Discussion’s (the war part 2)

CELESTIA AND LUNA :

Celestia and Luna were now prisoners in one of their rebel camps.

“Ughh Luna what happened?” Celestia questions drowsy and barely opening up her eyes.

Celestia glanced at Luna passed out in the next cell over she didn’t look great in fact she looked
God awful in celestia’s opinion.
Her mane partially torn out her, muzzle covered in bruises and her body shivering lightly not from the cold but the pain.

“Luna answer me “celestia demands in worry and her face clenched in motherly worry. After all she’d always thought of Luna more like a disapproving mother thought of her daughter
Then an elder sister thought of her younger sister.

“Wake up” celestia continued to demand in pure unadulterated concern. Even trying to reach her hoof into the other cage but couldn’t quite reach into her sisters cage.

She even tried to ignite her horn to shake Luna with her magic. But the instant she lit her horn the magic was drained out and sucked into a a small metal pole in the center of camp.

“No” celestia exclaims in desperation and despair.

Celestia proceeded to do something she hadn’t done since she first banished Luna to the moon....
She sobbed.

3 HOUR’S LATER :

Celestia had worn herself out from the sobbing and the emotional overload and was currently hiding her head underneath her wings.

“Celestia?” Luna questions as her eyes fluttered open and she lifted her head finally awake and somewhat alert.

“Luna!” Celestia exclaimed trying to tackle her sister only to be reminded of the bars between them and stopping just shy of the bars.

“Sister where are we?” Luna asks in confusion holding a bump on her head.

“We’ve been captured by those ponies who attacked us” celestia explains trying to keep her mask of composure and calm even though internally she was panicking.

“They say their leader is starlight glimmer” celestia continued to explain.

“That’s horse shit” Luna quickly replies not even skipping a beat.

Celestia was gonna ask how her sister knew that but decided better not to question Luna and her mysterious ways.

“I have to help her. But first we have to get out of here” Luna mutters to herself and then lights her horn to enter the dream world once again only for her magic to be sucked off and into the pole in the center of the camp.

“That won’t work here” here starlight declares as she appears next to luna’s cage in a flash of teleporting magic.

“YOU” celestia shouts at the top of her lungs.

“me?” Starlight asks in the most mock tone her voice could muster.

“How could you do this to Equestia?” celestia asks I a blind rage gesturing to the burning ruins of the city they were in.

“I know isn’t it so much better” starlight smugly grinned.

“I swear once I get out of here I’ll”.... celestia’s rant was cut off by Luna who yelled “shut up” at celestia.

“Bu but she....” celestia stammers at Luna.

“Show thy self” Luna declares towards the shadows.

Celestia continued to stammer unsure what was happening until a yellow pony with magenta hair walked out in a dark cloak.

The pony strutted to luna’s cage “should known miss magical prodigy would’ve communicated with you through dreams” she spoke in the softest voice either of the princesses had ever heard.

She reached her hoof into luna’s cage offering to shake her hooves and begins by saying “I’m Melody” she cockily smiles at Luna trying to put on a facade of innocent coyness.

In response Luna smacked at melody’s hoof barely missing as melody pulled her hoof out drone the bars “YOU CAN’T FOOL ME CHILD” Luna angrily shouted in the canterlot voice directly at melody’s face.

Melody wasn’t even shaken by this outburst she simply shrugged grinning from ear to ear smugness leaking from her body language. “Eh I figured as much but it was worth a shot” she calmly said in that sickly sweet voice.

“Your a monster turning equestria on its head like this. Controlling ponies and stealing magic” Luna angrily retorted.

“Now whatever do you mean? As far as I see it equestria had turned itself on its head led by the disgruntled ex villain starlight glimmer” melody responds the cockiness in her tone cone across as more menacing then it should. “Isn’t that right starlight?” Starlights eyes briefly flashed green and she nodded muttering “of course” In a almost robotic voice.

After a moment of shocked dread and silence Luna tried to reason with the controlled mare “mrs glimmer remember when you helped me and celestia stop fighting. By being yourself and going for it no matter the consequences”

Seeing what her sister was trying to accomplish celestia jumped in. “Twilight is so proud of you. The real you she even planning on holding a party in your honor before this all happened. She was so excited to do something to honor you her hood and faithful student. I’ve never seen her do proud of anyone” celestia concludes putting emphasis on the anyone at the end.

Melody snickered “really your trying to break MY control! She only responds to MY visual and auditory signals. Her soul and dreams maybe hers but her BODY and VOICE belong to ME now.” Melody shouts angrily glaring and looking Luna directly into the eyes. As she said soul and dreams.

Melody began to prance away followed by starlight who was still being controlled

Trying one last time celestia shouts “rainbow dash, rarity, applejack, pinkie pie, fluttershy, spike and twilight sparkle will always love you. They will always be your closest friends and will never forget you!” The starlight drone turned around and green magic drifted off her body in a big clump.

Melody sighs in annoyance and mild aggravation. “I told you already that won’t.....” melody never finished as starlight her eyes back to normal tackled her.

The two unicorns struggled on the ground fighting each other. Exchanging blows with their hooves and trying to headbutt with their horns.

Starlight delivered blow after blow shouting “you bucking monster what did you do to me? What did you make me do?”

Only for princess Luna to yell to starlight “stop you’ll kill her” worried at the state of melody’s face covered in bruises and blood already.

Starlight glanced up snapped out of her blind rage at the sight of Luna and celestia. But in that split second that starlight looked up melody used her horn to deliver a glancing blow on the side of starlights front right hoof.

Making starlight wince in pain pulling back and as a result getting off melody. Melody took this opportunity to pull out the metal horn covering Luna had seen on starlight in the dreamworld. And placed it on starlights horn.

Starlight immediately collapsed into a heap screaming in pain as the metal siphoned off her magic straight from it’s source.

As starlight screamed in agony melody spoke her trigger “rainbow of friendship” and in an instant starlight stood up straight like a drone as the magic continued to drained from her horn.

“You’ll regret that!” melody snapped at the princesses as she pulled the metal horn covering off starlights horn.

“I have faith Twilight and her friends will figure out what your doing and stop you” celestia retorted in an unusual snappy tone.

Melody scoffed “please the won’t even look at me if their to busy looking at starlight a person with a history of mental problems and villainy. Heck by the time I’m done they’ll hate her and all that love die her you talk about will dissipate into nothing more then memories.

As melody and the controlled starlight marched back into the main part of the camp. melody stopped and grabbed screwball by the mane and said “the sister princesses tried to escape send some of your troops down to prod at them with spears, to taunt them, to throw rocks heck anything sort of killing them is fine.” She then released screwballs mane.

Screwball then turned around and shouted at one of her platoons of rebels and shouted “you heard the lady have at it” the crowd cheered and headed down to torture the once proud leaders of the fallen land of equestria.

THE MAIN 6 AND SPIKE :

Steel helm was currently giving his battle plan to defend canterlot castle to the mane 6 in the throne room.

“And the Pegasus and gryphons should should stay on the turrets and towers so they can swoop down on the enemy’s ground forces and defend against the enemies air forces” steel helm says wrapping up his plan for the defense of the last stronghold in equestria.

Twilight nods at steel helm indicating he’s dismissed. He politely bows and walks backward out of the room shutting the door behind him.

“Girls I have an issue I want to discuss with you” twilight begins to say in a soft.

“Ah course twilight you can tell us anything twi” applejack replies in her classic country drawl.

“I want to try to re reform starlight” twilight says hoping she hasn’t over stepped her bound’s

“NO” fluttershy of all ponies responds instantly.
Making twilights heart sink the one pony she had thought would be willing to at least consider it rejected it instantly.

“I know you love her twi and we loved her too but *applejacks voice cracked* she done too much.”And without another word left the room with fluttershy followed quickly by rarity wearing a disapproving look and casting it at twilight and a glowering rainbow dash who looked like she wanted to take someponies head off.

The only one who stayed in the throne room with twilight was pinkie (and spike of course). And pinkie walked over to twilight her hair drooping but not completely deflated and says “I’ll help you twilight. I made a promise not just any promise a pinkie promise to be friends with starlight forever no matter what. And you never give up on a friend” pinkie assures twilight trying to sound cheery but instead sounding sad and desperate.

“Right twilight? we never give up on a friend” spike asks hoping for reassurance only to get a saddened twilight walking away from him and pinkie to her bedroom for the night.

Twilight was reconsidering everything she thought was important and wondering if her friends were right was starlight truly unredeemable....

(Authors note this was the original ending of the chapter but I decided that chapter 3 was too short and combined chapter 2 discussions and chapter 3 the siege together)

SCREWBALL AND MELODY :

Screwball was currently laying in her bed in boredom and insomnia.

23 minutes of tossing and turning later: she decides to get up and go torture the princesses again.

As she arrived at their cages she noticed they too were awake and chatting quietly with each other. Her eyes instantly narrow in suspicion and curiosity. She being the psycho she was decided to scare them....

“PLOTTING your escape?” she shouted jumping out from behind some of the other cages. Her scare succeeded and the 2 sisters jumped startled by the sudden sound.

“What do you want?” Luna spat in annoyance at the psychos intrusion on their talk of escape. “

“Me? I want to now what you were talking about?” She responds cocking her head to the side lifting her bat slightly as a thinly veiled threat.

“None of your business nutjob” Luna responds unshaken by the threats. In response screwball gently set down her bat something she practically never did as the bat was as close to glued to her hoof as you could get without glue. And walked over to the nearest fire pit and pulled out a branding iron “ya sure it ain’t my business?” She threatens in a angry tone.

“I’m sure” celestia declares as Luna freezes at the sight of the branding iron. “That’s to bad...
but hey at least I’ll be able to hear you scream again” screwball responds her eyes practically bloodshot with glee.

Celestia didn’t even flinch when screwball came over to her cage brandishing the branding iron. “Princesses don’t scream” celestia said in the most stern tone she could muster as she stood up and looked screwball directly in the eyes.

As soon as celestia looked her in the eyes screwball thrust the branding iron into celestia’s hip on the right side right next to the cutie mark of the once proud sun princess.

Even though celestia was clearly In agony she didn’t scream or even whimper once. This mad screwball even angrier she angrily screamed “JUST SCREAM ALREADY” as she thrust the iron into celestia’s side harder. But even so celestia showed more willpower then screwball had ever seen and didn’t even scream.

Angrily screwball pulled the iron out of celestia’s cage and thrust it back into the fire. And proceeded to retrieve her baseball bat from the ground.

About half the troops came running down the hill to the cages having been woken by screwball’s shouting.

“General screwball are you alright?” Asks the first of the soldiers to get down the hill. Screwball simply sighed and brushed her hair out of her eyes. And after a full minute of silence she responded “wake the redress of the troops were going in tonight!”

“Tonight? But general starlight said...” he was interrupted by screwball’s bat pressing against his snout. “I know what she said but we’re going in tonight” screwball responds her tone getting more unstable and crazed by the second.

“Yes mam” the soldier quickly responded snapping to attention and quickly turning to run up the hill. “Hold it” she quickly exclaims.

He quickly spins around looking at her again awaiting order’s from the crazed general.

She looks directly at the fence line of canterlot castle and says “and bring me the dynamite while your at it”

Meanwhile in starlight/melody’s tent. Melody was lightly humming to herself and fluff up her hair in a mirror while a completely still starlight stood there under the thrall of melody.

“I think i need some more spray to keep the proper amount of bounce in my hair. What do you think starlight?” Looking back at the controlled pony who on the outside was a drone and on the inside was a desperate angry pony trying to escape.

“Oh that’s right you can’t talk...
I’ll fix that” melody exclaims clapping her front 2 hooves together 3 times and muttering “mango”

Starlight regained control of her mouth and her eyes but the rest of her body was still frozen in place. “Why do you do this? Talk to me like this I mean?” Starlight asks in genuine confusion over melody’s actions.

“Everyone needs someone or something to talk to. And your the only one other then those ditzy princesses who knows what I’m doing so you are the only one I can talk to honestly missy.”melody exclaims as she taps starlight on the nose.

“You’re evil” starlight exclaims angry for all the things this mare had made her do and convinced everyone else she was doing. “Starlight be reasonable. I’m not evil just political.... I see a world we’re the royals look down us they make the rules and punish their citizens for breaking them. And then turn around and break the rules they made. And they punish themselves. NO they don’t they just sweep all their dirty secrets under the rug. They’ve caused how many incidents that almost caused war..... they’ve made how many villains with THEIR SYSTEM....” she concluded her rant and calmly brushed herself off.

“Oh silly starlight you almost made me mess up my hair” and lightly bounced her hair adjusting it slightly with her hooves.

A loud explosion shook the tent...

“Huh screwball” sighs melody.

“As much as I respect you and our chat’s starlight I’m afraid I’m gonna have to take over again” melody says in genuine disappointment.

“But...” starlight was cut off by melody yelling “rainbow of friendship” and triggering starlight into her drone state.

TWILIGHT SPARKLE :

As twilight was about to fall asleep a explosion shook the entire castle.

Twilight quickly rushed out of bed and to the window to see the rebels charging over what was left of the fence. Twilight quickly ran to the bedroom across from hers and threw the door open yelling “SPIKE WAKE UP.”

Spike quickly jumps out of the covers of his bed startled by the sudden explosion followed by twilights yelling a a good 40 seconds later.

Twilight grabbed spike and pulled him roughly down the stairs to alert her other friends to the danger.

As she got to the foyer the front door of the castle burst open with a resonating CRACK. “Hey there princess” exclaimed screwball as she led the rebels in through what was left of the door.

The guards of the castle quickly ran and flew past twilight to address the danger. Twilight wanted to help the guards but though getting the girls was more important so she ran up the other staircase that led to her friends rooms.

Twilight practically barreled into applejack who was leading the rest of her friends down the stairs that twilight was running up.

“Girls the rebels have breached the castle” twilight announces in a panic breathing unsteadily from all the running.

“We know twilight what can we do?” rarity responds quickly.

Before twilight can respond the rebels having quickly dispatched most of the guards charged up the staircase towards the mane 6. The rebels held their makeshift weapons and there hooves high as they charged happy that the final royal of equestria was gonna go down.

Twilight and the gang charged up the stairs to escape the on coming mob knowing they couldn’t win even rainbow dash who wanted to fight knew it would’ve been a hopeless battle.

But the mob was quickly catching up to them as the ran up the stairs. Just as the mob was about to over take them fire streak ex wonderbolt and now castle guardsmen zoomed through one of the windows into the staircase shattering the window and knocking the 30 ponies at the front of the mob over the railing down through the gap between the stairs.

Unfortunately he also fell having broken his wing in the impact and died hitting the bottom along with the 30 dead rebels. His final words would always be remembered by the mane 6 “for the princess and equestria” was what he had said as he tumbled over the railing.

The girls final got to the top of the stairs and onto the roof only to see the battle between the guards and the rebels on the ground.

Steel helm and the flyers were on the roof that twilight and her friends had just gotten to. The flyers swooping in and attacking and steel helm directed them from the rooftop.

As the girls ran to steel helm who was on the other side of the roof. The door they had just come through burst open as screwball came through wearing her usual cloak and wielding her bat and was charging the main 6.

“I’ll handle her!” twilight exclaims as her friends continue running to steel helm.

Twilight shoots a blast of magic at screwball who didn’t flinch as the blast headed straight for her face. But instead of hitting screwball the magic zipped to the side and was absorbed by screwballs bat.

“What?” Twilight muttered stunned by the sudden surprise.

Screwball however took this opportunity and continued to charge at the stunned twilight baseball bat raised.

Right as screwball went to swing her bat at twilight’s head rainbow dash appeared and tackled screwball knocking the bat out of her hands and down onto the edge of the rooftop.

As rainbow dash and screwball wrestled fluttershy and pinkie snapped twilight out of her shock by yelling her name.

Rainbow dash was trying to subdue the crazed pony she was holding down.
Screwball lunged with her mouth and bit dash’s wing ripping out some feathers dash yowled in pain. Screwball took this opportunity to squeeze her back leg out from under dash’s body and kicked dash in the groin and screwball yelled “ya maybe a girl but it still hurts.”

Dash collapsed in pain and anguish. And screwball got up running to the edge and grabbing her bat. Unfortunately for screwball she didn’t see applejack charging up on her.

As screwball turned around bat now in hoof applejack was right there and with all her might applejack bucked screwball in the chest with her back legs.

And screwball was launched over the edge she was standing on. And fell holding the bat and as she fell she grinned and hugged her bat accepting her fate. Only to be scooped up just before she hit the ground by a Pegasus rebel.

“HEY!! we’d you save me?” She complained as he dropped her off onto the ground.

The battle raged on for hours as the rebels slowly overtook the guards......

And once again the doors to the roof burst open as screwball walked up complaining “you know how long it took me to get back up here?”

But this time screwball wasn’t alone she had a good 100 rebels follow her onto the roof.

The girls and the rebels charged each other...

Pinkie fired her party cannon into the ground closets to the edge knocking some of them off and proceeded to use her rock smashing hooves to fight about 5 mares that surrounded her.
Meanwhile twilight was blasting away being carful to not aim near screwball knowing her bat would sap up the magic.

Applejack was bucking away keeping the mob away from the others. And fluttershy’s was trying fight but couldn’t get up the nerve to actually fight

While rarity was distracting the enemy by using her unicorn magic to pull tiles and pieces of rock of the structure of the roof and lifting them over them over the mob dropping the rocks onto their heads. And dash had gone straight to the point and was dueling screwball in epic hoof to bat combat.

While dash was putting her all into jabbing at and or avoiding screwball’s bat. Screwball was causally swing but trying to steer dash closer to twilight which dash of course didn’t notice.

Once they were only 3 feet away from twilight. Screwball smacked her bat down at dash’s head which dash avoided as she had done a good 50 times already not seeing screwball”s other hoof coming from the left and it hit dash directly in the jaw.

As dash fell down from the blow screwball launched herself over rainbow dash towards twilight. She was about swing her bat and hit twilight in the head when twilight looked up with this petrified and scared look. And as screwball saw those eyes something happened that screwball had never experienced.

She felt bad for her actions. In response to this new emotion she dropped her bat to the ground and collapsed into a heap.

After a second of shock from the rebels and the girls. screwball got up and says “soldiers stop....
*brief pause* and you leave before I change my mind” she announces pointing at twilight as she said to leave.

Twilight and the girls gather themselves and walked over to the other side of the roof twilight carrying rarity and pinkie on her back as she spread her wings to take flight. Fluttershy carried applejack just barely and dash flew unburdened due to the injury to her wing from where screwball bit. As they were gliding away starlight and melody appeared in front of them starlights magic keeping them afloat in the air.

Starlight spoke saying “hello girls what do you say we finish this where it all began?” And with that sentiment they were all teleported with starlights magic landing in the mountain by our town.
