Chapter 2: The Office / Visions

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

It's been so many years since Master travelled in this desert, Hoping he remembers at least 2 landscapes that will help him reach Ponyville faster.

"I should've sketched a map."

He muttered, as he eyed the countless hills of sand in the desert, searching for at least one place that seems even the slightest of familiarity to him. Everything looked the same. Cacti stood in their places, each and every plateau striped with the same shade of yellow, Tumbleweed bounced across the ground. However, the sheer monotony of the job didn't stop him. It's only been days, and we finally left the desert. He stopped to extract drinkable water from cacti on his way, keeping his health up. What stood before him was a green grassland.

"Ponyville is close. I can feel it."

Well, he's right. He just needs to pass through the Everfree forest and he'll be on his way.
As Master set hoof in the forest, he remembered how scary it was back then. All fillies were not allowed to go there, looking around, Master tried to carefully avoid every plant and animal he speculated to be dangerous.

"Somepony actually lives here?"

He said, as he saw Zecora's house in the forest. A few patches of vine and moss later, there he was. Ponyville was visible in he distance above the hills. Multiple houses all stacked near each other. The same hay-made roofs, concrete walls, and flowering trees as he saw when he was in Equestria before traveling to the white blizzard where he found Wolf. Just more polished. That was home, and his assistant, now friend lives there.

He ran all the way to the town square as fast as he can, searching for Wolf wherever he can.

"Hey, do you know where I can find Dr. Wolf?"

"He's in his office, having therapy sessions with a line of ponies that need help."

"Where is his office, exactly?"

"One leap straight ahead, then two turns to the right."

"Thanks!"

Master then followed the instructions, and ran all the way until he found a house-like building that looked like where he should find Wolf. He slowly walked through he door into the hallway, and looked around his environment. There seems to have been many pictures of his patients, and they all looked so happy. He seems to have done a very good job.

"I think I might need one of these."

Master walked further through the hallway, to find a door entitled with:
"Office".
there was a small window in the door, where he looked to check if the room was free.
He was still busy with a patient, it seemed. Master intends to leave, and after he passed a few walls, the patient left the room.

"Huh. I guess it's free now."

then Master had second thoughts.
rather convenient, don't you think?
suspiciously convenient if you ask me. Eh, what do I know? I'm just a narrator.

Master then left the building and decided to rent the nearest building with the bits that he had, for a 3 day long stay before he could confront his assistant. After all, he too, had a job and a new life before he can be ready to see him once more.
Master needed a break before he met Wolf after all these years. For now, let's end Master's part of the story and shift our Focus to Dr. Wolf. Going back to the therapy session, which featured flash sentry.

"Mr. Sentry, just because others see you as unlikeable or unpleasant, does not mean you really are that way."

"But everyone gave me looks for the past month and I had no idea.. What did I ever do wrong?"

Then Doc saw Master behind the door.

"I must be seeing things..."
He thought.

"Don't worry about that Mr. Sentry. You did nothing wrong, people just don't really find clichés all that interesting. No offense, that is. You are fine the way you are. Just remember to be happy about who you are! Only true friends don't care about your bad qualities."

"Thanks for the advice doc! I'll be sure to take care of myself, you too."

"No problem, Mr. Sentry."

Flash Sentry then walked out of the door happily and waved goodbye.
Doctor takes his time, and took a deep breath. He was a bit concerned over master's supposed presence.

"It's good to be helping."

It was already late in the morning when flash came, and no one ever realized how fast time flies,
It's already night. As of why Wolf seemed to have seen his depiction of Master behind the door, he tried forgetting the event for now so he can come back to it later. Wolf walks into his lavatory, so he can brush his teeth before hitting the hay and going to sleep, and stared into the mirror for some time.

"Am I imagining things? Or is he actually here...?"

At this moment, Doc was zoning out. He blindly put the cap back on the toothpaste and brush back in it's cup, and started washing his face. Then, he snapped back to reality, and realized, as he was washing his face, he accidentally scratched his eye. Small amounts of fluid were seeping from the cut, and he knew he'd have to sanitize it before bacteria invaded his face. He washed it, and as he tried to reach out and grab the first aid kit as quickly as he can, he fell straight to the floor; The floor was wet. He painfully got up, and bandaged his eye. Turns out the cut was deep, and he was scared it might take too long to heal. His hand was covered in liquid, so he went back to wash it, and still, the hand was dirty. The dirtiness, however, was less visible so he thought that this was acceptable.

It was finally time that Doc went to sleep, as he was confident the bed wouldn't be stained after this episode.
So he shut his eyes, and tried to sleep. He twisted and turned, shifting the blanket from one side to another, as he saw visions of Master. Master looked as emotionless as he saw him since all these years, and could not bear to see him that way. Doc clenched onto the pillow as he tried to resist the visions he had, but to no avail. His slumber has already started, and he was having a nightmare. Everyone he knew, he saw, they were all disappearing. They were all leaving him alone.
He didn't like that. He was in an empty black void, in a large hallway where there was nothing but bookshelves, stacked up near each other. Master stood before him, and he looked angry, as if he's about to unleash his wrath upon him.

Doc backed away, but it was too late.
He had been electrocuted by a laser beam, which would slowly deform him.
He was, quite literally, being turned back into a normal wolf, and the pain felt so, very, real.
