Princess Twilight was sifting through paperwork, ever since becoming Princess of Equestria, her list of duties had just increased tenfold, she had to raise the sun and moon, deal with dignitaries and attend events during the day, then had to visit the dream realm during the night. She wished that Celestia and Luna hadn't retired, but she understood that after a few thousand years of being the only monarchs in Equestria, they might want to move on and shift their duties onto somepony else, but that didn't mean she found it easy to deal with. Spike was always eager to help, but there was only so much he could do, especially considering he had his own duties as ambassador of friendship to the dragon lands, she would call upon her friends, but they all had their own lives to lead, she couldn't bother them over every little difficult task. She had defeated villains and battled monsters and she couldn't handle paperwork?! She knew she had the right to feel stressed, but it just seemed so small compared to all the challenges she had been faced with ever since she moved to Ponyville, now she was living in Canterlot with an unending list of royal duties.

When she was done with the paperwork however, the next task on the list Spike had prepared for before leaving for some kind of friendship negotiation meeting, was much more interesting. It involved travel, but not just any travel, her next duty was to return to the human realm to study the equines that existed in their world. According to Sunset Shimmer, they were very very different and Twilight had made it a goal to, at some point, study them in the flesh. Shortly after her ascension to the throne, Twilight had the mirror moved to Canterlot Castle and guarded at all times in case something or someone with malevolent intent came out of or tried to go into the portal. Twilight figured now was as good a time as any to visit the human world and study what kind of horses existed there.
