The day after the massive party, the former wonderbolts were all visiting the one who was still in the hospital to tell the news.

"Figures. Brass sees a pony that is better then all of us put together and they go out of their way to make it as difficult as possible for them to get in." The Wonderbolt in the hospital said.

"I don't think I'm that great." Rainbow Dash said, rubbing a foreleg.

"It's not wrong though. You are defiantly someone who could've easily outshined us with your own team." Spitfire said. "Still, thanks for wanting to help us out in finding a new HQ to set up in here. At the very least our friend here can be our manager for our new flight team." Spitfire said. "Makes me think of a new motto, inspired by you Dash: Never leave a pony behind." She said.

"Thanks Spitfire." Rainbow Dash said.

"I just have one question: Why'd you refuse to answer the brass's question so much?" Spitfire said. "Don't worry, I don't care for the answer." She added.

"Because it's like I told them to their face: It wasn't going to matter what answer I gave them. If I said I wasn't involved in it, they'd assume I was lying and nothing none of you said would've changed their minds, so they'd still threaten the race on me and you Spitfire. And had I said I was involved in it? They'd assume the worst about that statement and think the whole thing was my idea and thus still threaten the race on me and you Spitfire." Rainbow Dash explained. "I may not be book smart, but I can tell when a pony's not gonna change their mind about somepony else. I can't stand jerks like that." She added.

"I guess you have a good point there. That only makes the decision to include you on our new stunt flier team the right call." Spitfire said. "I just hope you don't mind if I'm still captain." She added.

"No ma'm!" Rainbow Dash said, smiling.

"You don't have to ma'm me anymore Rainbow Dash. After that little incident? I think we're going to be good friends now." Spitfire said.

"Didn't think I'd see the day Spitfire wasn't much of a drill sergeant..." Soarin said.

"I will say though...how careless did you two get to get photographed?" Spitfire asked.

"I don't know HOW someone photographed us...we did our best to keep it as secret as possible. For all we know, it could've been one of those jerkwads in the higher ups that took it in secret." Rainbow Dash said.

"Speaking of that tornado incident...after my wing got torn off by that Insightful Wraith jerk, I could tell he was out for blood, and was going to make sure that you found me laying where he tortured me." The wonderbolt in the hospital bed said. "But before he could do that, of all mares, Lighting Dust showed up and allowed me to get away." They added.

"Lighting Dust? Her?" Spitfire said. "That doesn't make any sense." She added.

"No it doesn't, but I still say we at least confirm it with her. Reckless or not, I want the truth about this." Rainbow Dash said.

"And the truth is really all that matters right?" Soarin asked Rainbow Dash.

"You bet Soarin. Now, let's get moving." Rainbow Dash said, smiling. The former wonderbolts started heading out.

I would normally get on Soarin for causing this whole mess, but perhaps this was for the better anyways. Now that Rainbow Dash is helping us make a new stunt team, I want us all to learn how to do our own Sonic Rainbooms. Spitfire thought to herself.

Meanwhile in an unknown location, Cheese Sandwich was at his home when suddenly his phone started to ring.

"Hello, Cheese Sandwich here." Cheese Sandwich said over the phone. "...WHOSE BIRTHDAY PARTY?!" Cheese Sandwich exclaimed. "I'LL BE THERE FIRST THING TONIGHT!" He added before grabbing Boneless 2 and heading out.

Back with the former wonderbolts plus Rainbow Dash the group found Lighting Dust who was actually at the park in ponyville.

"...I heard about what the brass tried to do. I don't care if Rainbow Dash took away my chance to join the Wonderbolts, you don't do something like that to anypony; doesn't matter who." Lighting Dust said.

"We're not here about that right now." Spitfire said. "We're here about the wonderbolt whose been recovering in Ponyville hospital." She added.

"Tell it straight Dust: Was it you who she saw making sure she got away from that Insightful Wraith jerk?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"...He got here before me...dammit. Is that Rarity Belle he was looking for alright?" Lighting Dust said.

"Safe and sound in a classified location." Spitfire said.

"She's at the beatique here in town." Lighting Dust said.

"How do you know that? That's supposed to be top secret!" Spitfire said.

"I'm from canterlot originally. Word traveled quickly about her business from ponyville the first time she and her friends came to the gala." Lighting Dust said.

"I know they went. I really wish I didn't have to spend so much time with snobbish ponies." Spitfire grimmiced.

"Well at least you don't have to do that anymore right?" Lightning Dust asked. "Look...I know I was reckless at the academy, but if you'll give me the chance, I'll try and improve myself. In fact, I swear on my life I won't do something like the tornado again." She begged. The former wonderbolts all looked at each other before Spitfire stepped forward.

"On one condition Dust: If I hear one thing, just one thing, about you doing something reckless in our upcoming new team, then I'm pulling you for good. Got that? There won't be any possible redemption if you screw this up again." Spitfire said.

"I'll do whatever you want me to!" Lighting Dust said.

"Good. Then for the time being, I'm assigning you to Rainbow Dash and Soarin for training until I feel like you won't be reckless anymore. Think you can handle listening to their orders until then?" Spitfire asked.

"I'll do my best." Lighting Dust said.

"Very good. And remember: Not one more peep about you being reckless." Spitfire said.

"Hey what's the big idea, where's that new ship Timeman202 Promised?!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed after tearing out of the pages of this fanfic.
