This takes place in the background of several episodes, from "Flutter Brutter" to "28 Pranks Later" and the main plot happens just after the events of "Times They are a Changeling"

Season 2: Episode 7 - Legacy Part 1

A few months have passed since Twilight Sparkle accepted Flash Sentry's marriage proposal. During this time, in order to get back at her brother, Twilight ordered a media blackout until three days before the wedding would take place. In the background of many events, Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich would be planning the wedding party while the couple in question were making a list of who besides their own realitives as well as all of Ponyville would be at their wedding. One of the ones Twilight knew for a fact that she wanted Moondancer and her friends at the wedding.

But unbeknownst to everyone involved, a sinister plot was brewing.

"The hell is the newest princess thinking, ordering a black out on the media revolving around her upcoming wedding? If you ask me, it's not really a wise decision." Ace said.

"Ace, we're not planning to criticize her decisions. I'm sure Princess Twilight Sparkle has her reasons. Reasons I could personally care less for. Still, this wedding gives us the perfect opportunity for revenge." Insightful Wraith said. "I want you to see if you can get on the guest list for the wedding. I do have a backup plan in case that one fails, but I'd rather go with plan A." He explained.

"About that, I already tried to enter Ponyville. Apparently, news of my defeat to that filly named Scootaloo and what I tried to do spread faster then I can fly." Ace said.

"That's what you get for forgetting that she beat you in a flying race. What were you thinking trying to throw her anyways?" Insightful Wraith said.

"I...thought that she would've been too off guard from being thrown." Ace said.

"Idiot..." Insightful Wraith said. "It's a good thing I have plan B, which you will see the day of the wedding." He added.

Soon it was three days before the wedding, and only now did news of Twilight's wedding with Flash Sentry become public knowledge, with Twilight's interview regarding the blackout having her only words be to her brother being "Payback is a bitch, isn't it brother?"

"...Seriously? She's STILL upset that I didn't let her know about our engagement beforehand." Shining Armor said, surprised his own sister would even do this to him.

"Honestly, I'm not sure why your so surprised she did this. You had to know she would've done this just to rub it in your face." Cadence said. "Thankfully, Twilight said Thorax can come with us to the wedding." She added.

"She's going to have security out the wazzo just in case though; just watch." Shining Armor said.

Well to say that the security was very heavy was only slightly an understatement, Twilight and Flash even came up with their own code phrases just in case.

"Is all this really necessary?" Flash Sentry asked Shining Armor, who was helping Flash get ready for the wedding.

"Considering what happened at the last royal wedding, I'm not surprised." Shining Armor said to his future brother in law.

"Oh right. The changeling invasion." Flash Sentry said.

"I'm surprised Cadence didn't suspect anything about a wedding coming up when you two visited during Thorax showing up in the empire." Shining Armor said.

"Oh trust me, she knew. She just didn't mention it because she had a feeling that Twilight was getting you back for telling her last second about your own wedding." Flash Sentry said.

"Touché..." Shining Armor said.

Soon the wedding cermony was under way, and Celestia was hosting the cermony. But just before the cermony could get started, suddenly an injured soldier from Twilight's Royal Guard limped in.

"We have a problem your highnesses...out of nowhere, a bunch of tanks made from pure magic suddenly started firing upon ponyville!" The guard said.

"WHAT?!" Celestia exclaimed.

"They're being controlled by someone then. But who?" Cadence asked. Second Periculum suddenly gasped.

"FATHER!" Second Periculum said.

"You mean your jerkface of a father is back?!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

"Didn't he learn his lesson the last time?" Lightning Dust asked. The group headed outside, only to get captured by Ace.

"Ace is here too?!" Soarin said.

"Heh heh...surprised?" Ace asked. Everyone from the wedding including the princesses were captured by Ace and then imprisoned in magic cages by Insightful Wraith.

"This time there will be no hope for your escape." Insightful Wraith said. "Oh and by the way Ace..." He suddenly then betrayed Ace and put HIM in a cage.

"Hey! What's the big idea?!" Ace exclaimed.

"Did you really think I was going to be an honorable person and keep the trust going throughout this revenge scheme. I'm more surprised at how easy it was to manipulate you." Insightful Wraith said. "Your no different then all the other ponies who have gotten so used to how things are, that you've grown soft." He added before he suddenly took out a strange black diamond and Sombra's horn.

"What are you doing with Sombra's Horn?!" Rarity exclaimed.

"Simple. Not only do I plan on getting revenge on my son and the lot of you for what happened last time, but I'm also going to fulfill my legacy. Because believe it or not, I am a direct blood relative to King Sombra!" Insightful Wraith said.

"SAY WHAT?!" Twilight Sparkle exclaimed.

"And now, with the power of the Princess of the sun, the princess of the moon, and the princess of love combined, I can use the alicorn magic from these three princesses to reserect King Sombra once more." Insightful Wraith and began making a magic circle with Sombra's Horn at the center of it.

"You do realize that the first chance he gets, he's gonna kill you." Applejack said.

"Perhaps...but I will gladly sacrifice my life for my ancestor. After all, while the magic of the princess of the sun, the princess of the moon, and the princess of love will be drained as a result of this ritual, the mare King Sombra most wants as his, the so called 'Princess of Friendship', will still have all of hers. And I do mean all of it." Insightful Wraith said.

"What? What do you mean?" Twilight asked.

"Oh Princess Twilight Sparkle...you don't get it do you? Your mother's linage can be traced all the way back...to RADIANT HOPE HERSELF!" Insightful Wraith said before letting out a very dark and twisted laugh.

But as he laughed, suddenly...

BOOM!

Followed by some strange music as the words "TO BE CONTINUED!" suddenly showed up.
