Chapter 1: This is Equestria
‘This is Equestria, a land where ponies live together as one. Earth Ponies tend to the land, Pegasi rule the skies, Unicorns harness their magic to protect us and Alicorns like my mother rule over the entire land. You may think this land would be at peace but sadly it’s not.
For the past 300 years we’ve been at war with dragons, powerful creatures of fire and flame. The war all started when a pony tried to make friends with a dragon but ended up....well.... let’s just say he didn’t return that day to his family. All of ponykind was distraught and engaged war against all of dragonkind. The battles were brutal and fierce with both sides having lost something. Equestria hasn’t been at peace since....” a hood closed the book and we see a young Alicorn pony who sighed.
The pony was a female that was white as snow with a sapphire mane and tail and she lacked a cutie mark of her own. Her name was Aline. Unlike the rest of her kind, Aline was different.
Aline put back the book of how the war began and got out another Book, the Book of Dragons. A special book her grandmother gave to her in secret that held all the information about dragons. This was Aline’s biggest secret from her mother because she banned anything dragon related from the land: No Dragon books and no practice of Dragon Magic either.
Aline smiled at the book remembering what her grandmother said to her before she passed away due to old age, “Knowledge is the key to everything, my little warrior,” Aline then took out a special Emerald Gem in the shape of a dragon, specially, A Night Fury, embedded in the book. She hid it inside of her mane so no one could see it.
Aline put the book in her saddlebag and exited the Canterlot library. From there she teleported to her home in Ponyville where ponies were walking around on high alert for any dragons who may attack their village.
It pained Aline to see everyone so tense and angry. Families were lost during the war and changed forever. Aline’s heart pained her. She wanted to find another way.... to end the war for both ponies and dragons. She thought about that as she came her home on the boarders of Ponyville that gave way to the Everfree Forest. Out here no one could bother her and she would be able to study and read in peace.
However, as she was about to enter her home, the Emerald Dragon Gem in her mane glowed! That meant there was a dragon nearby.
Aline quietly gasped as she was in a mixture of surprise and awe. She took out the pin and the Gem sent out a small line of magic that lead into the Everfree Forest. Aline gulped a little as she followed the Emerald Gem into the forest.
Normally ponies were afraid of the Everfree Forest because it took care of its self along with the animal inhabitants but Aline didn’t fear it at all.
The Gen guided Aline over a small hill where she saw broken down trees and large skid marks, like something crashed at the bottom of the hill. Following the trees to the bottom she gasped in shock and awe, seeing two dragons collapsed in the ground, having been shot down.
The first dragon was 24 feet long and white as snow with blue cat like eyes and four nubs on its head. It’s tail fins were in the shape of a heart.
The second dragon looked very similar but it was 26 feet long and was black as night with black like wings and more ear appendages on its head.
Aline couldn’t believe it...... a Light Fury and Night Fury...! Two of the rarest dragons in Equestria!
The two dragons had arrows stick out of their sides and in obvious pain and suffering. Aline skidded down the hill and came up to the pair, who immediately hissed at her before roaring in pain at their wounds. “Easy you two..... you’ll only hurt yourselves more....” Aline calmly spoke to the injuries Strike Class pair.
The Light Fury and Night Fury breathed heavily as Aline came over and examined the wounds. The arrows seemed to have only penetrated some muscles and the skin. “Don’t worry, I can help.... but you two have to stay still.” Aline said, taking out her medical kit from her saddlebag. Aline gently used her magic to take out the arrows getting a wince of pain from the pair before she flushed the wounds with preoxide to prevent infection.
Stitching the muscles back together before stitching the skin back together was her next steps before she gave them both a shot of antibiotics. “There... that should do it.”
The two Furies attempted the at least sit up but their newly stitched wounds were sore and they warbled in pain. “Easy, you two have to take it easy for this week before you can fly again.” Aline advised the pair. The Night Fury and his mate sighed, lowering their ear appendages but they were in no condition to put up a fight.
Aline gently moved her hood closer to touch the Light Fury, but she hissed at her, not wanting anything to do with her which Aline took as the sign they were probably shot down by ponies, “Easy girl....” Aline soothed, “I’m a friend. Not an enemy. I’m sorry this happened to you....”
The Light Fury and her mate looked at each other. They haven’t seen a pony like Aline acting nice towards them. They’ve always been seen as monsters and horrid beasts to all ponies eyes.... but not Aline.
The Light Fury cooed before she gently sniffed Aline’s hoof..... and placed her snout in it, trusting her. Aline gently smiled at her female Strike Class dragon before her mate gently nuzzled him, earning a big smile from her as well.
Soon night fell and it was time for Aline to go back home, “l’ll be back tomorrow to check up on your two,” Aline told the pair. The Light Fury and Night Fury nodded at her and watched their pony friend return home for the night.
Aline entered her room and fell onto her bed with the biggest smile on her face ever. She hasn’t been this happy since she got the Book of Dragons from her grandmother. Aline gently looked at the Emerald Dragon Gem in her hoof, “I guess you were right, Grandmother.” She thought before placing the pin back in her mane, crawling underneath her covers and fall asleep for the night.
The next day, Aline returned to the Everfree Forest where she found her Light Fury and Night Fury friends in the same spot she left them last night. The two dragons perked up at when They heard her coming, “Hi you two,” Aline greeted before the Emerald Dragon Gem slightly glowed a bit before,
“Hi pony,” the Light Fury replied back much to her, her mates and Aline’s shock.
“You can talk now?” Aline questioned.
“You can understand us now?” The Night Fury quipped back, “Since when?”
Aline didn’t know the answer until she felt her grandmother’s Emerald Dragon Gem glaring inside of her mane and she took it out, “My grandmother’s Gem. It.... it must have gave my the power to understand you.” Aline gasped.
“Woah,” the Night Fury gasped.
“Guess my grandmother’s Gem has more surprises.” Aline thought.
“Your grandmother?” The Light Fury echoed.
“Yeah.... she was an Alicorn like me. She was interested in dragons too. She always said, ‘Dragons and Ponies are one in the same,’ which is what I also believe. Sadly, she passed away due to old age, two years ago.” sadly explained Aline.
“Oh... sorry for your loss,” the Light Fury empathized.
“My grandmother was so wise and kind of everyone before my mother took to the throne. She gave me this Gem and the Book of Dragons before she passed, guess she knew that I would love dragons as much as she did.” recalled Aline who gained a small smile on her face.
“She sounds like she was very nice.” The Night Fury smiled.
“She was,” Aline added. “My names Aline by the way,”
“I’m Star and this is my mate, Eclipse.” The Light Fury, now known as Star, replied.
“Mommy, Daddy! Mommy, Daddy!” a series of small cries came before the three turned and saw small baby dragon triplets called Night Lights pop their heads from a rock on top of a nearby hill. They saw Star and Eclipse and cried, “Mommy, Daddy,” in delight before they flew down towards their parents and went around them before they nuzzled them happily.
The unique thing about them that they noticed is that the triplets looked similar to Eclipse and Star in certain ways; the first Night Light looked like a young girl who was the only daughter and eldest child of the two older Strike Class dragons being predominantly black on her body while being coated in white with small pink tinges in her medial and posterior areas. She had Star’s eyes and even her ears and the tip of her nose are tinged with white.
The middle child of the trio and one of the little female Night Light's two younger brothers looked a lot like his mother being white all over but having several black segments on his scales, his head nubs, and on much of his tail.
The last of the triplets and the youngest of them looked a little more like his father and similar to his older sister in being black with white highlights on his body but with them being much smaller along with his head nubs, white lining along his tail fins, and an all-white underbelly. What's unique is that unlike their sister, who has sky-blue eyes, the male Night Lights shared emerald green eyes.
The three dragons cooed as they nuzzled their parents. “Mommy, Daddy.”
“Awww... who are these little fellas?” Aline cooed at the baby Night Lights.
“These are our babies, the Night Lights, our two boys are Pouncer and Ruffrunner and our only daughter is Dart. Dart's the oldest of their triplets while Pouncer and Ruffrunner are her two little brothers. Dart's usually the most independent and outgoing between the three of them and is always one for adventure which often causes them to get into trouble that they might've otherwise avoided."
"That one there is Pouncer, he's Dart's younger brother and older than their baby brother by three minutes between them. He lives up to his name - energetic and playful and loved to pick fights with his brother back then. He's much less circumspect being nearly as fearless as Dart so it falls onto her to reel him in when he lets his curiosity get the better of him."
“And, we have their baby brother and the follow-the-leader Night Light of the trio, Ruffrunner. He's not as adventurous or curious as opposed to his older siblings and prefers to curl up and snooze whenever he's not playing with Pouncer. So, you might want to watch out for when he sleeps mid-flight since he has a tendency to often be dragged into Dart's misadventures."
“So cute....” Aline cooed.
“Oooh, who are you?” The three Night Lights asked looking at Aline.
“I’m Aline, a friend of your parents.” Aline smiled at the Night Lights.
“You’re one of those magic ponies?” Dart asked.
“Yes, I’m an Alicorn.” Aline chuckled.
“Cool!” All three went with big smiles. Their parents chucked at their little ones enthusiasm of meeting Aline.
“You’re parents are still healing from their injuries so you three go easy on them,” Aline added.
“Okay.” The three smiled, wagging their tails.
Aline chuckled before she checked Star and Eclipse’s healing wounds which were healing nicely. She brought the three of them large Salmon as well, being that both species loved fish.
Star and Eclipse smiled and shared the fish with their babies happily.
Soon, a week came and went fairly quickly and Star and Eclipse’s wounds were finally healed and Aline took out the stitches, “There, all healed.” Aline declared.
“Yeah...!” The Night Lights cheered in unison. Their parents smiled at their offspring, “Thanks Aline.” Star replied.
“No problem, I’ll see you tommorow.” Aline said as she headed back home for the day.
When she returned home, she was about to enter her home when.... she was suddenly tackled into the ground by three burly Earth Pony guards! “Gah! What the-? Hey!” One of the guard out an anti magic ring on her horn and wing brace preventing her from using magic or flying!
“Silence!” The one Guard snarled.
“Let me go!” Aline growled.
“Quiet daughter!” A stern voice came as the crowd in front of Aline and the guard parted and she saw her mother coming up to her. Her mother, Queen Ember, was six feet tall and she was also white as snow but her mane and tail were literally made of blue fire!
“Mom! What is the meaning of this?” Aline questioned.
“Some of the citizen informed me that you’ve been going into the Everfree Forest more than usual over the past week. I questioned why myself before they also informed me you’ve befriended our greatest enemies!” Her mother scolded and Aline’s heart spotted for a moment knowing she was busted for sure.
“How could you befriend those monster and betray your own kind?” Queen Ember growled.
Aline struggled underneath of the guards but they were too strong for her, “Such treason only deserves one course of action, execution!” Queen Ember announce and Aline gasped in horror while the civilians of Ponyville cheered, “But I’m your daughter!”
“Not anymore, traitor!” The Queen replied, “Bring her!” The Guards harshly brought Aline too her feet and followed their Queen with their prisoner in hand.
But they neglected the fact that Star and her family saw everything and were horrified, “Oh no, Aline...” Star gasped.
“Her mommy’s so mean!”
“She gonna hurt, Aline.”
“We have to save her.” Dart, Pouncer and Ruffrunner all said. Their parents looked at each other and nodded before the family spread their wings and flew to Canterlot to rescue their friend.
In Canterlot, Aline was dragged through a large crowd with a chain around her neck heading towards a large stage where her mother stood with a her Sword in her magical grasp.
The crowd booed and hissed at Aline, calling her names like ‘traitor’ and ‘monster’. Aline was then thrown into the stage where she mother stood over her. “Time to make an example of what happens to traitors.”
Aline gulped nervously but just when her mother was about to bring down her Sword, a plasma blast knocked her off of the stage, “What?!” Queen Ember snarled and everyone looked up and saw Star and her family flying in!
“Star, Eclipse, no!” Aline called to her friends wanting them to turn back.
“Fire!” The Captain of the Guard, Commander Blaze, a one-eyed, burly Earth Pony with a fiery red body and a yellow mane and tail that were singed in some places cause of his many battles, called and his guards fired arrows at Star and her family but they dodged them easily before Eclipse swooped in and grabbed Aline, “Gotcha!”
“You five came here for me.... even through you knew it would b me dangerous?” Aline breathed.
“Of course we would. You’re our friend now.” Star smiled.
“Now come on, let’s get out of here and someplace safe.” Eclipse said and the family flew away with their friend and the angry yells of the crowd vanished in the wind.
The dragon family took Aline back to her home where the Night Lights chewed the ropes off of her. Rushing into her home, knowing her mother would be back soon with an army to take her out, she grabbed her Saddlebag and packed with everything she would need; medical supplies, camping tent, canteen, multi-purpose tool, raincoat, umbrella, winter clothing, food, water, naps, all her books (magic spells books and books about other creatures), her grandmothers Book of Dragons and finally a small frame that held a picture of her and her grandmother.
Her grandmother, Scarlet Rose, was cream colored with a white mane and tail that held several rubies in them. Her cutie mark was the symbol of a Night Fury underneath a crown. Aline was always curious about what that cutie mark meant, but she never knew the answer to that, but vowed to learn about it one day.
Thanks to an Extension Charm placed on her saddlebag. She finished packing everything and placed it on her back before she placed the picture inside as well. With her grandmothers Emerald Dragon Gen placed securely in her mane, she came out of her soon to be ex-home. “Come on, let’s go hurry!” Aline urged and the family flew into the air and away from Ponyville.
No sooner have they done that, Queen Ember and her guards arrived and saw them flying away. The Queen was now even more furious as he mane and tail exploded in flame, “Mark my words! No matter where you go! I will find out and bring you to Justice!” She yelled at the top of her lungs at Aline, vowing to bring her daughter to Justice for such treason.
Star, Eclipse, the Night Lights and Aline all landed deep in the Everfree Forest in a clearing and Aline dismounted Star.
“We should be safe here... for now...” Aline added grimly. “Knowing my mother, she’ll chase me to the ends of Equestria to bring me to Justice.”
“Then we have to take you somewhere where she can never find you or us.” Eclipse said.
Then Aline remembered something else her loving grandmother said to her before, “My grandmother one day, spoke of a place where all dragons from.”
“She did?” Dart asked.
“Yes. She said ‘The Hidden World is an old sea-faring legend about a land at the edge of the world, where many sailors have lost their ships — never to be seen again. Those who have returned reported sightings of a great waterfall and dragons guarding the entrance to a hidden world beneath the sea. A land from which all dragons hail.’.”
“Ah yes. The Hidden World would be perfect. That’s where we come from; our ancestral home.” Eclipse replied. “It completely untouched by any ponies and your mother would never be able to find you there.”
Aline nodded before she took out an ancient map that held the way to the Hidden World, her grandmother said this map was given to her by her own mother and it’s been in their family for generations.
According to the map, they would have to make their way out of the Everfree Forest heading true North, going over a large Mountain, through a Marsh, then a desert and then a very dense jungle before they came out to open ocean where the Hidden World laid. “Okay..... guess I’m heading to the Hidden World.” Aline said.
“Don’t worry,”
“We’ll keep you safe,”
“And mommy and daddy have very strong friends too that will protect you too,” Dart, Pouncer and Ruffrunner stated. Aline nodded and smiled at the Night Lights before she put the map back in her saddlebag.
“Okay then,” Aline then mounted Star, “Lead the way,” Star nodded before she and her family flew off in their new journey towards the Hidden World.

Chapter 3: Journey through the Desert and Across the Ocean
Two weeks have passed at the traveling group arrived at the Marsh together. They could easily walk through the Marsh making to the other side by dusk. The group traveled true North for the next three weeks, managing to avoid Commander Blaze and his goons thanks to the Emerald Dragon Gem, making an entire month go by before they reached the Bone Dry Desert, a vast desert area that has a reputation for being the harshest environment to survive in. Despite this reputation, many creatures managed to carve out a living in this environment.
Star, Eclipse, Dart, Pouncer, Ruffrunner and Aline were now walking through the desert when the sun was at its highest. Aline covered part of her face with her right wing, which was fully healed after the first week of leaving the Mountain. Dart, Pouncer and Ruffrunner stayed underneath their mother to escape the humidity and the sunlight.
Aline panted a little looking over the desert, seeing nothing but sand, sand and more sand. Not a single creature could b seen.
"Mommy, I'm hot,"
"Me too,"
"Me three," Dart, Pouncer and Ruffrunner whined from the heat, sapping their energy. Star and the others stopped walking and Star nuzzled her tired babies.
"Prehaps we should stop here and travel again when it turns to night," Aline suggested and the parents agreed. So Aline put up her tent for the day and everyone entered. Aline gave the Night Lights each a bowl filled with fresh cold water along with their parents. The babies drank the water and seemed to gain their lost strength back.
The group stayed inside of the tent for the day until the desert sun gave way to the desert night. At night, the desert was much cooler and more welcoming to travelers in its midst. Aline packed up her tent and she and the dragons headed out once more.
As they traveled through the night, Eclipse picked up on some faint hissing sounds nearby, "Everyone. Wait..." he whispered making everyone stop before Aline's Emerald Dragon Gem began blinking in its 'warning pattern' again.
"Is it Commander Blaze?" Dart whimpered.
"No....." Eclipse growled, turning to the groups right as a pack of seven dragons slowly appeared from the shadows.
All of the dragons were of the same species, all 28 ft. long in length and had long, sharp tusks protruding out from their lower jaws with a row of armored plates lining across their backs. Their body coloration is mainly red with black stripes merging with black spots and they had bright yellow eyes. Their tails were telescopic and they were each tipped with a venomous stinger, similar to the stingers found on scorpions. They also have jagged, razor-sharp pincers resembling those found on a praying mantis in place of their front legs and their back legs were shorter and thinner with only two claws at the foot front of each leg. These dragons were known to be part of the highly aggressive Strike Class dragon species known as Deathgrippers.
"Deathgrippers......" Eclipse narrowed his eyes.
These dragons had much scorpion like anatomy with their stingers being able to sedate a human or dragon when placed in high concentrations, making them very dangerous. They also fire acid that came easily catch fire when it hits the air, melting through rock, wood and metal very easily.
The leader of the Deathgrippers looked at Eclipse and Star......... before it smiled, "Well well well.... Didn't except to see you out here again, Eclipse."
Eclipse calmed down, "Twilight, you know you shouldn't sneak up on me like that." he gently scolded.
"Where's the fun in that?" Twilight smirked.
"You know them, Eclipse?" Aline asked.
"Yes, they're some of the friends our children mentioned. Aline, meet Twilight, Dawn, Kamaari, Raya, Striker, Viper and Stripes. Twilight's their leader and mother." Eclipse introduced.
"Didn't expect to see an alicorn out here with our friends. Thought you'd be in some fancy castle somewhere." Striker quipped.
"Well that's not the case when your mothers a power-hungry and blood thirsty ruler who wants to destroy you for being friends with dragons." Aline said dryly.
"Your mother wants to destroy you?" Twilight's daughters exclaimed in unison.
"Yep." Aline deadpanned. "We're going to Hidden World so they can't find me there, but she sent Commander Hothead and his goons to capture me and my dragons friends."
"Don't you mean, monsters?" a familiar voice came and Commander Blaze and his squadron came over the dunes and the pegasus circled the group from above while the Unicorn guards pointed their horns them, ready to blast them. "Through that avalanche would have gotten rid of me?"
"I thought it would." Aline growled.
"HA! You thought wrong! And now my boys and I are taking you and your dragons in; dead or alive if need be." Commander Blaze snarled.
Twilight and her daughters roared before the Earth Pony guards launched a flurry of arrows at them. Twilight and her daughters fired their acid with melted the arrows before Aline used her magic and created a shockwave of lightning that blasted the Unicorn guards away. "Seize them!" Commander Blaze called up to the pegasus guards.
They saluted to their Captain and charged Aline and the dragons, however, Twilight, Viper and Striker flew up to them and revealed their stingers that were kept hidden a four sided sheath and stung the guards easily, paralyzing them and making them fall onto the ground. Commander Blaze snarled, furious seeing his soldiers easily taken out by pathetic dragons.
"Must I do everything myself!" Commander Blaze yelled before he tackled Aline to the ground, drawing his sword but the Emerald Dragon Gem, hidden in Aline's mane fired a blast at Blaze, knocking him off of its bearer. Commander Blaze stood up as his squad regrouped together. The Emerald Dragon Gem then floated out of Aline's mane and glowed very brightly before it unleashed a rainbow coloured blast at Commander Blaze and his squadron.
When the light dimmed down, Aline and the dragons gasped seeing Commander Blaze and his squad...... stone statues...!
"Holy! That thing can turn ponies to stone!" Viper gawked as the Gem floated back into Aline's hooves, "I-I had no idea.... It never did that before ever since Grandmother gave it to me."
"It appears that was a defense mechanism it used to protect you from great harm." Twilight deduced the gems' actions. "Your grandmothers' Gem appears to have become bonded to you."
"But..... why me...? Grandmother said that it was magical but... she never really went into detail why?"
"I believe the answer will be revealed once we get to the Hidden World."
"Yeah, and look on the bright side, we'll never have to worry about these goons again." Dart chirped happily.
Aline nodded and put her grandmothers' item back into her mane before the group continued on through the desert together with some new friends and a new mystery in tow.
Another two weeks have passed until the group finally reached the ocean. "Finally the ocean, we made it!" Dart cheered.
"We're almost home." Pouncer grinned as well.
Star and Eclipse nodded and Aline mounted Star before the group headed out over the ocean together in the final stretch
The group didn't think anything would get in their way........until a cyclone of fire blocked their way and a booming voice came from "YOU SHALL NOT ESCAPE WITHOUT PUNISHMENT YOU TRAITOR!"
Aline gasped in horror, knowing that voice as Queen Ember appeared from the cyclone with her mane flaming up with blue flames in complete and utter rage, "ITS' TIME I PUT YOU OUT OF YOUR MISERABLE LIFE, YOU TRAITOR!"
Queen Ember charged the group at full speed and they all scattered before Star and Eclipse fired their plasma blasts, striking her in the eyes while Twilight and her daughters bashed the enraged Queen in the sides, "Someone's got anger issues!" Viper yelped, feeling the heat from her mane and tail.
Queen Ember roared with such fury and breathed fire from her mouth just like a dragon would making everyone back off. "Yikes, we've gotta take her out!" Twilight growled.
"But how's she's very powerful!" Aline stated, knowing her mother was very powerful as an Alicorn Queen.
"Maybe we could help you," A voice came from nearby and the group turned and saw a flock of dragons heading their way.
At the head the of flock as a dragon who had long horns and spines snaking along its back with a bright blue, yellow, and orange color scheme to contrast them and was about 75 ft. long from nose to tail. The dragon was classified as a Death Song. His name was Singer.
The second, a female, was 72 ft. from nose to tail instead. It had similar features to the male Death Song but unlike the first dragon, its wings were much smaller and it had a different wing pattern. Its lower jaw on its face was a little wider and it had dark spots around its eyes. The most striking contrasts between them, however, came down to the female dragon's blue main body skin and scales as well as its black stripes and patterns, thinner legs, and larger and thicker back spines. The female dragon was a close relative to the Death Song known as a Slithersong named Echo.
The thirds was a male Deadly Nadder mate (who was larger than her) was named Flystorm. He was a mostly orange and pale green Deadly Nadder male who also light blue around his nose and legs. His nasal horn was smaller and less curved and he had a more complete underbite and a more robust jaw.
The fourth was a Titan Wing Monstrous Nightmare whose hide was mottled with rich blood red and a deep dark purple. His horns and claws are black, while his eyes are pale yellow and named Pheonix.
Nova was the female Titan Wing Singetail. She was blood-red with dark red to maroon muzzle, socks, and markings and as big as Camo and his mate.
A male Razorwhip dragon named Whiplash, who had red scale edges and his ocean blue eyes was the sixth dragon of the flock.
Rosethorn was the name seventh dragon of the flock who was a pale pink and white-winged and under-bellied Triple Stryke with golden-fire patterns atop her brown head appendages, golden spikes and claws, dark pink eyes, and three white, pink, and gold tails coupled with dark pink tail stingers.
The eighth dragon was about 66 feet long and had two heads and a split tail. This one was the strangest looking out of all of them that was a blue-green base color with darker splotches over its body and wings. It had a yellow nasal horn and blue leaf-like spines on its necks and back and it was larger compared to the other dragons. This dragon was called a Titan Wing Hideous Zippleback named Mist and Spark.
Finally, a male, dark blue, light blue, and turquoise-and-dark-striped winged Stormcutter simply named Reignstorm was the final one who completed the pack.
Star, Eclipse and their children all smiled at the flock, "Guys, you came to help."
"Of course, we're protectors forever." Singer smiled at his old friend. "Now let's get this hag out of here. Until the Hidden World's End,"
"DRAGON GUARD DEFEND!" All of the dragons went and they all attacked Queen Ember, bombarding her with poisonous spines, bites, fire damage and tail slices, leaving her with multiple scratches and injuries all over her body but her anger to get revenge on her daughter kept her going.
"You'll never defeat me!" Queen Ember yelled in rage.
However, the Emerald Dragon Gem glowed once more and floated out of Aline's mane and she knew what she had to do... for the future of Equestria and Dragonkind.
"For the peace you have denied us, Mother, you shall be turned to stone until I say that you are fit to be released back into society, so says Aline, the Dragon Guardian!" Aline announced as she used her grandmother's item and blasted her mother, turning her to stone, just like Commander Blaze and his squadron. Her statue fell into the ocean.... and sank to the bottom... never to be seen again.
All of the dragons cheered loudly and happily.
Finally, with the Queen gone, the war could now finally end in Equestria and dragons could be in peace once more, "Way'd a go!" Flystorm smiled.
"You sure showed her!" Phoenix smirked happily.
Aline panted as she smiled before her grandmothers' heirloom returned her the inside of her mane, "Now come on, let's go home!" Dart chirped and the dragons nodded and they flew out over the ocean, heading to their ancestral home.
After about another hour, Aline saw a large cloud of steam and the dragons flew over it, revealing a gigantic collapsed volcano caldera! Eclipse and the others dragons smiled seeing the caldera before they all dove right into the caldera. Inside the caldera were large stalagmites on the bottom with some small glows from volcanic lava. Water was pouring down from above giving the area a mysterious aura. Flystorm sniffed again, "This way," and he lead his friends through a tunnel that soon gained a blue glow to it.
When they came out, Aline was in awe, seeing a gigantic forest filled with many stalactites and stalagmites that are completely overgrown with various sorts of mushrooms and fungi.
“Wow….” she gasped. “It’s beautiful..” She was even more amazed as Star and the other dragons then started to glow in brightly colors. As the dragons flew over a forest and the young Alicorn saw many sections of rocks that held what looked to be developing dragons eggs. “Are those... dragon eggs?” Aline asked.
"Indeed they are. The Mushroom Forest is where dragon eggs are laid," Phoenix informed as they flew flew down and out of the mushroom forest and came into the what appeared to an entire world filled with dragons..! Many colors of coral are mixed with bioluminescent elements and Sarah could see they have grown from the floor of the cavern to the roof in tall columns. The coral was attached to gigantic, scintillating crystals that adorn the huge cavernous spaces and antechambers with water dripping down from the coral on the crystals, giving the entire area a majestic aura.
"Sweet Celestia..." Aline gasped, speechless at the pure beauty of the Hidden World before she saw a gigantic myriad of dragons as well! There were so many that she couldn’t even begin to count all of them! There had to be hundreds or even thousands of them!
The dragons flew down over the center of the Hidden World and Aline saw a humongous crystal that about as tall a small mountain surrounded by other crystals as well that were just as big, "What's that?"
"That's King and Queen Island. The throne of the Alpha Dragon," Eclipse replied as he and his friends all flew down joining a large flock of wild dragons as they flew around the large crystal and flew past a large section of the Hidden World which had many dragons on the coral around the giant crystal. All of the dragons roared in joy at the sight of Sarah as Winter flew up to the gigantic crystal and landed at the top and Aline dismounted her and gasped in awe at all of the dragons, who looked overjoyed to see her in their ancestral home.
"Why are they so happy to see me?" Aline questioned.
"Your grandmother used to secretly rule over the Hidden World and they can sense you are her granddaughter," Star explained as the group watched as all of the dragons, bowed to Aline in respect. “And now they made the you their new Alpha.”
“New Alpha…?” Aline questioned.
“Indeed. The rank of Alpha is one of the most powerful and deadly forces in the dragon world. It usually earned by defeating the previous Alpha or by earning the trust and loyalty of dragonkind by protecting, providing and keeping the peace among dragons The Alpha's natural duty is to protect all dragons and guarantee peace among them, thus it is a very important role for the survival of dragonkind."
"It means all of the dragons in the Hidden World and outside of the Hidden World will follow her command whether wild or tamed, are fiercely loyal and protective of her, following her wherever you go and come to her defense when they sense she's in danger and no dragon will harm her either because of her new rank either.” Eclipse started with a smile.
"My grandmother...... ruled over dragonkind...?" Aline gasped.
"Indeed she did and she was the greatest Alpha, us dragons have ever known." Whiplash smiled. "She was so wise and she always knew what to say and how to protect dragonkind from danger. And now.... that job belongs to you."
Aline was speechless but there was no denying it as her grandmothers heirloom to her glowed and floated out of her mane and into her hooves, "Thank you grandmother........I promise I'll make you proud...." Aline thought to herself and the Emerald Dragon Gem glowed as if it understood what she was thinking.
