The Power

Balance's footsteps echoed down the hall like a muffled echo. She looked up at the crystals, noted that there was nothing that did not have traces of crystal. Nothing had changed. She looked at the princess and her hair colors, she did not remember that the last princess she saw in the Empire had those colors ...

"I'm sorry you had to go through the dungeons first. It's just me, the guards, and the Crystal Heart. And the deal hasn't been closed, and I'm looking forward to it being over once and for all." The princess uttered with a sigh, Balance raised an eyebrow.

¿The deal? She had overheard the brothers' conversation, and Balance was sure she had heard of a deal.

"¿Why would the Crystal Empire need a deal?" He asked, he had thought it out loud.

Cadance lowered his head, then rested his gaze on the front door to the throne.

"King Sombra has returned."

Equilibrio rolled his eyes immediately, ¿who was he?

"And he has not returned alone, more villains came to stay and fight" continued Cadance.

They entered the royal hall, Balance guided his gaze to the throne, missing the one he once had and was destroyed. She shook her head surreptitiously, pulling memories out of her head that will be hard to forget.

"Chrysaris has been fighting in Ponyville, and so has Tirek. ¡They are uniting! I fear to know that they maintain an army, an army of souls" Cadance commented, sitting on his throne with a frown, Balance kept his lips closed.

Balance knew what he meant by army of souls. It turns out that he investigated for years in a fairly old book that at one point, a rambling usurper made an army with souls in pain, his hatred was so great that he made the dead come back to life, but with the thought of 'winning the throne for her beloved king. '

Balance opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by an evil laugh that echoed off the walls. Cadance rose from his throne showing a defiant posture. Equilibrio turned his head to find a stallion with dark gray fur and terrifying armor, what most caught his attention were the color of his eyes.

"¡Long Sombra King! ¡The Crystal Empire will never feel your hooves on it again!" The princess threatened with a firm all.

Balance remained intact in place. She could feel the dark magic emanating from him, it made her carry back her memories.

"Who would say that the princess of love threatened like that." The stallion commented wryly, taking steps forward. It showed its fangs and lunged towards the princess, she instantly protected herself with a shield. Balance was out of the fight, they hadn't even noticed her there. A piece of glass fell on his hooves.

Black crystals peeked out of the ground, they were huge and pointed. Balance fell to the side, hitting his back with something. From the corner of his eye he saw how the princess was being cornered by the stallion. Balance was quick to get up off the ground and break the crystals with ease, the turquoise magic coming out of his horn easily breaking the crystals made with dark magic.

"¡Balance, no!" Cadance yelled, seeing the alicorn approach with the intention of helping. The Sombra King noticed the presence of the other alicorn and cast a spell with black crystals.

Equilibrio let out a gasp and threw herself aside as the crystals approached her from the ground. He closed his eyes in dread and when he opened them he breathed a sigh of relief. With his magic he stopped the crystal, making his strength present.

"¡Princess!". Balanced yelled, drawing the attention of both of them. King Sombra turned his head to meet the new alicorn again, gave her a grim look, and lunged toward her. Balance rolled on the ground, striking one of its beautiful wings on the glass floor. She was forced to face her face with Sombra from the ground, he placed his two front hooves on either side of Equilibrio's head.

"¿What do we have here?" He muttered coldly to her, Equilibro lost his breath trying not to lose control. The Sombra King snorted as Cadance staggered off the ground.

Equilibrio made a gesture and struck a hoof of the king who was before her, he snorted releasing it.

Before Cadance wanted to face his enemy again, he turned into a shadow and took off as dark and fast as possible. But first, he murmured that he would return for his Empire.

"I know he just left, but he will be back in a short time. ¿Hours? ¿Weeks? I've been like this for a week, I no longer feel the strength to beat him. And I miss my husband and daughter" stammered the princess with melancholy, he sat down on the throne with weary strides.

Balance I wait for him to finish speaking.

"I can see that you fight for your kingdom, but even the alicorns need to rest" Balance did not want to name her name, but what was left of another to mention her. "And Princess Celestia ... is she aware of this villain's return?

Cadance nodded with his eyes closed, then a weak smile settled on his lips.

"I just met you and I feel like you are one of us" she uttered, Balance did not reply "¿May I ask you why you are an alicorn?

Balance didn't know what to answer, assuming she was born an alicorn.

"I was born an alicorn."

Cadance widened his tired eyes, smiling admiringly.

"¡My daughter was born like this too!".

Balance smiled as he sat on the ground and examined his injured wing. He felt a stab of pain in his left wing that prevented him from stretching it. He swept his long, heavenly white hair to the side, seeing better that his wing was somewhat purple.

"You should go, the Empire is not safe. I will order the two stallions removed from the dungeons. Nice meeting you, Balance." The princess hinted, lifting her chin showing a firm posture.

Balance frowned in concern.

Equilibrio saw from afar the figures of the two brothers, he also saw how they were arguing awkwardly. The princess in a gentle gesture gave them a trip on the train to Ponyville, Balance did not want to leave the Crystal Empire so easily knowing that an ancient villain was back, and not alone.

"¡Oh, lady with the beautiful voice! ¡You are alive!" Hello Fred, his brother rolled his eyes as he entered the train.

Equilibrio smiled, but his smile slowly faded as he felt the cold on his fur, he looked up at the dark sky that was looming.

She entered the train and sat near the two brothers, she noticed that their confused gazes were on her.

"¿What was his name like?" Shager asked with a frown, her brother laughed, she raised an eyebrow.

"Balance, my name is Balance."

The two brothers ignored her.

"¡I'd say call it warm snow!" Fred mentioned, Balance lowered his ears.

"¿What kind of a name would that be?" Shager snapped, frowning.

Fred shrugged, guiding his gaze to the wounded wing of the alicorn.

"¿What happened to you on your delicate wing?" he asked cautiously, rolling his eyes.

Balance lowered his gaze to her.

"A certain King Sombra threw me to the ground."

The two brothers jumped out of their seats, hugging each other.

"¿Y-did you say king ...Sombra?" Fred muttered in dread.

"Yes, he also wanted to attack the princess. But he vanished like a shadow ...".

The few passengers on the train ran as far as they could from Equilibrio and his talk with the two scared brothers.

"Normally, his name is not mentioned in the Empire. It brings back horrible memories of his rule in the Crystal Empire." Shager exclaimed, calming his trembling brother.

Balance pursed his lips. It was still strange to him all the new things that have happened over the years, he could not deny it either. She was intact in the mountains for quite a while.

She clung to the 'new threat' thought she was weak, not totally strong. I could not feel cold, nor heat. But spending time in the mountains had made her somewhat weak.

Equilibrio looked up at the window, he hadn't noticed how long he was inside his thoughts. The first thing he saw was the new Ponyville.

And also the chaos that was in him.
