Prologue
Load Full StoryNext ChapterStarlight was in the Castle of Friendship crying, it's become a habit by now, Trixie and her used to have such a happy marriage and Trixie was nothing but a sweetheart at first but when Trixie kept touring more and more every where that is when things began taking a turn for the worst, they hardly saw each other, Trixie became even more self absorbed and made everything about herself and there was constant bickering and fighting.
"We used to be so happy." Starlight said in tears holding a picture of her and Trixie hugging.
Then Trixie came back in the front door making Starlight frustrated. Starlight walked up to Trixie and began lecturing her
"Where have you been?!" Starlight asked Trixie annoyed she was home so late.
"Relax Your Whininess, I wasn't gone that long." Trixie responded annoyed at Starlight's attitude.
"It has been 3 hours I was worried sick." Starlight yelled annoyed.
"Ugh relax, I'm here now, you're such a worrywart." Trixie slurred wrapping a hoof around Starlight.
Starlight then sniffed the air and began smelling alcohol and began glaring at Trixie.
"Trixie have you been drinking again?" Starlight asked with rage.
"Noooooooooooooo." Trixie lied rolling her eyes.
"Bullshit I can smell the alcohol from here, Trixie you know this isn't a good habit." Starlight spoke with concern.
"Ugh sorry mom, but Trixie is a grown mare and shall do as she fucking pleases you bitch." Trixie told Starlight annoyed making Starlight run out of the room crying.
Trixie hearing those cries then held her head in shame she truly loved Starlight but she was constantly treating her like a foal and she hated it, she began drinking and she knew it was a bad habit but she could not stop doing it, it felt so good.
After a few hours Trixie and Starlight got ready for bed and Starlight began to talk to Trixie.
"Trixie." Starlight began solemnly.
"What did I do now?" Trixie whined at Starlight making the latter rage.
"Look we can't keep going on like this, the fighting, the bickering, the lies, we can't go on like this anymore." Starlight spoke in an upset tone.
"I agree but what can we do? We tried Marriage Counseling but they only recommended we have a divorce and you don't want that." Trixie solemnly said.
"Actually, I think that's what we need."
Trixie pondered the idea for a moment. "Yeah, I agree."
"No we do. We-" Starlight stopped. Wait, did you just agree with me?"
"Yeah, I did for once. We're so different now, and we just aggravate each other and Trixie cannot stand it anymore."
"Yeah. Well, it's settled then." Starlight finished
"Yeah." Trixie said awkwardly.
"Well, goodnight then." Starlight spoke with sadness.
"Hey Starlight-" Trixie began to ask.
"Yes you can. The guest room." Starlight spoke with a bored tone.
"Fine." Trixie growled, grabbing a blanket and pillow.
"Oh and Trixie." Starlight called out.
Ÿes Starlight." Trixie asked annoyed.
"You're going to file for the divorce, okay." Starlight ordered softly.
"Got it." Trixie said bitterly.
And off to bed they went. Even though neither wanted to divorce, they knew it'd be for the best.
The next morning, Trixie was first to wake up. At first, he was confused about where she woke up, but then remembered last night.
"Oh yeah."
As she made his way to the guest bathroom, he walked by Starlight's room to see if she was awake, which she was not. She stood there for a few minutes which made her think, maybe the divorce is a bad idea.
"It's for the best." she muttered to himself.
After all if the divorce is what would make Starlight happy then she would be happy too no matter how much it hurt.
As she made his way to the bathroom, she thought about the days plans. She had to pack her things, go to Canterlot to tell Twilight about the divorce, and make it back to her caravan before night. She had a long day ahead of her. As she began to wash up, Starlight woke up, also confused as to why she was alone, until she too realized why. She walked over to the mirror and looked at herself. She had make-up smeared along her eyes from crying herself to sleep.
"Sigh I can't believe it came to this." Starlight told herself, she didn't want to have a divorce but she knew she had no choice besides both her and Trixie would be happier this way.
Starlight decided to make some waffles for her and Trixie as she knew Trixie liked those.
When Trixie finished her shower, she smelled something cooking.
"What in the world?" She walked out of the bathroom and ran downstairs to the kitchen.
"What do you think you're doing?" She said to Starlight, making Trixie's plate.
"What does it look like? I made food. Have some." Starlight offered nicely.
"Really why?" Trixie asked surprised and a bit touched.
"What? I can't make my soon-to-be ex-wife breakfast before we make this divorce official?" Starlight asked angrily with hot tears.
"Are you upset about a divorce? You agreed to it." Trixie asked in remorse.
Starlight realized Trixie was catching on so she decided to lie and wiped her tears away.
"Yeah I did, and I regret nothing." Starlight lied through her teeth.
"Whatever." Trixie said in a bored tone, taking her plate of food and walking into the dining room.
Trixie then got ready to head to Twilight's castle in Canterlot to file for a divorce she was sad but she knew this was for the best. Starlight saw her off.
"So we're really doing this?" Starlight asked sadly.
"Yes The Great and Apoligetic Trixie hopes we will still be friends." Trixie said mournfully.
"Of course Trixie we will still be friends no matter what." Starlight reassured with happiness wrapping a hoof around Trixie making both blush until Starlight hastily removed her hoof from Trixie.
"Well I should go." Trixie said nervously.
"Okay bye Trixie." Starlight waved off sadly.
