Applejack was recovering from what she was just told.
"In love? ME? No way." Said Applejack.
"But you are." Said Suger Bell I can tell.
"But I can't be in love." Said Applejack.
"Why not?" Asked Grand Pear.
"I just, I don't know I've never been in love.'' Said Applejack.
Granny Smith and Grand pear both sighed.
"Applejack, take it from 2 old-timers. When you feel love you need to go after it." Said Grany Smith.
"But what if he doesn't feel the same? Or is seeing somepony else?" Asked Applejack.
"Unless you try and ask you will never know." Said Gran pear. "And the longer you wait the sooner and or more likely some other girl will come and catch his eye."
"Come on Applejack at least try." Said Applebloom.
"OK, I will try next time I see him." Said Applejack as they all cheered.
The next day.
Applejack was in town again, her family was watching in secret as Applejack approached Burnt oak's stand. She saw the old pony finishing up some work. He saw her and smiled.
"Hey Applejack, what brings you here?" Asked Burnt Oak.
"Oh just stuff, how's things?" Asked Applejack.
Her family facepalmed or in their case hooved themselves.
"I don't see Tex what's he doing?" Asked Applejack unable to think of anything else.
"Oh he had to head home for a bit, but he will be back later." Said Burnt Oak. "Your welcome to stick around till then."
"I reckon I will." Said Applejack. "Hey if y'all don't mind me asking? Who is Tex's mom?"
"Her name is cotton candy." Said Burnt oak with a smile. "She was the most beautiful mare I ever laid my eyes on. She was as sweet as real cotton candy and great making it." He brought out a picture of himself as a younger pony with a unicorn mare with a light pink coat, white mane and tail, and purple eyes. Her cutie mark was a few bits of cotton candy.
"She's pretty, but where is she?" Asked Applejack.
"Visiting her parents, I hope she can come back soon would love for you to meet her." Said Burnt Oak.
"I'm sure you will soon." Said Burnt Oak as he went back to work. Applejack offered to help for a bit as she waited.
She stacked up a few piles of lumber a bit to high before a pile almost fell on her only for it to stop she looked to see Tex holding it up.
"Need to be careful not to stack these to high." Said Tex with a smile as he made the pile smaller.
"Thanks y'all a life saver." Said Applejack a little flustered.
Her family face hooved again.
"Hey son glad you made it back." Said Burnt Oak.
''Thanks dad.'' Said Tex as he hugged his father.
"Thanks for helping my dad out." Said Tex to Applejack.
"No prob I'm Applejack, tho you already know that." Said Applejack trying to find her words.
"Yeah from when we met the first time." Said Tex with a smile and raised eyebrow.
Applejack just gave a embarrassed giggle.
Her family kept watching
"While not perfect, at least it is not to bad." Said Sugar Belle.
"Yup." Said Big mac.
"Still so far so good." Said Applebloom.
"So long as she doesn't goof it up." Said Granny smith as they saw Applejack trip over her own hooves as her family sighed as Tex helped her up.
"Well, at least they talking." Said Grand pear.
"But I think some help is needed." Said Suger belle as they agreed and went up to them.
Applejack saw her family.
"Hey, what are y'all doing here?" Asked Applejack.
"Picking up some things." Said Granny smith "you know for the big harvest coming.''
"Oh yeah, the harvest. Ah forgot." Said Applejack as Burnt Oak came up.
"How're things going?" Asked Burnt oak.
"Just reminding Applejack of the harvest coming." Said Applebloom.
"Wish I could help, but I'm not as fit as I used to be." Said Burnt Oak.
"Funny you should mention help." Said Suger Belle.
"We were hoping your son could lend some aid?" Asked Granny Smith.
"I can ask, but I can guaranty anything." Said Burnt Oak. "I think he heading off for a bit to help some friends of his."
"Can't you try?" Asked Applebloom. Burnt Oak sighed. "OK, WHats the real reason you want his help?" Asked Burnt Oak with a raised eyebrow and serious look.
"Well OK here's the truth." Began Granny smith. "We can tell Applejack likes your boy, and we thought if we had him helping with the harvest and spend time with Applejack."
"Him and her might start dating." Said Applebloom.
"Yup." Said Big mac.
"So you are trying to play matchmaker?" Asked Burnt Oak as they all nodded as Burnt Oak sighed. "Look I will see what I can do, I can not guarantee anything but I will try." Said Burnt Oak as the apples and grand pear accepted it.
Burnt Oak went up to Tex as he finished with the work.
''All done dad, anything else you need help with?" Asked Tex.
"Not really, but you know Applejack and her family could use a bit of help on their farm, they got a big harvest coming and you would be a big help." Said Burnt Oak.
"I don't mind helping, but I am not cut out for farm life dad." Said Tex. "I don't think I'd be any good or help with them. Plus we talked i have things I need to do. I promised my friends that I'd help with some things. I also promised grandma and grandma I'd come to visit I have not visited them in over a month and I said I would."
"I know and I am proud of how serious you take keeping promises." Said Burnt Oak as he hugged his son. "But if you have time could you pop by to see the harvest is a bit over a week away."
"OK, Dad if I have time I will try to stop by and see if I can help them I promise." Said Tex.
"That's my boy." Said Burnt Oak.
"I have to go now, dad. See you later." Said Tex as he left just as he said goodbye to Applejack.
Burnt Oak looked a the apples with a smile as they did the same.

Hope all have enjoyed it's my first story here and I am still finding my footing here so please be gentle with me. Also, i have turned on comments sorry was still finding my footing.
Also I am also doing a fanfic on fanfiction net with this character and the two are linked so you might have to read the other. Tho it is only a few chapters now there are future chapters with Tex and his dad coming.
