The Cutie Mark Crusaders are learning about Equestrian myths in their class. Later, they find a buried book near Twilight's house. It was a book about lost pony myths about legendary pony heroes from the past that is forgotten by modern ponies.

Among the various myths in the book, the CMCs especially liked the Legend of BUWH, the Pony with Hope. According to the story, BUWH was a young filly who lived in the era in which King Sombra conquered the Crystal Empire. Her parents and family told her to 'just obey' the king and they have no choice but to do it. However, BUWH didn't kneel so easily. She made many efforts to help other Crystal Ponies.
