Soar to the Dash

The next morning, the whole of the mane six are still sleeping, except... Rarity. Rarity shouts to wake everypony up.

''WAKEY WAKEY, MY LITTLE DARLINGS!''

Spike rolled his sleeping bag. Pinkie Pie jumps to the ceiling and come backs down.

'RARITY! I AM SUPPOSED TO DO THAT!'' Pinkie shouted.

Twilight yells, ''BANANAS!'' Twilight wakes up fully with an embarrassed look upon her face.

Apple Jack respond, ''what is all the ruckus?''

Pinkie Pie replies, ''I would say it is more a fracas than a ruckus.''

Apple Jack rolled her eyes. Fluttershy wakes up and yawns.

''Good morning, everypony.''

The only pony that was sleeping was Rainbow Dash, the pony that was going to be the most important on this day.

''WAAAAAAKEEEEEE... UUUUUUPPPPPP!!!'' Pinkie Pie roared to wake her up.

Rainbow Dash and her sleeping bag fizz up in the air and come back down.

''What in Equestia was that about, Pink?''

Apple Jack responded for her, ''don't you know what today is?''

Rainbow Dash plugs cotton wool inside her ears and goes back to sleep. ''It is the day where I sleep all day.''

Twilight uses her magic to get the cotton wool out of her ears. ''It is your first date.''

''And not just any first date. But a date with somepony you have loved for many years now,'' said Rarity. ''Soarin.''

Rainbow Dash flies up to the ceiling, ''WHAT?'' Rainbow Dash clears her throat, ''I mean...''

''You don't have to pretend anymore, Dash,'' said Apple Jack. ''Now go and brush your teeth so you can wear your beautiful dress to your first date ever with your very special future soulmate.''

Rainbow Dash gusted, ''you know you are annoying.'' Everypony flinches their eyebrows at her. ''What? Okay, okay, I will get ready.'' Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes.

As she brushed her teeth and showered, Rarity brushed her mane and made her wear the dress she had created the other night.

''Oh, darling. You look like a rainbow princess in that grown, which reminds me...''

''It is pretty awesome but Rarity, please no more. I don't need anything or else I will be overdressed,'' said Rainbow Dash.

''Don't worry about that, darling. I'm just going to do a mane style on you and add this barrette I have had sitting in my drawer doing nothing. So I'm going to let you keep this.''

''Aw, Rarity. You didn't have to.''

''It's fine, darling. I have so many.''

''Well, thank you for your generosity,'' Rainbow stops and think, ''yuck. I have gotten a lot sappy ever since I got that letter.''
Rarity lets out a posh chuckle.

The train arrives and they all get abroad.

Pinkie Pie shouts all throughout the tunnel. ''YAY! TODAY IS THE DAY WHERE ONE OF MY BESTFRIENDS GO ON THEIR FIRST DATE!''

Rainbow Dash blushed hard, ''Pinkie Pie...''

Twilight laughs.

Discord teleports inside the train. ''DID SOMEPONY SAY DATE?''

''Discord!'' Fluttershy hugs him. ''What are you doing here?''

''Well,'' Discord wears his glasses. ''I heard that my good dear, DASHIE...'' Discord picks up Rainbow Dash and hugs her tight, ''...is going on date so I'm here to ask...'' He lets her go, ''can I help...?'' He does puppy eyes at her.

''No. Absolutely not. You will just make it chaotic.''

''Oh, please. I promise I won't.''

''No.''

Discord mumbles, ''fine... party... pooper...'' He spits out, ''ponies...''

Pinkie Pie lands her face on the window to see they have reached at Canterlot. ''Hey, everypony. We are here and oooh, not many ponies are out today.''

''Well,'' said Rarity. ''That is unusual.''

The train stops and they all get off.

Spike kisses the ground as he gets off the train with the others, ''home sweet home.'' Twilight rolled her eyes. ''Come on, we have to drop Rainbow to her date.''

She blushes.

As they arrive at the restaurant, they meet a baby blue colt pegasus with a ironed suit. Rainbow Dash was more thrilled than ever to go on a date with him.

''Well, Rainbow. You got lucky,'' Apple Jack winked at her. Rainbow Dash grudges and trots off towards the baby blue pegasus.

''Hi, Soarin!''

The baby blue pegasus replied, ''oh, Rainbow. I'm really glad you came, I didn't think you would.'' He scratches his neck. ''You know, because you are not the lovey-dovey type.''

''Don't sweat it. I heard this restaurant is awesome!'' Soarin looks at her, ''and I'm really thrilled for this date.''

''Sweet!'' He opens the door for her, ''shall we?'' He points his hoof out for her to grab it. She takes her hoof and put it on top of his. ''Okay,'' she smiled.

As they got in, the waiter comes towards them with a notepad. ''Good evening, I am your waiter for the day. Is it just the two of you?''

Soarin replied with, ''yes, it is just the two of us.''

''Well, then. A table of two will be booked for you, have seat over here.'' The waiter points out a table in front of her.

As they both sat down, Rarity comes in the restaurant. The waiter respond, ''Rarity? Is that you? Oh, it has been so long.''

Rarity hushes her down, ''shhh. You don't happen to book a table for a rainbow maned pegasus with a baby blue stallion?''

''Oh, yes. They are right over there.'' '

'Thank you,'' said Rarity.

As Rarity pulls out a chair for her to sit, Discord comes popping in. ''HELLO!'' Rarity got frightened and shrieked. She whispered.

''Discord, what are you doing here? Can't you see I'm observing Rainbow Dash's date to make sure everything goes as plan and smoothly.''

Discord replied, ''I'm sorry, my dear. Can I help? Please?'' He holds up a puppy, squishing her cheeks.

Rarity gusted, ''ugh, fine. But please be quiet.''

Discord picks up Rarity and yells, ''HOORAY!''

Rainbow Dash questioned, ''who was that?'' Soarin shrugs his shoulders.

The waiter comes by, ''is everything okay?''

Rarity whispers. ''Oh, yes. That was just my... friend.'' Rarity coughs, ''I would love a big bowl of curry so it covers our faces from them.'' Rarity gestured towards the rainbow maned pegasus and the baby blue stallion. ''STAT!'' she yelled.

The waiter said, ''yes, ma'am.'' She stomps the bowl onto the table.

Anyways, now back to Rainbow Dash and Soarin. The waiter comes towards them again and asks for their order.

Rainbow Dash replies, ''I would like a curried oatcake and a glass sandwich that has been mandated overnight in a mustard dressing.''

Soarin responds, ''do you have any pies?'' The waiter looks at him. ''No? Okay, I'll just have the finest vegetable soup here.''

The waiter trots away to the kitchen.

Soarin then stares at Rainbow Dash with hearts around his head.

''What?'' exclaimed Rainbow Dash.

''Huh?'' Soarin shook his head. ''Uh, what? Nothing.''

Rarity slams her face on the curry bowl and mumbles to herself, ''she has to be flirty not mean...''

Discord popped a light bulb in his head. ''I got it! Wait right here.'' He teleports away somewhere he can think straight.

The waiter comes along with the food to Rainbow Dash's and Soarin's table. You could hear Rainbow Dash's tummy rumbling. ''Oh, sorry. I haven't eaten all day.''

The waiter trots away after saying, ''that is okay.''

Rainbow Dash smashes her whole face on the food. Rarity was looking disgusted, ''and no manners in front of her date. This surely is going to be

THE... WORST... DATE... EVER...

Until she saw Soarin chuckling and dived right in his food to match her.

What am I doing? You know terribly well the most awesome flyer in Equestia would never like you. You should stop trying. He thought to himself.

This is such an awkward moment. How do I light up this mood? Should I just walk away? She thought to herself.

Soon after that, they both look at each other gracefully. There was a long silence between their eye contact. It was Rainbow Dash who broke the silence.

''So,'' she hissed. ''You got any new moves to try out for wonderbolt training?''

He muttered, ''uh... yeah. I'm thinking of to do something that matches my special talent.'' He looks at his cutie mark. It was a yellow lightning bolt with two wings popping out. He thinks to himself, What are you saying, dude? Your talent isn't anything special like a rainboom.

Rainbow Dash responded, ''cool! Maybe after dinner, we can go out and fly for awhile.'' She thinks to himself, What? What am I doing being all romantic and lovey-dovey. I'm Rainbow Dash and I'm awesome.

He raises his eyebrows at her which symbolised, ''really? You are not normally lovey-dovey.''

''I meant to practise our flying tricks.'' She smiled.

They both laugh at each other.

''I don't know why we are both shy towards each other. I mean we are...'' A voice in his head appears and says, friends. He said, ''...friends.''

''Yeah, like I'm supposed to be the most confident and awesome flyer in the wonderbolts.'' She said confidently.

''You really are an incredible flyer,'' he smiled at her.

''Well, I'm full.'' She drops her utensils on the table. ''Come on. Let's go flying in the clouds.''

Rarity said, ''well, looks like my work here is done.''

Discord materializes in front of the white unicorn.

''OH, COME ON!''
