During the Storm King Invasion, Twilight chose to hid and entrusted Flash and her friends to gather forces.

This distraction allowed Flash to gather help from other species from beyond Equestria's borders like the Hippogriffs.

Twilight was eventually found by Fizzlepop Berrytwist, who now went by Tempest Shadow. However, before Tempest brought Twilight before the Storm King, Twilight wanted to have some words with the unicorn mare who had a broken horn.

It was here that Twilight revealed a spell she had been working on that she herself created; a spell that can give a unicorn whose horn is broken a magically created horn that would function like the real thing. Tempest was no doubt taken aback that after so long, she had a working horn. Of course though, with the spell currently unfinished, Twilight did reveal that it could not last forever. Not yet anyways.

Twilight told Tempest that the Princess has yet to fully complete the spell but will continue to work on it. Twilight even mentioned that if Tempest betrayed the Storm King, she can get Tempest a full pardon for her actions under the Storm King. If Tempest agreed to betraying the Storm King, then Twilight promised she would finish the spell someday and would make sure Tempest would be the first unicorn mare who would have the permanent version of the spell.

The choice was pretty easy for the unicorn who thought there was no hope for her to have a horn at all. After all, why would she trust someone who hasn't shown her that they can indeed restore her horn over someone who has found a work around?

The answer was that she couldn't; the Princess of Friendship had given Tempest Shadow a bright future to look forward to once the Storm King was defeated. And defeated he was. Tempest waited for just the right moment to stab him in the back, and that moment came when Twilight's friends and husband came back with an army.

True to her word, Twilight was able to get Tempest a full pardon since Tempest was able to defeat the Storm King with Twilight's help. Though she was still given a punishment for her actions under him: She would be kept under Twilight's supervision for six full months and would not be allowed to leave Ponyville or Equestria until those six months were over.

This would Suit Tempest just fine. In fact, the unicorn mare at Twilight's castle would prove invaluable in time. Just not yet.

A few weeks after the Storm King's invasion, the main six as well as Celestia, Luna, Cadence, and Shining Armor were now in a room at Twilight's Castle with Tempest there too. Patra had called a meeting between royal diplomates because there was something her husband had to say. As such, Gilda was sent as the representative for the griffons, but the other leaders attended the meeting themselves though there were also a couple of each species with them.

"Fox man better have a good reason for this meeting." The Yak leader said.

"For months now, I have sensed a darkness approaching. A few nights ago though, I finally sensed the familiar power of a familiar foe. It's a power signature I'll never forget for as long as I live." Rob said. "The one I sensed is responsible for masterminding the deaths of many of those I called my allies a long time ago. It is because of him several good men and women alike fell to the twisted plans that this foe of mine created. And not just those closest to me, thousands of innocent lives were also lost in the process too." He explained. "And that foe, is the one who holds the title of The Dark Master." Rob concluded.

"The Dark Master...I'm sorry but I do not recognize the title." Celestia said.

"A long time ago, there was a cult who worshipped pure evil." Patra began. "This cult became known as The Dark Tribe. And they all worshipped a single entity. This entity was thus given the title of The Dark Master." She added.

"So you've faced this dark master guy before then?" Gilda asked.

"Oh we've fought several times. But my time for being the hero has long passed. If it's him...I want you all to be prepared. It's not long until one of his strongest minions comes here. The only one of that cult that's still alive at that." Rob said. "A female Kobold named Karisha who is better known under her Dark Tribe name of The Manipulator." He added.

"So what do we do to prepare for her and this Dark Master guy?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"I have an idea." Twilight said. "I suggest that each leader select one member of their species to be placed her at my castle. I am hoping that while they are here ready to take on this Dark Master, they also grow close together as friends." She added.

"That's not the worst idea I've heard. In fact it's crazy enough to work." Queen Nova said.

"So, then is everyone in agreement?" Ember asked.

"I believe so." Thorax said.

Meanwhile, a pony on the streets of manhatten was being scared out of his wits by a mysterious figure.

"What's the matter? Are you scared?" The figure said, his voice clearly twisted and sounded like he was enjoying seeing the creature before him be scared. "Are you having trouble coping with your greatest fear?" The figure asked, his smile twisted and evil.

"Wh-what are you?! Who are you!?" The Pony said through their fear.

"I am Condescending Consequence. And I am The Dark Master." The figure said. A twisted and evil laugh soon echoed throughout the streets.
