in her mouth. ''Oh, so we are being a bit feisty, are we?'' said Soarin.

Misty Fly spits out his hoof.

Rainbow Dash scratches her scalp, ''what feelings?'' Surprise was about to say something until Soarin pushes her and Misty Fly out of the room.

Soarin takes a deep breath and finally lets a word out of his mouth but still stutters, ''Rainbow, I- well, you see...''

Rainbow Dash looks at the time. ''Oh, look at the time. I really need to get going to Rarity's sleepover. We will have to talk later.'' Rainbow Dash zooms out of the door.

''BUT!'' Soarin sighs, ''never mind.''

Spitfire comes in with Misty Fly and Surprise. ''Way to go, nutcracker.''

Apple Jack shutters, ''where is that Rainbow Dash at? She's leaving us here as cold as a timberwolves toenail.''

All of a sudden, a rainbow maned pony zooms out of nowhere.

''Hey, guys. Sorry I'm late but I got caught up with somepony.''

Pinkie Pie jumps up and down. ''OOOH! WHO WAS IT? WHO WAS IT?''

''Pinkie, darling, please sit down and rest. It's been a long day, aren't you tired?'' asked Rarity.

Pinkie Pie chuckles. ''Oh, I never get tired.''

''Yeah. We figured that out years ago,'' said Rainbow Dash.

''So, RD. Who were ya talking to that made ya late?'' questioned Apple Jack.

Rainbow Dash responds, ''Soarin, like I don't get that guy. Every time he speaks with me, he stutters or never say a word. It's almost like Fluttershy but even shy.''

''Sounds like Marble Pie,'' Apple Jack adjusted.

''HEY!'' Pinkie Pie yells.

Rarity gasps, ''Rainbow Dash, do you know what this could mean?''

''No,'' she uttered. ''What?''

Twilight gets out Rarity's romance books. ''Well, judging by many romance novels I have read from. It says that this is a symptom of ENDEARMENT.''

Pinkie Pie lets out twinkles in her eyes and gasp, ''ENDEARMENT!'' Pinkie Pie exclaims. ''Wait, what's en... de... ah... meant...?''

''It means love, Pinkie,'' Twilight indicated.

Rainbow Dash shouts, ''WHAT? You are crazy, I mean how would you know about love, Twi.'' Rainbow Dash does a disgusted facial expression, ''no one would love an egghead.''

Rarity calms Rainbow Dash down by combing her mane after a long day of training, ''Rainbow Dash, calm down. Let's now do our...'' Rarity cheerfully exclaims, ''FACIAL MASKS!''

As Rarity finishes doing Twilight's facial mask and puts cucumbers on her eyes, she did the same with Spike, Pinkie Pie and herself. Fluttershy only had two dots on both of her cheeks. Apple Jack rubbed her face and ate the cucumbers. Rainbow Dash was being stubborn so Rarity gave up on forcing to put a facial mask on her.

''I don't get y'all. What is so good about this fancy-nancy-smhancy masks,'' said Apple Jack.

Rarity rolled her eyes. ''To reduce the puffiness of your eyes, of course.''

Pinkie Pie does puppy eyes, ''can we play truth or dare now?''

Twilight sighs aloud, ''fine.'' Whilst Pinkie Pie jumps in the sky with Spike and they both yell with moustaches, ''YAY!''

As everypony got comfortable, Pinkie Pie started the game.

''Dashie,'' she said. ''Truth or dare.''

''You already know what I pick,'' Rainbow Dash folds her hooves while flapping her wings, ''dare.''

Twilight dares Rainbow Dash, ''I dare you to make Rarity do a facial mask on you and wear a dress.'' Twilight smirks at her.

''OH, HECK NO!'' Rainbow Dash yells. ''It's a dare, Dashie.'' Rarity smudges the facial cream all over her face. ''YUCK!'' exclaimed Rainbow Dash. Rarity pops two cucumbers on both of her eyes. She then uses her magic to grab one of her dresses from the mannequins and puts it on Rainbow Dash. ''PERFECT!'' said Rarity.

Rainbow Dash scowls and takes off the dress and kicks it under Rarity's bed. She eats her cucumbers and wipes her face with her hooves.

''Finally, truth or dare, Pinkie Pie,'' said Rainbow Dash.

Pinkie Pie responds with, ''truth.''

''Boring, thought you would be brave and pick dare. That's oddly out of character for you, Pink. But anyways, is it true that...''

Fluttershy finishes, ''...you have a crush on Cheese Sandwich?''

Pinkie Pie flirtingly sighs and pulls out a picture from her mane. It was a picture of a yellow stallion with brown curly mane, wearing a yellow t-shirt. Everypony, including Spike all peak over her head to see and they all gasp.

''Well, what do ya know? He is the perfect stallion for ya,'' said Apple Jack.

Pinkie Pie's blush fades away. ''Okay, truth or dare, Fluttershy.''

Fluttershy squeals, ''truth...''

''Is it true you love Discord?'' asked Rainbow Dash while smirking at her which made her blush. ''UH, HAH! I KNEW IT! I SEE THAT BLUSH COMING THROUGH,'' Rainbow Dash exclaims.

''Well, it makes sense,'' said Twilight.

Rainbow Dash smirks at Twilight. ''Truth or dare, Twi?'' Twilight responds with, ''truth.''

Rainbow Dash gusted, ''what is with you all?'' Rainbow Dash rolls her eyes, ''choosing truth all the time.''

Apple Jack rolled her eyes. ''Just get with the game, RD.''

''Fine.'' Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. ''Is it true that you have a crush on that guard in the Crystal Empire, Flash Sentry?''

Twilight blushes hard and mutters, ''I- what... no...'' Twilight exclaims, ''do YOU love Soarin?''

''I- what... HEY! This isn't your turn and I never said truth and you never replied... well, properly.''

Suddenly, a knock on the door occurs. ''I'll get that,'' said Apple Jack going outside of the bedroom to open the door. As Apple Jack opens the door, she finds a letter lying on the doorstep. She gets back inside the room. ''Uhm, Rarity. There is a letter and...''

Rarity snatches the letter off her hooves by her magic, ''it is from... Rainbow Dash?''

''Huh? Why would my mail be delivered to you?''

''Well, why don't you open it and see, silly,'' said Pinkie Pie with a smile.

As Rainbow Dash opens the letter, she reads through it.

Twilight wondered, ''what does it say?'' Rainbow Dash answers, ''it is... a date?''

Spike spits out his water. Pinkie Pie copies and get a glass of water to sip and spill it out.

''Who is it from?'' asked Fluttershy.

''Well, it doesn't say. It only says the location, time and when it is going to occur.''

Rarity gasps, ''you have a secret admirer!''

''Secret-holly-molly-roca-molly-what?''

''A secret admirer, but who do you think it is?'' asked Twilight.

''I never gotten asked out on a date before,'' said Rainbow Dash.

Twilight scans through the paper. ''Oooh! I love this pony's typography design.''

''typo-golical-tropical-what?''

''Oh. It's just a type of handwriting.''

''Okay...''

''Well, I will have to make a beautiful dress for you if you want this first date to be the best ever.'' Rarity thinks to herself, ''now where is this date located exactly? Because style depends on it's location.''

Rainbow Dash reads through the paper again, ''it says it is at The Tasty Treat as he did go there before and the food was exquisite.''

''Oooh!'' Pinkie Pie stargazes, ''that is the restaurant Rarity and I helped improve to make it the best restaurant in Canterlot.''

''He did the right pick!'' Rarity gasps, ''he must be really posh!''

''But I sort of wished it was a wonderbolt...'' Rainbow Dash blocked her mouth with her hoof, ''I MEAN...''

Twilight looked at her with a smirk. ''So is this the time where our little Dashie finally confesses her true feelings about Soarin?'' Twilight gives a slight chuckle.

''Ugh, shut up. I don't like him and he doesn't like me but at least I'm brave enough to confess.'' She flinches her eyebrow at Twilight.

''I'M FINISHED!'' Rarity yelled. ''Now come on, darling. Wear it.''

Rainbow Dash wears the dress, ''it's...'' Rarity mumbles, ''let me guess: you think the dress is too itchy or frilly or...''

''AWESOME!''

Rarity smiled. ''Well, I'm glad you like it!''

Spike yawns and falls asleep on the ground. Whereas, Twilight lifts him up with her magic and puts him inside his sleeping bag.

Fluttershy announces, ''alright, everypony. We better get to sleep now, after all it has been a long day today.''

Pinkie Pie pats Fluttershy on the head. ''Oh. Don't worry, your sweet little auntie Pinkie Pie never gets tired.''

''I'm a year older than you,'' Fluttershy said quietly as Pinkie Pie goes to sleep.

The rest goes to sleep, including Fluttershy.
