Fall of Two Worlds: Lunar's Light

I gasped for air and jumped up. I looked to my surroundings and saw what I had hoped for. My six friends and the princess was looking at me. I found myself not in as much pain and flapped my wings a little.

"He's alive!" Pinkie Pie shouted jumping around. I similed and walked over to Celestia and Twilight. I saw Luna crying in the corner of the room and instantly knew what that would mean.

"Thank you. Celestia." I said. She nodded then looked to her student.

"It was her and Rarity that gave their magic to me. I couldn't have done it without them." Celestia replied. Twilight gave a half simile and faltered a little, she was tired and low on magic, which isn't normally a good thing.

"It's not over though is it?" I asked, looking to Luna. Celestia looked down in shame and shock her head. If the portal wasn't closed today, we would all die.

"Nightmare moon gave the Interdimensional portal magic to one of stone. Trapped in a mental prison forever with no able way out. Discord. We have to find a way to get him out and force him to close the portal." Celestia replied. I thought about this for a second and then nodded. Everypony was tired and wryer from the nights episode, but we had to keep going, and each of the other ponies also saw this.

"Well. We better get to Discord then." I said, suddenly the thought of how the undead had appeared on Equestria, no humans, as far as I knew were living or had lived on Equestria so I couldn't think of an explanation. Luna seemed as confused as me when l asked her on the way back through the forest. We didn't see any skeletons, or at least I didn't. Despite all of Celestia's, (and Twilight's and Rarity's), one of my wings was badly damaged and I couldn't fly, so was limping along with the others. Applejack, Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie, the two princesses had opted to fly but were way ahead of us talking to each other.

Twilight looked back from where she was, the others did too, I was dragging behind and in pain still. But at least I was alive. I wondered what the void world was that I had seen, was it just my imagination, an illusion? Maybe it was real and I had actually been dead for a minute, maybe more?

"You okay sugar cube?" Applejack asked, I blinked back to reality.

"Eh? Oh, right. Sorry, my leg still hurts." I replied. 'Among other things.' I thought unhappily, almost everywhere hurt still and apart from closing the cuts, I wondered if Celestia had actually done anything. 'No, that's not nice, she did everything she could.' I thought, maybe the repairing of my body had caused a minor blood overflow in my brain, causing me to get hot headed or something. I took another step and fell. My foreleg failed under me and I went face first into some mud. Applejack ran over to me and put my hurt hoof over her shoulder and helped me get up.

"Thanks." I said, grateful of the help. The orange earth pony smiled kindly and winked.

"No problem. Now, easy steps." AJ replied and I walked, her body strength helping me along. The journey back was shorter than the one there but I figured it was due to us being completely lost all the time, then the running and resting. It took a while. Now the sun was up the Everfree didn't look so scary. The place still looked depressing and dark. But less scary.

"This is where we leave you. A chariot shall be sent to you as soon as we arrive at Canterlot. We will try to figure out how to force Discord into freedom. Goodbye my little ponies." Celestia said. We all nodded and the two princesses flow off out of the forest.

"Well. Now what?" Pinkie Pie asked. I was worrying to much about time limitation and how relaxed the princesses seemed. I limped, with the help of Applejack a bit more as we neared the town again.

"We wait in Ponyville, as heroines, and hero." I replied. Knowing we probably wouldn't get the portal closed before the worlds collided so we would all be dead, but letting the ponies believe they are now safe once more. I was beginning to get very tired and saw the others were too. We walked (and limped) back to Ponyville in silence, except Pinkie who was singing some song I hadn't heard of before from her.

After a few more minutes of traveling, we exited the Everfree to see almost all of Ponyville standing, cheering for us. Above me I saw a dark cloud with a grey wing, painted cyan, poorly painted cyan, I should say. I flapped my wings and flow up to see Derpy hiding, or attempting to hide in the cloud line. She had tried to paint herself cyan and most hadn't dried and was slowing dripping into the cloud. Derpy hadn't seen me yet so I just looked at her. Considering she was a pony, and myself a human, she seemed, attractive, or was before she became an attempt at cyan. Her hair was also painted a red colour, but again, the paint was mixing in and her yellow hair looked like she had been bleeding.

"Hi Derpy." I said suddenly, the grey (cyan?) Pegasus jumped and gave a cute, wait, cute? Anyway, she gave some sort of squeal. She looked up at me.

"Oh hi. Do you like my new look? I figured you might like the new me." Derpy said, her left eye twitched a little, her right was looking somewhere away from me. I decided to look into the left eye and gave a simile.

"New you?" I asked. Confused, I looked down at the others and saw them talking to the mayor and other ponies like Lyra and Doctor Hooves and the like.

"Yeah, new me. Not Derpy anymore. Just a normal, single, attractive Pegasus now." Derpy replied, okay, I understood now. Crap, she liked me. "So do you like it?" Derpy continued. I was shocked. Confused, hurt, happy, I didn't know what to say or do. My wings began to flap faster and my heart was beating so loud, I was wondering how Derpy, and the rest of Ponyville couldn't hear it. I caught sight of the Canterlot chariots and sighed.

"Look Derpy. Honestly, I hate this new attempt at a look." I began, she looked down, sad and about to cry. I had to act. I was probably going to die soon anyway right? "Because Derpy. I like the old you. You were attractive and funny and, I liked you the way you were, we are, just of two different worlds." I continued, Derpy's face lite up at the first part, then became confused at the last. I had to tell her.

"Derpy. I'm not a pony. I'm human. Brought here because Discord has opened a portal between my world and yours, and I was affected by a magic transfer. Derpy. I can't love you the way I do. It would be so wrong. I may not ever return from Canterlot, but Discord must be stopped." There, I told her. I spread my wings to fly of the cloud I had landed on to tell Derpy to fly away. But then, she came in like lightning, and. She, she kissed me.

Long and hard she embraced me, and after a second I replied. We stood on the cloud layer together as the chariots landed and kissed. My wings were flapping so much I thought I'd take off. My heart was on the verge of a heart attack and I felt so wrong. Yet, so right. I let go of Derpy's hoof that I hadn't realized I was holding and pulled back, confused, but happy.

"I don't care. I love you." Derpy said and similed.

"I may not return." I replied, she kissed me again.

"For luck." She explained and flow away. I flow down onto a chariot and Rainbow just winked at me.
