My Little Pony: The Prince of Friendship

Today was Rumble's Birthday and he had quite a lot of presents for his 16th birthday.

Each one of the CMC plus Spike had their own gifts for the birthday colt, with Scootaloo's gift wrapped in some of the Wonderbolt Wrapping Paper she got because of the Wonderbolt Cup incident. This would be the only time she'd use it, because she wanted Rumble's 16th birthday to be special.

Apple Bloom's gift was opened first, it was as one may expect, some things to help strengthen his flight endurance. Apple Bloom always gave out gifts that were alligned more for fitness then anything else.

Spike's gift was second. His was just a gem carved to look like Rumble.

"Dang Spike; way to upstage the rest of us." Scootaloo whistled.

"I didn't have any other ideas. I would've gotten something a lot more practical otherwise." Spike said.

"Wonderbolt Wrapping Paper? You must have used part of that stash of goods for this one." Rumble said as he had Scootaloo's gift before unwrapping it. Inside was a mint conditioned version of a poster of Spitfire signed in her special Captain Wonderbolt uniform. The wrapping on it was signed by the mare herself.

"...And I thought you said I upstaged the rest of you?" Spike asked.

"It's a poster. I got like seven others of all the wonderbolts that they all gave me. Even a another one of Spitfire too. It just felt wrong having that poster when it was in mint condition. Made me want to hang it up on the wall that much more." Scootaloo said. "So I figured I may as well just give it to Rumble after having it sealed up and the wrapping that it's sealed in signed by Spitfire." She added.

"You really went out of your way to get this done huh?" Rumble asked. "But you really shouldn't have brought anything. I do need to talk with you once all the presents are opened." He said.

"Sure thing Rumble." Scootaloo said.

Next was Sweetie Belle's gift. This was a simple belt that could have small wieghts put into it.

"For wing strength. I figure you want to be able to fly as fast as Scootaloo someday." Sweetie Belle said.

"Hey, I can't have her be leaving me behind." Rumble Said. Scootaloo just blushed at that.

Diamond Tiara's gift wasn't really that fancy as the others expected, just a headband. Which did surprise everyone.

"Just felt like you should could use something more mundane is all." Diamond Tiara said. "Plus, it felt like it just fit you considering it's pattern. Mom wanted me to give you something much more expensive, but I told her that the headband just seemed like the perfect gift for someone's whose now of legal age to have sex." She added.

"Huh? I thought the legal age was 18." Scootaloo said. She and the others there were 16 just like Rumble was now.

"Didn't you hear Scoots? The legal age for sex was dropped to 16 to match the legal marriage age.” Rumble said.

"I see..." Scootaloo said.

Silver Spoon's gift was a little bit fancier: Updated silverware for all the stuff in his house.

"This is my first time giving a gift to someone other then Diamond Tiara okay? I know it's her first time too, but I figured she would put more thought into hers. I didn't really do as much." Silver Spoon said.

"Mom's gonna appreciate the gesture. Plus, this is one gift that can be used on a more regular basis. Not that their all not great gifts. You all had some pretty sweet gifts." Rumble said.

"Hey, yer the same age as the rest of us are now. Only fair we treat ya that way." Apple Bloom said.

"Heh..." Rumble said and then everyone besides him and Scootaloo went to play party games.

"So, how'd you like my present?" Scootaloo asked.

"What can I say? Giving me that mint condition poster sealed and having the seal signed by Spitfire was pretty awesome. And I would've expected nothing less from the awesome young mare I've been dating all this time." Rumble said. "Rainbow Dash should be proud of you beyond words; I don't think she could've picked a better pony to get her parents to adopt as her little sister." He said.

"Heh...I try." Scootaloo said.

"You really shouldn't have gotten me anything. It's gonna make me look like I'm trying to upstage you on my birthday." Rumble said.

"Hey, if I ever have to get upstaged by anyone, I always want it to be you, Rumble." Scootaloo said. Rumble smiled and handed over a bracelet. Scootaloo recognized it: It's a special bracelet pegasi tradition states your supposed to give to the special pony you want to be your spouse in two years time.

"Scootaloo, I never want the adventures I have with you to end. Like ever. So, what do you say? In two years time, let's tie the knot." Rumble Said. Scootaloo put her back against Rumble's.

"I think our lives just got 20% cooler." Scootaloo said, sporting a cocky grin to which Rumble returned with his own.

"...You've been saving that one, haven't you?" Rumble asked.

"Eeyep." Scootaloo said.

Later that day, Scootaloo was in Shade's room alone with him. He was in his armor though.

"You knew Rumble was going to give me the bracelet today, didn't you?" Scootaloo asked.

"Well that is what future you told me about the day you and dad both really got serious about being in a relationship." Shade said.

"So then my hunch was right after all. Not only am I going to be the one whose going to be your mother, but Rumble is the one whose going to be your father." Scootaloo said.

"You got all that after Auntie Dash told you I was at the race?" Shade asked.

"I've never been more serious about being in a relationship with somepony then I ever have then when I'm with Rumble. I had a feeling that he and I would be married someday." Scootaloo said. "And now, I don't think I ever want to be this serious with anypony else." She added.

"You really do take after your big sister, you know that? It's like that old saying: The more things change, the more they stay the same." Shade said. Scootaloo hugged Shade. "M-mom?" Shade asked.

"I can't wait to see who you are under that suit. But I'll wait. I'll wait until after I've had a colt and a filly. After all, according to what you've told me, Rumble and I are first going to have a colt, and then later on a filly." Scootaloo said. "So I will wait. I will wait until a few months after that. Then, I want to see you out of that suit." Scootaloo said.

"You will after things play out as they are supposed to." Shade said. "No sooner." He added.

"Good luck with that, Shade." Scootaloo said.
