Diabolical Plans and Disappearances

School, as usual, went by slower than a tortoise. But after six grieving hours, not including recess breaks, the bell wrang, signaling the end of the school day, and the beginning of the weekend. Every child in the classroom ran out, leaving behind a trail of ripped paper and many other random school supplies.

"Thank Celestia, the janitor has to deal with this mess." Cheerile giggled.

She didn't even notice that he was standing in the doorway. He snorted in anger and walked away.

"So gang, how we goin' ta get our cutie marks this time?" Apple Bloom asked.

"Well, we could always get ours in explosions!" Scootaloo replied.

"Scootaloo," Sweetie Belle asked. "Why is it that you always pick the most extreme things for us to do?"

"Because, I don't want to get my cutie mark in something....girly...." she shuttered.

Apple Bloom chuckled. "Yer' a girl, ya'll know that right?"

"I may be a girl," Scootaloo said. "But that doesn't mean I have to act like one!"

"So you're a lesbian?" Sweetie Belle asked.

"What? No! I'm a tomboy!" the pegasus roared.

"What's the difference?" Apple Bloom asked.

Scootaloo grumbled. This was going to be a loooong weekend.

Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon watched the crusaders from a distance. Putting her binoculars down, Diamond began to speak.

"You got everything ready?" she asked.

"Yeah." Silver Spoon replied. "But I have a question."

Diamond nodded her head, approving the grey filly to speak.

"What kind of prank involves duct tape, Celestia Cheerios,  mane-aise, chicken feathers. and glue?" she asked.

"Only the cruelest of pranks." Diamond replied, grinning.

"Here they come!" Silver Spoon alerted.

"Quick! Hide!" Diamond whispered.

Once the fillies found a good hiding place; Diamond Tiara behind a bush while Silver Spoon ten feet away; they watched as the Cutie Mark Crusaders came walking down the trail. With a rope in one hoof, Diamond watched as the three fillies walked right in front of them.

Instantly, she released the rope from her grip.

A bucket filled with mane-aise, hanging from a tree and connected to the rope, fell. The CMC looked up just in time, as a loud splattering sound was heard. As Diamond Tiara opened her eyes, she saw that the three fillies were spot clean. She then realized where the bucket had landed.

Right on top of her.

"Ha!" all three crusaders yelled.

"Wha-what?" Diamond Tiara asked, birds circling her head.

"You actually thought we wouldn't know that you were going to do something to us after school?" Scootaloo asked.

"H-how did you find out?" Diamond asked, her dizziness subsiding.

"Dinky told us." Sweetie Belle exclaimed.

Diamond Tiara then realized the fatal mistake she had made: discussing their evil plan on the playground equipment.

"Stupid school." Diamond muttered.

"Hey! What happened?" Silver Spoon asked, walking into the scene.

"Oh, nothin'." Apple Bloom said. "All except fer the fact that Diamond Tiara just got pranked by her own prank!"

The yellow filly burst out laughing. Diamond Tiara just frowned. She then realized what she was covered with.

"Yuck!" the spoiled brat yelled. "I'm covered with horse!"

"What?" the four fillies asked.

Diamond Tiara realized what she had just said. "Umm, never mind. When I get home, I'm so telling my daddy on you!"

"Heh, let's see you try." Scootaloo said.

Diamond Tiara just 'hmphed' at her as she and Silver Spoon walked away.

"Ha! That was hilarious!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed.

"Yep. It sure was." Apple Bloom replied.

As the three fillies walked home, they finally reached Sweet Apple Acres.

"Alright gang. This is where I leave. See ya'll tomorrow!" Apple Bloom said.

"Alright, bye." Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo said as they walked away.

Apple Bloom opened the front door of her home, still snickering from the incident earlier.

"Hey ya'll, I'm home!" Apple Bloom yelled as she entered.

No response.

"Hello?" Apple Bloom asked.

Still no response.

"Applejack?" Apple Bloom asked.

Nothing.

"Big Mac?"

Still nothing.

"Granny?"

Absolutely quiet.

Apple Bloom was starting to get scared now.

"H-hello?" she asked, now shaking.

She slowly entered the kitchen. The dishes from their breakfast were still in the sink. They were washed, indicating that the house had only been empty for a while.

"Heh, mabye....mabye their jus' out getting groceries, that's all." Apple Bloom managed to say. "But wait....Wionna would be here, greeting me by now."

The filly looked outside the window; no sign of the dog. She cautiously walked around the house, hearing nothing but silence and the ticking of a grandfather clock.

"Anypony?" she tried once again. Nothing.

Right as she tried to go outside, she heard a noise come from upstairs. It sounded like a loud knock.

Apple Bloom quickly turned her head towards the staircase. The only thing to do was to go up it. Going outside wouldn't do anything. What if there was a robber up there? She couldn't let him steal anything. She was a Cutie Mark Crusader! She wouldn't back down from anything! Mabye she would get her cutie mark in saving the day!

The filly slowly began to escend the stairs.

As she got closer to the top, she heard another noise. It sounded like talking.

The child stopped dead in her tracks. The possibility of a robber being in the house was now almost realistic. She pondered whether to keep going and possibly be killed or get out of the house and get help. But it was too late to go back now, she was halfway to the top. Apple Bloom took a deep breath and continued to the top.

The talking got louder, as did the ticking of the clock. In fact, every single, solitary noise was getting louder and louder to Apple Bloom. Every step she took, the louder the noises got. She tracked the talking to her own room. She got closer, and the noises got louder. By the time she was right in front of the room, the noises were now a high-pitched cluster of sounds that pierced the filly's sensitive ears. Finally, taking a deep breath, she quickly opened the door.

That's when the noises stopped.
