Tragic Times

Twilight was already sad enough as it is. She didn't need to hear the news that Trixie didn't make it through surgery. When Twilight had destroyed that necklace, what had Twilight been feeling for her.

N-No, It couldn't be. But what if I did? Would she have felt the same way about me? She sighs heavily walking towards the morgue to pay her last respects.

As she enters the morgue she notices a few other ponies in there. When they see her they frown and leave. They all leave except for one mare with a sparkly cutie mark. Seeing the state that she was in. She was almost as bad as Twilight at the time. Twilight decided to console her.

The mare didnt seem to see Twilight walking over to her with a warm, friendly smile on her face. She jolted upright when she felt a hoof on her shoulder. When the mare looked up at her with tear's in her eyes something she had forgotten revealed itself to her.

Scarlet red mane, Dark purple coat, Dark purple eyes.

Twilight nearly fainted when she realized who was in front of her. she was the mare that Spike had fallen in love with. The mare seemed to notice something strange anout Twilight and asked if she was alright.

"I-I'm fine, just a minor headache nothing really." She answered grinning.

"Are you sure? 'Cause I can easily get you some pain killers. It wouldn't be that big of a problem."

"Yes i'm sure."Twilight said

I can see what Spike see's in her

"Can I ask you a question miss...?"

"Starshine, Starshine Sparkle." The nurse unicorn replied. "And yes, you can ask me a question."

"D-Do you know a dragon named Spike?"Twilight asked sheepishly.

Starshine gasped. This was the unicorn who hatched Spike?! She needed to help her in anyway she could. She needed to get Spike back again. "Y-Your Twilight Sparkle?" Starshine asks Twilight.

"Yes I am, but how did you know?" Twilight asked confused

"I heard your friends talk about me when they said they were going to search for the one who could save Spike. Me and Spike had been friends for a month now. If I knew he shared the same feelings for me as I shared for him. I would have asked him out weeks ago." Starshine said sadly. Tear's coming back to her eyes again.

As Starshine told Twilight of how she and Spike had met, Due to Spike's new wings he ended in her office more than once. They had just been making small talk when her coltfriend had broken up with her. He saw how sad she was and comforted her as best as he could. After that ehy had quickly become friends. They started hanging out more, outside of the hospital, and he even introduced them to the Cutie Mark Crusaders. One day when all of them were talking about their parents and their family. She seemed distant. After their friends left, he asked what was wrong. Why she didn't want to mention her family. She had told him that her parents died when she was very young. She had just recently been adopted by the mare's Octavia and Vinyl. Which suprised Spike alot. He then told her that even when the odd's are against you he would always be there for her. That was the moment she realized she loved him. She had blushed slightly. Which had made him blush also. She actually hadn't found out that he was in the hospital until recently.

"And that's how me and Spike met." She sighed. "I just wish I could have spent more time with him."

"Well, Starshine. I believe today is your lucky day. We are going to save Spike." Twilight said with a smile on her face.

Starshine suddenly perked up and smiled brightly at Twilight."Really? But how will we save him? We don't even know where he is!"

"That isn't a problem. I know where he is. Or where he would go at a time like this."

"Where would he go?"

"The only place you two really bonded. The Cutie Mark Crusaders club house." Twilight said happily.

With a slight nod of her head Twilght and Starshine started galloping towards the clubhouse. They were going to try to save Spike...No, they are going to save Spike. Twilight looked over at Starshine. She looked like she was determined and ready to take on whatever faced her. Twilight was glad to have her by her side. Otherwise she wouldn't have been able to do this. They just need to pick the girls up on their way to the CMC clubhouse. Something big was coming...

A/N: sorry for the short chapter. I kind of ran out of ideas for this one, and I know some of you are probably wondering why didn't Twilight pay her respects to Trixie? Because saving Spike was more important to her than saying goodbye one last time. The next chapter will be called Darkness Part 2. Get ready!
