A New Life and a New Home.

After a while of being sat and hugging on the floor Miles had fallen asleep as it had gotten into the afternoon and he was exhausted mentally and physically whilst in the comfort of Celestia's embrace along with her steady heartbeat that reminded him of his mothers.

As it was time to raise the moon Luna stepped out onto a balcony to the side of the throne room to commence the daily ritual as she did every day. The rest of the group had left the room to do their own thing leaving the royal sisters along with Miles in the throne room. Celestia eventually had a guard carry Miles up to a spare bedroom and wait ready to lead him down once he had woken up not long after he fell asleep and was now reading through the castle library for any information on Humans that she may be able to find.

As the moon was raised Luna decided to join her sister in the royal library. The library was vast. Rows of books as far as the eye could see. The shelves were as high as the ceiling reaching around 30ft high. There were books on every subject from single celled organisms to the universe and everything in between.

"How is the search going, sister?" Asked the princess of the night.

"One book after another, and there is nothing even close to his species except from apes. How am i supposed to help him if we can't figure out what he is exactly? I have even had the guards check the Starswirl the bearded section and nothing is known about his species." Celestia told her sister in an exhausted voice.

"By the way, Tia, why did you do that back in the throne room? You would never do that for one of our other subjects." Luna asked with great curiosity.

"Whatever do you mean? When Twilight was young she often had her sad moments and I was always there to comfort her." She said looking through a book flicking through the pages with magic.

"But you would never do that one for anypony else." Luna replied

"I have to seem strong even in my weak moments because without a strong leader there will be nothing to rule as it will fall to chaos. And besides, you know what he has gone through, he has gone through so much he deserves at the very least to be comforted by anything that can offer it to him. And if I was the one who could help him then so be it." Celestia said with no change in pace from reading her books.

"Say what you will but I think the way you feel for him is more than just professional. I think you like him, be it for saving our lives or sympathy for his past or for whatever reason there could be." Celestia just looked away blushing slightly.

"I don't understand my feelings towards him. I need.... time." Celestia spoke softly. Suddenly the doors to the library opened to reveal a pink pony in a wheel chair being pushed by an orange pony with a blonde mane. "It's ready!" Pinkie exclaimed throwing her arms in the air only to retract them in pain from the sudden movement.

"Now didn't ah tell you to stop doing that. That must be the 5th time in as many minutes." AJ barked at Pinkie.

"Let the guards keep looking for a while and have them report their findings to us later. It's been so long since I have been to one of these." Luna said impatiently.

(Miles' P.O.V)

Miles slowly awoke to a strange room. "Where am I?" Miles thought to himself. Miles looked around the room, it wasn't much, just a bed and a fireplace along with a small wooden table. Miles casually walked over to a window to see it was night, "Wow, the stars are so beautiful. It's like nothing I've ever seen before." Miles said with admiration.

"I'm glad you like it." A voice came from behind him. "Aah!" Miles shouted out in surprise from the appearance of the dark princess. "Sorry, I didn't meant to scare you." Luna said with a cheeky grin.

"Your majesty" Miles said bowing down to show respect.

"You don't need to do that. You are here as a royal guest and therefor don't need to bow." Luna said with a cheerful tone.  "Now lets go. We need to show you something." Turning to the door she walked to the guard "Your services will no longer be required here. My sister and I would like you to help the other guards down in the library."

"Yes your majesty." The guard responded with a quick salute and was off down the hall.

"Now come. You need to see this." Luna said turning her attention to Miles. Miles only nodded and followed the princess of the night down the hall. The castle was huge, corridors longer than what they eye could see and rooms bigger than houses, it was truly immense.

Walking towards a large door he heard music and talking on the other side.  "I have a pretty good idea of what is going on in the next room. I don't like being the center of attention. But thanks anyway." Miles said as he turned to walk off down the hall.

What Miles did not expect was to be picked up in a blue aura and be carried back to the door. "Now now. Your friends put a lot of effort into this. And besides, there are some ponies here that wish to meet you." Miles looked down at the floor. "Is something wrong?" Luna asked.

"I'm just not used to the fact that I now have someone that I can call a friend, never mind a bunch of them. And, I'm sorry for being thoughtless as to the effort that this would have taken to prepare for me." Miles looked into her eyes.

"Think nothing of it." Luna said as she lowered him onto the floor and opened the door. "By the way, we will have to sort out those clothes of yours, they are torn and dirty. They still even have blood on them." Luna added walking through the door.

As Miles walked through the door he saw at least 2 hundred ponies stood around drinking,eating,talking and socializing in any way all stop and turn to look at him.  Pinkie wheeled up with AJ in tow and was welcomed to the party. "Surprise! Do you like it? Huh huh huh?" Pinkie was ecstatic.

"Yeah, it looks as if it would have taken ages to set all this up. How did you do this so quick?" Miles asked with a completely confused look on his face. "It just takes a little effort, and besides, when you have friends with magic, you get stuff done quick. Also, I have a cannon full of party gear." Pinkie said as if it was a common thing.

"Wait, a cannon....." Miles was interrupted as Celestia and the rest of the mane six walked up to him and welcomed him to the party.

Miles turned to see a couple hundred ponies looking at him with various looks ranging from disgust to admiration. One pony in particular, a white unicorn with blue hair walked up to him and looked him up and down taking in every detail from the hair on his head to the bandages on his right arm and the blood on his clothes. After a quick look up and down the unicorn stuck out his front right hoof.  The hall was silent, you could hear a pin drop a mile away with everypony looking with nervous faces as to how the creature could react.

Miles moved his arm and took hold of the hoof. Everypony in the hall gasped and flinched expecting the worst.

"How do you do? My name is Miles." Miles said with vigor shaking the hoof up and down.

"Er, um, Fancy Pants." Fancy replied trying to recompose himself. Everyone in the  sighed in relief.

"Excuse me, Miles? I don't mean to be rude or impolite but why are you not dressed in formal attire? And may I ask, what happened to your arm?" Fancy asked inquisitively

"Oh this? it's nothing." Miles said dismissing the subject.

"It was not nothing." Rainbow shouted out. "You saved our lives and got injured during it. I think you earned bragging rights." She added hovering next to him and putting a hoof over his shoulder.

"I don't like to brag or boast, Rainbow." Miles said.

"Well, this is a treat, heroic and modest. That is very rare to come across indeed." Fancy said as the crowed nodded their heads in agreement.

"Thank you." Miles nodded as the party continued and everyone went on their way. "I have no need to brag. I did a good deed and that's that." Miles turned his focus to Rainbow who flew off in order to avoid the subject.

As the party went on Miles was congratulated for his bravery and thanked for saving the foals and the princesses. Even the parents of the children were invited and came so they could thank him personally. Miles was enjoying the night.

The night was going well until a white unicorn with a blonde mane showed up. "Who do you think you are?!" Asked the angry unicorn.

"Who am I? I should ask the same question since you're the one that came up to me." Miles answered without raising his voice.

The unicorn's voice was gathering a crowed as the music stopped. "You are not worthy of being here. You are a hairless ape and should be treated as one!" He shouted as guards converged on Miles and the unicorn.

"Prince BlueBlood. You are causing a fuss. cease at once!" One of the guards shouted.

"You, a royal guard are telling me, a prince, what to do? I am in charge here, my aunts are not here as they are doing royal business which means i am in command here. And I say step away." Blueblood ordered in an arrogant tone as the guards stepped back.

Shining had a very annoyed look on his face due to the fact he could not intervene. Cadence also shared this look along with Rainbow,Rarity,Fluttershy,Twilight,Pinkie and AppleJack. Miles Just walked away from the prince only to be called upon once again from Blueblood. "And where do you think you are going? I'm not done with you!" He snorted.

"I figured out why you don't like me. It isn't because I am like a hairless ape or because of the clothes i'm in. It's because the folk here were paying attention to me and not you. I saw you when i came in, you were the only one with a look of disgust upon their face." Miles said still walking away form the now angry prince only to be hit in the back by a large spell attack.

"What was that for?! I tried to avoid violence and causing too much of a scene, but you just can't help yourself, can you?" Miles shouted at the prince who looked like he could kill the next thing to bug him.

"I will have no problem hurting you, you violent monstrosity! I know that you are violent, we all do. Fight back!" Blueblood screamed at the top of his lungs causing the crowed to back up a bit.

"I will not! I fight for defense of myself and others! I will not succumb to your lame attempt to make me violent and be cast out from the only place that has accepted me!" Miles roared back just as Celestia and Luna walked back through the door.

Celestia was about to shout for them to stop before it got out of hand but stopped was in her tracks in how Miles had tried to deflect the situation from violence. Luna followed her sister's actions and stayed quiet wanting to see how Miles would react to these attacks, both verbal and physical. Shining on the other hand was ready to strike should things get more physical despite Blueblood's orders.

Miles noticed the princesses in the corner of his eyes, he was about to explain himself when he heard a scream from Blueblood and saw him charging at him with his horn aimed straight for him.

"Shit!" Miles shouted as the prince got close. As the charging stallion neared Miles jumped on the spot letting the prince run straight under him. Miles turned to see a white ball of magic fly incredibly close to his face right past him. Celestia had had enough and was about to put an end to Blueblood's assault on Miles who was looking back and forth between Blueblood and Celestia for any sign of what to do.

"Stop! I don't want to hurt you, but I will if you continue. You are not only putting me at risk but you are putting the rest of the ponies here at risk too." Miles said calmly. Celestia nodded at Miles as a sign of approval.

"Who cares? They are peasants and aren't worth the gold their jewelry is made from." Blueblood said in a smug tone much to everyone's shock.  Celestia was appalled at what her nephew had said. Her own family, her blood, saying something like that.

"I. Will. Kill. You." Blueblood said through gritted teeth.

"Bring it. I have had enough with you! You put others at risk for childish reasons and don't care for the consequences!" Miles  shouted back.

Blueblood's horn started to glow as a spell charged ready to end Miles where he stood. Everyone was in shock, their hero was about to die  in front of them and there was nothing they could do. Celestia stood up to assert her dominance and end the argument when Miles called out,  "Let me deal with him. He has endangered innocent lives and I wont stand for it." Miles shouted.  Celestia only nodded and returned to her seat.

"You would place these commoners before yourself? You really are a fool." Said Blueblood with the spell charging. Without warning Blueblood charged at him again. For everyone in the room time seemed to slow down as Blueblood's horn was inches off of Miles' chest and getting closer. Miles step aside and as the charging prince ran past he reached out and grabbed his horn. Blueblood shouted "Let go of me you cretin. Guards! Assist me at once!" The guards only shook their heads at the screaming prince.

Without much effort Miles started spinning on the sport and lifted Blueblood off of the floor and swung him around his head like when doing the hammer throw and launched him across the room into a wall. As the projectile prince impacted the wall his spell released and was aimed straight for Miles' chest. The crowed all watched i horror knowing what was about to happen.

Miles only muttered 2 words as the ball of magic sped towards him.

"Oh fuck."
