Chapter 9: Shadows Follow

"Andrew?" Alex asked.

"Oh... I'm not Andrew..." The entity said, "I'm you..."

Alex was first confused, until the silhouette came out of the darkness, revealing it was Alex! Except his skin looked gray, his eyes were red, his hair had a black, and his clothes were in a purple instead of green and blue.

"Wh-what?" Alex looked at this weird imposter. "Who even are you?!"

"I am you, Alex." The Evil Alex repeated itself. "From the future, that is..."

The Evil Alex then explained it's backstory. "When I was about to get pounced by those 11 ponies, I felt some sort of burning rage inside of me. I had enough of them. I felt nothing but... ANGER! But anger was the key to my freedom! I then suddenly caused a shockwave, causing those 11 ponies to fly away from me! I realized I had dark powers I had full control on. I could use them to defend myself. And now, look at me! I didn't need Andrew, or anybody!"

"Y-you're a monster! Wait... I'm a monster!" Alex exclaimed.

Future Alex chuckled. "That's why they call me NIGHTMARE ALEX. Anyways, the reason I'm in this timeline is so that I can make you no longer have to run from those wicked ponies, if you join me that is..." Nightmare Alex stuck out his hand, wanting Alex to join him. Alex was about to take Nightmare Alex's hand until he had a vision s Andrew appeared in front of him.

"Don't give up, Alex. I know you may run away a lot from danger, but you've done more than that. You've tricked the ponies before and set up traps. I know you're stronger than you think you are!" Andrew said calmly as he disappeared.

"Andrew?!" Alex said as he snapped back from reality. He then saw his hand was inches away from touching Nightmare Alex's hand and quickly pulled his hand away.

"I'm sorry, Nightmare Alex." Alex said while looking confident. "I may run away from the ponies like a coward, but I refuse to become evil!"

Nightmare Alex looked down at Alex with absoloute rage in his eyes. "So be it... HERO."
