Tragic Times

"Spiike...Spiiike..."Twilight sighs heavily. "SPIKE!"

CRASH!

"Spike?"

"I'm okay. It's just a scratch." He replies running down the stairs tripping down the last few steps.

Twilight sighs."Spike, don't you remember what today is?"

"Uh, should I?"

"Of course you should why wouldn't you? It's your eighteenth birthday today."

"You're right, I almost forgot. Thanks, Twi..."Before Spike could finish his sentence a green flame shoots out of his mouth revealing a scroll."Twilight, It's a message from the Princess."

"Ooh.. What does it say?" A voice says excitedly from behind both Twilight and Spike.

They both jump as the Pink mare pops up inbetween them.

"Pinkie Pie, how did you get in here?" Twilight asks as the Pink mare begins jumping around the dazed and confused dragon.

"Easy, I just opened the front door silly."

"Strange, I told Spike to lock it last night after he got home from Sweet Apple Acres. You did lock it last night didn't you?" Twilight asks the purple and green dragon now covered in confetti by the Pink mare.

"Sorry Twilight I must have forgotten. Anyways, lets see what the Princess's letter says. Uh, Twilight? I think that you should read this."

Twilight walks over to Spike slowly not sure she wants to know what the letter says.

Spike never acts this strange when we recieve a letter from the Princess. I wonder what's bothering him?

When she reaches Spike she reads the letter carefully unaware of the four figures stepping out from the shadows behind her.As Spike tries to stifle a laugh at what is going to happen Twilight is about to ask him what's so funny when the four figures yell

"SUPRISE!" The four mares yell at the same time startling Twilight.

As Twilight slowly turns around they can see that she has a worried look on her face.Their expressions quickly turn from happy to worried. With the exception of Pinkie Pie of course.

"T-twilight, did we really startle you that much?"

"No, it's not that it's just that we all have to report to Canterlot immediately.

They all shoot saddened looks over to their dragon friend.

"Don't worry guys. We can celebrate my eighteenth birthday tomorrow."

As the the six mares gallop off to the train station Spike sighs to himself.

Maybe the Cutie Mark Crusaders have something to do.

As Spike walks out of the library he doesn't seem to notice the blue unicorn watching him from the balcony.

They wont see a thing coming... My fake letter from Celestia actually fooled them! I can't believe how they can be such Idiots! Now while Twilight Sparkle is gone in Canterlot I will take the one thing that she holds dear and near to her heart. Her 'Number one assistant' Spike the dragon. The great and powerful Trixie shall have her revenge!

As Spike gets closer to the CMC clubhouse he hears some rustling in the bushes next to him.

"Hello? Is anypony there? I guess not, I must be losing my mind."

"Actually, you are about to lose quite the opposite."A familiar voice says from the bushes.

Spike quickly turns around just in time to see Trixie walk out from behind the bushes with her horn glowing softly.

What?! how did she know I was here? How did she know the girls would be out of town?

"Trixie, what the buck are you doing here?"

Trixie smiles deviously at Spike. She breathes in his scent. She can smell his fear. She doesn't know how to explain it, but ever since the first encounter with Twilight she has been able to smell other pony's fear. She loves the smell of their fear. It makes her feel ...powerful

"Oh, you know just the regular stuff. Taking care of some 'Unfinished' business in Ponyville."

What could she mean by unfinshed business? I really wish Princess Celestia hadn't sent me that letter. I guess she's not herself. She didn't even use the Celestia Seal of Approval.

Spike realizes that Trixie had sent him the letter. This was all part of her twisted, wicked plan. Probably for what happened last time they met.As Spike opens up his mouth to yell for help Trixie seizes the oppurtunity to shoot Spike with a bolt of focused energy.

"Hey, Scootaloo what are you doing up there?" Sweetie Belle asks the orange pegasi from the ground floor.

"Nothin' much. I saw Twilight and her friends leave the library a few hours ago and now I see Spike walking towards the club.." But befor Scootaloo can finish her sentence they hear a scream coming from the front of the clubhouse. When they look to see who it is they see Spike on the ground bleeding from his side and Trixie standing over him with a demonic look in her eyes. Apple Bloom is the first one to react to the scene unfolding in front of them.

"Somepony, anypony, HELP!"

When they look back up Trixie is gone but Spike is still on the ground unconscious from the bolt of energy.They all rush foward along with some other pony's who heard the commotion from the main road. Among those in the crown of gatherers is a blue unicorn slowly walking away from the scene.
