Soar to the Dash

It was a beautiful and a dazzling night in the clouds. It looked all peaceful for Rainbow Dash's first ever date. There was owl's hooting, stars twinkling but of course the moon wasn't set yet. The clouds were in perfect shape and position. The nocturnal weather ponies sure did a fine job on the sky.

As Rainbow Dash and Soarin flew through the beautiful night sky, Soarin tried to light up the mood by asking her many questions to get to know her more. Although, they have known each other for many years.

''This night is really beautiful tonight, don't you think?'' asked Soarin.

Rainbow Dash responded, ''I guess so. Princess Luna's night is way awesome than Princess Celestia's day. I don't get why she felt jealous of her over one thousand years ago. PLUS! She also gets to guide dreams. How cool is that?''

''Yeah, that is truly amazing and impressive,'' said Soarin.

''Hey, that looks like a comfortable cloud for me to sleep for the night and watch the moon set,'' Rainbow Dash gestured at the cloud she was talking about. ''This was really great, Soarin. I really enjoyed spending the day with you, I hope we can carry on with this more often.''

And soon after that, Rainbow Dash gave Soarin a quick lingering kiss on the lips and flew up to the comfortable and luxurious cloud. As she landed on the cloud, a light blue stallion landed right beside her. Her face turned hot pink like Pinkie Pie.

The light blue stallion then responded with a question, ''so what time do you go to sleep?''

The rainbow maned mare answered with, ''oh, I don't normally go to sleep in the night. I take naps in the day, I am sort of a nocturnal pony. What about you?''

Soarin tilted his head, ''I sleep through the...'' Soarin couldn't continue as he heard a loud snore. It was Rainbow Dash sleeping right beside him. Oh, so that is when you go to sleep. Soarin smiled at her and wrapped his wing around her and went to sleep next to her.

What was that? There was two pegasuses under the cloud, eavesdropping. Why, it is Surprise and Misty Fly, laughing.

Misty Fly hushes Surprise down so they don't wake up Soarin and Rainbow Dash.

''The ship has finally sailed,'' said Misty Fly.

Surprise chuckled quietly to not wake them up. They soon leave them two alone and head off as they were getting sleepy.

In the morning, Soarin wakes up and yawns. ''What a dream, Rainbow Dash and I sleeping with each other and...'' Soarin looks at the rainbow maned pegasus sleeping right next to him. He smiled and shook her to wake up.

''Wakey, wakey, Dashie.''

Rainbow Dash wakes up and yawns.

''Soarin...? What are you doing here in my cloud bed...?''

Soarin chuckles. ''We were looking at the moonrise, remember? You fell asleep.''

''I did?'' She yawned, ''I'm sorry.''

Soarin chuckles. ''No worries.''

Rainbow Dash gets up. ''Well, I am going to go to Sugar Cube Corner to have my breakfast.''

Soarin adds, ''I will come along.''

Rainbow Dash turns around and say, ''what?'' Soarin sweated and turned red like a tomato.

''I mean, nothing.'' He flies off until Rainbow exclaims.

''Wit!'' He turns around to face her. ''I didn't say you can't come, I would like some company.'' She blushed. What am I doing? She said to herself.

'Well,'' Soarin smiled. ''Let's go then.''

They fly down to Ponyville to go to Sugar Cube Corner. It happened to turn into a race.

''I WON!'' yelled Rainbow Dash.

''No, I won!'' yelled Soarin.

''No, I won!'' yelled Rainbow Dash.

They both laughed.

''Come on. Let's go in,'' said Rainbow Dash.

As they go in, Rainbow Dash taps on the bell on the donut showcase counter. Mrs Cake then comes in front of it.

''Oh,'' she chuckles. ''Hello, deary. Is there anything you want me to do?'' she asked.

Soarin exclaimed with, ''I would like that giant rainbow blueberry pie!'' He gestured at the pie.

Rainbow Dash added, ''and I would just have some chocolate donuts and some milk with it.''

''Here you go,'' said Mrs Cake. ''Enjoy!''

They both sat down at a table to enjoy their breakfast. Soarin puts his all face in the pie and gobbles everything down. Rainbow Dash hysterically laughs. Soarin puts on a confused expression upon his face.

She stopped laughing. ''You remind me of...'' She stopped and think back when she lied to Pinkie Pie about her liking pies. ''Never mind,'' she said.

Pinkie Pie, Apple Jack and Fluttershy eavesdrop on them from outside, looking from the side of the door.

Soarin brings up a question. ''So, do you have a crush on anypony?'' he asked.

Rainbow Dash replied, ''oh, come on. You know me. Crushes for me are lame.''

''Right. Like I haven't heard that from you.''

''Okay... What about you? Do you have a crush on anypony? What about Spitfire?''

''No,'' he uttered. ''I don't have a crush on anypony, especially Spitfire.''

''Are you okay, Soarin? You are not quite acting like yourself...''

He slams his hooves on the table.

''Oh, you want to know why I'm not acting like myself?''

Rainbow Dash was confused. ''Bro, calm down. I just said...''

''Whatever.'' He flies off outside the door.

''Wait,'' Rainbow Dash tries to go outside until Pinkie Pie pins her down to the ground. Apple Jack ties her down with her rope. Fluttershy starts the conversation with, ''why would you do that?''

''Do what?'' she asked. Fluttershy looks at Apple Jack and Pinkie Pie.
''Look, hun.'' Apple Jack continues, ''we saw the whole thing that has happened and what we witnessed was something we didn't think would come from somepony like you.''

''What are you talking about?''

Fluttershy says, ''you had heartbroken him that is why he was acting differently towards you. He does have a crush, you. Or else, he wouldn't of asked you out on a date yesterday. But when you said crushes are lame to you, what YOU said was lame.''

''And...'' Pinkie Pie jumps on Rainbow Dash. ''Listen up, Dashie. You heartbroken him and now you have to apologise. He sacrifices everything for you and now you have to do the same to him. You have to fight for your relat... I mean, friendship with him.'' Pinkie Pie gets off her and takes off the rope on her.

Rainbow Dash stands up and sighs. ''Fine.''

Pinkie Pie yells, ''THAT IS THE SPIRIT!'' Rainbow Dash flies out the door. Apple Jack takes off her hat and puts it on top of Fluttershy's head for act of assertiveness.

Pinkie Pie exclaims, ''Hey! I did something too and I always wanted to wear your hat.'' Her face tilts down to the floor and becomes into a pensive facial expression.

Apple Jack rolls her eyes and puts her hoof in the air just like how Apple Bloom does with her friends. Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie does the same.

As Soarin arrives at the wonderbolts academy, he goes inside to the locker room. He opens up his locker and bangs his head to the ceiling of the locker because of Surprise.

''HOW WAS YOUR DATE WITH DASH?''

Misty Fly exclaimed, ''we saw that you slept with her. Any dirty nights you thinking of doing with her?''

Fleetfoot shouts out her name.

''Go away,'' he said.

''Excuse me?'' everypony mimics over each other.

''Just answer our question and be honest with us: are you two dating or not?'' asked Fleetfoot.

''I am telling you the truth, we are not dating,'' he sneered. ''Apparently, crushes are too lame for her.''

Rainbow Dash crashes through the door and calls out his name. ''SOARIN! I am... oh, wait.''

Misty Fly pushes the other two out the door along with herself, ''we will just get out of here.''

As the door gets shut closed, Rainbow Dash looks at Soarin. Soarin asks her, ''what are you doing here? I thought crushes were too lame for you.''

Rainbow Dash responds, ''Soarin, listen to me. Whatever I said, I didn't mean it. I didn't know you had crush on me and... I'm stupid, okay? You asked me out on a date, tried to impress me and sacrifice everything for me and I saw none of that. I'm blind but what I am saying is...'' Rainbow Dash looks down on the ground and back at his emerald eyes. ''I... Love... You... Too...''

Soarin was flabbergasted. ''You... what? You mean it? But I thought you aren't lovey-dovey.''

Rainbow Dash took a deep breath. ''I know I am not but I hate to see you heartbroken and upset. And no, I did not just say that just to spare your feelings. I say that because for all the things we have been through together, all the fun times, heroic moments, I gained feelings for you too.''

Soarin grabs her by the waist and gives her a long lingering kiss. He closed his eyes and so did Rainbow Dash. They both enjoyed the moment.

A long eternity later, Rainbow Dash pushes away and chuckles.

''Okay, that's enough. We better get going with our practise.''

Before she heads out the door, she gives him a quick kiss. Soarin felt dizzy and fell on the spot.

During the practise, they were having a competition on who is the most fastest of them all. Of course it is Rainbow Dash, the most confident pegasus in all of Equestia and has a talent for doing the incredible rainboom. That was once indicated as a legend only. Until, she proved it and got her cutie mark. You know the rest...

Now, enough of Rainbow Dash. Let's see where Soarin is at.

Soarin flies at a high-speed to catch up with Rainbow Dash. In the meanwhile, as he does, he ponders to himself about: Does she really love me? She has never said 'I love you' to anypony. Is she really ready to date? I mean she is pretty immature if I say so myself.

Suddenly, a raspy voice calls out for his name. He notices that he is nearly at the finish line. He strongly flaps his wings to go rapidly to the finish line. As he does, he lands on a rainbow maned pegasus and they both fell down. He blushes.

The rest of the wonderbolts passes the finish line as well.

''Way to go, Romeo.'' Spitfire crossed her hooves, still flapping her wings to stay in the air.

''So does this mean the ship has finally sailed? You guys made up?'' said Misty Fly.

Rainbow Dash blushed and got off of the cloud. ''What are you talking about?''

Everypony smirks at Soarin, ''so?''

Soarin sighs and looks at Rainbow Dash. She replied for him, ''none of your business.'' They both dash out of the crowd and soars down to go inside the locker room and... make out (haha, you see what I did there? No? Okay, I'll stop with these puns. )

''So that means sarcastic-and-doesn't-want-to-admit yes,'' said Surprise.
