A New Life and a New Home.

The next morning Twilight and the gang were at the library along with the CMC, much to the protests of Applejack and Rarity.

"But we were meant to get ah cutie marks in monster huntin'." said Applebloom looking disappointed, as were the other two young fillies.

"Fine, you can come but you MUST be careful and not wonder off!" exclaimed AJ , putting emphasis on the  word "must".

The three girls cheered happily and bounced around in their little capes when a knock came at the door. Twilight answered the door so fast there was a smoke Twilight left in her place. Twilight quickly opened the door to see Shining Armour, Cadence, Celestia and Luna.

"Ah hello everypony. Haven't you brought any guards with you?" Twilight asked with a hint of confusion.

"No, I'm afraid not. I  didn't want to make too much of a fuss by drawing attention to what we are doing."

"Err, too late princess."

The group turned around and saw that the town were crowding around them. The princesses shared a quick nod and decided it would be best if the ponies knew what was happening just in case something happened.

As Celestia cleared her throat the crowed fell silent. "Alright my little ponies. There has been a report about a creature in the woods." The crowed was full of gasps.

"This claim has not been proven true, nor has it been proven false, The elements, the captain of the royal guard, my sister and I will be going to verify these claims in order to be sure of your safety. There is no need to worry but be cautious when out after dark on your own." Luna continued where Celestia left off. With this said the group started their journey into the Everfree forest.

A few hours into the expedition Rarity was crying bloody murder about having mud on her hooves. As she calmed down she could see that Celestia and Cadence were trying to suppress a smirk but failing miserably

A few minutes later they heard foot steps, "What in tarnation do yah think that is?" Asked AJ with mild concern.

The group turned around to see that there was a class full of young fillies and colts heading towards their direction, at least fifteen of them. Princess Luna approached them and asked "Excuse us, but why hath thou followed us?"

After a minute of silence a small pink filly and a small grey filly came to the front and responded with "We wanted to see the monster. You let those dumb losers go with you." They said pointing a hoof at the CMC.

Princess Luna took on a look of slight annoyance. "My sister and I gave permission to these young fillies because they are related to the elements. We did not however give permission to you and your friends to come with us." She replied with a firm tone.

Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon backed down as the princess said this. "However," the princess added "Since you are already here, you might as well tag along. But be quiet and be sensible, we need no casualties out here."

The now larger group were heading through the woods when they heard a small rustling from some near by bushes.

"Do you think its the creature?" Asked Scootaloo. "Maybe, Scoots." Twilight responded. "Now everypony get ready for whatever could happen." The mane 6 got into a position between the bush and the children whereas Shining Armour was standing in front of the three princesses.

What jumped out startled everypony there, including the princesses. A large wolf with razor sharp teeth and fangs the size of daggers. Its fur was black with the odd streak of silver on its neck and back with a small white patch on the end of its tail. It started to circle the group as the children were encircled by older ponies ready to defend them.

"Don't attack yet." Shining ordered. "It might just be defending its young." At that moment another wolf with a very similar color scheme to the first jumped over the bush and joined in circling the group. A few feet away Pinkie Pie noticed a creature on two legs but couldn't make out any details. "Hey girls look."

The sudden out burst cause one of the wolfs to jump straight for pinkie. The group all shouted in horror at the same time "Pinkie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...................."

                                                                 (Miles' P.O.V)

Walking through the woods after the song had finished he was now listening to this

(daft punk: derezzed)

Miles loved that song, and he loved the Tron movies along with Daft Punk. Listening to the song he wondered round for around five minutes until the song had ended but he did not put on another. He had noticed two wolves near by but they hadn't noticed him.

"I bet if I follow them, I might be able to get some meat from what ever they kill." Granted, it wasn't the best plan he had ever had but it was the best one at the time.

Over the course of an hour, he had followed the wolves for a couple miles and kept his distance and had watched them kill and feed on small animals such as rabbits and squirrels. Eventually the wolves came across a burrow full of rabbits. The wolves managed to get most of them but he noticed two or three run back in the burrow from where they were eating. The wolfs got hold of a rabbit each and shook it until a snap was heard signing that its neck was broken. "Poor thing" Miles thought to himself. "But then again, survival of the fittest." He said looking down at himself.

"Wow, I need to lose some weight or I'm going to be next. Although, I have lost a little bit in the last couple days."

Miles, stayed perfectly still and limited his breathing as he heard the wolves walking towards a small cave that was near him.

As the wolves entered the cave he decided to set up a small fire on top of a hill surrounded by some bushes. Using some timber from a tree and his knife and a rock he managed to start a small fire. The process took around half an hour all together. "Not bad considering its my first time doing this." He said proudly but quietly.

With the fire started he decided to try and get one of the rabbits from the burrow. After ten minutes of struggling he finally had two medium sized rabbits caught and skinned on a stick. The next half an hour Miles had plenty of time to eat and think about what he had seen.

"I guess that it is real and not just a hallucination. I wonder how I'm meant to get home. Or do i even want to go.........no, they can all burn in hell. I'm going to live here in these woods for-" He was cut off by the sound of the wolves sniffing around and getting closer to him.

A sigh of relief left him as the wolves went the other way. "Maybe I can get more food if I follow them again."

An hour later Miles was out of breath and was slowly following the wolves to what sounded like a woman's voice. "Please let it be other people." He silently prayed.

He could hear a male voice, but couldn't quite catch what was being said as the wolves jumped over a bush into a large group of PONIES?!

The wolves started circling them but Miles wasn't too bothered since they weren't sentient being capable of thought and society.....that was, until he heard them talk and guard the young.  Miles took notice of this and saw one of them point at him and say something he couldn't quite catch.

At that moment one of the wolves jumped at her and pinned her to the ground as time seemed to slow down. Without thinking Miles had started running faster than he normally could thanks to the adrenalin in his system. As the wolf had Pinkie pinned to the ground the other one had managed to place itself  between them and the rest of the group. As the first wolf was about to bite into Pinkie's neck she looked up with tear filled eyes and saw a blur hit the wolf in the side taking it off her but not without some cuts in her legs from the claws.

The other wolf turned to see its partner laid on the floor unconscious with a gash on its right temple from hitting the floor. The group of ponies were in shock as they saw a creature on two legs standing above it with what appeared to be a small blade in its claws.  Shining Armour took the chance when the wolf was looking away to attack it with a quick magic blast to the side of its ribs.  Pinkie managed to get up and run to her friends past the wolf and into her friends comforting embrace.

The group surrounded the young fillies and colts by standing in between them and the wolf, knowing it would go for the younger ones. "Get back children!" Celestia ordered as the fillies and colts hid behind her. The wolf turned its attention from them to the creature stood by its friend. Licking its lips it approached slowly in order to intimidate the hairless monkey.

"Come one then!!!" Miles shouted at the wolf. The group on ponies including the Captain of the guard who was trying to keep posed let out a large gasp at hearing the creature shout at the wolf.

"What is that thing?" Asked Cadence. Before an answer could be given the wolf roared and jumped at Miles' neck.

Miles dodged most of the attack but was caught on the side of his face with a claw causing a gash next to his eye. Miles didnt notice due to all the adrenaline in his body. The wolf spun round and ran right at him. Miles looked at the group of ponies and saw the one he had just saved with a look of gratitude and worry across her face. He noticed her face turn to horror as she tried to say something but didn't get the chance as the wolf lunged at him and caught him off guard and took him to the floor.

As if it was instinctively, as soon as he was on his back he kicked his legs up and kicked the wolf off of him. Breathing a quick sigh of relief he quickly regained his poseur he looked around for the knife that was out of his hands and on the floor somewhere.

A quick look of  fear ran across his face before he saw his knife near the group. The wolf got up and ran at Miles again but missed as Miles had dodged around a tree. He looked at his knife just as the wolf rushed at him and jumped onto him pinning him to the floor. Miles struggled with all his strength but to no avail.

"SHIT!" He screamed as the wolf bit into his arm sinking his teeth in deep. "AAAH!!!" He screamed with the adrenaline starting to wear off. Miles shouted at the group of ponies to run. "AAAH!!" He screamed again as the teeth sank further into his arm digging into the bone. The ponies heeded his advice and retreated into the forest out of sight.  All except one.

Shining Armour stayed behind in order to cover the others. The captain of the royal guard charged into the wolf taking it into a tree and knocking it out for the count. Shining Armour turned around to see the human running for his blade only to be caught off guard by the now conscious wolf from before. Reaching out as far as his arm could stretch but could not reach his blade. "Come on." He said through gritted teeth with his hand mere inches from the knife with his other just managing to hold the wolf away from his face.

Shining took notice and ran to Miles' aid and levitated the knife into Miles' hand. In one quick motion the knife was in the side of the wolfs head and left a gaping hole in which blood and brains were flowing out of.  Struggling to his feet he managed to stand up right with the aid of Shining and his magic.

"What are you? If I may I ask..." He didnt get chance to finish as the wolf that was unconscious was now wide awake and angrier than ever. The wolf tackled him and left him with a large gash in his head.

Miles ran at the wolf and with the last of his strength and thrust his knife through the bottom of its jaw and through the roof of its mouth killing it instantly.

"Phew" He said letting the wolf fall to the floor and wiping his knife clean on a leaf. The peace didn't last long as Shining had collapsed from blood loss.

"Crap....."
