Fall of Two Worlds: Lunar's Light

Everypony was now sleeping, it was well past midnight by the time Derpy and Rainbow Dash returned to Ponyville. The rest of the mane six had gone to bed, saddened and worn out. Rainbow walked the still tearful Derpy to her home. When the pair reached the doorstep, Derpy hugged Rainbow Dash.

"He really is gone." Derpy said. Rainbow was shocked as well, twice the man had nearly died, and twice he had returned to save them. But now, the fight was over, the worlds were safe and he was dead. Fell down on his own terms. After victory of a great evil.

"I know Derpy. He fell on his terms." Rainbow replied and released Derpy who walked in her house and began to scream loudly. Rainbow Dash flapped her wings and looked to the stars. Maybe he was okay, just woke back up on his world. With memories? Or none at all? Rainbow Dash would never know. And no other pony would either.

It was almost evening again when Rainbow woke up. She looked in the humans old room, hoping him to be there and that it had all been a bad dream. But, there was no pony. Rainbow Dash decided, after a quick bite to eat. Less than half an apple. That Rainbow should go find the others. She flow out of the cloud home and passed Derpy's home. She saw the grey mare sitting alone in her room. Rainbow decided that it was best to leave her, how would Rainbow help anyway? After some time of slow flying, Rainbow saw Apple Acres. There standing at the lite up barn were the others. Rainbow flow down.

"Ah Rainbow. The party is in there." Twilight sniffled. Pointing one hoof. Everypony was here, but the man. Rainbow and the others bowed their heads, even Pinkie, who apparently hadn't said a word all day.

"He's really gone. Isn't he?" Rarity asked.There was some music coming from DJ Vinyl, but no pony was really celebrating. Celestia had gone round that morning and told everypony the story of the human, and how he died falling. Rainbow looked at Rarity, the unicorn hadn't brushed her hair, and like the rest, had wet, red eyes. Rainbow nodded and hugged the white unicorn. The six grouped round in a big hug in a circle and sobbed again.

Almost an hour passed before they group released each other.

"Come on y'all, he wouldn't want us to be like this. We gotta celebrate our victory." Applejack sobbed. They rest nodded and just before they entered the barn, Derpy Hooves appeared and landed next to Fluttershy. She just nodded and the seven went inside for the party.

Inside some ponies were dancing and Vinyl was still laying down music for them. The barn was lite up with paper lights of different colours and there was punch and cookies near the door. Pinkie began to dance a little and after some time the others did. Except Derpy and Rainbow. The pair found a bale of hay and sat down with some punch. The two watched everypony dance and sat in silence. Finally Derpy broke the silence.

"Now what?" Derpy Hooves asked suddenly. Rainbow Dash looked to the grey mare confused.

"How will the Elements work now?" Derpy added.

"I don't know, with both Discord and Nightmare moon gone, hopefully we won't need them. But if we do. I'm sure Celestia or the Elements will sort it out." Rainbow replied, confused as to where this was going.

"But wouldn't they have already changed back, now the human is dead?" Derpy asked, Rainbow saw what she was hinting.

"Derpy, we all saw him fall. The man is gone and both Equestria and Earth are safe." Rainbow said, more harshly than intended. Derpy just looked down, tears forming again.

"Come on. Lets get you home." Rainbow said. The grey Pegasus just nodded, as they got up to leave. Celestia appeared. Everypony stopped as the bright sun goddess walked in to the barn.

"My subjects. You may have heard the story of the human from me this morning, and I would like to say some words on his behalf. If you would let me." Celestia said, asking to speak. The other ponies just bowed their heads and allowed the princess to talk. It was a very rare occasion the princess would ask permission to do anything. So it must be important.

She began.

"Ponies. A few months ago my student, her friends and myself went over to the human world of Earth because some wild magic had crossed between an unknown portal that we now know to be Discord's doing. There I discovered that the magic, for whatever reason, had gone into a single human. To close the portal a little and close the bridge, we had to bring him back. Once we returned home, I changed him into a Pegasus that looked very much like Rainbow Dash, due to an error in my casting. For a few weeks and only up to two days ago. Was working with Applejack in the market. May of you may have met him. But once Twilight and my unicorns had discovered that Nightmare moon had not only, apparently opened the portal, being the only one with the magic, but she was also returning from the moon. The only way to defeat her was through the Elements of Harmony, but a seventh was formed where only six had been. So I sent my student, and her friends to retrieve them for me in hope of finding the Elements bearers. During their trip into the Everfree, they in counted human dead. I have unicorns looking into that and we can only hope it was through Nightmares portal they arrived. After some fighting the group ran. The human decided to stay behind to give them all time to get the Elements, and after fighting, returned to them just before Nightmare killed them." Celestia said, she then paused to refresh her breathing and allowed the story to sink in.

Suddenly a yellow-brown Pegasus flow in with a brown sheet of paper. The mare gave it to Celestia and nodded slowly, the princess magically opened it and read, after some time she shooed the Pegasus away and set the note alight so that nopony else would read it. Then, she continued.
