Spike was so busy he needed to go ring shopping, yes you read that right he was going ring shopping because he was going to propose to Starlight Glimmer his marefriend.

Ever since he got over Rarity he began seeing Starlight in a different light and he was overjoyed when Starlight revealed she felt the same way. They’ve been seeing each other for a year now but Spike was proposing since one they were both about to become middle aged and two he feels like they’ve known each other long enough so it wouldn’t matter.

Spike then went and purchased a diamond ring he wasn’t planning on eating it since it was a special ring for Starlight. He was so grateful Twilight volunteered to distract Starlight because now he had ample time to break the news to his friends.

The Mane 5 were at Sugarcube Corner waiting for Spike to show up as he requested them all to meet here.

Spike then walked through the door and the girls were happy to see him.

“Girls I have a question do you think it would be the right time to propose to Starlight?” Spike asked nervously.

The girls widened their eyes and their mouths were agape, Pinkie Pie then began speaking.

“Oh my gosh Spike is proposing to Starlight Glimmer AHHHHHHHHHHHH.” Pinkie Pie squealed happily.

“Awesome dude, glad your finally proposing.” Rainbow Dash praises giving the dragon a playful noogie.

“We’re so proud of you.” Fluttershy said hugging the dragon.

“So that would be a yes?” Spike asked with a happy grin.

“Sure is Spike. We’re happy you’re finally setting down.” Applejack said proudly.

“Um if I may ask what ring did you choose?” Rarity asked with curiousness.

Spike then showed them the ring, it was beautiful it had reflecting crystals and everything.

“It’s so beautiful, Starlight is a lucky mare.” Rarity said happily.

“You ain’t jealous are ya?” Applejack asked skeptically.

“Of course not darling, I have Thunderlane.” Rarity said with sincerity.

Spike then put the ring in his box he then saw Discord poof in.

“Oh hi there I heard screams of excitement and I wanted to see what was going on.” Discord said in a scheming tone.

“Well I’m not telling you’ll have to wait until AFTER I do the big surprise.” Spike angrily instructed.

“What? Why not?” Discord pouted with puppy dog eyes.

“Because you can’t keep a secret.” Spike said angrily.

“So not true.” Discord argued “I may blab a lot but I swear I won’t tell we’re pals remember come on please.”

“Fine I’m proposing to Starlight.” Spike admitted with reluctance and annoyance.

“HA! Yes Trixie owes me ten bits I am so-“ Discord began before seeing Spike’s glare.

“Going to rub it in her face AFTER you propose.” Discord continues bashfully.

“Thank you, now if you’ll excuse me I have a mare to propose to.” Spike said walking off.

Spike then walked over to Twilight’s castle and took a deep breath in and out it was time for his proposal to Starlight.

Starlight was with Twilight reading about magic when the two saw Spike come in, Twilight resisted the urge to squeal given she knew what was gonna happen next.

“Hey Spike where have you been I haven’t seen you all day.” Starlight asked innocently.

“All will be answered in a minute but first.” Spike said before kneeling down with a smile on his face.

Twilight then covered her mouth and Starlight was shocked and blushed seeing him pull out a tiny box with a ring on it.

“Starlight Glimmer, this past year has been the best year of my life thanks to you, and so I ask this Starlight Glimmer will you marry me?” Spike asked with tears of joy.

Starlight then had tears on her eyes and a big smile on her face and embraced the dragon.

“Yes Spike of course I’ll marry you.” Starlight said crying with tears of joy.

Twilight then squealed and then began babbling “Yes I knew this day would come oh wait till Shining Armor and Cadence hear this oh so much to do and so much to plan where will we have the wedding? Who will be the bridesmaids who will-“

Spike then shushed Twilight and said “I don’t know yet but I will plan for the wedding but for now let’s just be happy.”

“Okay.” Twilight said blushing in embarrassment and hugging both Starlight and Spike.

Discord watching from above then said “Good they’re getting married, time to rub it in Trixie’s face that they proposed in Spring instead of Summer ha ha.”
