The Beginning Of The End Rewrite

Twilight, Spike, and the Mane 5 are heading to Canterlot Castle worried and make it to the throne room as Celestia said “Girls thank goodness you are here.”

“Celestia what’s wrong?” Twilight asked with worry.

“Actually nothing’s wrong everything’s perfect.” Luna said happily.

“Equestria is just enjoying it’s recent period of harmony and it is all thanks to you.” Celestia admits happily.

“So me and my sister have decided it is time for us to retire.” Celestia announces.

Discord then appears in a news outfit “Breaking news! The royal princesses retiring! I have so many questions! Who'll take over? Who will run Equestria? Will it be someone tall, dark, and handsome? Or will it be the Lord of Chaos?”

Discord then formed arrows pointing to himself before Celestia pointed at Twilight.

“Oh fine go with the obvious choice.” Discord groaned before Twilight began worrying.

“You're retiring?!” Twilight asked shocked.

“Princesses can retire?” Spike asked confused.
Princess Luna then chuckles “Of course we can. I for one am looking forward to a little R&R. Maybe a trip to Silver Shoals.”
Twilight then begins speaking “And you want me to take your place?!”
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna then nodded.
“With the help of your friends, of course!” Luna added happily addressing Twilight’s friends.

“We can't think of anypony more worthy. Over the years, we've watched you grow. You've faced task after task...” Celestia began.

Princess Luna continued “challenge after challenge...”
Discord floated over saying “Countless adversities, yeah, yeah, yeah, we get it...”

“And you've always prevailed.” Celestia said happily.

“Thank you, but that doesn't mean that I'm— that we're ready to do what you do!” Twilight asked worried.

“Oh, of course you are. I realize this is a lot to take in, but—“ Celestia began before Rainbow Dash cuts her off.

“Nope! Makes perfect sense. We're awesome! [gasps] Does this mean we get all your powers?! Ooh, ooh! I call dibs on showing up in everypony's dreams!” Rainbow Dash said happily flying up to Celestia and Luna.

“You can't be ready to step into their horseshoes just like that!” Rarity said exasperated.

Applejack countered that argument by saying “Well, if the princesses think it's time to retire, we're not a bad choice. We always have Equestria's best interests at heart.”

“That's a fair point... which should be taken into consideration when we have a round table discussion—“ Twilight tries to say before Rarity interrupts her.

“Well, I'm in! Darlings, we'll all need a complete wardrobe update! And I would love to pick your brain about mane maintenance when you have a moment.” Rarity said.

“As long as we all have each other, I'm sure we can do it!” Fluttershy motivates.

“Yay! ‘Protectors of Equestria’ three! One... two...”

“If you're all on board, I guess I am, too.” Twilight said.

The Mane 6 and Spike then put their hooves and claw out and cheer “Protectors of Equestria!”

“It'll be a bit of an adjustment, but I imagine the transfer of power will be a lengthy process, which will—“ Twilight begins deducing.

“Actually, we just need a few days to put together a little ceremony.” Celestia admits.

Twilight nervously laughs “A few days?!”

The Mane 5 and Spike groan annoyed with Twilight.

“But that's so soon! Shouldn't there be some sort of training program that lasts weeks? No, months? If not years?!” Twilight shouted scared.

“Everything you've gone through over the years has been a training program.” Celestia said happily.

Twilight was still worried “But there's gotta be a guide or a rulebook.

Discord opens a fake book “I have it right here. ‘How to Rule Equestria’, by Nopony McPretendsmith.”

“The Friendship Journal you wrote is a better guide than anything we could provide.” Luna said.

Twilight begins hyperventilating.

“We have the utmost confidence in you.” Celestia said happily.

“And we hope you have the same in yourself.” Luna said.

Twilight still hyperventilating then uses a paper bag to breath into.

“Oh I am most certain she does.” Discord said with a smirk.

“I am not confident about this at all.” Twilight said.

“Well that’s what I thought, I was being sarcastic before.” Discord says brushing his beard with a fork.

Discord then sprays his beard with a spray bottle.

“Oh this is all so predictable you’re going to tell little Sparkle everything is fine but she won’t believe you and oh I do not need to be here for this.” Discord said annoyed before leaving with a poof.

The Mane 5 and Spike reassure Twilight everything is gonna be okay but meanwhile...

In Tartarus.

“Hey Tirek.” Chrysalis said annoyed.

“It is Lord Tirek and what is it now?” Tirek asked exasperated.

“Oh come now since we’re in Tartarus we might as well try to get along.” Chrysalis smirked at the centaur.

“Well I’m not talking to you, so deal with it.” Tirek said.

The two then disappear in a flash.

Meanwhile in the depths of Canterlot caves an ancient code is used and a certain red horn and green eyes appear.

Pieces of the Storm King statue are teleported out of the Canterlot dump.

Tirek, Chrysalis, and the Storm King are then teleported to a cave.

“The Storm King you have returned, why did you bring us here?” Chrysalis asked as Tirek flared his horns.

“Woah, woah let’s not get crazy I ain’t the one who brought you both here, I’m just confused as you.” Storm King waved his claws in defense.

They then heard an evil laugh as a manifestation of shadows turned into King Sombra.

“King Sombra you have returned, why did you bring us here?” Tirek asked.

“He didn’t, but I did.” A voice said it was then shown to be a blue ram.

“You may call me Grogar.” The being known as Grogar said.

“The Grogar.” Chrysalis said in shock.

“I’ve heard of you.” King Sombra said equally as shocked.

“Woah woah I don’t know who this Grofar is, can someone explain?” Storm King asked confused at the whole thing.

“I will explain but first a demonstration of power is in order.” Grogar said giving Tirek some magic to eat making him grow a bit and gain more muscle.

Tirek kisses one of his muscles and explained “Grogar is ancient, an extreme legend he is one of the most villainous creatures in Equestria, I heard of his tyranny when I was young.”

“I’ve also heard of Grogar, the Father Of Monsters.” King Sombra admitted.

“I gave life to the most foul of creatures, they went taking everything and destroyed the rest my reign was a glorious epon of darkness in Equestria.” Grogar explained.

“Until Gusty the Great rose up and banished you.” Chrysalis snarked.

“That fool believed taking my bell would defeat me, but it only weakened me temporarily and now I’ve returned to seek vengeance on Equestria.” Grogar explained.

“I have watched all of you fail to defeat Twilight Sparkle and her friends, and do you know why they always win?” Grogar asked.

“Because they cheat.” Chrysalis said annoyed.

“Because they are annoyingly lucky.” Tirek crosses his arms angrily.

“I mean my fall was by Tempest so...” Storm King dragged out smiling nervously.

“It’s because they work together when one is weak another is strong and when united they are unstoppable.” Grogar said.

“But fortunately we are going to use their own strategy against them and rule Equestria together.” Grogar said.

“I don.’the do ours I only do mine, I shall take back the Crystal Empire on my own and I will take it over for myself.” King Sombra said.

“Such confidence, go take back your Empire I shall send you there myself. If you win you may keep it but when you fail you will submit to me.” Grogar said.

“And if I refuse this deal?” King Sombra asks egotistically.

“Then I shall return you to the darkness from where you were summoned.” Grogar said.

“Fine but this is a waste of time I will crush those who defy me I will destroy all who will get in my way, I-“ King Sombra said before Grogar teleports him away.

“As for the rest of you I advise you all to work together.” Grogar commands the group.

“Well working together sounds like teamwork so you two are in luck because I know a lot about teamwork.” Storm King wraps his arms around Tirek and Chrysalis who roll their eyes.
